    Hello Guardians,

Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.

We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.

This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion

Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding 'Guardian Games' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

We should have double XP and Bright Dust weeks.

    Posted: 11 May 2020 06:07 PM PDT

Maybe once a month there's a week where Bright Dust and XP gains are doubled. Alternatively, we could have a double XP and Bright dust week every week for a specific playlist.

It could be double XP and Bright Dust from Strikes and Strike bounties one week, and the next it could be from Crucible or Gambit, and so on.

Last Night I Remembered What Destiny is All About.

    Posted: 11 May 2020 08:47 AM PDT

Last night I decided to run Scourge just for the fun of it - but I have no friends that play this game or an active clan. So I resulted to the LFG discord. I saw a post that said they needed 1 more so I joined.

I could never have expected what would happen next...

Basically, these were the most chill and amazing players I have ever met. We were all just laughing having a blast doing the old raids. We did: SOTP twice, Prestige Leviathan (which 2 of us had never done) and we One Phased Riven with swords.

This made me realize what Destiny is all about. Having a good time, HAVING FUN, comparing loot even though most of it is obsolete (I got 7 bonds -_-) and just having a good time with good people.

Thanks to: Nep, Butter, Ren, Tuna and Candy (I did not use their full username for privacy). If you guys ever see this post, I was Aragorn and you guys reminded me what Destiny is all about!! :)

Edit: Thank you all so much for the awards!! I just wanted to bring some more positivity to this awesome game and remind us what the game is all about! Keep enjoying the game guardians!! :)

Portrait of Nezarec, the god of pain

    Hey team,

New Light player here. It's only been what, 2 weeks since I started playing this game and I'm loving it.

I play warlock main, because based on what I've seen on this forum it seems that you need to be able to consume crayons to be able to be a badass and I do not possess such ability, I only know how to eat books.

Nezarec's sin has been visually my favorite gear but for god's sake it won't drop for me, so to satiate my need for that exotic I made a quick painting on him..

I did some lore research and I was fascinated by the relationship between Nezarec and the void power, so that was the main direction when I worked on this.

    Hope yall enjoy!

Seraph Tower is so difficult to do now.

    Posted: 11 May 2020 06:05 PM PDT

Because no competent player wants to do seraph tower, all you find are blueberries that only kill things and never throw the orbs at the other orb to get progress. Because of the lack of a proper matchmaking system like with the sundial or menagerie, you can't get a six man team of competent people that can actually complete this damn public event. Because of the new two active plates system, you get less progress per orb that gets to the center tower, so now it is double the work for 2/3 the reward.

I just want to get the mods and complete that one Rasputin Io bounty...

It's one of the most visually stunning and interesting places in the EDZ, however we only can visit it in the campaign/story missions. The entrance is there, but we can only see a glimpse of it and can't really do much there. Bungo plz

Can we just get rid of Dragonfly and replace it with old Firefly?

    Posted: 11 May 2020 09:05 PM PDT

Dragonfly has to be imo one of the most useless perks in the game. Between the delay in explosions making it not reliable, and the piss poor damage that isn't even remotely helped by the Dragonfly spec mod, idk why some consider this perk worth it.

Curated Nation of Beasts for instance is garbage, and I see people rave about it because of Dragonfly. It isn't even close to the power of Fatebringer, which also means it's not even close to the power of other better PvE perk combinations that are available to us in D2.

Either get rid of the delay on explosions and make Dragonfly spec amp up the damage way more, or why have the perk at all.

I haven't been able to complete a Seraph Tower since March 25th

    Posted: 11 May 2020 07:49 PM PDT

And it's not for lack of trying. It took a long time to find enough Guardians to finish it back in March (basically going to orbit and loading back in until I found a group) and I have not been able to load into any instances with more than one Guardian between that one completion and the increase in difficulty.

In the last few weeks I have tried to find active instances when I log in each night. I'll clear a bunker, check the nearest tower, see if I can find an instance with any other Guardians, wait for fifteen minutes, and bounce. Sometimes I might see two or three other players and we'll start the event but 1) there aren't enough of us to successfully complete the event (the furthest I have gotten since two tower activations is 70% or so with two other Guardians) or 2) I'll get Beaver'd out when I do find a group that's making good progress. I was inspired to make this post after I finally found an instance with four Guardians on Io and was booted out when we are at 50% with lots of time.

