- Focused Feedback: Trials of Osiris
- Daily Questions [2020-03-24]
- A genuine question: literally what’s the point of the collections tab for weapons and armour of you can’t reacquire 80% of it?
- 65% Fewer Players Reached 3 Wins In Trials This Weekend
- Day 929 without the No Land Beyond
- Flawless armor should not drop below a 60 stat roll

- The children of the city must be stone cold.
- Destiny as a whole has only gotten worse, and it’s possibly the worst it’s ever been.
- After going flawless this week I attempted to help newer players reach at least 3 wins. My main observation was a lot of players weren’t actually ready for a deep trials run.
- I miss Bladedancer
- With the Grandmaster Nightfall being released later this season, I think Eriana's Vow should be put into the exotic loot pool
- Why seraph weapons doesn't have the perk "seraph rounds" from the ikelos weapons?
- Dear, New Players
- With how much people are being disconnected, being able to reconnect to the previous activity should be a priority for bungie
- We both started and ended our D1 career by killing an Archon.
- Oh so you hate Hardlight? I was born into the darkness that was Thorn
- Swords make exodus crash master ordeal a JOKE
- Warmind bits cap at 9999. New stacks go to the postmaster.
- After 5 hours and 30 minutes flat, I solo'd Chasm of Screams because I'm too stubborn to ask for help
- Anyone remember a while back when we had to choose allegiance between the Drifter and the Vanguard? As someone who has played Destiny on and off for years now, I never saw the outcome of this decision and I would love to know.
- Bungie, do make it so we "have to be there", make it so we want to be there
- My biggest fear is with how much Bungie is making off of Eververse, Destiny might never go back to being a game around the player experience.
- I know it wouldn't make sense lore-wise, but I would be totally fine if every season, Bungie just added 1-2 new encounters to the Menagerie

Posted: 23 Mar 2020 08:52 AM PDT Like yeah, you can pull year one stuff with certain rolls, like midnight coup from Levi, or maybe the old trials of the nine weapons if anyone still has those, but everything post forsaken can't be taken out from collections unless they're set rolls like Vestian Dynasty. Am I the only one who doesn't see the point of collections behind a) being a glorified checklist, and b) for sparrows, emblems, shaders and the like? Edit: laid down for a nap and my phone exploded, thanks. A couple people brought up a really good point; how would collections work with weapon retirement? That seems like a pretty big question to be asking Edit 2: Obligatory thank you for the award. [link] [comments] |
65% Fewer Players Reached 3 Wins In Trials This Weekend Posted: 23 Mar 2020 06:35 AM PDT Without making any comments on the state of matchmaking and card reset farming, according to data from players logged into light.gg here are the percentage of guardians with each trial reward. Week 1
Week 2
The week to week difference is very interesting, even if there was some error in how the data is reported. Edit 1: To try and clarify, this data does not take into account the rampant connection issues and the bug preventing people from getting rewards early in the weekend. Its impossible to define the exact impact this had. [link] [comments] |
Day 929 without the No Land Beyond Posted: 23 Mar 2020 01:45 PM PDT Dear diary, It has been 929 days since I have held my beloved weapon. My palms itch every time I think about it. Ghost tells me it will be ok just use a regular sniper but it doesn't understand no one understands the great loss of such a weapon. Other guardians in the tower make fun of me for wanting such a "useless gun" but no one understands the beauty of such a simple weapon. Hopefully one day the traveler will grace me with such beauty once again. [link] [comments] |

So, why did we stop curated rolls? Posted: 23 Mar 2020 10:22 PM PDT Curated rolls were an awesome addition to forsaken but we seem to have lost them in year 3(at least new curated rolls). But why? It made farming certain areas/activities a little bit more exciting. I used to farm dreaming city just to try and get the curated twilight oath for weeks. They weren't that different they simply added a different perk combination, i still use my curated spare rations for pve simply for overflow. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Mar 2020 06:39 PM PDT I worked hard on this Woodburning a couple of months ago. I've always found the art in this game beautiful, and when I saw the visuals at the beginning of Destiny 2, I realized I wanted to do a Woodburning of them. Hope you enjoy! [link] [comments] |
