Destiny has changed my life and I need to get this off my chest. Posted: 03 Feb 2020 02:14 PM PST Ive been contemplating writing this for about a year or so now. But its been feeling very heavy on my chest recently and I feel the best place to show my feelings on this is on this thread. Im not even sure where to start but here i go. It all started when my brother and I really wanted a playstation 4. (Age 16). We kept trying to think of ways to convince our father to buy us one. Eventually we came across the Destiny playstation 4 bundle. It was all white. We thought it was so awesome. But we had never even heard of "Destiny". We did some research and decided "eh I guess this game is cool". Eventually the beta came out and we downloaded it during the last 3 hours of the beta. My brother tried the titan and i tried the hunter. We instantly fell in love. We didn't even care about the playstation 4 anymore. We preordered it on our playstation 3s and awaited launch day. I chose warlock because it was the only one we didnt try and yes. This is why im a warlock and always will be lol just because i didnt try it in the beta. We grinded and grinded and absolutely fell in love with this universe. Our cousin had bought the game and introduced us to his friend. Then his friend introduced us to his friend and then his friend introduced us to his brother. We had 5 people (the brothers shared their ps3) so we needed 1 more to finally attempt the "Vault of Glass". We asked a random person in the tower who was also 26 in level. Lets call him Zoro. He agreed to try it with us and of course it didnt go well but it was so much fun. We added eachother and we all tried everyday to complete this raid. Eventually as time passed we grew closer to eachother. We all found out we lived in the same city. We all agreed that one day we should all meet up and hang out as a real raid team. Eventually we made the clan The Uglies and to this day we still call ourselves that. Fast forward a bit and the taken king is out. Boy are we excited. Made many new friends along the way. But as hard mode was released for the raid our friend Zoro vanished. Never came back online. To this day I still check to see if he ever comes back online but sadly he hasnt. We all ended up meeting up and it was so much fun. We had so many laughs but it just didnt feel right without Zoro being there. Eventually the raid grew apart. Of course were still friends and talk and hang out all the time but what i mean is we dont play destiny anymore. Once Rise of Iron came out we attempted the raid once. We used Lfg and got this random guy whom has completed it before and he was a total douchebag and ruined our experience. Everyone grew older. Needed jobs. Started lives. Got girlfriends. Moved on from this Destiny world we damn near lived in. Destiny 2 came my brother, 1 friend and I bought the game. That right there is what let me know that our Destiny adventures were over. We finally made a new clan. "The Disciples of Zorovich" For remembrance of our dear friend Zoro. We played the game. Beat the story. Grinded and grinded but once the Leviathan raid was out we gave up. We had no interest in finding new friends for we were in fear that everyone was just going to be an asshole. Every dlc that comes out makes me so excited. Every thing thats ever announced gets me so excited. I buy every dlc and play all the stories and it gets me so hyped but eventually i stop. For the lack of my friends interest. Even my brother has stopped now and im the only one left who even bats an eye towards this game. I have so many stories i could share like us staying up for 22 hours trying to beat Skolas in the prison of elders on the day the house of wolves had been released. Or how many times our freaking friend pulled the gjallahorn. Or how it became an inside joke that zoro would take breaks to smoke a cig between bosses. But i must wrap this up now. Now even though this story seems a bit sad I just want to thank bungie for all the laughs, adventures, friends, and everything else it brought to me. I now am 21 (close to 22) and I live with my friend and his brother. They had helped me so much growing up. My parents fighting getting divorced. Having to move to my grandmas because of the chaos that unfolded between them. I always had my boys to cheer me up and are now letting me live with them. Its honestly so crazy. I constantly think about how different my life would be if I never even played this game and as I write this i shed tears of joy but thanks bungie and thanks to you guys. The community for also providing the content and other stories of people who have also been greatly affected by this game. I still check up on this game but i think its time i put it down. Once again thanks Bungie for everything and if you guys read this all the way thanks. Love you guys. -Avyator98 Guardian Veteran. [link] [comments] |
