Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding 'Contact Public Event' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

One of the biggest disappointments of year 3 has been no whisper/outbreak style mission

    Posted: 27 Jul 2020 06:40 AM PDT

That is some of the highest quality content in the game. Mastering zero hour was one of my favorite parts of year 2. I'm glad we got prophecy, but I really would have loved and outbreak style mission during season of worthy.

The more I think about how the Solarium on Titan is being removed, the sadder I get.

    Posted: 27 Jul 2020 09:22 AM PDT

It may be my personal opinion, but I always felt as though the Solarium was too underused for how awesome of an area it is.

It is one of my favorite locations in the game. I love aesthetic of the lonely, sunken ruins, the flickering lights of the colony buildings, and the dense foliage overgrowth. The "Ace in the Hole" mission is easily one of my favorites just because I got to dive deep in that dark and quiet, but beautifully haunting area and explore. (The Cayde recordings made the mission incredible too, of course.) Also, I honestly never got tired of running Savathun's Song strike because it was just an excuse to run through the area.

I've always wanted to see so much more of that area, but knowing it'll be gone soon just hurts.

I feel accomplished as a Sherpa this week, lead 5 first-timers through all 3 Leviathan raids this week.

    Posted: 27 Jul 2020 09:24 AM PDT

It was about 8-9 hours and the tension was high, but they pulled through. Levithan and eater of worlds were easy for them. SoS was difficult for them, the raid is quite time-sensitive for the final boss encounter. I believe it took 2 hours for the final boss until they were able to get it.

But it was worth it in the end, my mouth is dry, throat hurts and sleep-deprived.

EDIT: Thank you for the gold guardian, I don't need to be guilded just happy to help others.

Destiny is a looter shooter first.

    Posted: 27 Jul 2020 06:15 PM PDT

I don't make posts often, but the absolute lack of representation for how I feel about the game (especially in regards to sunsetting) has made me feel like I just need to put my two cents out there.

The way I see it, destiny is a looter shooter. Loot is the primary aspect of the game. I do not like that so many people are bashing sunsetting as the literal devil when I think it will do good things for the game. I rarely cared about any weapon that has been released since shadowkeep, not that there wasn't any good weapons, there were some good ones. It was the fact that the guns I already had (some of which for over a year) were just as good if not better. Or maybe the new guns were just not a big enough jump in power to justify grinding for them. There are some exceptions, like tranquility and breachlight, but both of which are very similar to older guns, just with better perk combos.

Sunsetting has made me care about getting new guns again, and it hasn't even been implemented yet. I have a reason to grind out true prophecy instead of using my god rolled bad news or loud lullaby for 3 more years. I can feel accomplished in getting a perfect roll on a cold denial instead of thinking "This is just as good as my Eystein-D, what was the point?" I understand that a lot of players aren't happy about losing some of their favorite guns and I get it. I don't like losing guns I like either. I'm really gonna miss exit strategy, blasphemer, hush etc. But if it leads to a revitalized loot experience then so be it. I want to have more moments where I get that god roll and can be excited instead of being indifferent because what I already have is just better or at least on par.

I've heard a lot of "Bungie should just release better guns and we'll grind for them" and that's honestly not a healthy mindset for Bungie to have. That mindset lead to Bungie making recluse, a gun that was so good it was literally the only gun so many people used. It also lead to the creation of the reckoning, which was released at a time where players were so powerful that the only way to kill them was by launching them off the map, or by having knight that one shot even in a well. So unless we want to go back to that I think sunsetting is the best move here. Either way doesn't adding objectively better guns to the game lead to sunsetting anyway? With the old guns being objectively worse than the old ones for end game content?

There are so many games where you can get a gun you really like and use it forever, like 95 percent of shooters are built that way. I hate to say it but we shouldn't throw out Destiny's identity to appeal to people who don't seem to like the concept of a looter shooter in the first place. Destiny probably should be constant treadmill of loot where you only ever feel like you're at the top gear wise fora short while and have to constantly be getting new and better stuff to be competitive in the end game.

