Bungie, rather than turning matchmaking off for high Power activities, can you just set a minimum Power to queue? Events like Legend Sundial don't require heavy team play. You just need to be high enough Power. I don't mind using LFG, but there is no reason that mm can't be in game. Posted: 07 Jan 2020 03:59 PM PST Title. I appreciate the pinnacle rewards though! This could even be taken a step further in NF's. Like if you don't have the mods equipped, you can't queue. Just an idea. submitted by /u/mwelsh2035 [link] [comments] |
Let’s be honest with ourselves, for Solstice this year Bungie is going to pretend like they are doing us a huge favor by letting us re-earn the previous years solstice armor as ornaments and then act bewildered when the community is upset to have to relearn old content that they should already own. Posted: 07 Jan 2020 07:45 AM PST After watching Bungie handle a 17k+ post on this topic by ignoring it and continuing to see other posts like it, here is my prediction for the solstice this year! Bungie: "Now we are giving the players what they want, a way to grind out the solstice gear from previous years but now as ornaments!" Most Guardians: "We already earned those sets over countless hours of grinding and don't want to earn them again. We told you when you did this with Iron Banner that it was a big fuck you to the community. Why do you do this to us Bungie?" Community Manager Response to inevitable 10k+ post: "Players asked for old armor to be made into ornaments and the dev team did that. I will pass along this feedback that players are unhappy to re-earn stuff they earned before." Also, less of a prediction, more just exactly how they did IB. Edit: Wow this was a flat zero this morning. Not my first front page but my first Bungie reply! That's always neat even if it's not you were hoping for. Just a reminder not to "kill the messenger" when we are upset with how some things are being handled by the Dev. DMG does a great job, as does Cozmo. Edit 2: Sometimes I try to keep up with the comments but I am working so thanks for what I am assuming is pleasant banter with some constructive criticism spiced it. Obligatory thanks for the Gold and silver and a preemptive thanks for the platinum I have yet to receive. ;) Edit3: RIP title errors, re-earn*** you will never be fixed. Edit4: For the record, because it is being asked. I am NOT PLEASED by the answer given in DMGs reply, but again don't shoot the messenger. Edit 5: Jokes on you all!! Now that I got my platinum, Imma head out now!! /s Obviously kidding. Thanks for all the awards I had never heard of. submitted by /u/Olgrateful-IW [link] [comments] |
Bungie why wasn’t I instructed to get 50 airborne side arm kills in the Crucible?? Why didn’t I get to rerun a harder version of a strike I’ve done 80 times? Why am I not fighting teammates for kills????? Posted: 07 Jan 2020 10:59 AM PST This isn't you Bungie. Exotic quests are supposed to either be a super cool secret mission that took months to make or a extraordinarily tedious grind where I curse the developers and my teammates..... Instead I get characterization, meta commentary, good dialogue, and a cool gun. You've lost your touch. I'm going back to Anthem. Destiny is dead. submitted by /u/Stewbeef12 [link] [comments] |

If you heard Saint-14 say "wether you wanted it or not" and didn't instinctively finish with "we stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars...," then you're not a true Destiny player. Posted: 07 Jan 2020 07:14 PM PST |
I strongly recommend listening to the full conversation after the Twilight Gap mission. Posted: 07 Jan 2020 09:50 AM PST I am on the moon. It is made of cheese. Best chuckle I have had in this game. Would really like more guardian interactions like this. submitted by /u/drsorensen78 [link] [comments] |
The reason Ascendant Shards and Enhancement Prisms don't drop from the Crucible is because Shaxx isn't paid well enough to supply them. Posted: 07 Jan 2020 07:11 PM PST In the post-mission completion dialogue from the Devil's Ruin quest, Shaxx mentions that he's not paid a lot as Crucible Handler. This means that he's not able to buy the materials he needs to purchase enough Enhancement Prisms and Ascendant Shards to dole out to skilled Guardians, not even upon max Valor or Glory rank. R.I.P. Shaxx's Salary. :( Bungie, you need to buff Shaxx's salary next season. The guy is criminally underpaid; he saved the City's ass at Twilight Gap, he's one of the most memorable Guardians in Destiny history, and he sung for us over the comms, even though he's very shy (and paying off a debt to Saint-14). With all that Shaxx has done for us, do you honestly think he deserves the shitty salary he gets!? Until then, at least let me give Shaxx all my extra Rainmakers. Seriously. I could use the extra inventory space. submitted by /u/TheChunkMaster [link] [comments] |

Bungie, completing a triumph and being rewarded with a generic looking legendary ghost shell, ship or sparrow with terrible perks is never ever going to be rewarding. Posted: 07 Jan 2020 08:48 AM PST Title. I remember the days when unique items were rewarded for completing triumphs and I was happy to spend hours grinding those triumphs out because I wanted that cool, unique item. Now, everything has been moved to the battle pass or the eververse. It's just not the same. submitted by /u/Sardonnicus [link] [comments] |
