Hey guys, I just escaped from some weird time trap aboard that smoldering wreck over the hill. Don't really know what that was about. Anyway I'm ready to finish this Red War and bring the fight to Ghaul!

If it takes 20 tokens to increase reputation with Zavala and Shaxx, can I just turn in 20 at a time, instead of 10?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 11:59 AM PDT

Would be nice when turning in a lot of Vanguard and Crucible tokens.

The ending for this dry season was good

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 11:32 AM PDT

Whether you liked this season or not, you gotta admit that this community tower event was epic. Although I waited forever for it to happen, it was well worth the wait. Seeing that ship fly by us on fire and barely missing us gave me a feeling of hype and fear. I hope bungie does more stuff like this, because this was amazing and fun

I actually don't get how you all hate gambit so much.

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 08:08 PM PDT

I really don't get it, it's not a bad gamemode in the slightest. Before you say that haven't played enough to know how bad it is, I have both the dredgen and reckoner title. I've played gambit much more than the average player, and what I realized is; Gambit is not bad, the matchmaking/players are. If you all actually played the gamemode and didn't run around and lose 15 motes maybe you would actually realize the mode is not that bad. Maybe if you all actually tried a little bit and didn't steal the portal from the guy with a red glow and 2000+ revoker kills, to go invade with your hawthorne's field forged shotgun, you would see that it's not that bad. Maybe if you didn't take the last mote on the floor from the collector with 19 motes, just to go bank 3, you would see that it's not that bad. Maybe if you all actually sat down and played the game, you would see that it is infact not that bad.

Sorry if im being toxic, but gambit is not bad, people just play it selfishly, and then say "gambit is the worst".

Datto’s thoughts on the recent season

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 05:37 PM PDT

    https://youtu.be/qxYaSnVbB_A

I have never seen him so angry. As one who didn't play this last season, it's sad to hear it went so poorly. If your content creators are this unhappy, there's a severe issue going on.

I'll be watching season 11, ready to jump back in if it looks good.

Wouldn't it be cool if instead of flashpoints just being these weekly events they became full on warzone with overall community goals?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 10:17 AM PDT

Imagine if you flew down to a flashpoint, for this let's say the EDZ because its the current one. Instead of it just being this little activity that leaves the planet mostly unchanged, it turns it into a complete and utter warzone.

The first notable changes could be minor visual stuff, explosions in the sky whilst you fly into the area, sounds of gunfire and explosions, maybe some badass music.

Once you land, obviously the changes could be a lot more notable. More visual ones being small ship battles in the sky with more small explosions along with the occasional guardian skip maybe.

On the ground the changes would be much more noticeable, a small stronghold could be set around the drop point, and frames could be defending the area, which could work for a small flashpoint exclusive event maybe, where the stronghold gets attacked by a certain faction and you have to defend it. Actually, events could be made more common too, maybe with newer ones similar to that involving the defense of a group of frames until they reach a certain group of enemies that you have to eliminate. Hell, enemies could have a few strongholds too. Patrols could be further diversified too, maybe there could be new ones like retrieve a dead ghost, or frame (I'm gonna be saying frame a lot more by the way) or open a few special chests.

Remember how the Vex Offensive had those Vex on the moon who teleported into areas as a special little thing. That would make a return for flashpoints with different factions and maybe a few frames assaulting. Vehicle and enemy patrols would also be and many more would appear. This could even be said for frame patrols, basically everywhere would have a small battle going on, and intervention in some would end with a small low level rewards chest.

Turrets could be scattered around the place too along with maybe the non functional return of Warmind Bunkers as a cool little area to defend and hang out in. Maybe even a Warsat crash every so often to explain why the bunkers have opened.

Now time for a few more outlandish suggestions.

    A control level.

What I mean by this is a level of control the enemy have over the region. It would me shown on the region map by a red overlay with a higher coverage meaning a higher enemy control. A higher enemy control would mean a higher enemy spawn rate, less special events specific to flashpoints, less frames and maybe even traps being laid all over the region. Maybe if the enemy finish the flashpoint with over 50 percent control, it'd contribute to a planetary control level, which keeps the flashpoint enemy control features there on that planet past the flashpoint. These could even culminate in a minor live event on the final reset, although that's more unlikely than the control levels.

A special strike that'd allow you to storm the enemy mother ship looming over the region if we gain 90 percent control which would reward a special weapon or reward from past seasons that aren't currently available.

Special clan rewards depending on how much they've done to push back the enemy on the flashpoint control they've contributed. It'd obviously have to be significant, but if they do, maybe they could get a clan banner based around the planet and a special clan perk for the season. Only 1 clan could get these each flashpoint

TLDR: Unlikely ideas, but basically - EXPLOSIONS, FRAMES, COOL EVENTS, QUIRKY PATROLS AND A OVERALL LEVEL OF CONTROL DEPENDING ON THE AMOUNT PLAYERS DO IN THE FLASHPOINT!

