    Activities

    Pit of Heresy

    • Improved some performance issues in the Chamber of Suffering encounter that could reduce framerates.
    • Fixed an issue where players could die when transitioning from the Necropolis encounter to the Tunnels of Despair.
    • Fixed an issue where players could get out of the environment in the Tunnels of Despair.

    Garden of Salvation

    • Improved a performance issue that could occur when chunks of land return, or are removed during the Sanctified Mind encounter.
    • Improved the visual indication for when a tether source hub is on or off.
    • Added text notification when a Vex sacrifices on a relay.

      Nightfall: The Ordeal

    • Reduced weekly completions needed to bring it in line with other challenges.

      • Players now need three completions on Adept, two completions on Hero, or one completion on Legend or Master. ##Director
    • Players can now shortcut directly to their Roster by selecting their empty fireteam slots, or by invoking the Roster shortcut on Director Map screens.
    • When an activity is selected, fireteam leaders can navigate left and right to get to Quests and Roster respectively, then back to return to the selected activity. ##Rewards

    Weapons

    • Seasonal Bow mods should now work reliably with Hush.
    • Fixed an issue where Onslaught would reduce damage at 2x Rampage stacks despite not increasing Rate of Fire.
    • Adjusted scope feedback and camera shake on Hard Light firing.
    • Eriana's Vow no longer gets more ammo when swapping from other Special ammo weapons in Gambit. Starting ammo in Gambit increased from six to ten.
    • Fixed an issue where swapping from Two-Tailed Fox to another Power weapon would generate more ammo than intended.
    • Fixed an issue where Leviathan's Breath started PVE activities with more ammo than intended.
    • Fixed an issue where Xenophage started PVE activities with more ammo than intended.

      Armor

    • The Empowered Finisher Dawn mod will no longer consume Super energy if you do not have a mod equipped that is capable of benefiting from the Charged with Light buff.

    • The Ever Ready Dawn mod will now stack correctly with weapon dexterity leg armor mods applicable to the weapons it covers.

    • The Heavy Handed Dawn mod will no longer trigger after the death of Telesto bolts. Increased the number of enemies that must be near the player to trigger the ammo-granting benefit from two to three.

    • Several class item armor mods will now correctly provide diminishing returns when multiple copies of the mod are equipped. These mods include Perpetuation, Innervation, Invigoration, Insulation, and Absolution.

    • Wormgod Caress and Winter's Guile no longer retain the status of their buff if the armor piece is unequipped.

    • The perk on Synthoceps now deactivates immediately when the armor piece is unequipped.

    • The Transcendent Blessing Outlaw mod will now correctly appear in players' inventory; previously, it would only be visible in the mod flyout when socketing a mod.

    • Grenade Launcher Scavenger will no longer award Special ammo for Grenade Launchers when the player picks up Primary ammo bricks.

    • The last finisher removed from favorites will no longer override the fallback default class finisher.

    • Giddy Laugh rare emote now has a valid icon and can be selected for equipping on the emote wheel.

    • Shadowkeep campaign Exotic armor no longer has a potential to show up in Xur's weekly inventory.

    • Gunsmith now properly assesses the owned status of Unflinching Machine Gun and Unflinching Hand Cannon mods.

    Power and Progression

    • Fixed an issue that caused the amount of XP earned not to show up next to the XP progress bar.

      • NOTE: This issue may still exist for players after they reach Seasonal Rank 100, but all XP earned will still apply to Seasonal Ranks above 100.
    • Changed the progress bar description on the Weekly Strike challenge from "Bounties completed" (which was incorrect) to "Strikes completed".

    • Completion values for some of the destination Obelisk Weekly Bounties have been reduced.

    • Fixed an issue where the "Green with Envy" pursuits could stop progressing correctly.

    • Players who were in this state should have their progress updated retroactively.

      Combat

    Gameplay

    • Fixed an issue in which Roaring Flames was buffing Solar Weapon Damage while standing in a Well of Radiance.
    • Fixed an issue in which Sunbreaker Titans were able to self-heal by bouncing a Throwing Hammer off a wall.
    • Fixed an issue that prevented Warlocks from using Blink after switching weapons or cancelling sprint.
    • Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause the Sunbreaker Titan's Mortar Blast to deal little to no damage.
    • Fixed an issue that allowed Sunbreaker Titans to gain stacks of Roaring Flames by destroying Telesto projectiles.
    • Increased the Sunbreaker Titan's Mortar Blast damage by 70 percent in PvE.
    • Crucible
    • Players will remain in spaceflight instead of going to a black screen when they load into a PvP match faster than their peers.