Could the Bright Dust cost in the Tribute Hall be reduced or removed? With the current dust economy, it is a waste to spend it in there. Posted: 07 Jan 2020 05:36 AM PST Since Shadowkeep, bright dust has been significantly limited to weekly bounties. It would be nice to put the dust towards Tess, because spending anything in the tribute hall feels like a giant waste. What do you guys think about this? submitted by /u/blockbook [link] [comments] |
The Sundial would be more enjoyable if there were three times as many rank and file enemies, but they weren't so tanky. Posted: 07 Jan 2020 08:59 AM PST Chewing through hordes of enemies is more fun than plinking away at a handful of them. Tanky enemies make our primary weapons feel like BB guns, they drop fewer rewards and grant less experience because we're not killing as much, and a whole host of the best perks in the game proc on kills, which comes at a much slower rate in the Sundial. Plus it just feels satisfying to shoot something in the head and have it actually die. It's nice that the Sundial feels hard, but sometimes the bullet sponginess of the enemies feels tiresome. submitted by /u/NoctisNoctua [link] [comments] |

Devil's Ruin - Hidden Perk Posted: 07 Jan 2020 10:24 AM PST ***SPOILERS*** As those who own the weapon know, Pyrogenesis procs only if you fully charge the weapon and fire the laser when you have less than 15 rounds in the magazine - meaning that the weapon will pull however many rounds from your reserves to refill the mag to 15 when the laser fires so it will always output the full 15 rounds of damage. However, there is a HIDDEN PERK associated with Pyrogenesis (or the weapon in general). If you hold the trigger and charge the laser, and then release the trigger RIGHT when it reaches the maximum charge, you will fire a VISUALLY BRIGHTER AND LARGER LASER that will trigger Pyrogenesis and output 15 rounds of damage while ALSO ADDING 15 MORE ROUNDS into the mag from your reserves - meaning you'll have 15 rounds in the mag AFTER the laser stops firing so you won't have to reload. For example: if you do this right, the ammo counter will rise up to 30 when the laser fires, meaning it'll deplete back to 15 when it's done. Obviously, this will take a lot of practice and getting used to the charge time because it's a VERY tight window, but it's a neat little thing to reward players who can "master" the weapon's mechanism. --- EDIT 1: A HUGE shoutout to u/Kumakobi for providing video footage in the comments below - https://gfycat.com/inexperiencedclearamericanpainthorse EDIT 2: Despite its appearance, the "super" laser does NOT deal extra damage nor have extra range. EDIT 3: Thanks to u/GeoWilson for pointing this out - even if you have 1 round in the mag and no reserves when firing the laser, Pyrogenesis will reload the mag by pulling extra rounds from the void before firing. submitted by /u/ayim160 [link] [comments] |
Destiny Patch 3.0 Posted: 07 Jan 2020 03:26 AM PST DISCLAIMER: THIS POST IS A HUMOROUS POST IT'S NOT REAL DON'T @ ME. World PvE: Improved enemy scaling and increased spawn-rate of random events (like enemy clashes). We feel this should improve the feel when entering areas, as the EDZ, Nessus and similar areas are still warzones, and should feel that way. Removed the "Get Kills With Grenades" area daily bounty. The intern who thought this was a good idea has been fired. Made lost sector glimmer drops more consistent, to reduce the variance and increase their reliability. High-Value Targets are no longer random, repeatable spawn, but now may be "triggered" via a quest similar in length to a patrol. This should make Spider's Bounty Hunt more interesting to complete, as well as reduce the variance in time to complete. These patrols may only be completed once per player, per 30 minutes. Heroic Public Events now award abit more Glimmer for completion. Completing Public Events also increases your reputation with area vendors, the equivalent to handing in 10 resources. Area vendors now have a level associated to them, similar to the Vanguard level from Zavala. A higher level (with milestones) gives more perks, and higher stat rolls on armor using the armor 2.0 system. Made Mercury areas more consistent - AN example is the arena in the middle of the planet/the towers you can access via public event not counting for planetary bounties. We fixed that. They count now. Removed the Mercury bounties - Neverending and Kill 3 Cyclops. We understand these were abused by players by queueing up for certain strikes and abandoning them in the middle, which makes for an unfun experience for all involved. Removed the "Complete Public Events" daily bounty from planets that only have 2 public events that rotate (MARS!!!!). Increased Patrol Fireteam limit from 3 to 6. We understand some people want to do area events like Blind Well or Escalation Protocol together, and this game is a social experience, so we'd like to make it easier to do that. Instanced PvE Changes Allowed the launching of "firewalled" planetary strikes. We understand that this may be used for quick bounty completion, and as such, these will only count for daily/random vanguard bounties, and not ritual weapons or other strike related quests. Improved and optimized certain Nightfall: The Ordeal strikes to make sure that they're