We should have a Return to the Cosmodrome event where we just all play Destiny 1 for a bit. Posted: 23 Mar 2020 05:13 PM PDT So, a few of the Dark Souls communities have events where everyone plays the games again to keep them active and help newer players and just have an overall good time. I think that a community event like this would be really cool for the Destiny community just because Destiny 1 is an amazing game and it would be really nice to refresh our brains of how amazing the game is. Trials is cool and all but can we bring back Rift (Crucible Gamemode)? Posted: 23 Mar 2020 05:41 AM PDT It's simply one of the most fun game modes in the crucible. For those who do not know, Rift is essentially a Crucible gamemode where both teams have a "Rift" at their base. The goal is to collect the "Spark" and dunk it (or backflip dunk it) to the enemy's Rift to score points. First team to score 20k wins. You can read the full info on it on Destiny Wiki [link] [comments] |
The children of the city must be stone cold. Posted: 23 Mar 2020 03:53 PM PDT The saint-14 line in trials: "I will gather the children. They love to watch you win." Imagine what they must see. "Saint-14, why does that hunter keep sitting on their heads every time he kills them? Just imagine. [link] [comments] |
Destiny as a whole has only gotten worse, and it’s possibly the worst it’s ever been. Posted: 23 Mar 2020 01:36 AM PDT I've been playing since year 1 of the original Destiny. I have 3500 hours between both games. Destiny 2 has me worried and it may just be the worst it's ever been. Perhaps my hatred towards Destiny 2 nowadays comes from the direction the game is heading in. The "content drops" hardly feel like content at all. The seasons are bare bones and their gameplay isn't permanent. They're simply a waste. The old way of releasing content was better. Large content drops every few months made each new update feel very exciting and allowed Bungie to create new gameplay that had a better lasting appeal (raids, prison/challenge of elders, raid lairs). Now with the new seasons content is sparse and lacks depth. Much of the community disliked The Drifter's season last year because it added VERY repetitive content with the depth of a puddle. Every season this year (the exception being season 8 only because of Shadowkeep itself) has felt just like season 6. The direction the game is heading in is the main flaw right now. That being said it's not the only major flaw. Loot has gone to shit. In Destiny 1 you could play raids and get ornaments for doing challenges within those raids. Those ornaments allowed for the best looking raid gear that's ever existed in Destiny. Now anything that looks remotely good is saved for the Eververse. Raid weapons are complete trash. Raid perks should return and by that I mean raid perks that actually are on the armour/weapons. There should be advantages for getting raid loot. If it's the same as everything else why bother getting excited about raid loot when it just becomes infusion fuel? I find it very odd that Bungie can get raid perks so right with Wrath of the Machine and then so wrong since then. Perhaps the most worrying thing however is the downward trend Destiny as a whole has been on since Rise of Iron. We may have been spoiled by Age of Triumph: a free update that changed so much for the better. Destiny 2's release was notoriously awful as was much of year 1 of that game. Bad loot, feeling weak in game and a downgrade from the original Destiny. Forsaken got many people excited. It was very good. But the seasons that followed Forsaken only solidified the downward slope Destiny has been on over the last 3 years. Shadowkeep sealed the deal for me. It was just more of the same. No improvements over Forsaken. Simply more mindless grinding for things that will inevitably be nerfed in the future. That being said, I still love these two games and want nothing more than for Destiny 2 to succeed. Despite that, the game has shown me nothing but how little it's advanced from its first year as a sequel. While I personally am done with Destiny for now, I expect the game to hit a resurgence and begin once again towards a positive, upward trend. After all Destiny has a habit of doing that. Posted: 23 Mar 2020 12:08 PM PDT I'm about a 1.0 player when I buckle down so going flawless isn't what I'd call easy but it's certainly achievable for me on a weekly basis. After my original team split Up I went to Xbox lfg to find some players to help as I farm tokens for a god roll shotgun. What I saw where a lot of players just where underprepared, light aside their armor wasn't well equipped, poor weapon or exotic choice and a general lack of understanding of the nuances of trials specifically. Trials is by far the most intense playlist in the game, playing it unprepared is like going into a raid blind, you're just hoping to beat you head against the wall till something breaks. I recommend most players read up at r/crucibleplaybook for tips on viable perks loadouts and strategy's [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Mar 2020 05:14 PM PDT That is all I miss the subclass and hope it returns someday. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Mar 2020 05:32 AM PDT I think that Eriana's should be put into the loot pool to make the Grandmaster nightfalls a bit easier for the people who missed Season of Undying [link] [comments] |