Honestly, this is the most frustrated I have ever felt with this game. It's one thing for there to be a game mode I just don't want to engage with because it's not for me (eg, Grandmaster Ordeals, Trials) but it's another when it's a mode I want to play but can't complete because the match making (or lack thereof) and service are broken.

Dearest Bungo, I am begging you: do not put seasonal events into this game that don't have match making (yes, even for those with Heroic modes). It's miserable and frustrating as all hell. Menagerie, Vex Offensive, and Sundial all had match making - why couldn't we get it for Seraph Towers? Regardless of how I felt about those events at the end of the season at least I could reliably play them. Seraph Towers just feel busted.

Comprehensive Hand Cannon Necromancy - How to bring 110s, 140s, and 180s back from the dead

    Posted: 11 May 2020 01:48 PM PDT

There are four archetypes of hand cannon available to players in Destiny 2 right now, and three of them are borderline unused. I really like hand cannons, and would enjoy being able to enjoy using all of the archetypes would be nice.

    Aggressive Frame - 110 RPM

110s are in a weird spot, because they can't receive a significant damage buff. A flat fire rate buff is also not viable because it just further reduces the already low diversity among the archetypes.

Suggestion: Give 110s a frame intrinsic trait that increases their fire rate after a kill, similar to aggressive frame shotguns.

Combined with Rampage or Kill Clip, this will turn 110s in an ad-clearing powerhouse in PvE. This buff would help in PvP to a lesser extent as well, allowing for quick followup kills after cleaning up or winning a duel.

    Precision Frame - 180 RPM

I commonly see it suggested here that 180s should receive a fire rate increase, and that buffing their damage to allow a .67 second kill would break the game.

I disagree with both of these statements. Increasing the fire rate starts to encroach on Precision Sidearms, and a damage buff with some conditions has the potential to bring this archetype back.

Suggestion: Rename this frame to Rapid Fire, buff the damage to allow a three shot kill, and reduce the range to compensate.

I would be in favor of keeping the innate extra accuracy and low recoil from the original frame. This would turn 180s into close range skirmishing weapons with great in air handling, being very deadly in the 8 - 20m range.

Somewhat outside of this range, they would have similar behavior to the current game, with a 1s ttk.

    Adaptive Frame - 140 RPM

Adaptive frames are only unused because 150s strictly better. This frame only needs a light touch.

Suggestion: Increase damage modestly to allow a 2h1b kill and slightly increase base range by around 5-10 meters.

In effect, this creates a more relaxed optimal kill and allows 140s to outduel 150s with good positioning, while 150s maintain their better ttk and mobility boost.

I think these changes would do a lot to increase hand cannon archetype diversity without creating any new balance pain points. If you've read this far, thanks!

When is Tether getting a buff/fix? Why does it take like 5 seconds (hyperbolic) to suppress a super/tether a guardian?

    Posted: 11 May 2020 07:03 PM PDT

It takes way too fucking long to tether and misses guardians so easily. Please. Come on. Why are there other things that aren't even supers that suppress faster than tether...

It's weird that Shattered Throne is treated as Legacy content

    Posted: 11 May 2020 01:00 AM PDT

Aside from a couple one-off Exotic quests, there's pretty much no reason for a 950+ player to go do Shattered Throne. It's been functionally replaced by the Pit of Heresy as "The Dungeon".

Sure, it's Forsaken content, but so is the Tangled Shore and we go there all the time. So are the Forsaken strikes and they're all still in the rotation. Shit, this week's Nightfall is a strike from 2017! We're still doing plenty of activities that launched with D2 and are basically unchanged. And we do those over and over, too!

Meanwhile, even of the players who were active during Forsaken, we did Shattered Throne like once every 3 weeks because of the Dreaming City cycle. It's still fresher to us than most of the content out there, and New Light players probably have barely even heard of it.

Bungie, all it would take is revamped rewards to put Shattered Throne back on the map again. Sprinkle some modern perks into the Dreaming City gear pool, make the rewards Powerful with a Pinnacle for completion, and add a masterwork armor drop like POH.

I know it's probably really minor, but I wish that there was a way to turn off tutorials & intro quests when making new characters

    Posted: 11 May 2020 01:15 PM PDT

Title pretty much says it all. I just remade my Warlock to change its gender and it's a bit annoying having to go through the same quests and tutorials as First Light Players even though I have two other characters with decked out gear, a vault full of every exotic and pinnacle weapon, and tons of raids and titles under my belt.