more consistent in terms of scoring - a variance between 2 good runs should not be 40k points. Picking up orbs of light no longer increases score in Nightfall: The Ordeal. This was a major problem for people who used their supers intelligently instead of spamming them for score. You're no longer punished for this. There is now a global weekly scoreboard for Nightfall: The Ordeal. See how you stack up against other players, and gain special rewards for placing high in the leaderboards every week! Five of Swords now allows you to add champions to regular nightfall strikes. Improved drop rates for nightfall-specific weapons. We understand that certain rolls on weapons are bad, and thus, don't want people to feel like they need to run over 100 instances of the same strike to get a good drop. Improved Exotic drop rate from Master level Nightfalls. Master Nightmare Hunts now give a guarenteed drop of 1 Prism. Improved Dungeon loot for Shattered Throne. You should now have incentive to add this dungeon to your weekly rotation! Doubled glimmer rewards for Playlist strikes. Completing a playlist strike now awards 1 Enhancement core. Increased chance of getting a high roll armor piece from playlist strikes. Fixed the wording on the weekly bounty to reflect what you actually need to do - Complete 3 Playlist Strikes using the same elemental subclass as the elemental singe that's currently active. If you have a different subclass equipped and the bounty remains to be completed, you will be prompted and offered to change your subclass to fit the singe. All relevant bosses now count towards their racial class in terms of "Hive/Vex/Cabal bosses kills" bounty. General Fixes Completely overhauled the ingame social system: Players now automatically opt-in to Team and Local text chats. You can change this in "settings". Added an ingame friend list (no longer Steam). This should allow for easier player interaction (No more crouching and miming at players!). You can still add friends on steam from an ingame interface. Fireteam management is now easier and less clunky. Fireteams are open to friends & clan by default. Overhauled the clan system to actually matter - there is now a clan browser, and your clan tag now shows before your name. You can apply to clans via the ingame browser, and clans can write intros for themselves, aswell as input requirements like minimum light level. Clan Wars is a new pvp mode that allows you to queue up to Survival and Control matches with a 3 or 6 man fireteam respectively, and play against other clans. Doing so increases your clan XP, as well as gives Legendary item drops. Clans can compete to increase their placement on global clan leaderboards in this manner. When you open the vault, you may now sort by equipment type, light level, and rarity, as well as Catalyst Completed/Not Completed for exotic weapons. Also, inventory and vault menus now appear side by side, rather than a completely seperate screen interface, to allow you to drag items. Added an "Auto Dismantle Rare Gear" option. Added an "Auto Dismantle Gear Under X Light Level" option. Use at your own risk! Removed Pure Materglass and Rainmaker items from the game. Instead, these buffs are permanently active, but their effect has been reduced. Made a complete bug-fix pass on every weapon in the game. Weapon mods should work on all of them. Brought Y1 weapons up to code - they now all have a secondary perk, as well as a mod slot. They should be relevant again in certain situations. All weapons now have a curated roll, which is, specifically, the last roll you had on the weapon before you dismantled it. This means you can now pull "random variant" weapons with the last roll you had before dismantling. Anti-Barrier mods are now global and usable on every weapon. Overload/Unstoppable mods are still weapon-specific. These all still need to be unlocked from the seasonal artifact. Vex crit spots made more consistent, specifically on Minotaurs. Made Ghost Shells a cosmetic change rather than gameplay related one. Ghost Shell bonuses are now unlocked via specific quests and achievements. Since you're always using the same ghost and simply changing what it wears, it makes no sense that the bonuses your partner gives you changes based on it's clothes. Reduced fall damage in raids and nightfalls. World fall damage remains the same. Fixed audio ordering inconsistencies, like Io or the Savathun's Song strike. Audio Clip order should now make sense. New players are now prompted to complete The Red War campaign when they finish the tutorial, and Curse of Osiris campaign when they first head to Mercury/Warmind to mars. Players will be offered to purchase the Forsaken DLC when they first head to the tangled shore/dreaming city, and Shadowkeep when they head to the moon. Previously collected armor can be used as an ornament. Seasonal mod slots are global, and can now contain any seasonal mod from any season, but only one of them. Ok look, this is all I could think of off the top of my head, but I think we can all agree that, if even half of these changes actually happen, the game will look and feel much better, both for new players and veterans. Some of these changes are overhauls and some are tiny number changes, but all of them are meaningful and important. I know most of these things are either well known or "on bungalore's radar", but I hope that we won't have to wait forever to see them come to light. submitted by /u/Kers_ [link] [comments] |
