Just a reminder that Solstice armor 2.0 is still useless and this is problem is just straight up being ignored.

edit: since it's Solstice related, I might as well add that Voidstreak sparrow trail was never looked upon either

Bungie, please nerf EV store. It's the only place we get new armor design for months!

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 04:51 AM PST

For a very long time now the only place we can get new, cool armor design is from the EV store. Time to nerf the EV store.

In all seriousness: if bungie is putting as much capital into the store and not investing it back into in game armor design then fine.... That's their choice and a way to make money. Combine that with the fact that there is no duplication protection then we are forced towards spending silver. Again that's still fine, it's a way of business for them.

But......Since bungie is in the mode of "revert changes back to what they once were", then the bright dust economy needs to be restored to what it was. Give us bright dust when dismantling bright engram items. This is a situation of them having their cake and eating it too, ultra greed.

Edit: whoa, first page and all these awards. Thanks everyone.

Also: primary point is that the EV store needs a reworking like everything else gets looked at. If game play can be changed, so can EV. Duplication protection and improved BD economy is a MUST.

Edit 2: this is about much more than just armor. The entire EV store has a ton of items that make the "new items" unbalanced in favor of the store over IN-GAME.

Edit 3: Wow. This blew way more than I thought. I know there's a lot of viewpoints on this subject. At the end of the day, it would be nice if there was more transparency in what Bungie's intentions are on how the EV store is directly effecting the game. If they say to just put more into the EV store, then so be it, but more understanding is better than all the bickering.

Edit 4: for the record, I love this franchise. THOUSANDS of hours logged. I want franchise success but I also want a friendlier EV experience. As my original post was out for: revert back to older BD economy. It was poking fun at the recent Sniper nerfs but this turned into way more than that.

What the fuck even is New Light now

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 10:56 AM PST

This shit is so fucking confusing and you end up doing quests and missions that are completely misaligned with the story.

Not to mention you have a million quests thrown at you all at once. I'm on my friends account doing it all for him because he's too confused how.

    Seriously, what was Bungie thinking??

Community Warning: There’s a good chance the Rasputin cutscene was just a way to transition to next season and the supposed “conflict” between Rasputin and Osiris will be just another story thread left hanging with zero explanation

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 01:17 PM PST

After 5 years, I've grown to expect blue balls from this game and I absolutely recommend all of us do the same.

Bungie has seemed to be unwilling to tell a cohesive story thus far. Despise seeing small flashes of brilliance, and even though we have had plenty of promises saying otherwise as of late, we should really tread lightly at this point.

(Edit) - To clarify, I think it's just a way to say, "hey, we're going to Mars now, rasputin wants to talk to us."

And then we'll forget that Osiris actually said anything to Rasputin. I'm not saying Trials won't be a thing, or that Saint 14 will disappear, but what I AM saying, is that this "choose a side" idea being thrown around won't ever have the chance to manifest because this cutscene could just be an isolated event that won't ever be acknowledged again.

So many massively upvoted threads with constructive arguments about the new round of shenanigans from Bungie. Not a single "Bungie replied" On them.

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 06:57 AM PST

    Loud and clear.

Edit: This bit of sardonic criticism is not meant as a call to revert any changes. Would like a bit more clarification based on some great arguments that were brought up.

Edit 2: I know it isn't the goram weekend you nerfherders! Dylan deserves his weekend but my post is targeted towards those responsible for changes, not those who communicate FOR such people.

Edit 3: This is descending into madness now. I don't want changes reverted, subverted, perverted, or otherwise! I want more than "we changed it cuz we felt we had to". Well why? Arguments were made both for and against it that were well constructed! (Amidst cries of circle-jerk, bad devs are bad, rabble rabble) I want discussions from the people who make this damn game, not just a blog post every week. Dev commentary stream, sandbox team q/a, etc. I know those are difficult cuz salt and time. But they go a long way towards keeping a community appraised. Warframe prime time is one example I recall off the top of my head.

The legend of Hank the Shank, Randal the Vandal, and Greg the Dreg.