And yes, I'm aware some of theses are dumb, but I just kinda threw everything I thought at the screen, what do you all think of these idea? Got anymore?

EDIT: Here's a few ideas people have put in the comments so they're easier to see, I would put their usernames but I'm doing an all nighter and just can't be bothered to remember, so here we go -

    BRIGHT DUST REWARD

    SPECIAL BOSSES

DRIFTER V VANGUARD FACTION TERRITORY CONTROL, WHICH WOULD BE VERY COOL AND ADD ANOTHER LAYER TO CONTROL

INSTANCES HAVING A MATCHING THING WERE IT MAKES SURE YOU'RE PAIRED UP WITH 3 OTHER FIRE TEAMS IN THE AREA IF YOU'RE IN ONE

Why were these voice lines cut. They add so much to Zavala

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 04:03 AM PDT

    These are the lines

I think it would have been awesome for these lines to be in game they add depth to Zavala's character. People might stop seeing him as the coward that didn't avenge Cayde. We hear him struggle with the role as leader after the Speakers death, worry about Cayde and him question the Traveller.

I like to imagine that deep inside the ventilation system of the Tower there is a secret bar that only Ghosts go to

Nobody is talking about it but I checked on twitch durning the event there was well over 75,000 people viewing the live event Bungie hosted.

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 05:41 PM PDT

Which is think is excellent and it shows the community is still interested and supports Bungie and it's streamers. I hope Bungie sees that. No pressure though Bungie 😊

Since we were waiting this long i really noticed that Drifter was in the Tower during the event, he should've been gone that day.

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 03:56 PM PDT

    Title.
Let's be real, Drifter would never take any chances. He'd flee and watch it all from orbit. For the duration of the event he should've been replaced with a paper taped to his spot saying like "Good Luck" or his room should've been closed with the paper taped outside. Low effort thing that would give it all a nice touch. Especially if we'd connect it to the cutscene we saw.

    Felwinter's Helm Painting

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 08:55 AM PDT

"To survive out here, you need eyes in the back of your head."

Felwinter's Helm - 12x12"/30x30cm mixed media on wood panel.

Finished this one up Friday night, very happy with how it turned out. It's been inspiring to see so many artists in the Destiny community doing renditions of this character. The story that revealed Felwinter and the design of his gear gives the world so much depth. Really enjoyed that part of the seasonal content.

Hope everyone is doing well this weekend. Stay safe out there, Guardians.

A cabal or fallen strike in season 12 that takes place in the crashed ruins of the almighty would be really cool.

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 02:08 AM PDT

A whisper-esque quest would be cool too.

Fallen or Cabal inhabiting it would make sense. Cabal... because it's their ship and they could likely be trying to recover something, or fallen who would be scavenging busted cabal tech for their own use.

Reminder that weapon telemetry and Pure Matterglass Lenses are practically useless. Please make them worth more gunsmith materials

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 07:56 PM PDT

Sitting on well over 200 Pure Matterglass Lenses because the amount of gunsmith mats you can realistically get by popping them is literally not worth the 4 seconds of effort.

Please make the telemetries worth 10-20 gunsmith mats instead of 1, they are clearly a remnant of when gunsmith packages took 20 instead of 100 per package.

When this season ends I would like to see the seraph bunker entrance hatch doors in the open world

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 11:56 AM PDT

Since the seraph bunker hatches opened and cleared debris above the hatch, when the hatches close and if it does, I hope we can still see the doors just closed rather than the entire entrance just disappeared as if the bunkers were never there in the first place

As a player with semi-low end PC, I would like to thank Bungie for nailing the frame pacing on PC

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 08:20 AM PDT

Many of you are familiar with the term Framerate Per Second, but if you ever set your PC game to 30 fps, you will notice it is much more erratic than its console counterparts. So why does console 30 fps looks smoother than PC 30 fps?

Frame Pacing comes into play, it dictate the time between each frame, and if it remains consistent, then your game would look evenly paced and less erratic.

Many PC games and ports handle Frame Pacing poorly, but due to high framerate on good PC, usually higher than 60 fps, this problem is masked.

As someone who has to play D2 on 40 or even 30 fps, I would like to thank Bungie for nailing the Frame Pacing on PC. That's all.

[Possible Spoilers] Rasputin decoded. Russian Subtitles will follow.

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 04:34 AM PDT

So... I finished Warmind Yesterday and I found out the Audio is reversed from Rasputin.

The following from a German boy half Ukrainian and also Fluent in Ukrainian:He speaks mixxed language. Russian AND Ukrainian on some points. (As far as I can understand)

The Audio becomes even creepier if you reverse the Audio.

It is reversed and somewhat Distorted. I can barely understand it.

    But one thing is creeepy:

    - In normal version you can hear:

Я Распутин (Ja Rasputin (I am rasputin))

In the reversed you can hear it also.

