This week at Bungie, we had to fix the timeline . . . again.

Sometimes when you kill a bug it doesn't stay dead. Earlier this week, while deploying Hotfix 2.7.1.1, a small number of servers failed to restart with the proper configuration file. This reintroduced a previous issue that caused some players to lose currency. We had to reset the clock again, and roll back character data to ensure that no one's hard-earned currencies were lost. To give you some details from behind the scenes, we posted a detailed recap of why this issue reemerged and how we're working to prevent it from rearing its ugly head again. Player Support has more info below on Hotfix 2.7.1.2 going live this morning and how it put this bug to bed for good.

In other news, Crimson Days is back and Guardians are partnering up to show their love. The Tower decorations are up and Lord Shaxx is inviting partners to enter his special Crimson Doubles playlist in the Crucible. For the full details, check out our Crimson Days page or last week's TWAB.

To invest or to donate? That is the question the community has been pondering since the Empyrean Foundation event began last week. Many in the community are recommending that players keep investing in Obelisks, but we're seeing a steady rise in donations as players have already hit stage five. We've also received reports from Spider that this economic stimulus has been great for his business.

Here is a look at current Fractaline donation tracking as of noon PST.

    Image Linkimgur

Billions of Fractaline have been donated, but you have billions more to go to reach stage seven and unlock the final Triumph for the Savior Seal.

    An Affinity for You

When we introduced Armor 2.0 with Shadowkeep last fall, we got a lot of feedback on the new armor system – specifically pertaining to Elemental Affinities. Many of you have been asking for the ability to change Elemental Affinity types on armor. We'll be adding the ability to do this starting next Season.

You'll soon be able to change the Elemental Affinity on any piece of armor to either of the other two Affinity types directly from the item's inspection screen by hovering your cursor over the armor's energy icon. This is intended to mitigate the experience of getting an armor drop with a stat roll you want, but the wrong Elemental Affinity. Changing an armor Affinity type will cost 1 Upgrade Module. If your armor is already upgraded to a higher energy level, the cost will be the total upgrade materials necessary to reach that energy value plus 1 Upgrade Module.

    Seasonal Mods

We also received a lot of suggestions on how to improve Seasonal mods. Starting next Season, the Seasonal armor mod socket (e.g. Undying Mods, Dawn Mods) will also be able to use mods released during the Seasons before and after the armor piece was released.

For example, armor with a mod socket from Season of Dawn can now equip Dawn Mods, Undying Mods from Season of the Undying, and [Redacted] Mods (from Season of [Redacted])

    Iron Banner

    Image Linkimgur

As Crimson Days comes to a close, Lord Saladin will arrive just in time to fill the hole in the heart of a less decorated Tower. Red flowers will be replaced with a burning shield as the last Iron Banner of this Season kicks off next week.

    Iron Banner and Valor Bonus

Start: 9 AM PST on February 18

End: 9 AM PST on February 25

This is your last shot to finish your Iron Banner quest this Season and pick up any pinnacle rewards from Iron Banner bounties. Equip your best gear and control those zones!

    GROUNDHOG DAY

    Image Linkimgur

Player Support is the first to field reports of issues in the game. The Help forum is the best way to throw up signal flares if you suspect something is awry.

    This is their report.

    HOTFIXES AND ROLLING BACK ACCOUNTS

After Hotfix 2.7.1.1 went live on Tuesday, the Player Support team started receiving reports of players missing their Destiny 2 materials and currencies, again. We alerted the rest of the development teams about the issue and the decision was made to immediately take the game down to prevent more players from being affected. Around 4 PM PST, we finished rolling back player accounts and brought the game back online.

Earlier today, we released Hotfix 2.7.1.2 which included a server code fix to prevent currencies and materials from disappearing again, as well as a fix for the infinite Dawnblade Super issue.

    BOND, CRIMSON BOND

Lord Shaxx has decorated the Tower and brought Crimson Days back to the Crucible. Along with a partner, you can forge a Crimson Bond with them in the Crimson Days Doubles playlist, earn Confectionary Hearts, and purchase unique rewards. The event will end at the weekly reset on February 18.

For more information about Crimson Days, view our Help article.

