- Daily Questions [2020-05-08]
- Bungie, you’ve been nailing it with the communication and listening to the community the past few weeks. We should continue this level of transparency, even if the game is in a really good spot.
- To all those complaining about the game and eververse...
- Thank you for the Heir Apparent, Bungie...but Guardian Games sucked.
- Hunters during Guardians Games, Art by me.
- If Top tree Dawnblade can glide, skate, change direction mid-air with burst motion all with no weapon redraw, blink can lose some of its nerfs.
- dmg on twitter: "We’re excited for our community to play Destiny 2 on next-gen platforms. More details to come."
- Bungie, the planned changes to Eververse will not make you tons of money itself, but it will keep your players happy. Thank you
- Khovostov Exotic that has all 3 anti Champion mods built in
- The warlock bond for Guardian Games is much better, Bungie.
- I created some Destiny 2 Europa armor designs!
- Bungie has never let me down with their expansions. Everything in-between has been hit and miss. But the expansions have always rocked.
- Bungie, please let us make ornaments from our collection when the transmogrification feature releases, not items.
- When I’m bored I like to glitch out of maps, I just thought this screenshot from IO was worth sharing!
- Not wanting to build Destiny 3 for both current and next gen consoles likely factored into Bungie's decision to stick with Destiny 2 for a few more years.
- Vidoc Bingo
- Here's a list of Exotics that I think should get anti champion abilities
- Monthly reminder that Bungie completely killed off Nova warp from its barely above average capabilities in the first few months of forsaken, followed up by completely killing off its overtuned unique ability. The class is dead.
- If I had a nickel for every daughter of a Gold Anti-Villain that’s threatening to resurrect a Red Enemy Faction...
- The bergusia forge warden seems to be more tanky lately.
- A Guide For What You Are Missing Out On
- Titans, victory is secured! Its time to help our Warlocks get second place!
- From an excited new player: I got Hush!
- It never ceases to amaze me how one inept player in gambit completely ruins the entire flow of movement
- Austringer (Broken Bird, to be Healed)

Posted: 07 May 2020 02:57 PM PDT Source: https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/49002 This week at Bungie, Guardian Games nears the finish line. But before we dive into our weekly update, here's a word from Luke Smith about a topic on many players' mind these days: Eververse.
Nearing the finish lineLook, you know it. I know it. Titans have taken a stand, owning the Guardian Games since Day 2 of the event. They've held strong against the book-reading Warlocks. They laugh in the face of fashion-centric Hunters like myself. After years of taking a backseat and avoiding the spotlight, Titans are showing off their Light brighter than they ever have before. The more I think about this, the less surprised I am. Going into the event, I knew Titans would show up… maybe not to this extent, but Titans always have a way of being there when you need them. Day in and day out, Titans are standing strong in the face of darkness to protect the citizens of the Last City. Even if I was hoping for more Hunter wins, I can't help but acknowledge the unrelenting strength here. Good stuff, Titans. You all deserve a bit more credit than folks give you. We still have a few days left of this event, all contributing two points to daily standings. Warlocks, Hunters… these are your last chances to make a statement. Will you swap placements before the end of the games, or have you embraced your second and third place standings, respectively? Let's see what you've got. Now, let's look at the rest of this week's topics. Guardian's Heart is coming to a close, and we have a final list of Bungie Bounty targets for you to hunt in support of charity, as well as a forecast of the final Iron Banner for this season. Guardian's Heart Update: Final WeekThe Guardian's Heart Charity Initiative has entered its final week. If you've been following along, we hit our $700,000 goal last week! Knowing this community, though, we aren't even close to done yet. At the time of writing this article, you've already helped raise another $50k to help those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. We still have a slew of Bungie Bounties to place on the heads of our community in support of this charity event. Here's who you'll be looking for over the next few days: May 8 - Phammy at 1:00 AM on PC (Australia) May 8 - Benj and PolarBear at 10:00 AM on PC (UK) May 8 - Kinda Funny and What's Good Games at 12:00 PM on PS4 May 9 - Zoe_ at 5:00 AM on PC (UK) May 11 - Jarv and HOUNDISH at 10:00 AM on Xbox (UK) The Guardian's Heart Initiative ends at 10:00 AM Pacific on May 12, 2020. If you would like to support this charity initiative and receive the Guardian's Heart emblem, please donate $20 or more to the Tiltify page before this deadline! Again, thank you to everyone who has donated thus far. I don't think any of us could have imagined a pandemic like this in our lifetimes. To see Guardians coming together once again to support those in need warms our hearts. Thank you. Iron FinaleNext week, Lord Saladin returns to the Tower, hosting the final Iron Banner of the season. If you dig 6v6 power-enabled combat, this is your time to shine. Saladin will bring his final round of weekly bounties, each of which rewarding pinnacle power gear. Let's say you've been striking out on that final Heavy Weapon – Iron Banner may grant you the Rocket Launcher you need to finish your pinnacle journey for this season. As this is the final Iron Banner of the season, this serves as last call for a few rewards.