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 01:36 PM PST

Kids? Did I ever tell you about the doomed adventures of Randal the Vandal, Hank the Shank, and Greg the Dreg? If not, I'm telling you anyways.

Way back when the Fallen thrived

    And the Ahamkara sighed

    There were three fallen folk

    One of steel

    One with cloak

    And the one called "broke"

    These fellows would scamper about

    Always make their captains shout

They were surely idiots, no doubt!

It happened upon them one day

    While moping in Meridian bay

    That they could be cool

    By just killing Master Rahool

Greg the Dreg began with a smile of sour,

"We go at the eleventh hour,"

And catch the bastard in the shower.

    Make him shiver and cower

Thorn 'em for his crimes against the tower!"

But, Hank the Shank suggested a better way

    to make the trollarch pay

"At dawn we must away! Give the scamarch a legendary,

But switch it to a blueberry!

Hahaha! The pain before his eyes

    Will confirm his demise."

Randal the vandal chuckled at these plans,

    "My friends! Don't you realize?!

    We go about in disguise

Hank and Greg as guardian guys

with engrams in hand to offer.

Then I leap out of nowhere with

    my shrapnel launcher

And teabag him with perfect posture!"

But none of their plans went well

For when they reached the tower,

    It all went to hell.

They were confronted by a broom bot of power

Whose corn husk instrument could silence the screams of a thousand floors

And do the dirtiest of chores.

The bot pushed them back with every sweep

    The trio could only weep

That maybe the bot would overheat

But The Corn Broom beats all

As this was the trifecta's fall...

Nowadays, Randal and Hank are longer dank.

The two hide in the forgotten shores. Where corn might never haunt their internal wars.

    Greg but roams about

But never forgets the broom blowout.

Next season, let the iron banner quest be shared across all characters.

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 02:57 PM PST

I hate it when I'm being detrimental to the team because I need to get x kills with something or do something regardless of if the team wins or not. Because my objective is to finish the quest, not help my team or do what's needed at that moment.

I hate this game when I'm being forced to do something and love it when I don't care about these quests,xp and just play with whatever I want. I'm pretty sure nobody asked for the artificial grindwall for a game mode that already is awful when all I see are names from across the globe. And wow, are these people toxic.

Oxygen SR3 Holo sight (an optional scope)

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 07:22 AM PST

    https://i.imgur.com/sHbYZO7.png

Optional sight choice for the rifle (make the Polygonal Rifling built into the weapon)

    • Original scope- Zoom +15 , Range +10 , Handling -5
    • New Holo scope- Zoom +3 , Range +5 , Handling +10

I'm not the best when it comes to conceptional design, but this is kinda the idea. Had this when the weapon came out and I wanted to bring the idea back. Would definitely make it feel better with the increase in handling.

This is an old topic I wanted to bring back up. Also, I am still on board with merging the Dragonfly and Meganeura perks while adding Rapid-hit or at least Moving Target to the original Dragonfly column. If/when strikes, crucible, and their respective vendors/loot get updated, the Oxygen should be addressed as well.

EDIT: all the upvotes are amazing! TY. I would love to see if someone in the art community could push this idea a bit further. I know there are a bunch of amazing Destiny weapon designer fans out there.

More “Iron Banner” and less “Iron Bounty”

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 08:46 AM PST

    Title

I really miss back in Destiny 1 (I know really original beginning) when Iron Banner was being played to get armor and weapons. Iron Banner used to be sorta magical, with its sick armor and OP guns. Now all iron banner is worth is the bounties. The guns are all just about garbage w/the slight exception of the wizened rebuke and they look horrid. the armor can be cool but it's being recycled. And now the only reason people play iron banner is to get the pinnacle drops from the bounties. And once their done with the bounties they touch crucible for the rest of the week

Now Bungie I know you don't want to bring back old d1 armor and weapons but at least come out with original weapons or armor every 2-1 seasons like what you currently do with the arrival of a new shader every season.

24 Things About Destiny Music You Didn’t Know

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 12:09 PM PST

EDIT - I am SO sorry about the broken formatting on mobile. It looks fine on desktop, oddly enough. I went ahead and removed the hyperlinks. I think later I'm going to make a comment that just has links to the pieces mentioned so it's not horrible for mobile users.