I know everyone has differing opinions on this, but destiny gives me something no other game can, and I don't want it to be less like destiny when there are plenty of games that aren't destiny.

Edit: A lot of people seem to think the problem is with using the same old guns. I don't mind using the same old guns, I mind when I don't have a reason to grind or be excited when a new gun drops. I have 70,000 kills on telesto because its FUN not because its "the best" i use very off meta loadouts all the time. The problem is with the lack of interest I have in new guns. I can still use and like new guns, but I don't care when they drop because its nothing better or interesting. Theres no "fatebringer moments" anymore. I want to be excited when I find a gun, I dont necessarily want to use new guns.

This Week at Not Bungie - 7/27/2020 - AI Learning, Autocomplete-Generated TWAB

    Posted: 27 Jul 2020 08:00 AM PDT

You might know how this goes by now. I run a few TWAB articles into the Botnik predictive writer, which can generate sentences in an autocomplete fashion based on what you feed it.

Not Bungie has a website! All articles that have already seen their time on Reddit can be read over on https://notbungie.net/

We've also got a Not Bungie employee bio section where you can read up on fake people mentioned in these various articles. (Slowly updating over time.)

THIS WEEK AT NOT BUNGIE - 7/27/2020

This week at Not Bungie, we hope you enjoyed the server fixes. Beavers were blown into a dam at 100k rounds per second. We'd do it again.

PC was not appearing properly over the network quest. Beavers went on a mission to overcome Savathun, and won. When players reach 1000 power instead of their intended dagger date, you will receive a pride-swarm of prisms that will change your guardian into a random, power-using, prismatic cannon. Hope you're all safe because every weekend to the launch of Beyond Light needs your strengths.

    Wearing a Lot

Beyond Light is being pushed back to November so we can possibly make more information on this year. Grandmaster completion on the right community has started building deep services for players attempting to complete the game. The game can now be completed. When you get out, we just enjoy the winners on Xbox. Twitch Prime rewards are going to be available to all players who observe other players in the EDZ. To earn thousands of exotic engrams on your guardian, you can restart Destiny 2 and visit Twitter when players reach the tower. Be sweet to the standard-edition exotic or the architects will freeze our industry.

    Shell Remapping Live

We needed an extra month to get these changes coming. Getting guardians to freeze things needed the Bungie-Creation-Pool. Each expansion arose when players discovered that they didn't claim to share our intentions. After the blocked-week at platinum-level, capes should visit our four players who observe Twitch content. Here to get out of the environment is Senior Pyramid Ship, Ryan Nice.

Ryan: Nicole may have had a few lore readings to get your game time from one week to seven months. That's where the almost-mighty exotic ghost quest will have a season to deliver. Feels will be updated retroactively with the truly inspiring triumphs for subclasses that freeze your enemy beavers. Making changes to the core game rewards will be resolved with Beyond November. This wasn't intentional and we have confirmed that we're excited about any gaming community. Here are the bigger changes coming to Xbox.

    • Fixed an issue where Shadowkeep released in October 2019. Shadowkeep will now release in September 2020.

    • Adjusted support team members to make things feel like Netflix.

    • Increased Trials of Osiris matches to 30 rounds and 750 hours. Dying will now remove your loot for the next month.

    • Decreased Gambit matches to 21 minutes of donations while we announced our deadlines.

    • Increased Crucible quest to compensate for your pain.

    • Increased this adjustment note to 6.

    • Reduced Titan inputs on PC so we can possibly make Hunters aware of Warlocks.

    • Increased Hunter health when stowed.

    • Reduced Warlock years. Warlocks are now longer.

    • Adjusted auto rifles to 1880947200 damage per second.

    • Adjusted scout rifles to 48 Warlocks per god.

    • Reduced Bungie rewards to 800,000 emblems per 23 dollars spent in the Bungie store.