Additionally, this will be your last chance to earn the Point of the Stag Pursuit Bow. This weapon will not be available during Season 11, so get in there and complete your quest! Who knows, maybe you'll fall in love with a new Bowfriend. Iron Banner and Bonus Valor will be available from 10 AM Pacific on May 12, running through 10 AM Pacific on May 19. Bug BashersI've said it before, and I'll say it a thousand times more: The only good bug is a dead one. The Player Support team is vigilant, diving into as many #Help threads as they can each day to diagnose issues, distribute help articles, and find new issues in Destiny 2. This is their report.
Friendly CompetitionWe've seen a few suggestions on how Guardian Games could have been scored, aside from Laurels and Medals. This week's MOTW winner took a swing and what the event could look like with specific challenges and score by judges. Movie of the Week: The Guardian Games Honorable Mention: The Gunslinger Do you have good talent and a great editor to make your content shine? Throw your video on the Creations Page. If you're featured, you'll receive a shiny new emblem for your troubles. The end of a TWAB usually means that we're nearing the end of a Thursday… which leads to another weekend of Trials. While Trials is a predictable Friday offering, we've seen some feedback that things shouldn't be too predictable. This week's Trials of Osiris map will be [Redacted]! Wait, what? Didn't I confirm that Trials maps were on a set rotation per season? Yeah… I totally did. But that's the beauty of a live game, things can change. The team has been looking at your feedback daily since Trials launched, and some things are a bit easier to change than others. For the foreseeable future, Trials maps will be on a random rotation. If anything changes with those plans, we'll be sure to let you know. Have a good weekend, and we'll see you again next week. Cheers, -Dmg04 [link] [comments] |

Posted: 07 May 2020 03:25 PM PDT Title. I think keeping this level of transparency and communication between Bungie and us is really good and continuing it can let Destiny flourish. Edit: I'm not saying the game is in a really good spot right now. It's not. I mean that if in Year 4 the game is flourishing they still should continue the level of communication so we can continue to let the game flourish. [link] [comments] |
To all those complaining about the game and eververse... Posted: 07 May 2020 05:04 PM PDT |
Thank you for the Heir Apparent, Bungie...but Guardian Games sucked. Posted: 07 May 2020 12:20 PM PDT From what I've seen from videos, I'm going to have a lot of fun with this LMG...much more fun than the slog it took to obtain it. By a mile. This event was nothing more than another bounty-ful chore to run through, and wasn't at all fun despite all the "data" you have to show how many people were engaged in it (for the record, I call bullshit on their charts from last week and their piss poor scoring adjustments. Warlocks were NEVER in the running at all and Hunter were shafted). Most people didn't play this event because it was fun, they played because of the weapon linked to it, not knowing when it might be available again. If that's how you're going to handle these seasonal events...keep them. At least the real prize isn't trash. That would've made this thing a complete loss. But make no mistakes...it's still a loss even with Heir. Please bring The Revelry back next year. I'd rather have stupid buffs in PVP than this. EDIT: Well...6 hours later and this post makes front page and gets response by the community team? Unexpected. Normally, I'm not negative about this game (hell, I mod over at /r/LowSodiumDestiny), but I had to sound off about this particular event and why I think it was a swing and a miss. Thanks to everyone for keeping it civil. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 07 May 2020 01:24 PM PDT So, blink makes you lose your radar, lose access to glide, makes you redraw your weapon, is glitchy af and lets people hit you from previous locations after you blink. You only get two, and that's it. Afterwards you're bunnyhopping. This jump was heavily nerfed as an overreaction to a strategy from 5 years ago and to make it usable you have to throw out an exotic slot for astrocyte. All paired with a class that has some of the worst grenades in the game on top of mediocre subclass trees that require you to akwardly cook grenades. On top of this, the class has unarguably some of the worst supers in the game (Both novabombs are so slow, you can dawnblade skate out of them at damn-near point-blank range and have spectral-blades just slap you out of super before it's even leaves your hand, not to mention how it spawns out of the camera, and not your actual hand, so it can clip on geometry above, and behind your character model. Meanwhile, hunters have dodges at the press of the button that reload guns (compared to rift which has 4x the cooldown at takes 2 seconds to activate), or give free melee ability, ranged melees, invisibility, built-in sprint speed buffs, better supers across the board, all sorts of ability regen synergy. Every subclass has a unique passive ranging from instantly getting their melee/nade back