Why can you rejoin a Survival match if you physically left, but you can't rejoin if you get error coded?

Get on this, Bungie. I don't want to see "The activity is about to end" when I know damn well that it just started.

On the topic of Hunters keeping Truesight, and why I think it's not as bad as you think.

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 09:20 AM PST

Let me preface this by saying I'm a Warlock main. (That shouldnt matter, but the climate of this reddit makes me think otherwise)

I don't think the point of the changes were to take away "Wallhax" from every class but Hunters per se. I think the point was to cement the identities of the classes. Which I've felt has been missing for a while now.

    Look at it.

Titans became tankier, health regenerating, fight after fight, brawling machines with the OEM rework.

Warlocks Sanguine Alchemy rework lets you dig your feet in and CONTROL a zone. Focus fully on the potential and utility of Rift. (Which by the way, might be a new top pick for PvE content, and digs it's feet into 1-tap Rift setups in PvP) The potential to control a zone with this rework is INSANE.

And letting Hunters keep their 2 seconds of Truesight on melee cooldown, really cemented Hunter's "Scout and provide information to the team" fantasy.

Feel free to disagree, but I think Bungie is attempting to further class identity, while focusing on diverse teams being meaningful. Not every class needs the same ability. This isn't a game about who gets what, but about what each player brings to the table, in a FIRETEAM. I personally hope they continue pushing the bar with class identity.

That's my hot take for today.

    Edit: fixed a word

Edit 2: Thanks for the awards! But also thanks to the people adding constructive criticism/ideas to the discussion! This thread has been interesting (and sometimes painful) to read. :)
    Stay passionate, gaurdians.

Calling it now: the season after Season of the Worthy WON'T be about Uldren, and it WON'T be called Season of Redemption or Season of Resurrection.

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 01:47 AM PST

And if it is, I'll down an entire bottle of soy sauce in honor of Cayde.

And yes, I'll film it and upload it to the Creations page on bungie.net

Edit: Okay, so that will probably kill me. Tell you what. I'll do an entire bottle of Fireball instead.

My friend's wholesome reaction to me getting Ace

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 08:10 AM PST

    https://youtu.be/EEGZUTq7WxQ

(Don't mind my horrible aim and airy laughter, I've been playing games since forever but D2 is my first shooter so I still suck lol)

So my friend got me into D2 a few months ago after a long time of trying to get me to play (I'm more of a melee sword-swinging gamer, and have always actively avoided FPS games). He's been helping me through it very calmly and patiently, since I'm a complete noob at it and he's a D1 vet.

Like pretty much everybody, I totally loved Caydes character (I even cosplayed as him lol) and naturally wanted to get Ace of Spades. However, with my horrible aim and therefore my inability to get any kills in crucible, let alone precision kills, I was struggling HARD.

After a long time of trying, I finally buckled down one day while my friend was at work and just farmed crucible for hours on end until I completed it.

His reaction to me finally completing something relevant in the game was funny and totally wholesome. Thanks u/CaptainDamnitt for putting up with my nonsense and helping me learn! :)

Titans stand tall when times are tough

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 11:59 AM PST

    Fellow Brother and Sister Titans!

Not going to lie, we have tough times ahead. It seems like that we have come out the worst from the changes in Season of the Worthy. It is not enough that they have weakened our barricade to special weapons and removed tracking from One Eyed Mask, our brand new Eververse seasonal armor looks like they have been taken straight from a dead homeless cabal psion.

You know what? I don't care. Titans are not Titans because they have an easy life. We have been shaped by numerous trials and battles where thousands have fallen. We strive during difficult times. When enemies are tough, we greet them with a shoulder charge. We run towards the fire. We are not discouraged by adversity, we embrace it.

In the next season, when things are difficult, remember this. Because

    Titans. Stand. Tall.

Hey DTG! In the process of finding a lot of the scannable items I've stumbled upon several out of bounds that either have interesting terrain or amazing screenshots. Here are 8 that I took just now in trip to the pyramidion (outside of the strike). These are all taken in 2560x1440p.

6 months and yet Rifleman lore page is still bugged. Can you fix this, Bungie? Lots waiting for Chronicler seal.

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 09:38 AM PST

By Thy Tongue Be Damned is unobtainable for months. It is required to complete the Chronicler title. So many guardians are waiting for the fix but still nothing for months, Bungie.

So many times reported. Both forum and subreddit. Yet no response. No fix. Nothing.

Chronicler seal is unobtainable without this lore page. Today after 2 months of waiting, The Rifleman heroic adventure is on but sadly not fixed.

Now we have to wait till April end and hope it is fixed.

Hey Bungie, this new season format is pretty good. I think it would be healthy to add even just 1 Crucible/Gambit/Strike content per season.

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 04:02 PM PST

Now, I'm not suggesting it has to be each game mode every season, but here's how I picture it.

    • Season 9:, include 1 new story strike/nightfall, vendor refresh
    • Season 10: introduce a new Gambit map, bounties, gear or ornament refresh.
    • Season 11: Introduce a new Crucible map, bounties gear or ornament refresh, game mode (capture the flag, anyone?)
    • Season 12: Introduce a new Raid or Lair, maybe just a new PvE activity of some sort that is permanent (horde mode, something like that)

I don't know, just a thought. What do you guys think?

Bungie, something a LOT of other MMO(esque) games do that Destiny doesn't, is highly tough roaming enemies in the free roam.