    KNOWN ISSUES

While we continue investigating various known issues, here is a list of the latest issues that were reported to us in our #Help Forum:

    • Players who completed quests or lost progress, gear, or weapons between 8:30 and 10:30 AM PST on Tuesday, February 11, will have to complete or earn them again due to our account rollback.
    • The "Fire of the Crimson Days" emblem can't be accepted if it's already your inventory. Delete the emblem and accept the new one to continue.
    • Unearned/unclaimed Crimson Days triumphs will be removed when Crimson Days ends and won't be able to be claimed afterward.
    • Players having trouble collecting their Undeterred, SVC-12, or IVC-10 Sparrows need to make room in their Sparrows and Consumables inventory to receive them.

For a full list of emergent issues in Destiny 2, players can review our Known Issues article. Players who observe other issues should report them to our #Help forum.

Our movie awards may not have all of the pomp and circumstance of the Oscars, but dmg04 always dresses up when he picks the winners. Also, you don't have to wait a year for more Movies of the Week. So that's a bonus. Anyway, our award process is pretty simple – we pick our favorite community-made videos and the winners get an emblem. Just please make sure you include your Bungie.net profile link in the description of the video if you win.

Hard to believe we only have one month left in Season of Dawn. If you're planning on getting the title before the end of the Season, make sure you start finishing up any Triumphs you need. Looking at the numbers, the community should be unlocking the Empyrean Foundation Triumph soon.

We gave you quick look at some upcoming armor changes and we'll continue to unveil details on what else to expect next Season in the weeks to come.

For the millionth time… Let enhancement prisms and ascendant shards also drop in ‘Destiny 2: The Game’ and not just ‘Nightfall: The Repeat’

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 07:33 AM PST

I still cannot believe Bungie wants us to play the same nightfall over, and over, and over, and over again for the only two materials in this game that are actually worth it.

Let them drop in Raids, from completing Iron Banner bounties, rank levels, rank resets, small drop chance after matches or strikes, earning titles. But also super rare drops from adventures, planetary chests or public events. Whatever.

INCLUDE Destiny 2 for players to earn enhancement prisms and ascendant shards and not just Nightfall: The Repeat. That way THIS WHOLE GAME would be exciting to play.

Excluding the most important materials from 95% of the game is one of the weirdest decisions you can make. What if gunsmith materials could only be earned from crucible matches? Or enhancement cores only from strikes? Or legendary shards only from Gambit? How F@#%$#* boring this game would be!

And don't come with that "Nightfalls are endgame" argument. Raids, Iron Banner bounties, rank resets, glory ranks, et cetera can also be added to that list. Pretty much every week some Youtuber posts a nightfall workaround where you can speedrun the Nightfall in 10 or 12 minutes and kill the boss in a few second with a shotgun shouldercharge combo or whatever. Is that endgame? I think it's harder and takes longer to finish a raid, earn a title, reset infamy rank or reach glory rank 2100, 3000, 4000 or 5500. Yet those activities award ZERO enhancement prisms or ascendant shards.

The gist: The harder the activity the higher the drop rate. The easier the activity the lower the drop rate.

Put the game down and take a break if you are bored

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 04:47 AM PST

Players expecting Bungie to cater so a small subset of players who don't put the game down (relatively speaking), is not only unreasonable, it's also impossible. Expecting them to build a game for someone who treats it like a full time job is just not realistic.

If anyone has burnt through the content and run out of enjoyable things to do then just walk away and put the game down.

Coming from a player who has fluctuated between hardcore and casual since D1 beta....and someone who has been upset about content droughts in the past. But sometimes it's healthier just to put the game down and experience life outside the screen

EDIT: This post was not made to say that either side (casual/hardcore) doesn't matter. I wish that everyone could be happy and entertained all the time, but once again, that's just not a reasonable request. I love this game as much as anyone else, but we all need to set reasonable expectations (just like in life) and play/appreciate the game for what it's worth.

Why can you farm 980’s in sub 20 mins for exotics but whenever you reset your valor you don’t get one guaranteed yet it takes 10x longer?

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 12:59 PM PST

    Seriously why don't you?

    Pros: gives pvp players exotics

Cons: literally none, even the pve players benefit when they play pvp

EDIT: Thanks for the gold kind stranger, this blew up way more than I thought it would.

