    Umbral Engrams randomly being powerful was an enjoyable loot grind

    I saw today that they actually fixed the "issue" where Umbral Armor Engrams randomly awarded powerful gear drops. I actually think this was entirely unneeded and it gets to the heart of what's wrong with the power grind.

    You know what was nice? Knowing that no matter what activity I was playing I had a really good chance of getting at least one (and often several) powerful drop just for playing. It felt organic, it felt like I was progressing my character by just playing the game the way I enjoy playing.

    The way powerful gear is handed out now feels much more like checking off a chore list than just logging in and playing the game. And the crazy thing is that Umbral Engrams were literally the perfect solution as they were. It honestly didn't need fixing.

    It's not going to level people up crazy fast for not playing. And if people want to just play Nightmare Hunts over and over, let them. Who cares? They're playing the game the way they want to. It's not like hitting the power cap this season is going to cut down on the grind in September, people just wanna play the new content or check things off their list before things go away in September.

    I really hope Bungie takes some lessons about the Power grind this season.

    The thing that annoys me the most about Bungie is how any bug that helps players is fixed INSTANTLY while any bug that HINDERS players can take weeks to months to fix. This has been a constant for 7 years.

    Umbrals dropping powerful drops? People AFK farming a activity or found a cheese to make it easy? Someone found a free powerful chest in a activity like in Crota's End? Better fix that right away!

    Contact boss triumph counting the wrong boss? Perk on Umbral Recaster making it take double energy to level? Sprinting bugged? We won't comment on it let alone fix it till next month.

    THIS RIGHT HERE is why people go on about how Bungie have a "play OUR way" attitude.

    Killing the Taken Pyromaster Last week (Heroic version) counted as the Monstrosity, and killing the Monstrosity this week doesn’t count for anything else.

    Was looking at the Forerunner triumphs. You need to kill each of the three bosses on heroic for the contact event. Last week, killing the Pyromaster checker off the box for the Monstrosity. Was hoping it was just a bug and killing the boss this week would check a different box. Nope, completed heroic Contact right after reset and killing the Taken Monstrosity didn't change anything else.

    Unfortunate technical waste of a week for the triumph. No biggie and these things happen, but hoping it gets fixed

    If they resell old content I think they'd make their game dead overnight.

    I don't care if you revamp it later on, you took it out. We want resources devoted to making new content, not refacing old content.

    It's been a while since I regularly sacrificed my wallet at the Wizards of the Coast Alter, might get something wrong.

    Standard is a format of Magic the Gathering that restricts players to only use cards from the core set, and the last three set expansions. As each new set releases, it pushes one out.

    This allows the meta to shift and remain fresh without having to worry about players combining cards from older sets into truly terrifying, unbeatable situations. And it obviously pushes players to check out the next expansion to acquire new cards, and remain relevant, if you're playing competitively. You can always throw a deck together with a friend and see how it goes.

    The comparison to sun setting makes itself. However, there is such a notable difference between Standard and Sunsetting:

    Any printing of a card is legal in a format as long as that card has been printed in a set that is legal in that format.

    What does this mean? If you've got a copy of counterspell from 6th edition, you can use it. Yes, another game's mechanic, but we can learn lessons from the execution, by observing the similarities and differences.

    What would this look like in Destiny? Exactly how everyone is clamoring for: when a gun has its day in the sun, do that for all versions of that weapon. If I have a gun from the Red War, masterworked with a thousand kills, and it should renter viability for infusion at the current power of the season.

    What does this mean for the player experience? I just got a masterworked Felwinters Lie, from a FOMO questline and I'm loving it. When Felwinter's lie is sunset, I'm going to stick it in my vault with all my exotics and masterworked weapons. Where it'll sit and I'll ask if I should delete it for vault space. The memory of how I acquired it is part of what makes Destiny special. That, not FOMO, is why I play.

    Then, for whatever reason, Felwinter's Lie sunrises. Currently, this means I find a new one and... should delete the old, mostly unusable one. If being sunrise makes older versions infusible, that memory, or good experience with this game, is rewarded. I get an extra bonus of wielding the original Fellwinter's Lie Rasputin gave me and bragging about it with my fellow guardians. The story of how I got the weapon becomes legend.

    Without Sunrising, Sunsetting feels cheap when I get the exact same weapon I'm wielding, just with a different number. Not a good experience.

    TL;DR equipment from older expansions with perks in the current season should Sunrise to the Season's light cap, just as you can use an older printing of MTG card if it's legal in Standard.

    A server-side fix has been implemented that will resolve the following issues:

    Players weren't receiving the appropriate amount of Twisted Energy after earning Umbral Enhancement II

    Focused Umbral Engrams could sometimes decrypt at higher Power than intended.

    Bugged Triumphs for Forerunner title

    There are two (that I know of) glitched/ bugged triumphs for forerunner. 1) Contact: Heavy Hitters displays the pyromaster as being the monstrosity being killed. 2) Upgrade Gifts Ranks only shows 1 upgrade being obtained but I have got many more. Has anyone else had this?

    Idea on how to explain The Vault of Glass returning in the story.

    Okay, so my idea is pretty basic.

