I still argue that blade barrage should throw a single anime sized sword when paired with celestial nighthawk...

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 08:56 AM PDT

Me and my buddies I play with, have talked about this since the introduction of the super back in forsaken. It would be that little bit of in game humor / badassery that I feel a lot of people would like to see.

Imagine, you're in Nightfall Ordeal and you're being pinned down by an unstoppable ogre.

    You: "OW!OWW!!!OWOWOWOWOW!!!!!! OGRE CALM DOWN!!

    Your friend: "AND I YEEEEEET"

You: watches a giant Ichigo Sword flying past him

    Ogre: dead

    Your hunter friend:🥳🥳🤪🤩🥳

    You: 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️hunters🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Edit: I did not expect this to blow up so much, thank you all so much

Sometimes I wish Destiny 2 was not a 'Free to Play' game. The servers are at an all time low and it is generally a really bad experience to play the game nowadays

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 03:03 PM PDT

I have never encountered as many Ant-eater/ Beaver or baboon errors playing D2 past few years than i have in the past 2 weeks. I have seen people get kicked multiple times from nightfalls , trials and comp games and it is so sad that despite being in year 3 of the game, the servers are still doing so bad.

I hope someone at bungie takes a note of this and fixes this soon

You don’t have loss forgiveness like Apex, and you don’t have the Rejoin option like Siege and Overwatch...so why should I lose a Trials card when your server kicks me out of the game?

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 09:44 AM PDT

If anyone wants to see the inspiration for this post ...

It's been a problem in Comp, but since their rework to how the win/loss streak worked, not many people have cared about it. At this point I can't believe at the very least a system like Apex where you get one disconnect freebie (If you do it more than once now you lose your loss forgiveness and are subject to a temporary ban) hasn't been implemented. And I'm sure they could make that system less abusable than the old Apex system was, especially when it's on their end that the disconnect is being caused (Meaning more clarity on the disconnect vs uncertain variables on the players end). This is third time I've disconnected playing trials on a wired, very good, internet, with the last time being on the last round, of the last game, ahead by 2...

Edit: I know PvP is Peer2Peer but the error code was in direct reference to their cloud servers for the game architecture.

"This error can be due to packet loss or disconnections between your home network and Bungie"

And before you say it, my brother was next to me playing The same game at the same time, was even playing trials with his friends. We're both wired. Both Xbox. I get it, sometimes servers disconnect, sometimes it's Verizon's fault, or Xbox or Bungie, but something as hyper competitive as Trials should have a smartly configured forgiveness or rejoin system.

I love the silent understanding that exists between us Guardians

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 10:19 AM PDT

A little interaction I had with fellow guardians that really made me feel like a part of something bigger.

I queued into the daily forge, hoping to get some grinding done. I had a rare bounty, a triumph, and a catalyst that I was hoping to get done, so I was expecting to have to run quite a few forges. Turns out this wasn't the case at all.

I enter, greeted by 2 strangers, we do the usual guardian thing and teabag a few times towards each other, then proceeded as the activity began. Since I was grinding out kills, I decided to just focus on killing enemies and leave the battery throwing to the other players.

This continued until 1 battery was left until the next phase. The 2 guardians must've noticed that I wasn't throwing the batteries, so they came up to me and teabagged, I of course return the favor. Then I notice that one guy took a battery and threw it to the edge of the map, we looked at each other and he nodded., seemingly signalling that he's fine with grinding.

We went on to grind for about an hour or so, and I was able to get all the kills I needed. When I was ready, I shot at the center, and they understood I was ready to move on. We killed the boss, teabagged towards each other some more, and went our separate ways.

Not a single word was exchanged, but I felt a kinship between us as guardians. In this trying time of social distancing, I'm happy to be able to still meet people I can enjoy myself with, no words needed.

I appreciate my fellow guardians a lot more through these small interactions. As Bungie (or was it Datto?) once said, I want to feel like other players matter in this game. I'm glad to be in this community.

Edit. Wooo make it 40 baby. Rookie numbers. Gotta pump those numbers up.

Edit 2. I'm such an idiot. I didn't know that the order that they appeared was the order that they shot in. I thought it was random. But I got it. I'm a proud new owner of The Last Word. Gonna go full on scrub mode in crucible.