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 05:28 PM PST

Everquest/Wow and other games have extremely tough non-auto agro mobs roaming around the world just minding their own business. ( and I mean something 1 guardian can't be capable of killing. Minemum of a full fire team. )

Why not grab some ahamkara/void beast/"dragon"/ or something sometime and put one roaming around on planets/patrols ? Ahamkara would be especially cool, could do an ahamkara hunt type deal or something.

Also, let us cross paths with an aphelion!!!

Edit: also, I am talking BIG baddies. Not a just strong knight or something.

    A Cutscene Library

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 01:09 PM PST

We only get to see cutscenes once and some of them have your own character in them, which is cool, but you only can only see them once for each of your characters. I want to record them and upload them somewhere, so that I could go back to those moments any time I want. Please add a collections tab where I can view any cutscene I've previously unlocked.

The Lighthouse restoration one was cool, but I didn't record it.

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 03:30 PM PST

I never see it in strike playlist nor did I even know of it's existence till a month ago... And I played all season long during shadowkeep. I think it deserves more attention. It's a great strike imo. I am told it's in the playlist just rare as hell to pop up but I've never gotten it.

EDIT: I'm expecting the grammar police... I messed up Week and used Weak... Oof

So...I log in and my hunter is just gone????

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 04:54 PM PST

I started d2 like normally during the same day as the creation of this post, loaded up my game, clicked on my hunter, and it loaded me straight into the new light campaign. All my gear is axed and replaced by the uncommon new light gear.

First things first, I would like to say that those who I have granted access to my account would have no reason to do such a thing. Only one person has direct access to my account and they have not logged in to my account around the time I lost my hunter.

A list of what was lost and what(surprisingly) was saved:

-All my weapons on the character were transferred to my vault, as well as my ship and sparrow.

-All my gear was deleted, and replaced by a single set of uncommon gear.

-No triumphs were lost, and all that I have completed that are specific to hunter are still completed or retain their progress.

I am not sure what to do right now and am apprehensive to play my other characters in fear that the same would happen.

This is a link of my steam login history, proving that no one has intentionally logged into my account and deleted this character

Dear Bungie, lightweight pulses deserve some love too!

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 04:53 AM PST

They're currently in a weird spot in pvp where they aren't forgiving as adaptives but their optimal ttk isn't as good as it should for its crit demand (.87s optimal ttk with 8c, 7c1b on high res). Rapid-fires have around .7s ttk if you hit all your crits on low res, .8s otherwise. They feel like nerfed rapid-fires atm. The handling is nice and all but it's not worth such a huge penalty to dps. Lightweight HCs are extremely good in the lethality department, they don't have a penalty for their handling... why do lightweight pulses have it...?

Anyway, just a small bump in crit damage would suffice imo, but I'd like to hear opinions on it!

    Never surrender Guardian

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 09:38 PM PST

Hearing all your comments, compliments and complaints, and all I really want is Hopscotch Pilgrim back.

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 05:02 PM PST

Pulse Rifles are my absolute jam. They have been in every game that I could find them in (Mass Effect, virtually every Call of Duty for the last 13-14 years, Battlefield, both Destiny games, and so on) but among the best ones I could find were on D1. It was a game changer when I got that Hopscotch drop I wanted from beating Valus Ta'aurc, and I'm pretty sure I used Nirwen's Mercy non-stop for an entire calendar year. Raids, PvP, strikes, the lot.

The narrative is unfortunately that these guns are for 'dads', but I don't think it's a negative thing to be a player that is slower and more considered, preferring to keep a bit of range in order to control a fight. I suppose the last one I really enjoyed using was Chattering Bone or Bygones perhaps, having not been a fan of the feel of Blast Furnace/Outbreak/Provenance or even the Broadsword. I think I've been trying to replace Hopscotch or Nirwen's, but haven't found 'the one' yet.

What if we had legendary weapons that functioned like pinnacles/exotics but had a flaw?

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 02:13 PM PST

Title. I had the thought while optimizing a charged with light build and talking about dnd with some friends. The thought came to mind because of the perk/flaw elements.

Functionally, the weapon could have a perk equivalent to Thorn's Soul Devourer or Revoker's Reversal of Fortune, something unique, but fairly powerful to that gun. However, the weapon itself contains a sort of flaw that makes regeneration take longer or weakens your grenade damage. Sort of how in the same vein that the charged with light mods will lower mobility, etc. for their benefits. Basically, it would serve as a sort of gimmick weapon that would lock you into a specific build, but it's not so powerful as to break the game.

To add a little bit more to this, I'll provide an example I've come with:

    [Auto Rifle Place Holder]
    Kinetic Auto Rifle
    Rapid Fire Frame
    Hammer Forged Barrel
    Ricochet Rounds
    Feeding Frenzy
    Auto-Loading Drain

The perk I came up with here for example, Auto-Loading Drain, would read as follows: "When super energy is full, this weapon drains super energy to sustain fire from reserves." So basically, it would function in the same manner that weapons did prior to the luna/rally nerf, but at a pretty hefty cost. Also, being that it's kinetic/primary, it likely wouldn't have the damage output to take down a raid boss. For use in PvP, you would essentially be using your super to maintain a bullet spray so you wouldn't have your super for those late game plays.

Further, I feel since they wouldn't necessarily have an exotic perk, they could be made to be legendary weapons. I'm still kind of hashing the idea out, but I at least wanted to throw something out there and see what people thought about it. If this gets downvoted to oblivion, then I understand the consensus. I'm open to opinions as well. Share what you think
