What about a Raid where we're the ones defending?

    Posted: 07 Feb 2020 12:44 PM PST

I'd love a raid where we're on the defensive, having to hold the line whilst trying to get the city guns online and having citizens evacuate behind us. When we do get them online, they get destroyed and we fall back to a defensive position to rally before we make a final push up the wall. Here we meet the Boss and throw him over the edge before watching the enemy's retreat into the distance. Would really change the dynamic and allow for a lot of cool encounters. An encounter to trigger dps where we have to use the guns to drop the shield of a boss or something. I'm sure bungie could come up with some fantastic encounter ideas.

[Tower Thought] Our Ghost acts as a Bluetooth Speaker that plays the music we hear in-game.

    Posted: 07 Feb 2020 08:44 AM PST

"Yo Ghost, play 'Ad Victoriam' while I defend Saint-14 from the Fallen. Actually, play the Extended version for a little razzle-dazzle."

"Hey Ghost, do me a solid and play 'One Final Effort' from Halo 3 when we get to the sparrow racing portion in Scourge of the Past. Start the music at 26 seconds. Shit never gets old."

If Trials returns, I’d like to see the Freelance playlist become Freelance Trials over the weekend so there’s a chance for solos to run a few cards and get rewards

    Posted: 07 Feb 2020 03:54 AM PST

    Title

Some great discussion while I stepped away, thanks for joining in.

Just wanted to make a few further points based on some of the feedback

    • If you haven't tried to Freelance to experience how it works, you should and then just apply it to elimination

    • To be clear, these would be separate Matchmaking pools. You wouldn't just fly into Trials Solo. Main Trials would still require a full fireteam to play

    • Matchmaking might do you dirty, sure but you run that risk every time you LFG or load into a game playlist without a full pre-made. LFG can be far worse than a decent player who just doesn't like talking

    • You want the best chance? Get a pre-made. You want to take your chances for 7 wins on the run, Freelance

    • While I like the idea of Trials Rumble, it's not Trials and would take away the 3v3 spirit

    • The freelance playlist is successful, there's no reason why Freelance Trials wouldn't build on that success. Matchmaking might be tweaked, we just don't know

    • Not every blueberry is awful and you know it. Please stop acting like every player not active on mic is the worst thing that could possibly happen to you

    Look forward to further discussions

    3D Printed Power (Heavy) Ammo

    Posted: 07 Feb 2020 07:13 PM PST

Recently got my kid into Destiny. Today he got his first exotic.

    Posted: 07 Feb 2020 02:59 PM PST

Whenever he sees me play he'll ask how I got some of my exotic armor pieces. I just tell him you have to get lucky and they'll drop for you. Well, just a little bit ago, he comes running in saying he just got an exotic. I was so happy for him. I asked if he remembered what it was and he said he couldn't remember. I knew he had one of each character so it could have been anything. So I get up and walk with him to his room.

And then I see it. He's looking at Xur's inventory. I have never told him about Xur. He just stumbled across him. What are the odds? My heart sinks. I knew he probably just spent all his legendary shards. I ask him what he got. He shows me his character. He's on his Warlock. Aeon Souls equipped.

He doesn't know any better. He's happy. Even having only 5 legendary shards left. Meanwhile I'm sitting here feeling like I just got kicked in the nuts.

[Fan Art] Trials of Osiris inspired armor

    Posted: 07 Feb 2020 05:53 AM PST

I'm a new light player absolutely in LOVE with every aesthetic I've seen this the game thus far, but I'm really looking forward to whatever gorgeous Egyptian designs Bungie will hopefully unveil in the future ~

Here's my take on some https://twitter.com/momodeary/status/1225773707777499142?s=21

I based them off of a cobra (Hunters can't horde snake themes forever!), a scarab (and additional other beetle components), and scorpion :)

The title they don't work they aren't it. It's not fun to go to xur and see them. Ban them remove them i don't care what

Edit:I'm leaving the orginal because lets be real it's funny. Aeon cult exotics should not be in the game or at least rework them. Nobody likes getting them

Are you hurting for glimmer? Do you have a Titan with a crayon addiction? Well here’s my D2 version of the “we’ve woken the hive” glimmer farm

    Posted: 07 Feb 2020 08:45 AM PST

Edit: I made 13,000 glimmer in 1 run, and I joined on wave 2. Second run: 14,000.

If you're hurting for glimmer and want to knock out some bounties for XP (if you can afford it), ive found this to be a pretty useful strategy. Like everything in Destiny, it's a total grind and time sink, but if you're desperate, it's an efficient way to farm glimmer and bounties.

    what you'll need

    1. Titan with Actium war rig, sweet business, solar helmet and boots (for auto rifle ammo finder and auto rifle scavenger). I also find middle tree solar titan wrecks nightmares since a lot of them have solar shields.

    2. On your artifact, column 3 has a perk called biomonetizer (defeating hive combatants grants extra glimmer), if you don't have if selected, reset your artifact.

    3. Eris morn shell (with moon glimmer scavenger - it increases glimmer by 10%)

    4. Use "rainmaker" consumable

Pick up gunsmith bounties and Eris morn bounties, and head to Altar of Sorrow. Check what triumphs you still need for altar of sorrow as you can work on those. Grab any obelisk bounties you may want to work on. Start the activity, hold down the fire button, and don't let go.

    Have fun

A message to all Titans out there. To prepare for the onslaught of the infinite Dawnblade glitch, equip Antaeus Wards with a Slideshot shotgun.

    Posted: 07 Feb 2020 05:34 PM PST

With Antaeus Wards you get a shield every time you side.

If you time this right you can literally reflect an enemy's super right back at them, then finish them off with your Slideshot shotgun.

Use this to counter the infinite Dawnblade exploit until it is patched.

Make two-factor authentification mandatory to play competitve and trials

    Posted: 07 Feb 2020 10:56 AM PST

Rainbow Six Siege introduced it and it helped ranked matchmaking a lot regarding cheaters. And since Destiny also has cheaters running stupidly rampant for multiple weeks or months before (MAYBE) getting banned, 2FA would at least introduce another hurdle for them.

Bungie likes feedback on how a certain aspect of the game makes you feel. So here goes: The current pinnacle level chase makes me feel like it is pointless and arbitrary

    Posted: 07 Feb 2020 06:39 PM PST

I feel that the current design of raising the max light level by 10 every season needs to be reworked. Most of us spent most of the previous season maxing out our light level using the painfully slow and arduous pinnacle gear climb. Only for all that work to be negated this season since the max level has been arbitrarily pushed up by 10 points. To what end has the max level risen? Are we fighting a new higher level baddie this season that we need to become more powerful for? No. It's not like this is like an old school RPG where we can't go to certain areas or dungeons because we are woefully underleveled and will get annihilated. This season brought no new raid so it's not like we were working to become more powerful to overcome a new raid boss. What was the point?

At the moment there is no payoff for maxing your gear level (I'm solely talking about gear and not including the artifact). Most of us will have a similar experience. Spend half the season (if not more as some of us are not that lucky) getting to max level. Following that is there a point to bringing all the gear that you tend to use in rotation to max level? Not really since in a month all that effort and resources will be rendered pointless.

TL;DR I feel that the pinnacle grind is pointless and arbitrary. I feel that there is a huge inconsistency between the immense amount of effort hitting max level takes compared to the payoff (which will be negated in a very short time).

    Your thoughts?