Please update the Ikelos Weapons from Warmind's Expansion

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 11:05 AM PDT

An Ikelos SMG with Vorpal/Disruption Break and Antibarrier Rounds would be godlike. 750 SMG's melt in pvp and pve right now.

Theyve somehow only gotten better as time goes by. That and Bows....

Or at least allow the Seraph Rounds in Ikelos Weaponry from Warmind's Expansion to proc Warmind Cells.

The Menagerie Could Last Forever If The Non-Meenagerie Drops Rotated Weekly.

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 06:42 PM PDT

I would love a reason to do the managerie more often but I already have the rolls I want on those weapons. If they rotated weekly I would love to see what weapons were added and maybe get some cool rolls on weapons I wouldn't be able to get often. Additionally, it might make people use new weapons instead of sticking with their old weapons for the rest of the game because you could have a reasonable chance of getting a roll to replace it and try something new.

When you do decide to inevitably nerf auto-rifles again, I once again remind you to nerf them in PvP only.

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 11:27 AM PDT

Auto-rifles in PvE are in a somewhat OK spot right not, I'm enjoying using Monte for melee builds and occasionally Tommy's for a quick joke. However please for the love of god don't nerf Autos for PvE and PvP again. I get that people miss their 6 years of Hand-cannon Meta being taken away from them and now they can actually die to someone who's maybe not as good at the game as them but please do not nerf them in PvE, if anything Buff them more.

I'm enjoying the current change of not having to hear the sound of yet another God Roll Spare Rations shot being burrowed into my head and would honestly appreciate maybe buffing something else to compete with the Hard Light but for now, just please don't nerf Autos in PvE :(

Since I finished all three of these I wanted to make them into a desktop wallpaper kinda picture, and so I did. Didn't want to just simply put them in one picture with visible edges of each drawing, so tried to it in a more "artistic" fashion. I hope I did it right.

    Feedback from a casual player

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 01:46 AM PDT

    Dear Bungie,

Thank you for creating an awesome game in Destiny 2 and Halo before that. (I never got around to D1 because I only game on pc these days). As a long time fan and casual player I do have some feedback that I want to share with you. I am posting this both on the bungie forum and on Reddit.

In generalI feel it would be a good idea if Bungie figured out what you want Destiny 2 to be and capture that essence in a single sentence, a statement if you will. That way you can keep this statement at the forefront of your mind while you are developing and testing new content. This statement could be something like "we want Destiny 2 to be a looter-shooter where the player feels like an epic hero defending mankind". A statement like this is important to keep a focused identity because right now when I am playing the game it feels a lot more like "we want Destiny 2 to be a management game where we reward the player for checking of chores that decide how they play our game". Don't get me wrong I still have a lot of fun but if I am sitting down to play for an hour or two I first get to travel across the system to pick up bounties and when I am playing an activity I break immersion all the time to check my bounties and switch my gear.

    Specific points of feedback

    1. The difference between playing according to your bounties and playing the way you want to play is way to big: If a friend and I are sitting down to play for a couple of hours and he gets all the bounties and is constantly checking his bounties and switching gear while I was just running around shooting I will have had more fun but my friend will have made more progress. You are penalizing players for playing the game their own way.
    2. You restrict players to play a certain way because of the mods avalaible in the seasonal artifact: some people love close range gunplay, some people love long range shootouts. If you are part of the latter group you are fresh out of luck this season. By only making mods available for certain weapons you dictate players how to play. Especially when these mods are quite a significant improvement to surviving certain encounters.
    3. You want us to be short ranged but most encounters are long ranged: almost every boss has some sort of AOE stomp when you get to close which means shooting from long range is better, some encounters have plates you need to stand on meaning you can only shoot from long range. I don't think you should incentive one way of play over the other but if you do please be consistent.
    4. Void is passed over: if you fully upgrade the seasonal artifact there are some great mods for arc and a single great mod for solar (which is bugged at the moment) but nothing for people playing void. If you play void you better like swords apparently ;-)
    5. The seraph tower public event time to reward ratio feels out of balance: most public events are short, fun and give out a small reward for your time. Longer public events like Escalation protocol and the Nightmare waves have a chance of dropping special loot. The seraph tower public event is a lot of fun and takes quite some time but doesn't really reward your time well. I want to do the event to help other players but it's better for me if I grind out other activities.
    6. Warmind cells only proc reliably for the arc subclass: the warmind cells are a lot of fun but proc way to random when only using seraph weapons. Building around proccing warmind cells more reliably requires tou to go arc subclass. Also the cells are very similar to nightmare orbs (the ones that give you unstable essence)