Bungie should add a Guardian in the tribute hall to test weapons for pvp purposes Posted: 03 Feb 2020 05:50 AM PST |
Posted: 03 Feb 2020 10:09 AM PST I think this will be a good way to make flash points relevant again. Even if it's only ONE ornament per week, that still gives us a reason to do flash points for the next 35 weeks to get the full planetary sets (if we're counting tangled shore scorn armor as planetary). I think it would be a great way to add more diversity into our Armor 2.0 and future while keeping the integrity of the game. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Feb 2020 07:29 PM PST I'm a completionist. And by completionist, I mean I like to have next to nothing in my Quests tab. I've done almost everything this game has to offer (just missing the Reckoner and Unbroken titles) well get there someday. But what really grinds my gears is having 30+ different quests on my alternate characters that I've already completed on my Hunter (master class) character. What's the point? Do I really want to grind out The Last Word and Malfeasance again? No, I don't. But I force myself to do it because if I don't it will remain in my quest tabs. And now I hear you screaming from the roof tops "JUST ABANDON THE QUEST!!" The answer is no, I cannot do that. Because when I mosy on over to the Drifter to pick up the bounties for Gambit I'm gonna see those abandoned quests and my OCD/completionist/whatever you wanna call it is going to drive me insane. This is just an example, obviously there are more quests like this. [link] [comments] |
Humble request to have Enhancement Prisms and Ascendant Shards drop in raids Posted: 03 Feb 2020 12:37 PM PST I wholeheartedly believe it is in the game's best interest to get more players into the raid. It is the most unique content in the game and shows Bungie at their best. I WANT to raid more, and I feel like I will if I can run em all to grind materials that I need for armor sets. Just a thought. [link] [comments] |
I have gone nearly 600 days at 39/40 sleeper nodes. Posted: 03 Feb 2020 11:58 AM PST Maniac depression set in a LONG time ago. I have spent countless stems trying to get one specific key. The emblem seems like the most unobtainable thing in Destiny to me right now. [link] [comments] |
I killed an entire team with their own super Posted: 03 Feb 2020 03:59 PM PST https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0D7B_E9KeQ Antaeus Wards are insane [link] [comments] |
Ornaments should be available for purchase at all times Posted: 03 Feb 2020 01:18 PM PST Bungie, Whether it's loot boxes that contain ALL the ornaments or purchasable Ornaments for all guns. Please let me give you money. Am I crazy or does it seem odd to me that Bungie doesn't want the insane amount of funds that openly obtainable ornaments would bring? [link] [comments] |
Bungie, why do you keep raising the light level when the activities don’t match that increase? Posted: 03 Feb 2020 01:24 PM PST Is it just for us to grind for newer, higher, light year? I don't have a problem with that, because you don't need to at this point (and I chase down triumphs anyway) but I was just wondering if there was an endgame to the reasoning. Thanks. How do I tell my friend he’s trash at the game politely? Posted: 03 Feb 2020 06:20 PM PST This is a rant btw. Tried to 2 man outbreak because he wants it and it's just been a pain for me. Not only does he continue to neglect tips I'm giving him but he just keeps running and gunning and making bad decisions and asks "why didn't we get it?". So here's a scenario that I came across when doing a section with the first walker. I tell him to shoot vandals while I use arc staff to clear left side. I clear my side and he's still shooting at the first set of vandals(and I shit you not He's a veteran and he decided that the best way to kill vandals with hard light is to richochet the bullets, waste time and proceed to miss) but no biggie I try to get the vandals close to me and the two servitors below and what does he do? Continue to shoot the first set of vandals except this time he's even lower in the room and can't get an angle. Yet he stills wonders "what we're doing wrong". There was one time where he got to the boss first and I told him to run hammer to clear the first set of adds quickly. When I got down there he said "I used my super and it didn't do shit" and from what I could tell he only killed about 3 dregs or so. When shanks spawned in I dont know what he was thinking but he's too busy trying to dps the boss with HARD LIGHT as I'm asking him to clear the left side shanks while I work on right. He can't do the parkour well, he rage quits over trev'r and his decision-making skills are stunned. I forgot to mention he likes to proclaim that he's "all that" and that he's "good at the game". He likes to "fuck it" and try and do something without preparing. TL;DR-I'm about to lose my brain cells trying to help a guy who has more experience than me and has been on pc longer than me on a mission that's apparently"too" hard. [link] [comments] |