Hey guys! Was bored and decided to write down some things about Destiny music I can almost bet no one here knew. Every one of these is 100% completely true (or at least they're things I've heard from various people). Let's get going.

    1. You know that super famous Horn part at the very beginning of Track 1 from D1, The Traveler? That was written by Paul McCartney.

    2. Everyone usually likes to assume that Marty was the guy behind most of D1, but actually, there are at least 20 well known tracks that were not written by him. C Paul Johnson wrote 15 tracks, and Skye Lewin (who was uncredited) wrote 7 of them. C Paul wrote tracks such as The Last Array, Tranquility, Sepiks Prime, Cabal Stomp, Eye of a Gate Lord, and more. Skye wrote tracks such as Ishtar Sink, The Vex, The Fallen, and more.

    3. Following up on this, you know those patrol drums in the Cosmodrome? A good bit of those were written by Stan LePard, who has contributed to every Bungie release since Halo 2. Stan also wrote the percussion in the tracks Narthex, First Challenge, and King of the Mountain. He also wrote various other parts that you'd probably recognize in various parts of the game.

    4. I believe the melody to the track "Guardian" (D1 Title screen) was written by Michael Salvatori.

    5. Untold Legends uses themes from 5 other Destiny tracks. These are Guardian, The Ecstacy, The Rose, The Hope, and The Tribulation. This is the most different themes any track in the series has ever used.

    6. The Warmind isn't its own track, but rather a combination of two other tracks. To start, they took the percussion stem to The Union, and stretched the audio from 150 BPM to 140 BPM. Then the main melody to the track is from the ending of The Rose.

    7. In the Portico (ship jumping puzzle) in King's Fall, the music that plays is Eye of a Gate Lord slowed down to a fraction of the speed.

    8. The track "To Be A Warlock" is an excerpt from The Tribulation arranged for choir, being played backwards. In the game, it plays both backwards and forwards at different parts of the Stormcaller mission.

    9. For the music theory people, the track Fallen SABER is basically The Rose 2.0. The Rose is in 16/8, split up into 7/8 and 9/8. Not only does Fallen SABER use motifs from The Rose, it's also in the same key and is also in 16/8.

    10. Path to Oryx and Regicide are one track, just split into two on the soundtrack. That's why one sort of leads into the other. Also, C Paul Johnson wrote these.

    11. The Dark Below music credits Marty because it quotes a part of The Path. That's cool, because The Path is the piece of music that represents the Moon, which is where The Dark Below takes place.

    12. The piece "Eighth" is not actually called Eighth because it's from the 8th track in Music of the Spheres. It's because the progression of pieces in Music of the Spheres makes up the Lydian flat-7 scale, and The Hope (the 8th track) is one octave above The Path, the first track. An octave is also called an "eighth."

    13. The staccato strings in Shadow Thief were among the only parts of House of Wolves where they didn't use live strings. They couldn't get the string players to play the notes short enough, so they used samples. (I think this one is true, I heard it 4 years ago, so I may remember it incorrectly. Take it with a grain of salt.)

    14. Whenever they credit Marty after Vanilla D1, it's because they use a melody he wrote in the piece they credit him for. This doesn't mean he worked on them. For example, Shadow Thief uses a melody from The Hope, and Shadow of the Walker uses a melody from The Rose.

    15. The two released tracks from The Dawning ("The Dawning" and "Winter Voyage") credit Michael Salvatori, Skye Lewin, and C Paul Johnson as having written that music. C Paul Johnson did not work on these, and the correct credits for both are Salvatori/Lewin/O'Donnell. The Dawning uses a theme from The Path, and Winter Voyage uses a theme from The Tribulation.

    16. I'm not sure if this was intentional, but it's something I've noticed in my journey of arranging Destiny music. The piece "The Dawning" is built off piano arpeggios. These arpeggio notes are the exact same notes as the Harp arpeggios in The Ruin, which also explains why they credit Marty for this track. The Dawning and The Ruin are also both in E Major. I have absolutely no idea if this was intentional or not, but it's definitely cool! If this was intentional, then you could say that The Dawning is sort of a Christmas version of The Ruin. Take this one with a grain of salt though.