      Bounties and Pursuits

    • Fixed an issue that could prevent players from obtaining the Black Armory Key Mold quest from Ada-1 on multiple characters.

    • Acquisition of Black Armory rare bounties significantly improved.

      • Players that complete all available weekly and daily bounties will acquire a rare bounty within five days.
    • Black Armory Keys taking up space in Pursuits will be removed if a player has already completed the Mysterious Box Izanagi's Burden quest chain and unlocked the Exotic in their Collections.

    • The Gambit Prime "Collector" bounty will now progress from picking up Luna destination materials.

    • Fixed an issue affecting the "Newest" sorting option in Pursuits.

      • Newly acquired quests, or quests that get updated, will now be properly sorted to the top. ##General
    • In Collections, the "Playin' the Odds" Gambit emblem will now properly register as unlocked and can be reacquired accordingly.
    • Fixed an issue that was impacting the Unveiling Triumph.

      • Eris is now ready to present her final Lore entry to players who need it.
      • The Unveiling Lore Triumph now correctly reads #/11 Lore pieces and will unlock upon obtaining the final Lore piece.
    • Fixed an issue where certain randomized dialogue would play more or less frequently than intended.

    • Fixed an issue that was causing notifications to appear again after transferring items using the Bnet D2 API.

    • Improved performance when receiving certain messages from the server.

      • Largest impact will be in the Tower, but should help everywhere.
    • Fixed an issue that caused FOTL items to be stuck in the postmaster as invisible items for some players.

I just want to see storylines to the end.

    Posted: 28 Jan 2020 06:17 AM PST

None of this "Yeah, we killed Oryx, but there's like, five people going for the throne, and someone's still capable of 'taking' enemies."

None of this "Rasputin is safe, but he's in danger, but he's online, but he's being attacked, but his defenses are unmatched, but they're breached"

None of this "The Dreaming City's dealing with Taken and Scorn, and Mara has a plan, but she's gone, but Uldren's back, but he's gone, and the City's in limbo"

After murdering like five gods, why is the only concrete thing in the universe that Ada-1 has a tragic backstory and Ghaul is like, so dead (But the Red Legion's still about, because Calus or something...)? It'd be nice to see a threat properly stamped out, or answer a question at the root of things regarding major players in the universe, instead of every thread worth two glimmer left dangling forever.

Oh wait, we did totally get rid of SIVA, so... yay?

    King's Fall Raid Poster

    Posted: 28 Jan 2020 03:07 PM PST

I've been meaning to get around to this for the last 4 years, and I finally can say I'm happy with the outcome. I recently illustrated a poster inspired by music festival screen-print posters. The original idea came from this post.

Hopefully I can make more in the future, I had a lot of fun with this one! In spite of the polarizing game that destiny currently is, I hope we can all come together to reminisce on a really well put together raid.

Here is my King's Fall Raid Festival Poster!

    Hope you all enjoy!

These were mostly just a spur of the moment quick project. Not too much effort or thought went into it and a friend said I should share in case this is indexed by google and someone some day just wants to look at weapons grouped together in galleries. Here they are:

edit: I'm really amazed at how many people appreciate these galleries. I'm so happy others can enjoy them. I will add better pictures for Ancient Gospel, Tranquility, Avalanche, and Cold Front when D2 comes back online

Catalysts are a great part of the game that should be expanded upon.

    Posted: 28 Jan 2020 07:03 AM PST

It's super cool to get an Exotic upgrade in the first place: being able to bump up the Range on a Crimson or add alternate functionality like Cerberus+1's catalyst does has several effects that I personally enjoy:

    • I get to use a weapon that I never really use, like Merciless, and see where it really shines. I didn't know Merciless, for example, is a monster in PvE against enemies with large health pools. Getting the catalyst completed on it only made the weapon even more consistent to use.