Reckoning should be consolidated into a single activity (no more tiers). Posted: 03 Feb 2020 04:15 AM PST I've been grinding Reckoning recently, going after the masterworked weapons and also completing my armour collection, and it got me thinking. What really is the point of having Reckoning split into three tiers any more? Back in Season of the Drifter, it made sense, as it was essentially a ladder of power that you climbed as you levelled up, culminating in Tier 3 being a pseudo-endgame activity. But now, with all three tiers being the same power level (the base power level that everyone starts at), it really seems pointless. Tier 3 is they only one with any real value, as it drops weapons (including masterworks), and the best gambit armour sets, so why play any of the others except for when you have to, to complete the synthesiser upgrade bounties, or because you just want to complete your collections with the lower level armour that is all but worthless otherwise? I think the entire Reckoning experience could be vastly streamlined and improved to make it less confusing and fragmented for newer players, while still offering the same amount of content and a rewarding experience. Here are my suggestions, and I'm curious as to what other people think:

Posted: 03 Feb 2020 10:06 AM PST Leviathan's Breath - 16x24" mixed media on canvas Finished this piece a few weeks ago. Originally started it off as a doodle and an idea on a post-it note - so I says to myself, I says: "Leviathan's Breath, but like... stencil-ish...?". And after pushing pigment around, this is what I ended up with. Since I haven't frequently posted my works to this subreddit, I figured I'd go through my back catalog to show the Guardians who frequent this sub some sloppy Destiny arms and armor paintings. I hope you enjoy! [link] [comments] |
You've seen the superbowl, but have you seen... The Guardian Bowl? Posted: 03 Feb 2020 07:12 PM PST My clan and I wanted to have some fun and combine 2 of our favorite things: a gigantic sporting event and destiny 2. All of the abilities that guardians have gave us the ability to make some really goofy and fun plays. We hope you enjoy our anarchy ball highlights as much as we enjoyed creating them! Posted: 03 Feb 2020 10:32 AM PST So yesterday, I was super geeked to get some Arc Karnsteins so that I could use Impact Induction with top tree Dawnblade - only to find out you can't proc Impact Induction with Celestial Fire. To prevent the immense disappointment and confusion that happened to me from happening to others, I went ahead and tested all the melee-based perks to see how they interact with Celestial Fire. But then curiosity got the better of me and I ended up just testing every ranged melee on every class (if I missed anything please let me know). The results were pretty interesting, so I hope this helps some people, including Bungie because I would love for these all to get fixed. Unfortunately can't test Winter's Guile because it's disabled, but I do know Wormgod's Caress works with Throwing Hammer. CELESTIAL FIRE - Top Tree Dawnblade Perks that DO work:
Perks that DO NOT work:
BALL LIGHTNING - Middle Tree Stormcaller
TEMPEST STRIKE - Middle Tree Arcstrider Perks that DO work:
Perks that DO NOT work:
SMOKE BOMB - Top/Middle/Bottom Nightstalker Perks that DO work:

THROWING KNIFE - Top/Middle/Bottom Gunslinger Perks that DO work:

THROWING HAMMER - Middle Tree Sunbreaker Perks that DO work:

TL;DR Warlocks and, to a lesser extent, Arcstriders are oppressed and Trench Barrel doesn't work with anything. Sad times indeed. [link] [comments] |

Unannounced Garden of Salvation Raid Jacket Changes? Posted: 03 Feb 2020 12:27 PM PST UPDATE: The updated brown color on the store is what will be shipped in June. EDIT 1: Just heard back from Bungie store support: "At this time, the updated images on the product page is the anticipated color of the jacket. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes you." So there's that... EDIT 2: Before anyone asks, I did not explicitly ask about the possibility of a refund in my ticket, but the response made no mention of it. Following up now to see what the deal is there. Original Post: Hey all, I just received an email update about the GoS raid jackets (apparently shipping in June) which contained new images of the jacket that seem to be substantially different from the originally advertised look. Particularly, the original images seemed to be a waxed green color similar to a Barbour jacket, but the new images are just brown, which doesn't look nearly as good, in my opinion. Confusingly, on the store page for the jacket ( https://bungiestore.com/products/preorder-bungie-rewards-destiny-2-shadowkeep-garden-of-salvation-raid-jacket-ship-date-tbd ) it now displays both versions - you can really tell how different the color is if you look at the contrast between the main fabric of the jacket and the band around the waist and the lining of the pockets. Given what happened with Sleeve-gate on the CoS jackets, I'm worried that a bunch of us got bait and switched again to the tune of $150+ Hoping I'm wrong and we get the original, but I'm submitting a question ticket to find out. I'll post when I hear back [link] [comments] |