Invest fractaline? Donate fractaline? No... DELETE FRACTALINE

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 04:44 PM PST

Listen up good people of the city, I'm afraid you've all been lied to. For over a week now, Destiny's biggest content creators, Reddit posters and even those evil community managers themselves have been coaxing you into donating or investing your fractaline. I'm here to tell you they are manipulative and conniving, they are only trying to use you for their own gain.

Well here's what I have to say... Delete fractaline! Fight the power! Feel the adrenaline course through your veins as you hold down the dismantle button and deny these sirens their satisfaction!

Please give the Reckoning treatment to Black Armory Prototypes

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 06:12 PM PST

    Title, essentially.

Black Armory brought a good number of new weapons ASIDE from the ones in the frames. Some people doesn't even know that, because their droprate is absolutely low - which makes trying to farm for them almost impossible. You can - literally - stay an entire day inside a forge and see absolutely none of the prototypes

Which is a shame, because there are some pretty good weapons among them. Baligant, Swift Ride, Atalanta-D, hell, I'm still using the Snapshot/Moving Target Show of Force I somehow managed to drop. The point is, you can't grind for weapons you barely see. Which brings me to the Reckoning - which used to have essentially the same problem - you could go days inside and see no weapon at all. Then Bungie ramped up the drop chance and did so that every run without seeing anything drop would ramp up the chance of seeing a weapon drop in subsequent runs.

Which I do think the Black Armory forges would GREATLY benefit. Between the 10 prototypes, you could do so that some of them dropped more frequently at a determined forge, like:

    • Volundr Forge: Acalantha-D XK8434; Atalanta-D XG 1992
    • Gofannon Forge: Bad News XF4354; Baligant XU7743
    • Izanagi Forge: Show of Force XF4865; Tango-45 XK5094; Swift Ride XE8375
    • Bergusia Forge: Dead Man Walking XX7463; Galiard-42 XN7658; Hoosegown XE5837

That's only a general example, but like this, not only the drop pool doesn't get absolutely cluttered, it respects the 4-day rotation of the forges themselves, allowing people to go for what they want inside specific forges, and the prototypes would become more desirable as well.

Banshee makes weapons. The loot you get from his Weekly Challenge packages should always be a weapon.

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 06:24 AM PST

The Empyrean Foundation event really highlights the parts of the UI that could use a lot of love.

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 08:57 AM PST

Donating fractaline at 100 a pop, roughly 3-4 seconds for each 100. On paper that's "pff, 3-4 seconds is nothing!" Yeah but what happens when you have fractaline in the 10k+ range? I've seen dudes showing off their 200k+ Resonance Rank on Twitter and can only imagine how long donating all of that would actually take.

Now do that next week and the week after when you're raking in even more fractaline than the previous.

On top of 400 fractaline being the amount you need to drop to complete a Time-Lost weapon bounty, the fact that dropping 400 at a time isn't even an option is kind've...baffling?

Just imagine the convenience of being able to drop as much fractaline as you wanted at a mouse click or button press. I imagine this would go over great for those who just wanted to participate in the event and gave 0 fucks about any of the weapons or have already gotten the rolls they wanted.

One of the most egregious problems with the UI is the inability to purchase things in bulk. Have you noticed that instead of adding a quantity slider to inventory items that are commonly purchased in bulk they just added a bulk option of about x5? Raid banners come to mind. Buying Light-Infused Fractaline one at a time feels so fucking ass backwards for a game in 2020 that expects you buy these things by the boatload.

Imagine being able to walk up to the Spider, hand him 200 legendary shards and getting a stack of materials in one shot instead of having to click and hold 200 times in a row?

Why do you have to punish our time spent in game with this archaic system of buying either 1 or 5 of a thing at a time?

Stepping away from just vendor related things - Armor 2.0 has taken the entire community into a more by-the-numbers approach. We can easily see how much Recovery, Mobility, or Resilience a piece of gear has. Both the Armor 2.0 system and the guns in game use a numerical value system yet Bungie chooses to completely hide one over the other.

Why the fuck do we still have to use 3rd party apps or websites just to get the numerical values on our Gun stats?

