As a Reckoner I am legally allowed to say "I reckon" when stating my opinion Posted: 20 Jul 2020 07:18 PM PDT I reckon that this is an undeniable fact and that all fellow Reckoners would agree with me [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Jul 2020 09:35 AM PDT This is probably one of the highest QoL improvements I've wanted for a long time. It's such a slog to have to take your other two characters through the story missions in order to unlock chunks of the destination / powerful activities, etc. I hope that in their analysis and overhaul of how leveling and progression works, they look at this in addition to other things being account wide as well. I think it's about time to revise Destiny's loot rarity scheme. Posted: 20 Jul 2020 12:28 PM PDT One of the most common complaints for as long as I can remember has been "what's the point of blues anymore" and the typical suggestion I see provided has just been to auto-dismantle blues. While this would probably be useful as a short-term solution, I feel like the fact that whites/greens/blues are all essentially useless to 98% of players and most people's vaults look something like this all indicates there's a bigger issue here when it comes to the loot rarity distribution. So we've reached a point where "legendary" loot is essentially the only useful loot in the game, for both weapons as well as armor. Originally, the concept of this loot color distribution referred to both the quality of the loot as well as its rarity, but at some point the latter became irrelevant. But what if Destiny leveraged the coloring scheme towards actually indicating the rarity of something alongside its quality? One idea I have is something like this: What we have currently in game as white/green/blue can just be combined into a single category of white loot, referring to the most common world drops with the lowest stats and least amount of perks. Now that we've freed up green and blue colored loot, we can expand what has traditionally been purple/legendary into a more granular system to indicate more information about the gear than what is possible on the current system. For instance, green (uncommon) loot can be the most common of our current legendaries like world and activity drops. Maybe blue (rare) loot, being one tier higher in rarity, can refer to gear dropped only in raids, dungeons, and other endgame activities. And we can reserve purple (legendary) for the most difficult to obtain non-exotic weapons, like pinnacle/ritual and time-limited event weapons. I feel like an overhaul akin to this would really benefit the loot experience for both new players and veterans. I know I've gotten tired of telling my friends who are new to Destiny "yeah you can just ignore anything that's not purple or yellow". Plus it would be so much easier to just distinguish loot at a glance. What do you guys think? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Jul 2020 09:58 AM PDT "Devotion inspires bravery. Bravery inspires sacrifice. Sacrifice... leads to death. So... feel free to kill yourself." "It would save us both a lot of time if you would just kill me." I mean. Come. On. What a badass. Imagine just saying casually to the leader of the red legion who just blew up half the city, "Lol kys". We didn't appreciate the Speaker enough. [link] [comments] |

Some Twitch Prime users can save 1250 Bright Dust tomorrow. Posted: 20 Jul 2020 08:33 AM PDT Tomorrow, the Tractor Cannon ornament MACHINIST'S TROVE will be on sale in the Eververse store for Bright Dust. It will become one of the free Twitch Prime items the day after. If you can hold off from buying it you can save yourself 1250 Bright Dust. 👍 [link] [comments] |

IMPORTANT INFO if you Pre-Ordered Beyond Light on PSN Posted: 20 Jul 2020 05:22 PM PDT So I just got an email asking if I'd like to keep my preorder and it stated that if I didn't respond by a certain time they would automatically refund my purchase. So look out for this email if you preordered otherwise you might run into some issues. The date it said the refund would be given was July 26th, might be different for others. [link] [comments] |
I solo flawless’d Prophecy and I’m just super pumped about it. Posted: 20 Jul 2020 03:45 AM PDT I made about every stupid play and dumb mistake in the book in my many failed attempts, but I finally had a clean run and I did it. Just wanted to put it out there. Thanks for listening. [link] [comments] |