to better radar, to wall-hacks, and better weapon stability (and super recharge) Top tree dawn has solar AoE DoT nades that are just better Void nades in every way, and a tracking ranged melee, mid-air burst motion, access to perfect air-accuracy, one of the fastest and most powerful supers in the game, and passives that give melee back. Titans aren't quite as far ahead but they have shields that are specifically really good in trials, and everyone knows Titan has the best exotics, and some really solid nades Even still each Titan subclass generally has a cool mechanic added that is far less punishing and risky than voidwalker's grenade-eating effects. It feels like voidwalker and blink can't be good because there's so few people left using it, and when it has something good, everyone complains. I'd been blinking since 2014. I can backwards blink onto small platforms on some ported D1 maps from sheer practice in that game. But I finally moved on to nightstalker and top-tree dawn-blade because it just has way more utility. As someone who challenges himself to use blink on jumping puzzles because I love the jump so much, it's 2020, can the jump get revisited? I know there aren't many people still using blink, but can it get some love. John Weisnewski's gone, you don't have to force warlocks to have dry eyes anymore. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 07 May 2020 08:47 PM PDT Just the title basically. For those that kept complaining about Bungie not listening, they clearly are. The game will not be completely fixed, PvP balance still has to be worked on, PvE pinnacle rewards too, but this is more than just a "step on the right direction", it's a fucking pre-nerf Titan skate in the right direction. Thanks [link] [comments] |
Khovostov Exotic that has all 3 anti Champion mods built in Posted: 07 May 2020 05:02 PM PDT The Khovostov in D1 had the ability to be an auto, a scout and a pulse Imagine having that as an exotic primary that has access to all 3 champion mods The Auto for Overloads The Scout for Barriers The Pulse for Unstoppable And let it swap between them like Cerberus does, on the fly triple threat champion killer Edit: Someone suggested the square to change would be too broken, but being able to change in the menu like D1 and having it lock in endgame content would be better [link] [comments] |
The warlock bond for Guardian Games is much better, Bungie. Posted: 07 May 2020 05:38 PM PDT As a warlock main, this bond is much more towards the direction I want to see bonds. Bigger, flashier, cool effects. More like this please! [link] [comments] |
I created some Destiny 2 Europa armor designs! Posted: 07 May 2020 12:27 PM PDT I'm a comic artist and I'm a huge fan of Destiny 2. I wanted to design a fireteam with armor sets that were Europa inspired. I'm just excited about being able to run around in a snow-themed area I guess. It turned out pretty cool so I thought I'd share it. Hope y'all like the designs! You can find more of my art on my Artstation. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 May 2020 04:38 PM PDT Dark Below Taken King Rise of Iron Osiris Warmind Forsaken Shadowkeep Yes, I said Osiris. Not the best but still good. The seasons have stunk. My opinion. Year 4 is going to be great. Edit. House of Wolves was dope too. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 May 2020 05:26 PM PDT There are so many sets that I collected and dismantled and don't really feel like grinding again. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 May 2020 02:50 PM PDT Sometimes I pretend to be a photographer in destiny and I was genuinely surprised with how this came out. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 May 2020 03:59 PM PDT Industry officials normally estimate that it takes approximately 2 years for a reasonable amount of people to transition to next gen. Bungie likely learned their lesson from D1 and decided to stick with D2 so they could avoid having to develop D3 for both current and next gen. For the benefit of those that weren't around during D1 days, Bungie made the tough decision to stop supporting Ps3 and Xbox 360 at some point due to tech limitations. Ancillary to this, they were really struggling to maintain parity amongst all versions of Destiny because of how outdated the old console infrastructure was. This, unfortunately, negatively affected the Ps4 and Xbox One versions to a certain extent. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 May 2020 06:24 PM PDT Decided to make a Bingo game for this year's Vidoc. Please note none of this is coming from a place of hate; while I feel the typical lull of the Destiny "off-season" of March-September, I figured why not try and predict the usual hype elements. Have fun, make your own. [link] [comments] |