Like Range, Stability, Handling etc. It's especially tiresome when you have mods like Targeting Adjuster that slaps +5 Aim Assist to any gun it's on. Now think about other mods like Counterbalance or Icarus Grip.

Hell even moving away from hard stat related mods - imagine if the Rampage Spec mod told you it extended the time by 1 second instead of just the vague "increases duration of Rampage."

Now take a look at the seasonal mods we get from the Obelisks - these straight up tell you how much of a stat you're gaining or losing! +20 or -10, easy peasy. Why do only these mods get the numerical data displayed in game is beyond me.

Not only is Aim Assist as a numerical value hidden in the game (unless you use a 3rd party app or website as mentioned above) but the mods actually affect them numerically - meaning you'd have to tab out or pop your phone out just to see the actual numerical values.

Then you have perks like Accurized Rounds or scope/barrel perks that vastly alter Range/Handling/Stability stats.

Having to go to a 3rd party app or website, especially right after a patch or hotfix when these things get knocked outta sync, for stats that should really be in game just adds on more of the downtime you go through just wanting to play the game.

We're already experiencing crazy ass load times to the Tower and just getting into Crucible matches - we shouldn't have to spend minutes at vendors because we just don't have the option to buy in bulk. We shouldn't have to tab out to compare Range stats on the same gun with different rolls. The downtime adds up. A lot actually.

I don't expect these changes to get implemented overnight or anything, but it'd be great if they were considered sometime. If ever.

Massive Breakdown of the Sundial Weapons (Including Stats, Times-to-Kill, and Recommended Perks)

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 12:28 PM PST

If you'd like to hear more in-depth discussion of these weapons, check out the Massive Breakdown Podcast Episode 147!

    Several Things to Note:

    • This is not a comprehensive list of every perk available in the pools, just the ones I recommend.

    • Classes are broken down into Impact Archetypes.

    • These are strictly my opinions, so I'm very aware that a lot of people will probably disagree with them.

    • The Bolded Perk/Perks in each slot mean that I recommend using them the most. If there are no bolded perks, it means that I feel any of the listed perks are fine to use in the slot.

    • Pros and Cons are determined by comparing weapons within the same class, not by all weapons in general, and not by only the weapons within the archetype. If you would like a different or more specific comparison than what I have listed, feel free to ask and I can provide one in the comments.

    Sidearm

    Aggressive Burst

    Breachlight - Kinetic

Pros - High range, aim assist, and mag size.

    Neutral - None.

Cons - Very low stability and recoil direction. Below average reload speed. Low handling.

    • Time-to-Kill: 0.73s (2.5 bursts, 3 crit 2 body), 0.83s (3 bursts, 6 body)
    • Rate of Fire: 325
    • Impact: 56 (45 crit, 33 body)
    • Range: 53
    • Stability: 43
    • Reload Speed: 31
    • Handling: 41
    • Mag Size: 24
    • Recoil Direction: 82
    • Aim Assist: 83

    Recommended Perks:

    • Sights - Chambered Compensator, Polygonal Rifling, Smallbore, Corkscrew Rifling
    • Magazine - Tactical Mag, Flared Magwell, Steady Rounds
    • Trait 1 - Hip Fire Grip, Under Pressure, Demolitionist
    • Trait 2 - Quickdraw, Vorpal Weapon, Multikill Clip, Rampage

A decent, easy to use sidearm that's very comparable stat-wise (almost across the board) to Smuggler's Word. I personally like to try to max out stability on these sidearms, being that I'm a console player and it's one of the archetypes defining weakness. Chambered Compensator and Tactical Mag can help with that. For the traits, Hip Fire Grip makes it so that you can basically take your pick of ADS or hip firing within the optimal range, and there are several decent perks in the last slot. Multikill Clip and Rampage are both okay for engaging multiple consecutive targets, and Quickdraw makes the gun feel excellent. Vorpal Weapon makes the gun surprisingly lethal against supers, but you're still opening yourself up to a lot of risk being near enough to supers to kill them with a sidearm.

    Auto Rifle

    Rapid-Fire

    Steelfeather Repeater - Kinetic

Pros - High mag size. Above average reload speed and aim assist.

    Neutral - None.

Cons - Very low range. Low stability and recoil direction.