Why seraph weapons doesn't have the perk "seraph rounds" from the ikelos weapons? Posted: 23 Mar 2020 09:08 AM PDT is there any lore reason? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Mar 2020 09:15 AM PDT If you came here looking for information about the game, I'm afraid you won't find any. Memes? Wrong sub I'm afraid. No, this sub is reserved exclusively for "Bungie pls" posts, along side "Game is going to hell" posts. While these posts are often (somewhat) correct, they draw a bleak image of Destiny as a whole. I can only imagine coming in as a new player, seeing all of the complaining and toxicity, and just deciding D2 isn't worth your time. It is worth your time. Despite the top posts on this sub being complaints ever week, the game is still fun to play. It's an incredible experience, even solo. It might take you a while to get up to Light, but if you start raiding, there's nothing more satisfying than finishing your first raid. If you're more into PvP, climbing through comp up to legend is an excellent goal that'll keep you entertained for quite some time. Want a mix of both? Gambit isn't nearly as awful as people make it seem, most of the time. This isn't like most other RPG games I've played, where you walk around and see players with crazy gear and know it's unattainable without understanding every little detail about the game. It can be overwhelming. However, in D2, once you understand the basics, that feeling goes away. That raid gear is yours, Guardian. If you do need a question answered, the community is usually pretty friendly in that regard. I'll answer any questions you've got if it'll keep you around. TLDR; Sorry for everyone's constant complaining, Destiny is an incredible game with hours and hours of content, and is absolutely worth your time. Don't let the downers ruin your fun. Edit: I don't recall saying Bungie deserves no criticism. Most of the posts are completely valid. All I'm saying, is that it's absolutely worth a shot for new players. It kills me that the first thing they see on this sub is vets talking about it like it's garbage. This seasonal content is shit. I know. This model kinda blows compared to D1, but that doesn't mean the game isn't fun, does it? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Mar 2020 07:36 PM PDT Seriously. My team got screwed out of flawless because of my friend being beavered twice and being unable to reconnect. There's no reason that a player should be allowed to at least attempt to reconnect to an activity they just got kicked from [link] [comments] |
We both started and ended our D1 career by killing an Archon. Posted: 23 Mar 2020 10:02 AM PDT Just a random showerthought, enjoy the rest of your day. [link] [comments] |
Oh so you hate Hardlight? I was born into the darkness that was Thorn Posted: 23 Mar 2020 11:03 PM PDT Oh boohoo Bubginh hurt your feelings because Hardlight. Oh, you hate this version of Trials you say? You would have been slapped in the face 5 years ago by 3 Thorns. You would have HATED Trials. I celebrate seeing a bunch of bums shooting their lights down a hallway. You know why? Bc it gives away that they actually aren't very good if they have to count on that. Here's my point: people here have rose tinted glasses. Trials is hard now. It has a meta now. And it did 5 years ago. If you want to excel at Trials, you're going to have to get over Hardlight, how Puke Smith ruined your childhood, and get over the fact that there will always be a Thorn in your side. Swords make exodus crash master ordeal a JOKE Posted: 23 Mar 2020 07:11 AM PDT So my bro and I have been theorycrafting some strats for grandmaster ordeals and for exodus crash we figured swords would be the play. We tested our builds on the master 1030 ordeal last night and we absolutely trashed that strike on master. Got sub 18min way over 100K score. Our builds were mostly identical. Middle tree dawnblade with fallen armaments/barrier, protective light/taking charge, the new passive guard sword mod, and phoenix protocol. My brother was around 1010 and I was 1005. He ran riskrunner because it's insane for this strike and I ran eriana for the barrier servitors. The fallen/dawn mods were very helpful but not necessary. You can easily do this with just passive guard. Our 3rd was a bubble titan running divinity. He was basically a divinity bot. We didn't even really need him, but having divinity was definitely helpful for killing the boss/captains faster. He used one bubble the whole strike in the boss room and it was completely