If you want us to incentivize fully Masterworking Exotic armor pieces with the ludicrous 3 Ascendant Shards, then make them actually worth masterworking. ALL Exotic armor should come with a Universal Seasonal mod slot.

    Posted: 19 Apr 2020 12:22 PM PDT

It really sucks that I can't fully utilize a Warmind Cell/Charge with Light build to it's full potential. Here's the build I'm looking to make (Hunter):

    • Taking Charge: Become Charged with Light by picking up an Orb of Light.

    • High Energy Fire: While Charged with Light, gain a bonus to weapon damage (BUFF)

    • Stacks on Stacks: Gain an extra stack of Charged with Light for every stack you gain.

    • Liar's Handshake

    • Top Tree Arcstrider

    • Two Punch shotgun

    • Tyrant's Surge: Dealing damage with Arc melee, Super, and grenade abilities spawn Warmind Cells.

    • Power of Rasputin: You gain a bonus to weapon damage against enemies that are near Warmind Cells (DEBUFF)

The point of this build is to stay Charged with Light nearly all the time, thus having a buff to weapon damage almost always. In addition, as you do damage with Liar's Handshake and One-Two Punch, you spawn a Warmind Cell that debuffs any enemies within its radius.

THE PROBLEM IS: I can't use all 5 mods because Liar's Handshake doesn't have a seasonal mod slot. Yes; I could simply get rid of the lesser important mods (i.e. Stacks on Stacks) but that makes the build unnecessarily weaker. Not to mention the fact that Exotic armor requires THREE ASCENDANT SHARDS to masterwork, yet they do not even have a seasonal mod slot?

SIMPLE SOLUTION: Give Exotic armor pieces a Universal Mod slot, not Seasonal... UNIVERSAL. It doesn't have to be Universal Elemental Affinity, but let me use any mod from any season on any Exotic Armor and I'll be happy. Or if you want to keep Masterworking expensive as it is, have it so that fully masterworking an Exotic armor unlocks the Universal Mod slot.

Destiny no longer feels like a looter-shooter.

    Posted: 19 Apr 2020 09:25 AM PDT

It seems to me that over the years the series has stepped away from RNG based loot drops and rewards, moving instead toward quest/bounty completion rewards as the main method of acquiring sweet loots.

I can only assume this change has come as a result of the outcries over not getting desired loot to drop from RNG. And that's fairly understandable. Running the same content a million times for a specific drop only to never see it? That's not a great feeling.

But now we are, for the most part, directed to do a specific set of tasks in order to get a specific reward. Whether it's a single daily bounty or an exotic quest, we are told time and time again to do X task in order to get Y rewards. The bounty fatigue has been here for a while now, this is nothing new, but the exotic gear suffers from the same issue. You don't have that "OMG Gjally dropped" feeling. Instead, I often find myself thinking "thank God that checklist is completed."

And with the season passes, more new exotics are getting directly handed out for simply purchasing them with real money.

Even outside of bounties and quests, the weekly Powerful drops tend to force players into specific activities or modes they may not even want to play, simply for getting a "powerful" drop to increase their level.

The issue with these things is that they take the player away from the simple gameplay loop of shooting things with the weapons and load out YOU enjoy, and then seeing what random loot they drop when you do that. Yes, random loot exists, but it's very clear that it's not the focus of the game anymore.

In Destiny 1, if I was a PvE player I could grind strikes for valuable gear, not just because I needed to do 3 a week on my guardian. If I wanted the hardcore end game experience, raids were there. And if you were a PvP player, crucible was your bread and butter and Trials was the raid equivalent. Obviously, these modes still exist in Destiny 2, but they are lumped in with a plethora of other game modes and activities that provide weekly incentive to do them, increasing the "checklist" feeling of playing the game.

The more checklist style rewards are prioritized, and the more of them bloat the game, the less Destiny will ultimately feel like a looter shooter. And with things like loot "pity" timers ala Escalation Protocol, Destiny COULD pull off the more RNG loot centric style of the past while providing a kind of safety net for those who have done tons of the same content without a successful drop. And Xur was always the Santa Claus of Destiny 1, providing an extra, though still random, chance of acquiring loot you don't have. He was exciting, and in my opinion, a trademark of the series. Compare Xur to how he is now.

Let's steer away from the checklists designed to give the "Joe Walmarts" gear, and return to when Destiny was a looter shooter.

Please Bungie, don't make again a main seasonal PvE activity as a public event. Vex offensive and Sundial had matchmaking and was easy to complete.

Dragonfly is so bad now it doesn't even proc 40% of the time... Also please fix Shotguns so Enemy HP doesn't Regenerate.

    Posted: 19 Apr 2020 04:28 AM PDT

Dragonfly At first it was delayed they said it was a big issue and couldn't fix it, now it doesn't even proc most of the time. This is definitely an issue with the servers. Since Shadowkeep servers have been taking a dump. Shotguns are unusable because adds keep regenerating their health, reason being the server cant keep up with the ton of damage done in the short period of time. This is specially annoying when using the 4th Horseman.