Suggestions to improve on the feedback

    1. Take bounties out of the game and replace that with repeatable mini-achievements that offer similar rewards. Let's say I use a lot of melee, why not reward me every time I kill 25 enemies with melee. This way I don't have to break immersion to check my inventory for bounties and micro manage my loadout every 5 minutes.
    2. Make the weapon mods general instead of only applying to specific weapons. If you want people to experience other weapons consider making a SMG-only strike or something similar.
    3. Give short ranged weapons an extra perk called 'hold your ground' which reads 'when players are using this weapon they are immune to knockback and take reduced damage from AOE melee'
    4. Replace an arc based mod with void, just give them something :-)
    5. Increase the reward for the Seraph tower public event. More warmind bits and/ or a specific loot pool would be nice.
    6. Give the void and solar class a similair mod to arc so the subclasses can also build around the fun of warmind cells.

I really wish you did the followingApart from feedback and suggestions I also have two big wishes for Destiny 2.

    1. Make a sparrow that holds two or even three people
    2. Better yet give us a warthog! High on my list of what makes Halo special is the warthog, fun to drive and fun to shoot out of.

Some context about who wrote thisI'm closing in on forty and have been playing games since I was six. I used to game a lot but that has declined over the last few years due to some physical ailment (annyoing but not at all life-threatening so don't feel bad). I have played Destiny 2 ever since it came out on pc and enjoy it alot. I have missed out on some stuff recently due to my physical ailment but have been getting back into the swing of things recently. I consider myself an active casual player which means I spent a good amount of time playing Destiny but I don't do pinnacle stuff like raids, mostly because they require six people. I play as a knife throwing solar hunter build completely for close combat with a side-arm, shotgun and sword.

TL:DRDestiny 2 feels like a management game where you are heavily incentivised to checklist all kinds of bounties and play a specific way as opposed to feeling like a looter-shooter where you are an epic hero. By replacing bounties with repeatable mini-achievements and opening up seasonal mods to all guns instead of specific guns you can facilitate people playing the game how they want to play. Also give us a Warthog!

Edited: 1. Changed feedback bullet 6 and suggestion bullet 6 to reflect new insight based on a comment

Will we ever finish a storyline in this game?

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 04:20 AM PDT

I'm genuinely curious. It feels like there are even storylines from D1 that never even got an answer like the Exo Stranger and what she was talking about and why she didnt have time to explain why she didnt have time to explain.

From D2, we have had Uldron Sov be "killed" and resurrected clearly meaning that he is a guardian now, Mara Sov told us some cryptic shit and then just disappeared without telling us anything useful, The darkness can apparently be us and we have not even addressed it a single time since shadowkeep ended. I think the only storyline we have seen come to a complete end was Saint-14's story of us going through time and saving him, just for him to be an npc in the tower.

The Uldron Sov loose end will be 2 years old this year.

The Mara Sov loose end is already over a year old (if my memory of when the final visit with her was is correct)

And in a little over half a year, the darkness showing itself to us and us being abducted on to their ship, will be a year old.

Idk about anybody else but I would honestly rather have our storylines to be consistent and in fucking order. I don't know of any other MMO that does this kind of storytelling and its actually extremely annoying to be left on a cliff hanger only to have another expansion come out that is about some warlock that fucked with time or some red castle.

FINISH THE FORSAKEN STORYLINE PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD

Can we please take a look at Trials matchmaking?