    • Time-to-Kill: 0.83s (9 crit 2 body), 1.27s (16 body)
    • Rate of Fire: 720
    • Impact: 18 (19 crit, 13 body)
    • Range: 32
    • Stability: 38
    • Reload Speed: 55
    • Handling: 44
    • Aim Assist: 72
    • Recoil Direction: 57
    • Mag Size: 49

    Recommended PvP Perks:

    • Barrels - Arrowhead Brake/Chambered Compensator, Polygonal Rifling, Smallbore, Corkscrew Rifling, Fluted Barrel, Hammer-Forged Rifling
    • Magazine - Ricochet Rounds, Flared Magwell
    • Trait 1 - Firmly Planted/Slideways, Feeding Frenzy, Subsistence
    • Trait 2 - Swashbuckler/Multikill Clip

    Recommended PvE Perks:

    • Barrels - Arrowhead Brake, Chambered Compensator, Polygonal Rifling, Smallbore, Corkscrew Rifling, Fluted Barrel, Hammer-Forged Rifling
    • Magazine - Flared Magwell, Ricochet Rounds
    • Trait 1 - Grave Robber/Feeding Frenzy/Subsistence, Slideways
    • Trait 2 - Swashbuckler/Multikill Clip

I have to say, the gun feels good (I think it has one of the best sight pictures of any AR in the game), but I'm just not a huge fan of the 720s in the grand scheme of the PvP meta. If you spec into recoil direction and stability you can make it decently easy to control, especially with Firmly Planted or Slideways procced, but I just feel like for the majority of players staying grounded and maintaining constant line of sight will be a death sentence against the prevailing meta, which puts peak-shotting on a pedestal. Swashbuckler and Multikill Clip are both solid options in the last slot, but not necessarily gamechangers in terms of how you use the weapon.

If you do want to use this gun in PvE instead of the Crucible (which I think is the way to go), there's a ton of reload perks to help out in slot one, and I'd go for Flared Magwell in addition. Subsistence pairs great with Swashbuckler, second only in usefulness to Graverobber. I also really like pairing Feeding Frenzy with Multikill Clip. Overall there are a lot of great options here, so I think that despite their general lack of usage, this might help convince some players to try to bring ARs back to prevalence a little bit in PvE.

    Scout Rifle

    Lightweight

Patron of Lost Causes - Kinetic

Pros - High reload speed and handling. Above average aim assist.

    Neutral - Average mag size.

Cons - Low range. Below average stability.

    • Time-to-Kill: 0.90s (3 crit 1 body), 1.80s (7 body)
    • Rate of Fire: 200
    • Impact: 60 (54 crit, 31 body)
    • Range: 40
    • Stability: 39
    • Reload Speed: 58
    • Handling: 67
    • Aim Assist: 67
    • Mag Size: 15

    Perks:

    • Barrels - Chambered Compensator, Polygonal Rifling, Smallbore, Fluted Barrel, Corkscrew Rifling, Hammer-Forged Rifling
    • Magazine - Tactical Mag/Steady Rounds/Flared Magwell, Accurized Rounds
    • Trait 1 - Rapid-Hit, Full Auto Trigger System
    • Trait 2 - Explosive Payload, Vorpal Weapon, Under Pressure,

I'll be honest, I dislike 99.9% of the roll options on this gun, but there is one that I'm absolutely hunting down: High stability, Rapid-Hit, Explosive Payload. I want it so badly I can taste it, but I just haven't had the luck yet. For Lightweight scouts, especially where I play on console, stability is going to make them feel quite a bit better, even if it comes at the cost of a small bit of range. On the majority of maps you won't ever really get outside their optimal engagement distances, which is why I'm okay with it, and getting enough stability makes them into lasers. Rapid-Hit just makes it that much better once you start landing headshots, and Explosive Payload randomizes the enemy flinch which makes it a pain in the ass to try to fight against. Vorpal Weapon is also an option for taking down Supers in PvP, but I'll be honest I'd prefer to use a high-impact sniper at those distances.

    Fusion Rifle

    High-Impact

    Gallant Charge - Energy (Solar)

Pros - High recoil direction. 4 bolts to kill. Above average range.

    Neutral - Average mag size.

Cons - Very low stability, reload speed, handling, and inventory.