The best way to understand the speech would be on 0,90 Pitch and 85% Audiospeed

I used the extracted audiofile (found on youtube) and the Music Speed Changer App for android.

    He says somewhat like:

    >! I found my main [Distorted] (meaning?)("prescribing" if Ukrainian (?)

[Distorted in reversed. In normal version it said: "I am Rasputin"]

I [distorted] (logically it was "protected") with my own power [distorded] mankind

    I am Rasputin

    But your kind [Long silence]

    [Distorted]

I will create my own Rules(?))

But your kind used me as a (mindless) weapon.

[The rest is too distorted to understand it with my basic technology]

Russian Translation (Incomplete but best I could understand) (The Brackets are the same words 1 to 1 translated)

To enter it into a reader (I tested https://ttsmp3.com/text-to-speech/Russian/ ) copy this text:

    Я нашел свой основной значение

[Distorted in reversed. In normal version it said: «Я Распутин»]

Я защитил своей собственной силой человечество.

    Я Распутин.

    Но ваш род

    ...

    ...

Я создам свои собственные правила .

Но ваш род использовал меня как (бессмысленное) оружие.!<

I wish we'd see more of Ikora.

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 11:46 AM PDT

Hear me out. I honestly love the destiny 2 cast to death. I love the vanguard fireteam (zav, ikora, and cayde: rip in peace). But I feel like most seasons recently have been mostly tied to Zavala. I understand he's the titan leader of the vanguard and titans are more or less the US Marines of guardians, meaning they're in the face of action and such. And I can kinda understand why we don't see anything from hunter vanguards because... well... Cayde's dead and no one's replaced him sooo... But all book reading memes and jokes aside, I wish warlocks and Ikora specifically would get more of a role in a season or so. She was ~kinda~ prominent when Shadowkeep came out but honestly, the extent of her involvement was "Eris is in trouble, get help her out" and that's about it. I'd love for like the darkness expansion or something for Ikora to step up and have us infiltrate a pyramid ship or whatnot so her and Osiris or whatever can work around some magic seed that can aid us in fighting it. Or I'd honestly love to see her do some badass warlock rituals, instead of getting some comm feed from Zavala saying guardian we're in trouble (again) go punch stuff. Again, I don't want anyone to misinterpret what I'm saying as "Zavala and titans suck and all I want is warlocks in the story". I just wish the warlock vanguard had more of a prominent role in the story. that's all :)

TL:DR: I think Ikora is a very well made character with great backstory and lore and I'd love to see her more involved and upfront with the coming seasons/storylines

Feedback Thread for Bows and redundant stat Stability for the Upcoming Rework

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 07:34 AM PDT

    Greetings Guardians,

Ever since I started playing Destiny 2, bows were always my favourite weapons to play around with in PvP primarily. As such, I was delighted to know about an upcoming rework to Bow's damage in PvE.

Taking this chance, I want to bring to attention one particular issue with Bows which has always irked me, that being how redundant the stat Stability is for bows. We have so many options of Arrow shafts and Strings but it always comes down to Draw time and Accuracy because other stat in these options, Stability does not do anything at all. (Yes, I have tested in both Mouse/Keyboard and Controller).

Bow shots have so much time between their shots that any effect that stability might have is completely nullified. Bows are generally never used as straight rapid-fire weapons which means that stability virtually never comes into play.

In fact, I decided to test the rapid-fire possible conditions to see if Stability at all makes any difference, by comparing Hush(46 stability) with Point of the stag(60 stability) and Subtle Calamity (72 stability roll). All three weapons had the exactly same camera kick-back on firing which is virtually unnoticeable being very minuscule and immediately the camera restores itself anyway even before the next arrow is nocked, making it conclusively evident that Stability is doing literally nothing.

On other hand, the benefits of Accuracy and Draw time is significant. After sun-setting of Subtle Calamity, Hush and Arsenic Bite, the only viable legendary energy bow going forward is Point of the Stag. It's Arrow shaft is Natural Fletching(+14 Stability -4 Accuracy). This means the only remaining legendary Energy Precision bow basically has a negative roll for its stats overall as the increased Stability is not doing anything at all.

Seeing that currently Stability is not doing anything at all, I believe Stability for bows should be reworked to increase the time for which a Bow charge can held and decrease the rate at which aim deteriorates due to holding the charge. It would make much more sense thematically as a stable bow should allow holding the arrow for a longer time.

/u/dmg04 /u/Cozmo23 Tagging you guys, hoping to get some attention to this issue :)

Raids are what separates destiny from other first person shooters

    Posted: 06 Jun 2020 11:56 PM PDT

I love call of duty. Zombies, aliens and PvP were my favorite last times thru college. I've always enjoyed the halo campaigns and some PvP. Destiny raids were what really hooked me on the franchise. It's what keeps me coming back to playing thru all it's faults. I love the puzzles, atmospheres, and mechanics. I hope we get at least one more short raid every year and they really lean into raid like mechanics. It's truly the separator.