    17. Bungie's orchestrator, Laurence Berteig, occasionally edits music for them. He has a composition credit for Elegy from RoI, and Traveler's Promise (Reprise) from TTK.

    18. The track "Journey" from Destiny 2 is intended as the motif that represents the city. This is why Journey's melody is referenced in the Zero Hour mission.

    19. The track "Gunslinger" from Forsaken was an unused track written for The Taken King.

    20. Forsaken had more people compose music for it than any other Bungie release in history; maybe even any other game release in history; clocking in at 10 different composers.

    21. The track "Eden" from Shadowkeep is transposed by a single semitone in the soundtrack release. So, say the in-game version has a B, that same note is a B flat on the soundtrack. I have no idea why they did this. It's weird that they'd change the pitch so incredibly slightly.

    22. In the Reckoning, there used to be a piece of music that played ONLY on consoles and not on PC. Then they later patched that part of the track so that the consoles matched the PC version, instead of adding the missing part to PC. I'm still working on breaking into the PS4 files to see if I can get that section back.

    23. Many Destiny tracks use non-standard brass such as Cimbassos and Flugelhorns.

    24. Being the lead credit on a Destiny track really doesn't mean anything. Every track is a collaboration. Someone could be the lead because they started the piece. Someone could be the lead because they wrote the main melody. Someone could be the lead because they did the most work. Someone could be the lead because they made the track sound good. Someone could be the lead because they sat with the engineers to finish the track so that the other composers could do other work. Always remember that everything in Destiny is a collaboration. Never credit just one person for how great the music is. I see so many people say "WOW! Michael Salvatori is such a great composer!" He IS! And so are the other 14(!) composers who have written tracks for Destiny!

    Thanks for reading.

When rocket launchers were nerfed, grenade launchers were buffed. Snipers are being nerfed, with no replacement. That's the real issue. We just became weaker for no reason.

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 06:45 AM PST

I don't mind sandbox changes to cycle stuff around and shake stuff up to feel fresh or whatever but if you nerf something, you should buff something to replace it.

When rocket launchers were nerfed, I had no use for grenade launchers. Hell, I didn't know how to be effective with them anyway. But that sandbox change forced me to learn them and now I seek them out.

This just feels like a way to artificially make stuff, like the new Grandmaster Nightfall, harder without really having to compensate from a design perspective.

I like changing the way I play to adapt to a new sandbox/meta. I don't like have my power fantasy revoked.

I got to vicariously learn the risks of shotgunning on autopilot in the Crucible

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 02:33 PM PST

We were in the last minute of an actually close Iron Banner match (a rarity when you're solo-queing). I was in a small room holding one of the control zones when this Hunter turns the corner and comes straight at me with his shotgun.
I jump back a bit try and pop him with my JKQ, he slides in trying to blow his pellets all over my face. But I'm on the edge of his guns range with 7 RES so I only lose about half health.
Now I'm trying to think quick about how I'm going to end this man and his girthy shotgun, while trapped in this tiny-ass room. Until I realise he'd slid straight in through the door, then done a 180 and crouched facing out the doorway.
Apparently not realising he hadn't in fact entirely ended any of my paracausal lives with his mad two button skills.
In this moment, with my HC in hand, I did the only thing any reasonable Warlock would do when faced with such madness.
    I slapped him.
And then went to make myself some tea while I waited for the Warlock's melee animation to finish.
Returning with my tea I was shocked to realise both that my slap hadn't killed him, and he also hadn't registered that I was behind him. And that the source of the brief white flash of his screen was in fact an indignant, open-handed slap from a Warlock.
And so I slapped him again!
And this act, this miracle. So rare as to be thought impossible by even Shaxx himself. A Warlock managing to get off his base melee slap twice(!) in a single encounter. Was so shocking that the Hunter suffered a heart attack and died.
And we went on to win the match.
So if you're a New Light, blueberry, scum of the earth, moron incapable of figuring out one of Bungie's many """obvious""" game mechanics from no information, like myself.
And you've started playing with your shotgun for the first time, enjoying how it feels when it goes boom in your hands. Remember that you can't always just go: run in straight line, slide, click, win.
    Just most of the time.
Unless you're one of those Arc Titans I don't understand with the melee ability that shoots forward like a bullet, kills you in one hit even with high Res, and seems to have a cooldown that lasts as long as it takes you to say "thank god he just used that stupid fucking charge melee on the guy in front of me, now he won't be able to kill me wi-"