Here's a list of Exotics that I think should get anti champion abilities Posted: 07 May 2020 08:52 AM PDT Exotics, we all love 'em, can't use any of 'em in Nightfalls because of the champions. And since not everyone has raid exclusive exotics or old season pass content, I thought that some already existing ones could get an upgrade to let people play how they want. So here's what I've come up with so far: Anti Barier:Wish Ender - fully drawn shots Thorn - while Mark of the Devourer is active Hardlight - ricochet rounds penetrate bariers (easy to pull off unless the champion is above you) Skyburner's Oath - already penetrates Cabal shields Arbalest - already does extra damage to elemental shields Prometeus Lens - melts shields Unstoppable:Borealis - shots boosted by the Ionic Return perk stagger unstoppable champions (too situational but I just want to have a reason to use Borealis tbh) Malfeasance - slug explosion staggers unstoppables
One Thousand Voices - explosion from Unforseen Reprecussions staggers The Queenbreaker - blinds champions Coldheart - freezes enemies in their steps Overload:Tommy's Matchbook - continuous fire disrupts champions Thunderlord - Reign Havoc disrupts champions Le Monarque - poison arrows disrupt champions Jötunn - toasts champions Tractor Cannon - Repulsor Force supresses champions Xenophage - big boom causes a concussion [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 May 2020 12:37 AM PDT Moving edits up since people like to not read stuff before opting in a discussion. Edit1: Just woke up (not really, more like finally looked at my phone after writing a geo paper), and I realize that I kinda wrote the title biased on today's standard of a super. Prior to pre-nerf spectral and striker, nw was absolutely a unit, despite this, I feel like it would've fit well in spectral/striker meta. Nova warp was absolutely busted lmao. Still nerfed way too deep underwater. Edit2: Since it was apparently obviously, this is a pvp focused discussion. Nova warp was always trash in pve, devour and charged nades are both top ten in the game for pve. Edit3: I didn't talk much about blink, and while I do love blink because I've spent countless hours learning the movement and what not, it's still a shell of its former self. It's main use is now to flee than anything else, and even then, with momentum being your main fuel with blink, have fun running. This recent post advocates for the buff of blink, and I mostly agree. Also don't forget that sometimes Astrocyte will bug out and actually make you pull out weapons slower. Alongside voidwalker as a whole, there's very little that's good about any tree left. Top tree and bottom tree suffer from the same "i happened to keep my momentum going up, therefore, my nova bomb explodes because it clipped the ceiling above me" syndrome. Devour is situational at best due to the nature of constantly trading, in gunfights, often not being worth charging up and wasting a nade for. and while top trees charged nades are a delight, again, a second to charge it up can often be .2 seconds too late, especially with any hunter running above 90 mobility being able to use their first jump to avoid the AoE of a charged vortex nade (arguably their best nade), and axion bolts still being buggy best. (sucks that they don't do the weird damage glitch thing that skip nades can do sometimes :( ) It's not worth talking about scatter nades, they just fucking suck. Not even charging them will save them. Nova warp can be fixed so easily...either let us charge faster, or let us charge while dashing and even keep the charge during a dash. I wouldn't suggest giving more resilience because it wouldn't exactly solve it's issues. And remove self damage with handheld, that's all you gotta do. It sucked as is that half the time the blast would explode in front of me, now it can kill me. So now in that lengthy 1 second charge time, it lets me have second thoughts about not moving left and up as to make sure I don't accidentally kill myself on my 7th game of trials. :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 May 2020 12:56 PM PDT I'd only have 10 cents. It's just kinda weird that it's happening twice. [link] [comments] |
The bergusia forge warden seems to be more tanky lately. Posted: 07 May 2020 07:08 AM PDT I know how to fight fallen walkers but I am failing this forge on the boss stage more often than not which didn't used to be the case. Even when using good boss damage weapons I am unable to kill the boss before the time runs out. Blueberries using double primaries and a machine gun probably contributes to this but I am still able to kill the other forge bosses easily. [link] [comments] |
A Guide For What You Are Missing Out On Posted: 07 May 2020 07:11 PM PDT Destiny 2: A Comprehensive Guide for the Completionist. Well, it seems as there is currently a lot of negativity on this subreddit regarding the state of Destiny. I am not saying this is entirely uncalled for, however, A large majority of aforementioned stigma, I think, is due to the mondaine, frustrating, and boring day-to-day bounty grind. Yet, Destiny 2 is filled with a variety of activities that are overshadowed by this usual grind. That is why I have created a large list of possible things to do in the game for my fellow Guardians to do - especially with the large amount of downtime most people have due to the current situation. I am not saying to do all of these activities, as there are a lot, however, if you like Destiny and just want to play and do something different, this is the list. I have tried to keep out stuff with requires a huge grind, but it is Destiny we are talking about after all.