According to Saladin season of dawn has already ended Posted: 07 Jan 2020 11:43 AM PST |
It's over folks. Its finally over. Iron banner is done forever. We can rest Posted: 07 Jan 2020 02:53 PM PST So as it says, spoiler! Lord Saladin always said " It isnt over until Shaxx sings, and he's very shy" Well.....He finally did sang a tune. Not amazing or long but it still counts! As far as I know this is the first time we have actual proof of him singing. (or at least trying). For those who dont know. Its at the end of the Twilight gap mission during Devil Ruin's quest. submitted by /u/lighting828 [link] [comments] |
Sleeper Simulant is in a bad spot Posted: 07 Jan 2020 03:53 AM PST Sleeper simulant has gotten countless nerfs over the years even when it wasn't used it got nerfed which is a extremely unjustified. I decided to test the damage numbers showing just how bad sleeper is after all the countless nerfs it received check the link below. https://imgur.com/gallery/vIOuRGX I tested sleeper damage numbers on the lost sector ogre boss and I'm using the damage numbers from Ehroar damage test videos. Edit: Whisper correct total damage is 798,330 submitted by /u/Lnym [link] [comments] |
People complain about how short the Devils quest is but the conversation between saint and shaxx more than makes up for it IMO. Posted: 07 Jan 2020 07:57 PM PST You're allowed to disagree but I got more enjoyment out of that dialogue than I did farming saints weapons. And it's ok with me that they do a quest like this every once in a while. There are other issues glaring Destiny in the face, but this quest is an ok departure from norm IMO. submitted by /u/Seanshineyouth [link] [comments] |
Without going into details, I just want to say that I adored the Devil's Ruin mission. Posted: 07 Jan 2020 10:24 AM PST It's just a nice, peaceful departure from the normal shooty shooty, and the dialogue at the end is just amazing. submitted by /u/PoddyPod [link] [comments] |
HAMMER TIME! Absolutely Abusing the Titan Mini-Hammers Exploit on Raid Bosses. Posted: 07 Jan 2020 07:54 AM PST |
Your first heroic sundial run gives pinnacle gear. Posted: 07 Jan 2020 09:34 AM PST Just got a 970 gallant charge. I'm a fucking idiot I didn't realise it was 970 until inspecting it. I could've gotten a 970 heavy. Still nice for another pinnacle gear source. submitted by /u/phatballs911 [link] [comments] |
Can we please have progress for Eriana's Vow catalyst include Nightfalls? Posted: 07 Jan 2020 04:28 AM PST Why the hell does the Eriana's Vow catalyst not progress when completing Nightfalls? I mean honestly, it's the playlist most people would actually use Eriana's in, so it completely baffles me that you don't get progression from this playlist. What the hell Bungie..? submitted by /u/squatsforlife [link] [comments] |
Destiny 2 is in a Paradoxical State of Pretty Great and Pretty Not Great Right Right Now Posted: 07 Jan 2020 10:18 AM PST Like the title says many aspects of this game are the best they have ever been in the franchise. A ton of weapons to chase. Plenty of variety in activities to play. Lore and Characters are actually really interesting. Fantastic ability to control stats and create builds. Fun exotics. Quest unlocks across characters. But for every good thing there is and equal and opposite bad thing. Lack of earnable unique cosmetics from in game challenges. Bounties being the only reasonable source of XP. The Pinnacle System. Lack of vendor refreshes and updates. Crucible balance. Strikes. Rotating content out. Armor affinities (both the affinities and at the very least the inability to change them). Eververse and the changes to its economy since Shadowkeep or even Opulence. Lack of new meaningful endgame content. Content left behind. submitted by /u/Crusader3456 [link] [comments] |
Strikes feel like a frustrating and unrewarding race against your teammates, and the long travel distances between encounters exacerbates this feeling. Posted: 07 Jan 2020 08:34 AM PST In future strike designs, consider compacting the space that they cover. D1 strikes had a pacing or cadence that just felt good. It also helped that there was a potential for rare and sought after rewards from standard playlist strikes. submitted by /u/NoctisNoctua [link] [comments] |
Dunemarchers turns your Throwing Hammer into a fiery Mjolnir Posted: 07 Jan 2020 08:28 AM PST When the Linear Actuators perk from Dunemarchers is active, if you toss your Throwing Hammer (Code of the Devastator, middle tree Sunbreaker) when it hits an enemy it will shock all the nearby ones. I bet a lot of people know this but I've run into people who didn't. Dunemarchers is SO good right now because of this. See a group of adds, toss Hammer--no more group of adds. Pick up Hammer, heal, do it again...but stronger this time. And because it's great to use with middle tree Striker if you're using Monte Carlo to refill your melee quickly. Not to mention the faster movement and longer slide distance too. Plus ANY time you run up and punch things you shock every enemy around it so you don't even need your melee ability to have add-clear on hand. Lately when I'm doing Gambit or bounties or whatever I'm often rocking Dunemarchers. submitted by /u/Faust_8 [link] [comments] |