    Dungeons are amazing.

    Posted: 19 Apr 2020 02:00 PM PDT

I've never taken time to realize how awesome dungeons are. They're challenging activities midway between a Raid and Strike that offer a very challenging singleplayer experience. They're just FUN, for me there's no shortage of excitement trying to do these solo. I haven't even gotten a solo completion of either but being able to play a Raid-like activity and challenge myself to do it solo or flawless is just awesome.

The singleplayer plausability of dungeons I think is a major selling point, they are among the most fun PvE activities you can do by yourself. I sincerely hope Bungie will continue to release new Dungeons as part of seasons or future DLC because the (solo) experience is at least as rewarding as Raid completion.

Game isn't perfect but Dungeons are easily the best part of the singleplayer experience above Strikes and even the campaigns. Bungie really did something amazing with Dungeons.

If the almighty actually blows ups and destroys half of the EDZ, cosmodrome, or the Last City, and it actually STAYS that way with real consequences to us, season of the worthy will actually be worth.

Look I just want some actual real world changes that negatively affect the guardians. We're practically just having a field day while the almighty it hurtling towards us. HELL WE ARE ACTUALLY GONNA HAVE A CLASS FIELD DAY HERE IN A BIT.

I love how as soon as auto rifles are good everyone starts complaining and begging for nerfs even tho we’ve had a hand cannon meta for 19 and a half months

    Posted: 19 Apr 2020 05:44 PM PDT

I mean as soon as auto rifles were viable the sparebender users started shitting there pants and yelling "nerf hard light and suros" I understand why headlight is a little op cuz if no damage fall of, but if you're using a hand cannon you aren't going to be across the map. If there going to nerf hard light they should probably change the 2x damage from bounce shots and tweak the range fall of a bit. But it's so fucking annoying that the try hards don't like a new gun when they are used to a norm.

[Xbox] Fellow guardian saw me near Mithrax, joined my fireteam and helped me get the Outbreak Perfected and Catalyst

    Posted: 19 Apr 2020 05:16 PM PDT

I would like to share this amazing story from a fellow guardian.

I was looking at a solo guide to complete the Zero Hour while standing near Mithrax. A fellow guardian saw me near, started tbagging me, I tbagged him back and saw him joining my fireteam. I rendezvoused the mission thinking he wanted to complete the mission as well but not alone.

Upon starting the mission, we started murdering the initial enemies. I was running with the riskrunner and since the mission is currently bugged, the damage was extraordinary. We passed through everything with no problems and we got to the platforming. I had only watched few guides to do the platforming section but it definitely wasn't enough for me to complete it, however, our fellow guardian just started blazing through the platforming like a mad man. I was following him through everything until we reached the boss section with only around 3 to 5 mins left and I GOT THE PERFECTED! It's a gun I was so proud to have back in Destiny 1 and knowing it had returned to Destiny 2, I needed to have it.

Afterwards we did the heroic. It was a bit tougher but nothing impossible. We played the mission for an hour or so and he was always there to help me get the Catalyst even after multiple unsuccessful tries. We friended each other, I was thanking him for helping me on this journey to get the Outbreak.

    Such a great experience today!

Imagine how awesome destiny would be if it were rated M

    Posted: 19 Apr 2020 03:34 PM PDT

I mean just because a game is rated M doesn't mean I want doom levels of gore, all that I'm saying is that if they could explore wayyy darker topics it would make the world feel so much deeper. I hear about the collapse and how terrible and helpless it seems but then I go to play and I'm a bonified badass with the power of a deity who literally cannot die. Caydes death was awesome and really brought out the emotion and I'd love to see more like that. I always thought how PERFECT a horror movie of Eris Morns story would be. 6 guardians all strapped with all the confidence in the world and they drop into the hellmouth only to be absolutely overrun by thrall and having to abandon their sister as she screams in agony while the light and life is ripped out of her body. The rest of them go insane and are picked off one by one leaving only eris who is completely alone trapped inside basically insect hell. I think destiny is an awesome game with awesome lore but man they really need to explore it more...especially the hive and vex. I hope with the upcoming darkness enemies we really get a taste of our own medicine. I hope in destiny 3 the darkness absolutely kicks our ass and we spend the entire story struggling to pick up the pieces and finally being able to push a counter-attack. I don't know just a thought

Edit: I'm not necessarily saying you NEED an M rating to make a game with a decent narrative all I'm saying is that Destiny itself has a LOT of interesting and deep content that is shoved away in lore because the game itself is rated T and can't be actually shown. It's like if halo couldn't show all the cruel things that happened to the arbiter or the impact the flood had, and they just mentioned it in small snippets of lore. Like I was saying with Eris. I feel like the story of her entire fireteam being absolutely DECIMATED and not even standing a chance is a REALLY interesting and compelling story but we never actually get to SEE it so it carries no weight. If they would actually show what happened (which is certainly M rated) her character would have some real depth and the threat of the hive would actually seem real.