Collect currently attainable Armour sets for each class: - [ ] Warlock - [ ] Titan - [ ] Hunter
Jump around and explore every unique planet and locations Destiny has to offer - complete all the triumphs for each destinations: - [ ] Titan - [ ] European Dead Zone - [ ] Io - [ ] Mars - [ ] Mercury - [ ] Nessus - [ ] The Tower - [ ] Tangled Shores - [ ] Dreaming City - [ ] The Moon
I've found a great many resources for things listed above, which I've listed below. Again I am not saying to do all of these, just if you like Destiny, and are looking for something different to do, this is a good list for that. Again, just have fun. Titans, victory is secured! Its time to help our Warlocks get second place! Posted: 07 May 2020 01:40 AM PDT We have done it! We won Guardian games. But with current system in place, even tho Warlocks got second place for so many days in the row, and worked hard for it, they will still get bronze if we will not let them take at least one day! Hunters did nothing this whole event! They do not deserve second place! I for one, going to log in on my Warlock (and I played only Titan in Guardian Games for two weeks straight!) and going to turn in some medals and bounties to support Warlocks. One day right now counts for two, so if we let Warlocks win even for one day, it will be enough for silver for them. And truth be told - silver going towards hunters, who just showed up for one day just feels wrong. Lets help Warlocks get silver! [link] [comments] |
From an excited new player: I got Hush! Posted: 07 May 2020 02:43 PM PDT Yes, I know that's not the most exciting thing in the world for most of the people here but it was a big moment for me! Thanks to quarantine here in the UK I decided to pick up Destiny 2 last month and have played...quite a lot....over the past few weeks. Hush was the first item I really decided to really grind for and after many, many games of Gambit I just picked it up. Am really enjoying bows in PvP so looking forward to using this for a bit. I've had an absolute blast playing over the last few weeks though am slightly concerned how I'll have time when work begins again. Thank you for indulging an exciting new player! Posted: 07 May 2020 02:35 PM PDT Picture this, you have seventy 74 motes in the bank, all but one teammate has no motes, but one player has 8, what do they do? Waste time and collect two more motes all for a captain that will likely be killed in under 30 seconds. Want to get heavy ammo for invading? No the blueberry is gonna pick it up and use their 750 light blue rocket launcher and come back with no kills. No I don't think that's there's really a solution to this but I just wanted to se want you guys think about gambit team structure [link] [comments] |
Austringer (Broken Bird, to be Healed) Posted: 07 May 2020 09:28 PM PDT Austringer (Broken Bird, to be Healed) - 9x12"/22x30cm mixed media on wood panel. Painted from my Outlaw/Rampage/Handling MW roll, with the ornament and Gift of the Nine shader. I decided to put this over a collage I'd started previously with no real specific goal. The collage element I'd put in ("THE PERKS") had me thinking for a while about whether or not any particular hand cannon would work for the composition, and I couldn't decide. So I went with Austringert. Because I just really like my Austringer. Outlaw/Rampage are fairly vanilla perks at this point, but they still feel so strong on this weapon. Anyway, Guardians, hope you're all staying safe out there and enjoying the big announcements from today's TWAB. Chz. [link] [comments] |