Forgive me DTG for I have sinned. Posted: 03 Feb 2020 08:21 AM PST This is my confession. May you judge me fairly and honestly. It was last night, around 2:30 AM. I had been going at Sundial so long, in hopes of becoming one step closer to the Savior title, I wished to go flawless. Try as I might, I could not. It should have been a simple task. Adhere to the elemental burn, and with Heavyweight active? It should have been a breeze. But The Architects, they never rest. I never died to gunfire, a bad play, or even falling off. It was always The Architects. I scratched my head, I shook it, and I prayed to RNGesus for deliverance into the promise land. But to no avail. I began backing out of Sundial before finishing the moment they came for me. This is the first of my transgressions. The second, I will carry with me to the end of my days. Even though I backed out of lobby after lobby, each time I loaded in I always tried to participate to make it easier for everyone. Surely fortune would smile on me. Nope. Then it happened. Attunement of Grace, Randy's, Beloved, Through Fire and Flood (recently got one with Spikes!) For the duration of my next run I hid like a coward. Sniped and Scouted my way through the entire run, never playing the objective. Only throwing the occasional healing grenade towards my teammates and finally dropping a Well for damage phases on the boss. I received my flawless triumph but at what cost? I felt so dirty. I hope my teammates can forgive me. All those backed out lobby's, I hope you found respite. Forgive me DTG. For I [have sinned] [link] [comments] |
Have you ever stopped to just look at the Environment, Skybox and Locations in Destiny or Destiny 2? Posted: 03 Feb 2020 09:01 PM PST Another kind of place I like in the Destiny Franchises are the type of places with obvious purpose or history, mostly Hive temples or Vex machine structures. That's why some of my favorite places to visit in Destiny 2 are Io, The Moon, and The Leviathan.ut with your friend or just with your ghost for the night if your character could? If you list these places from best to worst in terms of vibe or aesthetic, what would that list look like? For me, the first location I ever vibed in was the Dreadnaught in Destiny 1. It was so ominous and creepy, really capturing that evil castle feel. I wanted to discover all of the Dreadnaughts secrets. I also used to walk around and look for l places that looked out into the void of space, to see all the stars. I could see my guardian listening to some super chill music in one of these spots. Another place I liked was the Darkness pyramid ship in the moon. When I was inside, I wanted to explore everything, and learn about this place. And whoever worked on this place put much love into it because it felt... evil. Like even the air around me was my enemy. I think for me any place that feels ominous and mysterious was my favorite place to chill, like watching a thunderstorm roar in the distance. or places that have really great hot coco vibes, as in a place and time you would drink hot coco at for maximum effect. Another kind of place I like in the Destiny Franchises are the type of places with obvious purpose or history, mostly Hive temples or Vex machine structures. Places that make me ask questions like, "Why is this here?" "What does this do?" "Who built this?" "What does this say or mean?" That's why some of my favorite places to visit in Destiny 2 are Io, The Moon, and The Leviathan. I honestly can't wait to see what Bungie does next for this game in terms of location. Maybe I'll make a list down below. But mostly, I want to know what you fellow guardians think and talk about it with you. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Feb 2020 11:18 PM PST Of course, it would be great to see a new boss room, new mechanics (maybe the mechanics of the previous three bosses combined) and new rewards. However, I advise to not set your expectations high for this reveal. If it is new and exciting, well that's great! If it's a black and white reskin, let's just hope next season has a bunch of new content for us. [link] [comments] |
