If you’ve been playing the forges recently then you definitely find this annoying. Two or more servitors should NOT be able to protect other servitors while the other servitor is protecting them...

    Posted: 05 May 2020 12:00 PM PDT

Playing the Gofannon Forge, and the boss and another servitor were both immune because they had their purple lazer on each other so for about a good 30 seconds, my team couldn't damage neither of them, which ended up in us failing.

    This is extremely annoying

Lately, character moments and plot development have been happening in the Eververse, of all places.

    Posted: 05 May 2020 06:11 PM PDT

The past couple of seasons, character development and updates on dangling plot threads have been happening in the Eververse, of all places. Like, I actually log in on Tuesday to check the store for story developments. (Ha!)

During The Dawning, a ship gave us an update on what Uldren's new life as a Guardian is like. Last week, we learned that Hawthorne confronted Zavala about competing in the Guardian Games from a ship. This week an overgrown sparrow another ship tells us at she's joined team Titan and clearing Lost Sectors... with a sniper rifle? Maybe she just wanted to spend time with her crush.

Anyway, these stories exist in the store for a three-week event, or maybe even a season, and then disappear. One can't even view them in Collections. Unless one purchases them, that is. It's so ephemeral and cynical to tie them to microtransactions.

I know cutscenes, voice actors, and translations are expensive, but story and characters are why some of us got into this universe in the first place. And Bungie does seem to be slowly working more cutscenes into the seasons, with Dawn being a standout, and I guess those will start to stick around next year. It's just strange checking the storefront, of all places, for an exposition dump each week.

Towerthought — Zavala's helping the Titans and presumably Ikora is helping the Warlocks. No wonder the Hunters are in last place.

A drawing of how to solo Oryx

    Posted: 05 May 2020 02:51 PM PDT

The 4th Horseman should have been the reward for Guardian Games and the Skyburners Girth should have come from the quest.

    Posted: 05 May 2020 04:45 PM PDT

The quest for the 4th even involves Calus daughter who is referenced heavily in the Heirs lore tab. Where as having Zavala dig out an old favorite exotic out of the (still) demolished tower to motivate everyone to compete in the Olympics makes more sense. I really just hate that such an awesome weapon with a cool story and design is just given to us for doing some bounties.

Xur is still offering collection rolls since armor 2.0 released and we still don't have an update when a fix is coming.

    Posted: 05 May 2020 06:03 AM PDT

When armor 2.0 releases Xur started only having collection roll exotics. It's is a nice update the weekly fated engram only has armor but spending 97 Shards for a RNG exotic that usually is disappointing (I'm Looking at you tricksleeves and Aeons) shouldn't be the answer for xur.

The last time we heard about this being a bug was 4 months ago:

DMG Comment on Season of Dawn Random Rolls: https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/e6zc5z/bungie_please_fix_xur_this_season_for_random/f9vu4u8?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x

Cozmo Comment on it being a bug: https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/e6zc5z/bungie_please_fix_xur_this_season_for_random/fa0r8ye?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x

Back in foresaken there was always excitement when Xur brought a really good roll (remember enhanced HC OEM or Traction Stomp-EE5). It would be nice for the community as a whole to get that chance every week and know that they are going to get a different roll on a specific exotic they might be hunting for.

When you spend the weekend effortlessly farming 1030 nightfalls, it really makes you realize how crappy the reward structure in crucible is

    Posted: 05 May 2020 09:29 AM PDT

One 15 minute run gets you an ascedent shard and an exotic most of the time. What do you get in PVP? an hour of your time once a week for one ascendent shard....That's IF you can even go flawless, which is so difficult because of the declining playerbase mixed with most people playing being streamers and sweaty recovs.

For christs sake, give all crucible gamemodes the ability to drop all types of enfusing materials and drastically increase the incentives for trials and comp

Strike modifiers need a revamp. This is what pushes us to use new loadouts, abilities, and try different builds.

    Posted: 05 May 2020 09:38 AM PDT

Right now the game is dependent on the artifact mods to push players to try new weapon types or to try different abilities. While this is a nice thing to have for a season, in D1 the strike modifiers did this to a much greater extent.

In addition to artifact mods injecting seasonal shifts, I think it would pair REALLY well with a revamp to strike modifiers (or return to D1 strike modifiers).