    So Atheon was defeated in D1 right? Our guardians took on our first real enemy in our first ever raid, but what if the reason we won in Destiny 1 is because we had a little help...from our future selves?

    What I'm saying here is that in the D2 version of the Vault of Glass, we should be fighting Atheon at his prime, a past version of himself that is much stronger. Maybe has some new mechanics up his sleeve?

    Instead of killing him in D2, we severely weaken/cripple Atheon and force him to retreat...to the past.

    He then meets our 2014 selves and gets finished off by 6 nova bombs pushing him off the map :D

    I don't know if the lore contradicts any of this but I just thought it'd be a cool way to reintroduce an old raid that dealt with Time Travel in the first place.

    This will probably get buried because it's a pc only problem. But I have to try as this issue has been going on since the beginning of season 10 three months ago.

    Beaver errors? Is anything still being done to stop them. They were being mentioned every twab for awhile but lately it has been relegated to the "known issues" page.

    I personally don't understand how this hasn't taken more priority. For end game content this is literally a pass or fail problem in this game.

    Trials - 1 error code and your flawless run is over. For some crucible gods this isn't a problem. But me a slightly above average player this is a huge problem. It's not guaranteed for me to go flawless every week due to better players. I shouldn't have to fight the game too.

    Raids - while less of an issue it is super frustrating to deal with error codes in an activity that can already take time. I have stopped teaching raids because I can't wait for the perfect storm of Timmy two thumbs getting his dps down and not getting beavered during dps.

    Competitive - VERY frustrating to see beaver codes here. Get two of them in a short period of time, happens quite often mind you, and enjoy your comp suspension.

    I like everyone else am very excited for year 4 of D2. But bungie is not getting a single extra penny from me until I can reliably stay connected to the game. Please update us on this.

    Masterworked Trinity Ghoul kill tracker doesn't count how many enemies I made go BZZZZZZT.

    I'm adoring this new PVE monster for ad-clear but noticed an issue after finishing the Catalyst. After storming through multi-hour session, I noted my kill counter was barely over 200. A quick test revealed that only direct bow shots count and not the BZZZZZT kills after.

    Bungie, please?

    Destiny definitely shouldn’t cater to only the top 1% players, but they also shouldn’t cater to the bottom 1% either

    If you don't have even an hour a week to put into destiny, and you complain you can't get loot....maybe this game isn't for you. Try cod or fortnite.

    You need to put in some time to get loot in a looter shooter, shit won't just fall into your lap (minus the forge exploit we just had)

    4. Fly to Nessus, grab Failsafe's bounties, then run the Insight Terminus Strike. This should clear her bounties, Zavala's Challenging Enemies bounty, and the Prismatic Recaster Cabal bounty.
    5. Fly to Io, grab Asher's Bounties, then run patrols and grab chests while playing a Contact Event. This will clear his two and put a dent in two Weeklies. (10 minutes)

    Total Non-Elemental Non-Weapon-Specific Bounties Cleared:

    • 19 Dailies
    • Field Calibration Weekly
    • Possibly "Do It" Drifter Weekly

    Total Time: 75 minutes

    Season Pass Catalyst Bonus should apply to Past Season Exotics

    The "Quest Bonus" 4x acceleration of Witherhoard at level 22 of the paid-for season pass should apply to other seasonal pass exotics.

    For background, I stopped playing D2 from the Season Of The Drifter up until the end of Season 9. So, I missed out on Leviathan's Breath and Eriana's Vow. I actually had the quest to complete Leviathan's Breath but hadn't finished it before Season 11 was released, and my quest was removed from my inventory. I didn't realize it would be time gated in that way.

    I get the Exotic Cipher at level 55 of this season pass, and use it to buy Eriana's Vow. Eriana's Vow catalyst, that I then picked up from Gunsmith, requires 400 games of strikes/crucibles/gambit. Even if I just grinded Team Scorched in crucible, that'd still be about 40 hours of play time to complete that quest. I figure just playing the game normally and I'll be lucky if I get it done in the next 120 hours of play time.

    That seems such a harsh grind for this quest. If it were only 100 games of strikes/crucibles/gambit with the current season pass 4x Quest Bonus catalyst accelerator then that'd just be way more reasonable. I can't see a good reason not for this to be the case.

    Pit allows you to be kicked without reward; Bungie, please fix this.

    Today I was running a Pit with to randoms off the D2 app. After we cleared the entire dungeon, the fireteam leader (per sub rules his name isn't posted) booted me and the other random after the boss died, but before the treasure chest. Not only did I not get my pinnacle reward, but I am now unable to get a drop from the boss because my game registers me as having cleared it. Nothing in my post master. When I load in, it places me at the beginning, and there is no reward listed on the moon where you would select it.

    I haven't been griefed much in this community in the last six years, but it's still frustrating when it does happen. Is there any way to fix this? Also, does anything ever happen to these toxic people?

    Applying artifact mod shouldn't cost 5k glimmer

    I really don't understand why this is happening again after all the feedback about this. You change it for 500 glimmer and everyone was happy because you listen to us and this season you revert this change... Why ? I really hope it's a bug.