    • Exotic Catalysts create mini-goals that are great to work on. One of the best feelings in Destiny is when you can work on multiple things at once, and Catalysts are great for this. Grinding Strikes or Patrol instances? This is the perfect time to kill two birds with one stone (the only exceptions to these are the Catalysts with specific goals like Worldline Zero or Whisper of the Worm).

    • A few Seasons ago, Bungie added Exotic Catalysts to the Triumphs page (under the Account tab). This was a neat extra incentive to work on the Catalyst, as it shows every Catalyst you've earned and how to get the ones you don't have, and you get a Triumph completion for finishing it.

Catalysts as a whole are a great addition to the franchise, and one that I would like to see expanded upon. Multi-step Catalysts, where if you finish a step, you improve the gun slightly until you finish everything, are an idea I would get behind. Another one would be Catalysts for Legendary weapons too (whether a curated selection of specific Legendary Weapons or maybe a stat boost based on the weapon archetype?). More Catalysts on existing Exotics in general are also welcome.

Either way, it's a system we had in Destiny 1 where you improved the gun through natural play while having the gun equipped. It was a great system, but as Catalysts, I feel like the potential for more player engagement and satisfaction is there.

TL;DR: Exotic Catalysts are an awesome opportunity to expand upon, with more in-depth progression on a specific weapon, or including it into Legendary weapons too. If those aren't feasible though, more Catalysts in general would be great.

Crucible gets Unbroken, Gambit gets Dredgen and Reckoner. Can Strikes and Nightfalls get a title that isnt tied to open-world content?

    Posted: 28 Jan 2020 04:54 AM PST

Wayfarer requires every base game armor sets and weapon from every planet, and even though it is tied to Wayfarer it doesn't feel like a true title. Some Nightfall pieces are even tied to other seals like Cursebreaker. I just think it would be awesome to rock a Vanguard title that shows dedication to these playlists just like the others.

Today’s “Inventory Glitch” is just a soft roll-out of the Y2K D3 storyline

    Posted: 28 Jan 2020 02:59 PM PST

D2 ends and we are the most powerful guardian possible with a vault full of every resource, weapon, and armor piece we could ever want. We have grown fat from strength, as Daddy Calus would say. We don't know what Savathun is really up to these days but we have quelled every threat thrown our way.

One day we are playing, doing our usual thing...and we are all kicked to orbit, then maintenance break. An eerie voice speaks over the maintenance notice...I...AM...SAVATHUN...AND I AM HERE TO TAKE...then followed by a menacing cackle.

The maintenance break ends and we are put into a cut scene that shows us in orbit, flying to the Tower, and heading to our vaults. Except...the horror...they are empty. Everything is gone. Except Eververse, that shit's still fully stocked.

Suddenly a ship eerily similar to Thousand Wings materializes over the Tower. That eerie voice from the maintenance break pierces the sky again...I HAVE COME...I HAVE SEEN...I HAVE TAKEN...! You look up at the ship and finally lay eyes on Savathun...but instead of a Hive Wizard or similar appearance...she's dressed like...The Grinch?! And we're left in Whoville while she heads to Felwinter Peak with all our toys.

End cut scene, start the forlorn music, and the Destiny 3 start screen begins.

Sunspot melee (mortar blast) still broken AFTER PATCH

    Posted: 28 Jan 2020 10:37 AM PST

The melee is still doing almost no damage in many instances, despite it being said in the patch notes it was fixed

" Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause the Sunbreaker Titan's Mortar Blast to deal little to no damage. "

    Solo Legend Sundial completed!

    Posted: 28 Jan 2020 09:17 PM PST

While this is one of the most fun and demanding challenges this game has, it's easily one of the most aggravating challenges as well, because the enemies are bullies. Randomly booped into walls, insta-killed by flamethrowers with no time to react, early champion shields, getting targeted through camo, etc.

Full Video - Fair warning, I swear a lot

A lot of the difficulty for this comes from the fact that you only get one go at each of the 3 encounters to fill up the bar, meaning you need to kill 5 of the bosses that spawn up. Also, extinguish is on, so any death=run it back. Getting one boss per encounter is pretty easy, but getting the second one after running out of ammo and using your super on the first is much harder, which is why you see me half-attempt to wipe after my Gatecrash run when I miss the second boss. Datamine second boss is almost a guaranteed since the only thing that can go wrong is you getting pushed off a plate while camo, or the first plate boss hides from you and wastes a decent chunk of time.