Here are some modifiers we had that caused us to vary in our approach to gameplay FOR ADDED FUN.

    • Airborne - Players deal more damage while in the air. Abilities we can use while jumping. Paired with arc week, we jump and use 4th horseman in the Sunless cell strike. Crazy fun.
    • Daybreak - Reduces cooldown of all abilities. Epic is inherent. MAYHEM NIGHTFALL/STRIKES
    • Exposure - Guardian shields are increased but do not replenish. While seen as a negative, we used Red Death (Crimson in D2). Or other abilities that regenerate shields)
    • Small Arms - Primary Weapon damage is favored. *Smash enemies using primaries. Give those long forgotten, non-meta weapons a whirl because they will smash stuff.8
    • Specialist - Secondary Weapon damage is favored. Double up on special weapons because they are going to pack a punch.

    Thoughts?

Kudos to the "A Mysterious Disturbance" designers

    Posted: 05 May 2020 09:15 PM PDT

When Shadowkeep came out, many people celebrated the storytelling of this mission and the reveal, which were all great!

I wanted to make sure we don't forget the rest of the mission as well, where you start out in a giant cluster of enemies with lots of heavy ammo, other guardians, and even vanguard frames/ships. This mission lets you feel like you're a part of the Vanguard, working with other players without making the difficulty silly (Seraph tower plates with one tap ruining your progress). You get to feel exactly like the right amount of god-slaying badass, relatively simple mechanics (timed plate capture), and straightforward bosses (with the ending of the mission to remind you there's other powers stronger than you).

More story missions like this would be great to see, and even horde/events that let you feel powerful without punishing you, would be a welcome sight. Many kudos to the team that designed this mission and I hope to see them work on more content in the future!

If we have matchmaking in Nightfall Ordeal at lower difficulties... Why can't we have matchmaking for legacy nightfalls?

    Posted: 05 May 2020 08:17 PM PDT

I'm relatively new to D2 nightfalls personally, and I just really don't get why legacy nightfalls don't have matchmaking? I mean, the modifier system at this point seems largely irrelevant aside from singe. Giving legacy matchmaking would enable people to farm nightfall specific loot far easier. Just seems like a win-win to do since hallowed lair and others won't rotate into The Ordeal.

My little sister has wanted to play shattered throne for a long time, but couldn't manage to solo it, much to her frustration. Yesterday I used the app to match her with some people who were willing to help her and they finished in one run, about a half hour. She was so happy! I know carrying isn't everyone's idea of a good time, but thank you to those who are willing to help make someone's day, week, or even month by getting them through a tough spot in the game. :)

Free Emblem If You Don't Already Own It.

    Posted: 05 May 2020 04:19 PM PDT

I know this has been in the game since Curse of Osiris, but I thought I'd spread the word of a free emblem you can get. Here's what you need to do. BTW the emblem is called The Visionary.

    Instructions:

    Step I

Link your Bungie.Net account with your in game account.

    Step II

    Go to Bungie.Net/Redeem.

    Step III

Sign in to your account. Select what Platform you play on, then you Player Tag.

    Step IV

    Input Code: XFVKHPN97

    Step V

Wait a day or two, then go to your Flair screen in collections, then to emblems. It should be waiting.

I know most of you already own this, since it is free, but some of the newer Destiny players will not have this yet. Please enjoy!

I hope the weapons in S11 have better archetype distribution.

    Posted: 05 May 2020 04:34 PM PDT

Like seriously. According to light.gg, we have 6 randomly rolled 110 Hand cannons and 1 energy 110. Meanwhile, we haven't had a new Rapid Fire pulse since S6. That's just 1 example.

I'm sure Bungie already has another kinetic 150 scout waiting to be released tho.

Why are Hunters in last place? Lore tab for the new ship may reveal an answer...

    Posted: 05 May 2020 09:08 PM PDT

The lore tab for the Team Spirit ship reveals that Zavala is grinding Lost Sectors for the Titans. Presumably, Ikora is doing similar work for Team Warlock. But the Hunters? Well, nobody's stepped to fill Cayde's shoes, so they're working at a disadvantage. Two teams have plot armor for their placements.

Hey, maybe Uldren will pull it together and swoop in for a last-minute save!

Mercury Heroic Adventures offer the rarest Armor 2.0 sets in the game.