Having a large area of the city to explore with all the hustle and bustle, would add a nice area for player to decompress and to truly show how the city is well lived in

    Posted: 11 May 2020 05:14 PM PDT

As stated above, it's obvious the areas are already made and in game. For example during the solstice when you were upgrading the armors and everything we had that small area with green grass and nice white architecture with that little peninsula at the end they could then bridge that area to the area we were in when we were trying to push the red legion out of the city when we got our light back with the vex teleporter. Seeing how those areas recovered after the Red War I think would help players recognize truly how much work they've put into helping the Last city. Also seriously the tower looks the same. Construction can't be THAT slow.

Either redeem the Fallen and have them as allies or give them some attention, because they have been left behind drastically.

    Posted: 11 May 2020 02:49 PM PDT

Lore-wise, we know the Fallen are seemingly on a path to becoming our allies, so that might excuse the fact that they are critically underutilized throughout Destiny 2. Anyone who has been tasked with killing Fallen for the weekly Vanguard bounties knows this due to there being one strike that heavily features Fallen, and it's one of the worst strikes in the game. I can't justify counting the Warden's Servitor as it's the only Fallen that appears throughout the strike.

Raids are slightly less skewed, with the Fallen only having Scourge of the Past compared to the Cabal and Vex having two raids each (though the Vex only get two in the same manner that the Fallen would get 2 strikes for having just the final boss as the enemy type).

It's also prevalent in terms of content releases and who the primary focus was. For Destiny 2's entire run, the only time the Fallen have been featured was Black Armory. The only enemy type that lands below the Fallen in total presence are the Scorn, which are basically just discount Fallen.

There's a personal bias here, I won't lie about that. I find the Fallen and their story far more interesting than the Cabal, who have double the ingame presence. I know the Hive are essentially the #1 enemy, explaining them having triple the ingame presence. But historically speaking, the Fallen have been left in the dust and it's a real bummer.

Could snipers with hip fire grip get a hip fire crosshair?

    Posted: 11 May 2020 04:31 PM PDT

Considering on snipers this perk is basically useless, could we get a crosshair for the weapon if it has hip fire grip? I say this because it would make the perk viable on snipers and not just another trash roll. And I'm not saying to allow for snipers with that perk to be super accurate while hi firing, I'm just asking for maybe something that gives a general idea for where the bullet might be going.

Out of every gun archetype in the game that exists, the 110 aggressive frame hand cannons need the most massive overhaul. We've let them sit for far too long.

    Posted: 11 May 2020 02:44 PM PDT

Other than 100 rpm grenade launchers that haven't been given new releases sense warmind (probably for a good reason but I feel bad for it) the 110s are the most underwhelming hand cannons in the game. All of the base stats are garbage aside of range which as this is written range means next to jack for hand cannon. It doesn't even have a beneficial intrinsic which simply states high damage high recoil. Thanks for recoil I guess.

Plus using them in the crucible is very inefficient as to get any good ttk you need a damage buff which does give it an amazing ttk of I believe 0.57sec but nonetheless you have to get a kill in the first place. The amo and reload do not help here. I get not wanting 2 headshot kill but three shots is the same amount of shots needed to kill with 140 and 150 hc just with added "forgiveness". Also I don't know if anyone uses pve handcannons outside of ariana's so this I can't see being pve viable.

The capped range makes no sense on most hand cannons and the only reason people talk about 140s more (with good reason) is because now it is merely slightly worse than 150s with no benifit. There are many things that should happen to these and I have many suggestions that I will put down. Take these as you wish and maybe it would be cool to combine some of these ideas.

Buff some of the base stats

This is what is definitely needed. Maybe stability can stay low to be true to what these guns are but low reload and handling aren't needed. I can live in a world where we can draw and reload a duke mk .44 faster. Larger magazine sizes would also be great.

Allow the range nerf to affect these hand cannons less

Someone suggested on a post that these hand cannons should work at at least 8 more meters although I think it was a pve post but nonetheless it sounds about right.

    Make them 120 rpm

This one might not help much at all but ask yourself and all around you, why can't it just be an even 120? I think maybe this would make them feel less awkward as they would have a consistent beat with many songs having a similar beat pattern. Maybe comparing hand cannon fire rate to music isn't the best idea but I think if there is more rythm it would feel a but better. Also this would make the ttk an even 1 sec so it could at least rival 180s.