Common controller options and why Destiny 2 should have them

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 12:24 PM PST

I believe Destiny 2 experienced with a controller is better off with the lower recoil values of the original Destiny. Aiming and moving with a controller in Destiny 2 doesn't feel good to me, and that's largely because Destiny 2 has no aiming options beyond a simple whole numbers, 1 through 10 range of Look Sensitivity. Solutions to this issue are typically found in the game options/settings menus, however such things are absent Destiny 2.

    Recoil

I had written a complex post including an expansive section on the topic of the difference in weapon recoil between input methods (controller, and mouse and keyboard), but that post was removed by a moderator, who cited a rule stating Reddit posts about the general topics contained in the Bungie Please reddit can not be posted to this reddit. The moderator told me that topic was a part of the Bungie Please list. I looked and there is a mega thread about it, so I will link that here. It's worth mentioning the thread itself is 7 months old, and the 3 reddit posts it contains are 8 months, 1 year, and 8 months old, respectively. They can not be voted or commented on anymore.

    I was told by r/DestinyTheGame

    • You are welcome to make a repost with a different title (not focused on the PC vs console recoil) and the recoil section removed.

Whether intentional or not, the mods of this very subreddit are negatively interfering with organic Destiny 2 feedback, and are probably contributing to the lack of Bungie interaction in the form of reddit comments, blog posts, and patch notes. Do these moderators work for Bungie, or are they players like the rest of us? The former would be an egregious conflict of interest, as this Reddit is an independent 3rd party platform and not a Bungie website. I should be able to freely talk about the recoil difference between controller/MnK.

Consider the above section about the recoil difference between controller and mouse+keyboard removed, and replaced with the Bungie Please megathread.

    Continuing on

Options available to controller users for use in adjusting aiming options to player preference

    Aim Smoothing

In an article written for Digital Trends by Michael Rougeau, Overwatch console players petitioned Overwatch developer Blizzard to improve available controller options, and Blizzard made several additions to console editions of Overwatch.

    Rougeau writes about Aim Smoothing:

    • "Aim smoothing is a feature that is designed to make aiming with a controller's control sticks more, well, smooth. It can decrease players' precision, though, making it a controversial option for hardcore players. Some Overwatch players on the game's official forum see the game's aim smoothing on consoles as particularly egregious and they have made multiple topics on it over the months, hoping to get Blizzard's attention. When a thread maxed out by reaching 500 posts the players make a new one, and so on.

Aim Smoothing is uniform across all console shooter titles in that it's function does not change. Console editions of Destiny 1 and 2, and controller input on PC, currently do not offer the choice to adjust or turn off Aim Smoothing. However, the PC edition of Destiny 2, among it's mouse and keyboard options, exists the option to adjust or decrease Aim Smoothing. This option is already on the PC version of Destiny 2, it should be available on console editions as well.

Rougeau stays on Aim Smoothing, and writes:

    • Blizzard Lead Engineer Tim Ford chimed in this week with some well-received news: 'We're going to add two options in an upcoming patch. First, we'll add a slider for aim smoothing. It will default to the current smoothing/acceleration in the game today (full smoothing, low acceleration). As you drag it towards zero, you'll get less smoothing (higher acceleration). At zero, smoothing is disabled (instant acceleration).

This is Blizzard responding to player feedback and making adjustments to Overwatch accordingly. Blizzard added an Aim Smoothing slider option to console editions of Overwatch. This hits home for me, as I've personally been writing to Bungie for years, requesting improvements to Destiny 2's available controller options. With no success, much to my own frustration.