    • Charge Time: ~860 ms
    • Bolts to Kill: 4
    • Impact: 95 (48 per bolt)
    • Range: 53
    • Stability: 31
    • Reload Speed: 24
    • Handling: 27
    • Inventory: 22
    • Aim Assist: 61
    • Recoil Direction: 76
    • Mag Size: 5

    Recommended PvP Perks:

    • Barrels - Polygonal Rifling/Chambered Compensator, Smallbore, Corkscrew Rifling
    • Magazine - Particle Repeater/Liquid Coils
    • Trait 1 - Hip Fire Grip, Demolitionist, Auto-Loading Holster
    • Trait 2 - Tap the Trigger, Rangefinder, Swashbuckler, Rampage, Multikill Clip

    Recommended PvE Perks:

    • Barrels - Polygonal Rifling/Chambered Compensator, Smallbore, Corkscrew Rifling
    • Magazine - Liquid Coils
    • Trait 1 - Auto-Loading Holster/Grave Robber, Demolitionist
    • Trait 2 - Swashbuckler, Rampage, Multikill Clip, Lead from Gold

Ah, I seen the problem here. This is a high-impact fusion rifle, but it's not Erentil! Pass.

Realistically, it's not going to stack up in PvP, even with a god roll of max stability/Liquid Coils and Tap the Trigger, it just won't compete in Crucible, so let's move on.

In PvE, unfortunately, this gun seems like almost every perk on it is pushing it in the "add clear" direction, and high-impacts just don't excel there. You'd be better off using something with faster charge time and higher inventory to wipe out the red bars, and unfortunately outside of Swashbuckler there isn't really a lot that helps you to kill shielded enemies or yellow bars, which is where the high-impacts are actually strongest. Best bet would be to go with Swashbuckler and Grave Robber and hope you can punch a red-bar before engaging anything with more health, and it does have the distinction of being the only Fusion Rifle besides Epicurian that can roll it. Outside of that, I'd ignore it.

    Grenade Launcher

    Lightweight

    Martyr's Retribution - Energy (Solar)

Pros - Very high blast radius. High velocity, reload speed, handling, inventory, and aim assist.

    Neutral - None.

Cons - Low stability. Only one shot per reload.

    • Rate of Fire: 90
    • Blast Radius: 55
    • Velocity: 76
    • Stability: 32
    • Reload Speed: 67
    • Handling: 69
    • Inventory: 57
    • Aim Assist: 72
    • Mag Size: 1

    Random Perks:

    • Launcher Tube - Quick Launch, Linear Compensator, Smart Drift Control
    • Magazine - High Velocity Rounds
    • Trait 1 - Auto-Loading Holster/Field Prep
    • Trait 2 - Rangefinder, Moving Target, Demolitionist, Lead from Gold

A very interesting intrinsic perk and the fact that it's one of only two randomly rolled Lightweight energy grenade launchers means that, if you aren't interested in dealing with Iron Banner to get the other option, this is a great choice. I personally find Marty's Retribution to be a little bit like using a Sunbreaker's Thermite grenade, and I kinda like the utility of it. Seems like it has a forgiving hit box, and I didn't have much issue hitting people, even when they were slightly behind cover. I like to try to max out velocity on these launchers, so Quick Launch and High Velocity Rounds are my go to perks in the first two slots. I also think Auto-Loading Holster and Field Prep are both great perks in the first trait slot, I prefer ALH a little more but Field Prep give a nice boost to reload speed and inventory that shouldn't be overlooked. In the last slot Rangefinder also helps with the velocity, so I'm good to go there.

    Linear Fusion Rifle

    Precision

Line in the Sand - Energy (Arc)

    Pros - High mag size.

Neutral - Average stability and handling.

Cons - Very low range and inventory. Low reload speed and aim assist.