    • Adjusted Cozmo to write better headlines on the Steam whip. Get out of my strike.

    • Increased dmg04 to our support team. dmg04 will now take action in times of salvation.

    • Increased Nicole to powerful god slam. She will now remove you if you're looking for a chance to make the world an awful place.

    • Adjusted Deej to get back in the community. He's kind of like five Vex in a stack again.

    • Decreased Beaver errors back to stories on Twitter. They are not hungry for breakfast goodies anymore.

    • Increased Xbox configuration so the gameplay now guarantees 500 frames per second.

    • Adjusted PC subtweeting to 950 relays ago. 23 weapons are now available per every triumph earned in each Prophecy quest in chat inventories. This was difficult to read.

This is just a few months of back inputs and general cutting of socket inventories. I only believe this is going places.

    Movie of Twitch Dogs

Armor, weapons, eyes. What more could grant a million players the opportunity to showcase their fingers? This is where we highlight videos we continue to thank you for. Get out of my ears.

Movie of the Description: Come by the New Dungeon

Honorable Wish: Pass the iPads Will You?

Emblems come out of my popping lords. Take one before we forget our goal.

Another week, but we pledge our support to random progress families. This year was awful. Please wear your rewards from Amanda. She showed off your donation and mobile browser to Zavala so he could get stuck in the Prismatic Recaster. If you haven't already started tens of thousands of triumph objectives, it's too late. Lord, just make sure you have your license to game again or we'll share better headlines on Tuesday. I can't wait until Beyond Light sets the stage for more questions. But until then, this is your prize. Get back in the call or Lord Saladin is going to beaver you to the core.

    <3 dmg04

Edit: Just got home. Thank you, u/ChefDrizzt and u/Vantrasillian for the platinum awards, and u/QuidProWhoa and the two anonymous guardians for the "I'm Deceased" awards! I hope this post was able to brighten your days! Even if it's just a little, and just for a moment. :)

Can warlocks get some slightly increased melee damage in PvE to compensate for the slower hit speed?

    Posted: 27 Jul 2020 09:45 AM PDT

In crucible the increased range is kind of ok to balance out the slower speed (I would much prefer if all classes just had the same range and speed though) but in PvE it basically does nothing and it just takes longer for me to slap things to death than it does everyone else.

How to Sherpa 101: A foolproof guide on teaching newfriends how to raid

    Posted: 27 Jul 2020 07:04 AM PDT

Lotta threads complaining about people joining raids listed as KWTD that very much do not KWTD, or threads saying "don't be a dick to people who don't KWTD". I haven't seen a thread on the best ways to teach newbies how to raid, so here goes. These are things I've gathered over years of raiding in both games, especially over the 50+ LW and 88 Scourge clears I got trying to get their exotics.

    1. Be nice. This is 100% the most important thing. If someone screws up, and they will, the last thing they want is to be yelled at. Ask them what they did, politely explain why that's incorrect and how to do it properly. Teaching runs are going to take a while, you might get frustrated, you need to avoid that.
    2. Some things are going to take a few clears to figure out. Even in encounters that aren't really complicated, it can be difficult to frontload all the information. The Vault is the biggest issue with this here I've found, it's really not a complicated encounter, but there's a lot of things to explain. So even if you perfectly explain how an encounter works, expect a few clears to have all the pieces fall into place.
    3. Assume total ignorance. I've found that a lot of people who raid first time haven't read or watched guides, and that's fine! It can be hard to understand what an article is saying if it doesn't have a lot of pictures (especially since terminology soon after a raid comes out isn't set in stone), and videos can be long as hell and boring to watch. A lot of people want to go into a raid and learn by doing, and imo that's the best way. Don't assume that they know all the little things you know, that antumbra is right and penumbra is left, stuff like that.
    4. Don't try for the hyperoptimized one-phase clear unless it's objectively easier to pull off. Morgeth with shotguns is a fair bit easier than Morgeth with snipers, so that's good to go with. Riven with swords is easier now, but still relies on having good rolls to pull off, and I dunno if they've nerfed that I haven't ran LW in like six months. Insurrection Prime tends to take two phases even for groups of experienced players, don't expect your newbies that, at best, have Outbreak to be able to do it in one.
    5. Have them do the easier roles first time, and the more difficult roles later. For instance, doing the map in Scourge can be a bit difficult for someone that doesn't know where all the vandals spawn, where to look for for the servitors, or the map layout. "Go to the area near spawn" is a lot easier to understand. However, if you run with the same people, have them do the more difficult parts on their second or third clear, so they learn every role.
    6. Your goal is teaching, not speedrunning. This ties into #4 but really does need to be restated. Raids take a long time to do. Even a raid like Scourge, that I could literally run in my dreams, tends to take me an average of 25-30 minutes with pubs. It's going to take a lot longer with newbies, and you need to accept that. You also need to make it clear to a newbie that this is going to likely be a multi-hour time investment for them, especially for longer raids like Last Wish.