    Sensitivity Curve (aka; Response Curve)

The article goes on, with further refined controller options for console Overwatch players:

Blizzard Lead Engineer Tim Ford continues with the addition of a Linear Sensitivity Curve

    • We're also adding a new aim technique to complement Dual Zone and Exponential Ramp. The new technique is called Linear Ramp. If you use this technique along with disabled aim smoothing, you will rotate commensurate to the angle you deflect the aim stick multiplied by your sensitivity.

How does Linear Ramp (this is a linear sensitivity curve) affect you in game? Blizzard forum user and Overwatch player "aceflibble" says:

    • If it works as advertised, yes, this will stop the inaccurate, random feeling of the controls. You will be in total control over how much you move at all times. However, because you will be in total control, that means you will be completely beholden to how good your motor control and muscle memory is. No more hand-holding by the system. If you move the stick in a wonky way, you're going to turn in a wonky way.

Another benefit for controller users looking to customize their own sensitivity curve is the very nature of a linear sensitivity curve. The game (Destiny 2 in our case) does not permit modifying thumbstick movement made by the player. Having the choice to use a linear sensitivity curve in the Destiny in-game options menu means players can use the sensitivity curve options provided in the Xbox Accessories app. Since all Destiny controller users use the exact same non-linear sensitivity curve Bungie has custom-built for Destiny, and that we can't currently change, this means if players try to use a custom sensitivity curve from the Xbox Accessories app, neither the Destiny sensitivity curve or the Xbox Accessories sensitivity curve will function properly. This effectively eliminates the entire slate of sensitivity curve options found in the official controller-customizing app from Microsoft.

    Button Mapping

From my own perspective, the existing button mapping preset options are sufficient, but button mapping options in Destiny still do not freely allow the choice to remap individual buttons at-will. Fortunately, this gap is filled via Xbox Accessories, which can be downloaded for free from the Xbox Store on the Xbox.

    Look Sensitivity

Equally important, Look Sensitivity for controller users is limited to a value represented as "10" in the options menu. Pretty simple solution here, this value should be doubled to 20, with decimal points added so players can choose Look Sensitivity values such as 3.5, 12.2, 5.5, 15.6, 7.8, etc etc. This is a more inclusive and precise system for choosing a Look Sensitivity setting. PC Look Sensitivity already goes to a maximum of 100. I personally don't think controller users need to use 100, but surely a bump up to 20 is more appropriate and in line with experiences in a majority of other console shooters.

Thanks for reading, I spent a good deal of my time on this, I appreciate your comments and upvotes!

    TLDR

Revert recoil of console editions of Destiny 2 and controller users on PC back to the player preferred recoil of Destiny 1 (megathread here). Add popular aiming options commonly found in other shooter games, which are sorely absent Destiny 2.

How did I cheat killing Enkaar (Last Word final quest)

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 09:36 PM PST

I have to admit, I'm not a sharpshooter and I really suck in PvP, so Last Word is not one of my favorite weapons, but hey it's a quest and I just want to finish it.

So last night I started the last quest of Last Word and when I figured that I have to be quick in killing Enkaar, I cursing Bungie for this, I really did. It took me 155 retried to do finish it and no, not because my skills got better, but because I cheated it.

So I played using Warlock with the help of "Well of Radiance" I've managed to cheat the last kill. I wanted to share the video of my proud unskilled talent, there might others who are as bad as me in aiming and shooting XD

God I really hope next season is good

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 08:34 PM PST

My friends list and clan has been pretty much dead since the third week of the season. Year 3, thus far, has just been a complete failure in every single way besides garden of salvation, in my opinion.

    • armor 2.0 failed
    • artifact mods have been a failure due to weapon restrictions
    • the loot system is bloated, boring and uninspired
    • crucible sucks horse cock
    • ritual weapons are lame as hell and may as well not exist. We went from eating filet mignon, to getting moldy bologna
    • no exciting activities
    • no incentive to play
    • nerf nerf nerf nerf nerf

I hope next season is good and brings people back.