    • Charge Time: ~533 ms
    • Impact: 41 (414 crit, 166 body)
    • Range: 36
    • Stability: 48
    • Reload Speed: 31
    • Handling: 33
    • Inventory: 28
    • Aim Assist: 60
    • Mag Size: 5

    Recommended PvP Perks:

    • Barrels - Full Bore, Hammer-Forged Rifling, Fluted Barrel, Arrowhead Brake, Smallbore, Corkscrew Rifling
    • Magazine - Accelerated Coils/Projection Fuse
    • Trait 1 - Moving Target, Under Pressure
    • Trait 2 - Backup Plan, Rampage

    Recommended PvE Perks:

    • Barrels - Fluted Barrel, Arrowhead Brake, Corkscrew Rifling
    • Magazine - Ionized Battery, Liquid Coils
    • Trait 1 - Rapid Hit
    • Trait 2 - Firing Line, Auto-Loading Holster, Clown Cartridge

Linear Fusion Rifles haven't seen much use in either PvE or PvP (despite a bug which basically gave them free ammo for the majority of this season). Line in the Sand is unfortunately nothing special for PvP, but if you really want to us it I'd try to max range for the greater aim assist at longer distances, since stability seems to have no purpose at all, with handling would be my secondary option. I like Hammer Forged Rifling or Full Bore in the barrel slot, or Arrowhead Brake or Fluted Barrel if you want handling, and Accelerated Coils in the magazine slot since you will still kill Guardians in a headshot, but with a faster charge time. If you don't want to decrease the damage, which I believe can prevent you from killing some of the higher damage reduction supers in a headshot, then Projection Fuse is the better option. Moving Target and Backup Plan are both the obvious tier 1 choices for the trait slots.

For PvE is really where I'm excited about this gun. I know that LFR aren't exactly meta now for DPS, but I'm really liking the idea of using an Ionized Battery (brings the mag size to 6, unfortunately due to rounding Enhanced Battery doesn't increase the mag size so IB is your option for more shots, or a Backup Mag mod) or Liquid Coils (for some extra damage at the cost of slightly slower charge rate), Rapid-Hit, Firing Line combo to do the damage and get quick reloads. It will put out a decent amount of damage, and if LFRs as a whole ever get buffed would be top tier.

    TL;DR

    Pretty Good

    1. Martyr's Retribution - Energy Lightweight Grenade Launcher
      • All - Quick Launch, High Velocity Rounds, Auto-Loading Holster/Field Prep, Rangefinder
    2. Breachlight - Kinetic Aggressive Burst Sidearm
      • All - Chambered Compensator, Tactical Mah, Hip Fire Grip, Quickdraw/Vorpal Weapon/Multikill Clip/Rampage
    3. Patron of Lost Causes - Kinetic Lightweight Scout Rifle
      • All - Chambered Compensator, Tactical Mag/Steady Rounds/Flared Magwell, Rapid-Hit, Explosive Payload
    4. Line in the Sand - Arc Linear Fusion Rifle
      • PvE - Any handling barrel, Ionized Battery/Liquid Coils, Rapid Hit, Firing Line

    Okay

    1. Steelfeather Repeater - Kinetic Rapid-Fire AR
      • PvP - Any stability barrel, Ricochet Rounds, Firmly Planted/Slideways, Swashbuckler/Multikill Clip
      • PvE - Any stability barrel, Flared Magwell, Grave Robber/Feeding Frenzy/Subsistence, Swashbuckler/Multikill Clip

    Not Great

    1. Gallant Charge - Solar High-Impact Fusion Rifle
      • PvP - Polygonal Rifling/Chambered Compensator, Particle Repeater/Liquid Coils, Hip Fire Grip, Tap the Trigger
      • PvE - Polygonal Rifling/Chambered Compensator, Liquid Coils, Auto-Loading Holster/Grave Robber, Swashbuckler
    2. Line in the Sand - Arc Linear Fusion Rifle
      • PvP - Any range or handling barrel, Accelerated Coils/Projection Fuse, Moving Target, Backup Plan

Polaris Lance’s explosive round should not be on a timer.

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 05:50 PM PST

The fact that Polaris Lance's explosive round goes away after a few seconds renders this weapon useless in any PVE or PVP activity because it takes time to choose a good target, and once that target's been chosen, the perk has already expired.

This would be a small change that would make this gun feel like an actual exotic. Currently, it's just not viable in any activity.