    Make it a 60/80 rpm 2 tapper

This is a more drastic measure but would give the aggressive frames a more concise identity with 3/4 of the hand cannons killing in 3. This would also lose reliance on damage buffs. I really can't say if anyone would be happy or upset with this. On one hand these would be viable and high skill two tappers with low forgiveness but does anyone want to be two tapped by a hand cannon? 60 rpm would make the ttk 1 sec so it would be close to the same old but with more burst damage. 80 rpm would make the ttk about 0.85 sec (I'm not sure what the exact math most use but what I do is close if not slightly off somtimes) maybe cutting it too close to 140s but whatever. This change would make the aggressive frames maybe a bit too different but maybe would have more place in destiny.

Give aggressive frames actual intrinsic benefits

A more drastic idea is to give it the intrinsic perk of aggressive frame shotguns (55 rpm) where a kill increases the rpm for a bit and I say this sounds fitting. On the current 3 tap kill they are very reliant on damage buffs without them they are just bad. An intrinsic rpm buff on kill would allow it to use a wider category of perks such as rangefinder or demolitionist and not needing a slot for kill clip or rampage. Even if there was just a standard "standing still and aiming down sights reduces the recoil that'd be great".

    Add higher tier damage perks

Correct me if I'm wrong but there are no 110s with high impact reserves. There are also no hand cannons with boxed breathing.

I'd like to see your opinions on this and please try not to dwell on one idea here because then I just see redundancy and I don't want to answer the same question to everyone or be told the same thing is a bad idea over and over. But whatever. This is just my opinion.

    Ex-Hunter Thanks to Granny Lavante

    Posted: 11 May 2020 08:55 PM PDT

THE CAPE FLIES WITH THE WIND, VANISHING IN THE TOWER RUIN

I have been a Hunter Main since the game has popped up in my daily collection of repetitive tasks and duties one calls "Life". And for a long time I have stuck to this concept.

All the exotics, all the Celestials, every raid and story and activity. I have been there, I have done that, and I came back to repeat it several times.
Whether I was raining knives, slashing the void apart, or pole-dancing thunder and lightning...

    That was up until recently.

Granny Lavante came about with Zavala to deliver a competition in class and rivalry... Honestly I was excited to rep for Hunters !
I put on the team colors, I cheered and I screamed. I rallied and I pushed. Day after day after day every medal I could get my hand on...

But as the days waned on, and I was one of the very few faces left talking to ol' Lavante, I simply could not get the bitter taste of failure and disappointment out of my mouth.

So much so that my light burned out to the point I could not swallow a single more day of "following my Destiny".

So I made a plan, or more of a dangerous vacation trip with my Ghost that may have lead across the Eververse and the first... Or last... Situation where a Hunter bought an Overcoat.

I traveled back to the Dark Forest, Ghost in tow, questions in mind... And I would love to recall what happened in the middle of this story but there are things that make no sense even when looked upon with quantum theoretical physics.

In the left hand I held a spear made of lightning and energy. Fading away to mere sparks.

In the right hand I held a sword made of fire and dedication. Burning brighter than every golden gun I ever wielded.

I found a new reason to continue dying. To return back to whatever this Destiny is.

When I plant my sword in the ground, and see the aura flow off the concrete and heal my Fireteam...
When I charge into a group of adds with the fury of a thunderstorm unbound, no longer channeled to a staff.
When I no longer slice the Void with my blades but RIP A BLACK HOLE IN REALITY AND SEND IT FORTH...

I feel happy. I feel useful.

And perhaps, just for once... I feel alive.

Goodbye my Cape, Hello my Coat.

Me: the guardian games added some fun rivalry to the game. Also me:

    Posted: 11 May 2020 05:28 PM PDT

One simple change will make Gambit Prime much more enjoyable.

    Posted: 11 May 2020 07:11 AM PDT

    Change Sentry's top perk:

+15 Sentry makes you immune from being marked by invaders if you are holding a Primary weapon.

I am quite the lurker on this subreddit. In my experience the top complaint about Gambino Primo is how strong invaders are... and when they run Truth, Xenophage, or are a competent sniper, they can be unbeatable.

This simple change will alter the invader's unidimensional strategy. He will now have to choose between taking out the mote carriers while being hunted or facing his hunter.

The sentry on the other hand can maintain his covert status as long as he doesn't pull out his beloved, truth, xeno, Levi-breath, or any special or heavy.

I think a lot more people would run a full Sentry set (including those that normally invade). The benefits being that the bank is cleared for mote-whores and reapers, less harassment from pesky easy-mode invaders, and a more balanced game experience.

TL;DR - it's the top three lines of this post.