    Posted: 06 May 2020 12:40 AM PDT

Armor 2.0 versions of the previous-Playstation Exclusive CoO and Warmind armor have been in the game for some time, however it is extremely rare to get, as they only drop from chests on Mars and Mercury. (To my knowledge, or at least in my experience)

The daily heroic adventure on Mercury offers one of the few guaranteed ways to spawn chests in a farmable fashion.

    Titans

    Terra Concordia Armor

    Pure D1 aesthetic helmet

    Insight Unyielding Armor

    Japanese Samurai aesthetics

    Hunters

    Icarus Drifter Set

    Leather straps and Cloth Vest

    Insight Rover Armor

Looks inspired by an old time baseball uniform

    Warlocks

    Insight Vikti

    It's ummm... Warlocky

    Tesseract Trace IV armor

D1 Style helmet with geometrical patterns.

So for anyone interested in grabbing some of the most obscure armor 2.0 out there, this weeks Heroic Adventures on Mercury is probably your best bet for it because it is the weekly Flashpoint and Mercury will probably (hopefully) be blown up before I ever have to do public events on this godforsaken planet again :)

Zen Moment What does it Actually do? - Review, Guide

    Posted: 05 May 2020 07:22 PM PDT

    Video Version / Testing

Here we are again looking at Zen Moment, I say this as I have looked at this perk many times but I could not get any solid results, but now I've confirmed that this perk does have an effect! Thanks to Youtube commenter Setekh Redsand who shared some clips with me that gave clear results showing that the perk was definitely doing something. In this post I'm going to look at what it does, how useful it is and what weapons it's best to use on.

    What Does it Do?

    • This perk has the ability to 100% remove the visual recoil of a weapon after you have done damage to a target

Seeing as "visual recoil" is not likely a well known concept I'll break down what that means.

Visual recoil is all the aspects of recoil that are purely visual and have no real effect on the trajectory of shots fired from the weapon. Altho only visual, this bouncing and shaking effect on the weapon reticle can make aiming and tracking targets difficult. Hardlight pre-buff is a perfect example of a weapon that had a quite manageable recoil but the visual recoil made the weapon unusable.

The effect does not scale, it is either fully active or not active.

    • Shots to Activate: 4-7 Depending on Weapon

(The below numbers include the first shot that the effect is active on, they represent the first shot that will benefit)

    Age Old Bond - 7 = 1s

    Braytech Werewolf - 5 = 0.53s

    Misfit - 6 = 0.41s

    Randy's Throwing Knife - 4 = 0.69s

    Hero's Burden - 5 = 0.27s

    Blast Furnace - 4 = 0.53s

    How Useful is It?

Overall this perks effect is not particularly powerful for most weapons in measurable or realistic terms for many weapons; altho it is definitely effective on others, so much so that it could be the only cure to a weapons wonky recoil.

1st: Many weapons have little to no visual recoil just by their nature.

2nd: This effect requires a period of damage dealt to activate, which for many weapons can be a large portion of that weapons time to kill, in addition a single missed shot will deactivate the effect requiring you to deal another period of damage to reactivate.

3rd: Practiced shooters do not require low visual recoil to shoot effectively, they are not looking at the sight when they fire but rather are looking at the target. When using a Hand Cannon for example the reticle may only be visible for a moment for each shot.

    Which Weapons Benefit Most?

High to medium rate of fire Auto Rifles and all SMGs will see the most noticeable effect. For certain Scout Rifles and Pulse Rifles the perks effect will also be minimally noticeable. The effect will also be more noticeable with higher zoom scopes. From my experience SMGs see the most benefit, as they often have high visual recoil and can activate ZM very quickly, too bad SMGs are so weak in the current meta.

    Overall / My Review

This perk is a personal preference kind of perk, many Guardians enjoy and will continue to enjoy the perk but I think most competitive players will find other perks more impactful. I feel its largest drawback is requiring damage to be activated, I'd honestly prefer if its effects were weaker (like 60% less visual recoil) and it stayed active at all times (like the old D1 perk "Rodeo").

For those who are trying to get the Almighty Title and are stuck on the Harcoded Victory triumph, this is the best week to do it.

    Posted: 06 May 2020 12:04 AM PDT

The moon is the easiest place to do it and the Hive are the weekly boss. No invisible Fallen, no teleporting Vex, and no jumping Cabal.

    Good Luck Guardians.