If you're considering trying to get Luna's, NF, or any other PvP pinnacle on PC but don't really enjoy PvP...

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 12:45 PM PST

Don't do it. Stay casual and just try and have fun. I spent this entire season getting Luna's and Not Forgotten as a player who has played a ton of a PvP (for quests/bounties) and has always disliked it, and came out disliking PvP even more. It took me approx. 600 matches.

Solo survival can be fun up to a certain point, but becomes super toxic beyond 3500. Matchmaking starts to become highly against you, lag becomes an issue as foreign players start to populate more and more, and the builds being used are 99% the same, with the lucky player who got Spare Rations to drop with RH/RF somehow on every team you play.

You can try playing as a team instead of solo, but it gets even worse, especially if you're playing at off times. One out of every three matches will be against a team performing paid carries or account recoveries, with a large majority of them cheating using the newest D2 aimbots etc. Have fun getting sniped/spare rationed from the hunter 100 feet in the air doing a 720 simultaneously.

Artifact and mods in general are too powerful for PvP. The targeting mods and flinching, specifically on snipers have made it too easy to headshot, especially when under heavy fire. I've been domed hundreds of times in situations where I should have never even been hit. Luckily, very few players have abused specific artifact builds for 1 hit body shots etc. Probably because the armor system is such a pain in the butt.

If you've pushed past the BS and gotten Luna's, you'll notice right away how bad it feels compared to Thorn/SR. Aiming is really difficult and it's nearly impossible to win a 1v1 with it. Luckily assists count towards the 300 kill requirement for NF. After torturing yourself for 300 kills and somehoe getting to 5500, you'll finally receive NF and immediately feel regret as it's probably worse than Luna's.

All that time spent having a little fun but mostly frustration for two weapons that are garbage. Same goes for Redrix, which is such a time gated lame quest, I was stunned at the embarrassing steps required.

You'll probably have also started tracking your matches on Destinytracker and will have your mind blown when you realize how much work the matchmaking system needs, if the systems are at all similar. Lose a game? Here, go up against another team that has a 95% chance of winning. Oh, lost again? Try this team where you'll have a 2% chance... Oh, you won 2 games in a row? Try winning against this team that has a 100% chance.

A bonus thing I learned from all this is how much the top players are exploiting the system with ELO boosting. Take a look at the top 10-25 and you'll see tons of them winning games with the other team having all 0's. Lame.

If you're still considering it, I'd highly suggest doing it immediately after next season starts because very quickly the population deteriorates and your left with what I described above.

I'm sure I'll get downvoted but this is my experience this season. I really hope the balancing, anti cheat system improvements, and matchmaking get a bit better next season to improve overall experience. I feel like PvP is the real end game, but the experience can be pretty harsh.

TLDR: if you don't love PvP, Let Bungie iron out a few issues before attempting a run at 5500/NF/other pinnacles.

Edit: My experience in solo started getting bad at 3500, but this will change depending on the player and their true skill.

    More enemies like mini gahlran

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 03:37 PM PST

Bigger bosses like him that move and attack where the team needs to coordinate to take his shield off and damage him. Waaayyyyy more interesting and fun than shooting a crit spot that's standing still.

That's pretty much it. After reading reddit posts about boss mechanics and playing cos cause terrabah is the only exotic I'm missing, I rememberes the posts and thought yea bungo already knows how to do this. Do more of this and less of the standing in one place to shoot a crit spot till damage phase is over.

Ikora would be a good spot to pick up previous season's stuff like quests and unclaimed pass rewards

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 09:13 AM PST

Title. Ikora doesnt really get much love, and I think that putting unclaimed pass rewards and old season's exotic quests like devils ruin would fit there pretty well since she's always reflecting on the past.

Just spend 11 hours in GoS to get divinity, went through many people leaving and new people joining...

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 08:25 AM PST

All just for one dude to say "let me switch accounts to get it on there". We wait to open the chest and right when he joins...we got kicked to orbit. No one touched the second chest. 11 hours of four people's lives who didn't have divinity just wasted. I'm so tired and angry right now.