Bungie, please, if you won't give us servers at least region lock the matches

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 08:56 AM PST

I'm tired of having matches against people across the world that are totally unfun to play. A simple region lock option would be enough, I don't mind having to wait (even) more. I have streaks of totally unplayable matches at times. If trials is to come back laggy lobbies shouldn't be a thing. I can't imagine having my last match before the lighthouse against a full team of 150ms+ ping asians (with all respect to them as I appear as laggy to them as they do to me)

Wouldn't it be great if we actually had a "Season of the Redacted?"

That'd really put us in our places.

FYI I've had 800 in Silver balance before going to bed. Now apparently I..... owe Bungie a lot of Silver?? :/

I'm not sure who to report to because the Report Form doesn't work on the website given by Bungie (https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=13657) but figured I should alert Guardians out there about this issue. Check your Silver balance, fellow Guardians!

I will take it down if this is inappropriate.

UPDATE: I've just called my bank to check for account balance. Microsoft didn't/hasn't issued me an automatic refund or anything like that (yet).

UPDATE 2: Managed to contact Microsoft and they've confirmed a cancelled order on their end but wouldn't let me know their reasons of cancelling it. Told me to wait for 5 days for a refund. Guess I have no choice but to wait. :(

The ”Defeat enemies with..” crimson bounty’s isn’t tied to the crucible.

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 12:05 PM PST

Seen a lot of people trying to go for melee and bow kills. These kind of bounty's can be done on any enemy, anywhere.

Every weekly powerful or pinnacle completion should award an amount of Bright Dust

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 03:03 PM PST

Possibly scaled to size of activity or tied in with XP gains

I think this would go a long way in removing that chores feeling that bounties have and just naturally let us build up a stash

Sometimes less is more, which is why more Warlock armor should look like this.

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 11:00 PM PST

Fan art I found on the Star Wars subreddit of Starkiller. Replace the helmet with the Facade of the Hezen Lords, an ahhh, you'll have perfection.

I love the sleek, simplistic, symmetrical design. It's armored top reminds me of the Scourge of the Past set, but slimmed down for a more scholarly look. Warlock fashion can take a lot of notes I think from the Jedi and Sith aesthetics, the best known space-mages.

If your Crimson Doubles teammate leaves mid game, you should get to keep the buff

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 07:33 PM PST

Title. Had so many people randomly quit after getting pasted for one round, and now I'm left fighting a 1v2 where if I kill one, the second one gets super powers.

Would also propose a small matchmaking suspension for basically screwing your random duo over.

EDIT - I would like to say though that I've really been enjoying the playlist aside from this, it's not all bad, would just like seeing the odds evened a bit in 1v2's.

Can we not get slapped with an abandon instantly when the server kicks you from survival ?

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 09:04 PM PST

Allow us to reconnect as long as the match is still going on. Example : CSGO

Can we have The Ordeal be a strike playlist, or at least choices, now?

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 07:20 PM PST

    Title.

Elaboration: Farming the same strike over and over is boring and annoying. We've had The Ordeal for a few months now, I think we've proven that it's a fun and solid game mode.

Can it be a playlist like regular strikes? Or at least, can we have a few different choices each week like "normal" Nightfalls offer?

Restricting the number of prisms and shards we can have is in no way beneficial or rewarding.

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 01:20 PM PST

Being restricted to 10 (+10 in post) ascendant shards and 50 (+50) prisms is just stupid and pointless.

It would be one thing if I could vault stacks of 10 shards or stacks of 50 prisms I guess but I cannot.

I don't get this whole mentality of limiting stack sizes in things. Inventory space is already a nightmare, limiting stacks to such small sizes of these consumables it just stupid, toxic to players and unfun.

I have done a lot of 980's lately trying to get void Orpheus Rigs (fml rng) and as a result collected a lot of shards and prisms. Eventually I had to upgrade things I did NOT want to upgrade or lose shards and prisms. How is that fun or a good use of these materials, Bungo?

I don't know who's brilliant idea this was (probably Luke, every shit idea seems to be his), but this needs to be revisited.

At the very least let us vault stacks of them so we aren't wasting them masterworking items we did not want to masterwork because we were out of space.

Why is everyone ignoring dmg Twitter?

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 10:05 AM PST

The way I read it, he's basically begging us to donate. He's dropping hints without just coming out and saying it. Probably even some content we'll unlock early if it finishes quickly. No doubt there is enough fractaline out there to get to 6b today. Whykeep investing???