The build used for this run was Bottom Tree Tether on Hunter, with Sixth Coyote on Gambler's Dodge for the camo bombs with max mobility for quick dodge CD. The new Season of Dawn mods were also utilized, with High Energy Fire (more damage while charged with light) being the most essential.I opted for running double special weapons for extra DPS if I ran out of Izanagi ammo, so I used the artifact mod for void melee abilities to stagger the unstoppable champions. Stat wise I went for T10 mobility and T10 Recovery, everything else wasn't all that important. Here's the full breakdown of my mod/weapon setup:

    • Kinetic - Izanagi's Burden
    • Energy - Trophy Hunter - Triple Tap, Vorpal Weapon, Tactical Mag, Boss Spec
    • Heavy - Edgewise - Field Prep, Demolitionist, Major Spec
    • Helmet - Major Resist, Double Sniper Ammo Finder, Precisely Charged
    • Arms - Recovery Mod, Enhanced Sniper Loader
    • Chest - Recovery Mod, Sniper Reserves, Unstoppable Schwarzchild Condensor
    • Legs - Mobility Mod, Double Sniper Scavenger, Shield Break Charge
    • Cloak - Distribution, Special Ammo Finisher, High-Energy Fire

All in all took about 40 hours worth of attempts, with a hint of me (and others attempting this) losing my mind due to how unavoidable some of the deaths were. Thanks for your time :)

    Beautiful.

Edit: Added a video showing how it is on console. Can you tell I'm a controller noob? Lol

For the record, yes this is recorded on PC. However, because I have a controller plugged in I get the exact same amount of recoil as if I was playing on Xbox or Playstation.

Also, both of these videos are with the catalyst. I can't show you a comparison without it as you can't remove catalysts from year 1 weapons. Sorry.

Iron banner was useless after grinding and getting approx 400 tokens

    Posted: 28 Jan 2020 09:40 AM PST

What the hell happened to Armor stats? Jesus. Not worth the grind. Nothing substantial gained. Maybe it was just me with RNG. But last time around I got great Armor rolls.

Nothing this time. Sharded everything except for a GL. In fact, I didn't bother cashing in all the tokens either. Wonder if they go away. Whatever at this point.

Quite disappointing. Bungie, please, at least keep this thing consistent.

Also, we need more places to get good Armor with higher stats than normal drops. Not a Crucible player normally, but I always enjoyed IB.

Edit: Thank you guys for all the input! This is perhaps my most popular post ever on Reddit.

buffed Hard Light is the hero we deserve

    Posted: 28 Jan 2020 10:14 AM PST

I did some casual testing on the recoil BEFORE and AFTER the patch, and while Hard Light's recoil + screen shake used to almost hit the Tribute Hall ceiling, it's now smooth as butter and barely makes it halfway up the wall without compensation. Took it into a pretty sweaty Crucible match on Javelin-4 where everyone was rocking Thorn, Spare Rations, Beloved, Mindbenders, etc, and came out winning with a 3.0+ efficiency.

With the recoil fix, it can actually duel now with that 100 AA, and take advantage of the damage falloff that Handcannons suffer. I even got a few ricochet kills! I don't think its OP, because its taking up my Exotic AND my Energy slot, so I can't run SpareBenders, Lord of Wolves, or etc.

    THANK YOU BUNGIE! <3

While I applaud Bungie’s attempts at making seasons interesting, the best “you had to be there” moment for me was Wish-Ender.

    Posted: 28 Jan 2020 04:44 AM PST

I get that the bow was overpowered, and that it was affecting gambit (even though recluse still has that problem according to warmind.io) but honestly? I'm so glad I got to use it, more than the corridors of time and the seasonal activity.

Think about it, wouldn't you want to tell your friends about this super cool bow that was once OP and shredded every major in gambit so much that you could carry the whole team?

Now I know it's important to give constructive criticism, so I think that activities should be more crazy, and memorable, like the daybreak modifier from destiny 1 or a seasonal activity with lots of minor adds to allow for testing builds or something, and PLEASE make the next seasonal activity a 4- player fireteam (or 3, anything but 6 please, it gets tiresome). Thank.