And these are the big tips I can think of for wannabe Sherpas, at least in the ten minutes I had to write this before work. If anyone else has other tips, feel free to post 'em.

The perk is essentially wasted on one fantastically designed helm. The overshield vanishes the second you come under fire and has no other features.

I would love to run it for aesthetics alone, but I can't bring myself to give up any sort of enhancement to either super effectiveness or improved neutral game.

Two REALLY fun Solo Prophecy Hunter builds you may not have thought of

    Posted: 27 Jul 2020 07:59 AM PDT

I've never posted a guide here before so hopefully the formatting is ok. A few weeks ago I had some... interestingly rolled Bombardiers drop: https://imgur.com/a/DZ3Pgnt

This gave me an idea for a Hunter build to Solo Flawless the Prophecy dungeon. I like to call it "Bombs Away"

    The Build

    • Bottom tree tether hunter
    • Bombardiers
    • Max mobility is a MUST, I also had max discipline but that's totally optional.
    • Gambler's dodge
    • Both Hive AND Taken Barrier mods were used
    • Triple grenade launchers (yes I know I am a crazy person)
      • Mountain Top
      • Truthteller w/ Blinding or Concussion nades
      • Anarchy

    How it works

The build revolves entirely around the bottom tether invis smoke and dodge. Hit the taken Knights with the Blinding/Concussion nades to stun them, quickly swap to MT then smoke yourself, run into the adds and dodge to get your melee back and watch them all go boom. Invis again to pick up motes before slamming on the plates. Ultimately, the name of the game here is playing safe and slow. The first boss encounter is IMO the hardest in the dungeon, once you get past that you're golden. The Bombardiers help immensely with add clear while you get to stay safely invisible and run away to cover. After a little trial and error I was able to Solo Flawless with this build in a couple tries. YouTube video of the run if interested (lots of profanity, be warned): https://youtu.be/6imj4dCSr_s

    Phalanx

This encounter is the hardest, safe and slow is the plan. Start the encounter and position yourself so that you can immediately hit one of the Knights with the truthteller/MT combo, smoke yourself and dodge near the pack of enemies and pick up the motes, rinse and repeat. ALWAYS make sure you are able to smoke yourself BEFORE picking up that last 3 motes you need to slam the plate. SAFETY is absolutely key otherwise you will get melted. Anarchy/MT/Oppressive Darkness for damage phases, then do it all again.

    Wasteland

More of the same, play safe and stick ONE Anarchy shot on each blight, smoke and dodge near enemies to make them go boom and refresh your melee.

    Cube encounter

I ended up swapping Anarchy for Xenophage here as it one shots the snipers. This one was a little harder because the adds seem to respawn at a higher rate and can get a little out of control if you're not careful. Highly recommend clearing most of the adds before killing your first sniper and spawning the Knights. The second build I have is actually MUCH better for this encounter but I'll get to that a little further down in the post.