unnecessary. Basically our strategy was to chain well of radiance with phoenix protocol off each other. The whole strike we were easily able to charge each other up. When the overload captains showed up we just had a field day. We would shoot them with divinity or overload hand cannon to stun them from the well, then we would push in and wreck them with swords. Worked on every single captain. Sometimes we didn't even bother pre-stunning and just rushed them with disruption swords. You are essentially UNKILLABLE with the passive guard sword mod + fallen barrier. They cannot even hurt you it's insane. You go full god mode even at 20 light under. For the boss room we just posted up a well on one of the top areas and sword spammed the boss when he came into our well. We were able to just chain wells off each other the whole fight. We popped the barrier servitors with eriana from range and riskrunner chewed up all the ads to keep our phoenix protocol up. I don't think we ever lost our shields. Don't waste your time running legend ordeal on this one and barely struggle to get 100k. Just run master with swords and phoenix wells. It is eaaaaasy mode and you will easily get 100k just playing the strike normally. No need to draw out extra waves in the arc room or the boss room. Long live swords. TL;DR Swords are cracked this season. Use them. Passive Guard makes you pretty much invincible if you stack it with other defensive mods or WoR, and you will have an easy time with the heavy ammo economy with x2 enhanced sword scavengers or armaments. edit: I'm confident this strat will still work without passive guard next season should this return as an ordeal. Passive guard is overkill imo. Fallen barrier + protective light is still extremely potent and makes you extremely hard to kill. Not to mention you should be in a well most of the strike. You will just have to be a little more careful and use healing grenades to buff yourself when you go for the captains and make sure all the little ads are taken care of. We were able to mindlessly tear through the entire strike with swords using passive guard at 20 light under, so I'm sure it will still work without it while being a bit more careful. Posted: 23 Mar 2020 10:53 AM PDT A mix of Symmetry, Whisper, Tigerspite, with the Solar and Void hunter classes. What a trip. I've been through a lot before, but dear sweet space jesus was this something. Just wanted to celebrate my achievement on here lol Edit: if anyone plays PS4, just add Draculatte, for those who are not too fond of soloing life crushing strikes, such as: CHASM OF SCREAMS end list [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Mar 2020 12:48 PM PDT Pretty much just the question in the title. I remember it being a really intriguing moment in the game and this sub was popping off with tons of fun threads debating which group was the way to go. I remember choosing the Drifter because I love that character and I remember there being huge disclaimers before you chose along the lines of "WARNING, THIS CHOICE WILL HAVE VERY REAL CONSEQUENCES FOR YOUR CHARACTER!" Sadly, I sort of lost interest and went off with other games for a while before I found out the results. I've tried digging through Mynameisbyf videos and I haven't really found a clear and concise explanation. Maybe because there's so much content on his channel I just can't track it down. Anyway, I'd be very grateful if anyone here could provide any answers! [link] [comments] |
Bungie, do make it so we "have to be there", make it so we want to be there Posted: 23 Mar 2020 03:58 PM PDT I wouldn't have traded the first two months of the taken king or the year of forsaken. Between all the secrets, the amazing raids and depth/complexity that each offered, it was the easiest choice to play destiny over every other game. Deliver whatever amount of that you can, but make sure it's in that spirit. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Mar 2020 08:24 AM PDT Title. They said back in Season of Opulence that certain Eververse items that were available back in year 1, directly funded the creation of content like The Whisper and Zero Hour. Eververse is at its absolute worst and most predatory, and the state of Destiny is quite arguably the worst it has ever been. It's not news that Bungie has shifted focus to other projects: rather it be the new IP Matter, the mobile game in coalition with NetEase, Destiny 3, or something else entirely. Whatever is happening, the quality is not showing up inside of Destiny 2. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Mar 2020 05:30 AM PDT Seriously, none of these new events pack the same punch as a Menagerie run. I don't know if it's because they aren't as long? Or if it's because they haven't had the time to be as polished as Menagerie was? Whatever the reason, Menagerie was, and still is fun. [link] [comments] |