LFG is hell for someone who doesn't know what they're doing

    Posted: 19 Apr 2020 03:17 PM PDT

So just a couple of hours ago, I ran a GoS boss with a random group 5 people knew what they were doing including me and the only guy who didn't ever do the raid before joins in. Now the first 2 runs were a mess I guess the communication wasn't there. Suddenly 2 people leave because they were fed up at the guy and it wasn't even his fault. And then he shares his story, which I think Is true. He used to grind out Leviathan and teach and help people just like him these days. He had like 600 clears all with people going through the 1st time. He then quite the game as a whole. He came back let's say a week ago because of the world situation. He started of well he got recluse and a good roll on the old fashioned. He was looking for a LFG for a Garden Run. He got rejected 20 times because he didn't know what he was doing. And when he stumbled across our group and he thought if he gets rejected once more he'll quit again and move on thankfully my team agree on helping him so we looked for 2 guardians who had the patience and we breezed through in like what 3 attempts? Btw for our 2nd run we got everything sorted and we literally killed the boss and got the tether on like 0.0001 seconds before we wiped and I'm not even exaggerating and then we wiped when the boss turned to stone because vex sac'ed. Anyway we beat the boss and then he ended up in tears in a happy way and then I added him to my friends list and I told him we'll raid together for the foreseeable future. I just wanted to share my story. Sorry if my wording is wack I'm really tired

    Scout rifles need a buff

    Posted: 19 Apr 2020 11:50 AM PDT

They seriously have no range at which they're the best archetype. Auto rifles dumpster on scouts from close-mid/long range and snipers dumpster on scouts from outside auto rifle range. Scouts also give wayyy less flinch than any other archetype.

The only one that's even close to useable competitively is mida multi tool, and that's a stretch. Jade rabbit only gets used to dumpster on worse/newer players.

I have fun stomping with them in control matches, but the moment you go into competitive you're dead to gnawing hunger, summoner, hard light, or suros before you can even get 3/4 shots off. And don't even think about using these things vs snipers, the only place you're flinching them is right into your own head.

    Buff pls

The Red Bar damage change needs to be reverted.

    Posted: 19 Apr 2020 11:42 AM PDT

Quite possibly one of the worst changes that Bungie did was take away the Crit. multiplier that rank-and-file ads had on them. This change made nearly every single encounter artificially longer and I know I'm not the only one who hates this. Combined with the nerf to damage perks like Rampage and Killclip makes fighting regular ads not only annoying but also aggravating combined with the stupid health bar rubber banding that seems to be going rampant right now. It's ridiculous that it can take multiple shots from a Hand Cannon to kill the weakest of ads. I've never advocated for the "power fantasy" stuff before, but not being able to one-Crit some ads makes me feel weak af and it's not as satisfying to kill enemies like it used to be.

For a season purely based around the Almighty crashing into the Last City, it sure is taking it's sweet ass time.

    Posted: 19 Apr 2020 02:37 AM PDT

Nova Warp has fallen off the face of the earth. The super is still doggy doodoo unless you finesse super hard, and hand held kills you now more than every.

    Posted: 19 Apr 2020 03:13 AM PDT

It's rather unfortunate to see a class go down in flames. I got a flawless stolen from me as I threw it standin still, and it killed me.

Yeah. I know. It sucked so much seeing it be abused. Like I knew fuck all people could do dumb stuff with it, but they effectively killed it. It's worthless.

I used to run it back when as a sniper for scrims. It was a decent fallback with the right rule set that would actually punish that hunter who's jump velocity is absurd.

But now, half the time, there's no point in running it since you have second thoughts when charging it up. Either kill the charge time and keep the self damage (at least fix the hitbox so it doesn't kill you when you're standing still or moving).

Or keep the charge time and kill the self damage. You'll still have an annoying bug where it'll just go nowhere sometimes, but that's nowhere near as feels bad when against a stack of hackers, and your grenade kills you in a 4 - 4 game.

A season I would wager various body parts for.

    Posted: 19 Apr 2020 02:44 PM PDT

The Darkness ships arrive at Titan, too close for us to ignore them now. We get an encrypted message.

It's Mithrax, leading the House of Light and they've taken up residence in the Arcology Atrium/Forest area. Their camp is a new social space for the HoL faction, kind of like the Vestian Outpost. The surrounding Arcology forest is a small patrol zone with various hive/darkness/House Devils enemies. The public events are the current Fallen PE's but in reverse. Defend a House of Light Ether Harvest/Glimmer Drill/Armory Drop.

The seasonal event alternates week to week. One week your fireteam and a House of Light crew delve deep into the Arcology searching for Golden age tech to fight against the Darkness. The other week you launch a strike on the Dreadnaught/a Pyramid ship to delay their progress or harm their objectives in some way using the golden age tech you found the previous week.

Osiris returns to the Tower and gives Saint-14 blueprints for weapons he came up with after his trip to the Pyramid ships and instructs him to award them to the most worthy participants in Trials, the flawless examples of what a Guardian should be.

If we get anything resembling this in a season I will surgically remove a body part of Luke Smith's choosing.