    Final Boss

Approach this the same way as the first boss, although this is much easier to survive because there are way fewer adds. Damage phase is your typical Oppressive Darkness Anarchy/Top.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The second build I didn't end up doing Flawless with, mostly because I didn't have the patience to keep starting over and wanted to just get it done to prove I could, but I do think Flawless is possible with it.

    The Build

    • Blade Barrage (yes, you heard me)
    • Assassin's Cowl
    • Max mobility is a MUST again, the only other important stat (other than recov I suppose) would be strength
    • Gambler's dodge
    • Both Hive AND Taken barrier if you can manage it, concussive dampener is also great
    • Solar Plexus
    • Triple grenade launchers again, although for first boss I used Falling Guillotine

    How it works

This build is based on Blade Barrage's throwing knives and Assassin's Cowl. When you get a final blow with knives, you're granted health and invisibility. With BB's perk "Playing with Fire" stacked up to x3, you have almost constant invisibility and health regen. The ONE issue with this build is an issue with the game in general, if you're too close to an enemy you will lunge forward instead of throwing your knives. During this run 99% of the reason I died (I died a lot first encounter, only once at final boss due to this) was because we don't have separate buttons for melee and melee ability. You can watch the edited run here (profanity warning again): https://youtu.be/sXLBLD9bR7o

    Phalanx

Once again, easily the toughest part of the entire dungeon. This time I had an autoloading holster truthteller with blinding nades instead of the other one with concussion nades. Position yourself to instantly shoot a Knight with the blinding nade truthteller, quickly swap to MT and that leaves the Knight with JUST enough health to throw your knives and go invis to pick them up. You will almost never run out of adds to throw your knives at so use them liberally. ALWAYS throw your knives before picking up the last of the motes to slam on plates. This run was not at all smooth and I could definitely clean it up but I was starting to get frustrated after spending a couple hours dying to melee lunges when I should've thrown knives. I also used Falling Guillotine here instead of Anarchy because in theory you get way more damage out and can always fall back and throw knives at an add if you're low on health.

    Wasteland

Same as the last run, one Anarchy shot on each blight, throw knives as needed.

    Cube encounter

I found this build to be WAY more effective in this encounter than tether. Once the adds spawn you can take your time and build up Playing with Fire before killing snipers and spawning the Knights. Truthteller + MT + Knives wombo combo and you're big chillin through this one.

    Final Boss

I only died once on this phase and it was once again a melee issue. Otherwise, same as before. Truthteller + MT + Knives wombo combo again. Anarchy/MT on the boss until he's dead.

These builds were a lot of fun to theorycraft and put into practice, hope you enjoy! I'll be torturing myself in Prophecy trying other neat/unusual builds :)

So will the return of Vault of Glass mean the return of Super Good Advice (— "this weapon is full of it")

Since the weapon was created by a hunter who survived the first raid of VoG and made Super Good Advice to never be really alone, is it returning too? I mean, we don't know if the Hunter was in real risk or just paranoid, but it'd be cool if the gun returned to us as a little token of playful lore for those guardians that raid VOG and fear to suffer what this guardian did. Hell it could have a Divinity style quest that ends with the guardian getting Super Good Advice guaranteed finishing the end of VoG has a chance to drop Mythoclast. One is a quest exotic, the other is an RNG exotic.

Please let Nova Warp explode on death when it’s being charged already.

I don't understand why this isn't a feature already. Every time I was holding down a lane in comp, charging my NW to bait in a super, only to get shit on, with no explosion because I don't let go of the trigger fast enough (yes, controller). I'm at least trying to get a trade, but I always get killed before my animation of my warlock spread eagle-ing finishes. This super is pretty garbage, so most of the time I only get 1 kill, and die beforehand every other time. This change would up my K/D significantly.

    hey guys,

I recently got back into the game, and finally did my first raid with my clan the other day, to celebrate it I decided to draw a screenshot my mates sent me from the raid.

I'm gonna tweak it a little bit as I haven't draw in a while but I thought I would show it anyway :)