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 03:23 PM PDT

How are we supposed to get a winstreak if we get matched against people that have gone Flawless multiple times and are on ridiculous winstreaks? I can't even go past two wins because for some reason that's when I'm put against vastly higher skilled players that pubstomp us. This isn't fun for us or them. Neither party gets any enjoyment out of this and there has to be a way to fix it. You can't tell me that this is normal and fair. This has been my experience with Trials every weekend so far and I don't understand how this matchmaking is supposed to work.

EDIT: Since some people seem to lack reading comprehension. I DO NOT WANT MY WAY TO THE LIGHTHOUSE TO BE EASY. That's NOT the point of this post. I want it to be challenging and difficult because only then it'll be worth it. But there is a difference between wanting a challenging and fair experience and going up against people that could probably stomp you while being blindfolded.

Ever since Forsaken came out, Destiny 2 has felt like the Marvel movies leading up to Avengers

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 10:02 AM PDT

Its like the game has been doing a combination of "this is what's happening while you're doing this"

Like, Queen Mara is gone, Ada-1 is here with her guns, Drifter has a weird game, Calus is our sugar daddy now, Eris woke some angery people on the Moon, Uldren's alarm clock went off, Ikora experimented with Linux to make a robo computer door, Osiris and Saint-14 are the best totally-not-buddy-cops, and now we've begun using Comrade Rasputin for whatever this season is about.

Now we just need the next superhero movie next season and we can finally watch Avengers.

Solve Trials’ Matchmaking Problems By Only Allowing Resets After Losses Or Flawless

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 07:41 PM PDT

No need for sbmm or matching only flawless against flawless. No need to punish people doing carries. No need for anything drastic.

Not being able to reset a passage until a recorded loss or flawless provides enough of an inconvenience to curb Elo, KD, Token farming.

Do this + allow players to turn in tokens after 'x' weekly wins or losses and save this game mode before the population drops below 100k.

There needs to be a separate bracket for full teams who have already gone flawless... Please read before down voting...

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 06:37 PM PDT

I know what you're going to say- "That's rediculous; Trials is endgame PvP. Git Gud bro!"

Now that we have that out of the way, I'd like to give my reasons as to why this is a good idea. I'm not sure how many of you payed attention in D1, but Trials started out great. Population was up, people were playing it like crazy. Then the sweats formed up, people got tired of banging their heads against the sweat enforced ceiling, and the population took a huge downturn never to recover.

In order to avoid this, I suggest changing the matchmaking so that <FULL TEAMS> that have gone flawless are matched against each other. If a team is taking a person that has not been flawless that week into trials, then they can go into the regular bracket.

Doing this will accomplish a few things:

    1) It will keep the sweat squads from farming the first couple games over and over and over and over etc...

    2) Sweats that are taking a non flawless guardian through are trying for the lighthouse, not farming. This will give the carried guardian a chance at the lighthouse for the first time that week (or ever).

    3) It will bolster the Trials population due to people feeling that they have an actual chance at the lighthouse rather than that feeling of hitting the sweat enforced ceiling over and over and over.

Let me know what you guardians think of the idea, or if you have anything you think might make better sense.

Trials of Osiris farm fest... This is no fun...

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 08:53 PM PDT

I do not post often but I need to say this. I've noticed a lot of teams that already have a lot of trails gear and they keep on resetting the card just to farm that first match. This is not cool and ruins the experience. There is 1 game every 7 that I can actually win. Rest is me being stomped by oposing team.

Claiming 3 title seals at once. AKA one of the best moments i've ever had in this game.

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 05:38 PM PDT

    http://imgur.com/gallery/2NjqzOu

After completing the savior seal last season i really got into the title grinding, couple of weeks later and i was finally able to claim Chronicler, Wayfarer and Cursebreaker on the same day. Easily one of my best achievements in the game so far so i thought it might be fun to share.

For anyone hesitating to go for seals, do it. Titles are a wonderfull addition to the game and if you're fine with some parts of collectible hunting and RNG loot. You'll have a blast.

Next seals up: Harbinger and Reckoner.

TLW is still the perfect example that PC and Console need different tuning.

    Posted: 22 Mar 2020 09:59 AM PDT

First things first i understand why they're not doing separate tuning main reason being they want crossplay to be a thing soon. But in the current sandbox in a competitive environment TLW is a bottom tier exotic.