Bungie must address their rampant discrimination Posted: 20 Jul 2020 04:23 PM PDT Discrimination against HAIR! Why is Amanda Holliday so useless? Why did Faction Rallies go away? What's a common characteristic among most of the NPCs in the game? What if I told you there was a COMMON THREAD among all these questions? What if there was systemic persecution in the Destiny world? What if Bungie. Hates. LONG HAIR?? Amanda Holliday has long hair--they try to make us forget her. One of the Factions leaders is Arach Jalaal, old emo boy...with rather long hair. Again, forgotten, unused, just stands there as a relic. Now, what about the NPCs that we do interact with a lot?
And so on, and so forth. Only a few sort of flirt with having some hair, like Ana Bray, Tyra Karn, and Eva Levante. And none of them are the vendors you go to every time you open up the game; it's almost like they're second class citizens! Heck, even the ordinary citizens wandering around the tower? Short hair, or with hats or hoods! But this goes even deeper my friends. Remember Halo? Do you remember a single case of long hair then? No! It's the helmeted chief, or Marines with military-length (short) hair, or aliens! Well, that's it. We have to hashtag cancel Bungie for this ghastly and deplorable hair-ism that they're flaunting in our faces! I will not rest until the pressure causes Bungie to grace us with a Lord Shaxx face reveal and out pours flowing locks like Fabio! [link] [comments] |
Fan Exotic Autorifle Concept Built around Triple Tap/FttC, Hinton's Heresy Posted: 20 Jul 2020 01:37 PM PDT So the post about Fourth Time's the Charm and Triple tap on the same gun got me and some clannies in Owl Sector talking, and that devolved into an exotic concept for an Auto Rifle built around those perks. I fully acknowledge that this would probably be a nightmare to program, but it sure sounds fun to me. Hinton-5's Heresy High Impact Archetype High stability, absolute minimum Reload speed. Mag Size, 5. Exotic Trait: Fifth Tesseract. Landing 5 crits in rapid succession returns 4 shots to the magazine. Perks: Chambered Compensator, Triple Tap, Fourth Times the Charm Exotic Magazine Perk: Non-Euclidean Magazine. Ammo returned to the magazine via perks overflows the magazine to a maximum size of 60. Hold Reload to unleash all rounds in the magazine as a single Non-Euclidean shot on the next trigger pull. Catalyst: + Stability, Kills with the Non Euclidean shot reloads the magazine. So, basically the idea is, landing crits and triggering the TT/FTTC/FT perks increases the ammo in the magazine. If I mathed right, it would increase the total in the magazine by 5 every 10 shots. So starting at 5 in the mag, land 10 crits, assuming perfect accuracy, and you now have 10 in the mag. It would take approximately 110 shots to reach the maximum magazine size, which you could then dump all at once as one big shot. Or you could dump sooner than that for less damage. Possible issues I can see, from a gameplay perspective:
I really like the idea behind this, personally. It could be really entertaining to see used well, and make for an interesting addition to the stable of exotics. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Jul 2020 10:27 AM PDT I posted last night about what I felt to be a design flaw with the quest step to cleanse the tokens, where if you died on the second mini-boss you couldn't get back to the orbs to re-dunk them. That is the only orb like that, the first and third tokens put you back at a checkpoint before the orbs if you die. I was of course frustrated and I can see how my post could have been misconstrued as simply whining about "difficulty". That was not the case, but the general discouragement I received was a wake up call for me and this community. I fed off that negativity, logged back into Stadia and went back to The Shattered Throne. After a few more hours, I collected my prize and feel all the more accomplished that I did it on my own. Posted: 20 Jul 2020 06:19 AM PDT In Destiny 1 you could sometimes have Taken versions of a boss instead of their normal version, like with that Archon Priest and the Nexus Mind. What if in D2, we went even further and had Strikes that were direct follow ups of current strikes? I got this idea after sufferin- I mean playing thru the Exodus Down strike. At the end you can get various dialogues from Cayde or Zavala. In Zavala's case, he believes you're in danger and is launching Operation Oboe to rescue you from the Fallen. (Yes I know it's a joke) If you get Cayde's dialogue, he mentions he's sending in a crew behind you to secure the crash site. What if these were alternative playable versions of the strike? Instead of creating an all new strike, we use existing assets and a few newer ones to give a fresh experience. If you get Zavala's version, maybe you load in near where he lost comms with you, wipe out the remaining Fallen, defend your ghost as it attempts to make contact with the "lost" team, and make your way to the crash site, but instead of climbing up the wreckage, your ghost finds a hidden path beneath it, and you come across the original strike bosses' second in command and you take them out. If you got Cayde's version, maybe you load into the original boss room and back track thru the crash site, you secure the area by defeating a certain number of Fallen, and once you make it back toward the Exodus Black, Failsafe contacts you and Cayde to let you know that the Vex were alerted by the original strike teams operation and were moving in to seize the crash site, so you fight your way back thru Vex opposition and fight a Vex boss to secure the crash site as Vanguard territory. Now if we also reintroduce strike specific loot, we now have 3 strikes, with 3 different bosses, 3 different rewards, and we've reused mostly assets from an existing strike. A balance of new content mixed with efficient use of Dev time. [link] [comments] |
[Spoilers] What if Festival of the Lost reintroduces Uldren Sov ahead of Beyond Light Posted: 20 Jul 2020 05:32 AM PDT It's a cool concept if Bungie were to go down this route. There are different visions of play that can happen around Destiny 2 with the follow-up to the cutscene when we saw Uldren Sov x Ghost. A lot of players expect to see Uldren Sov back on the screen at the same time with Mara Sov but Festival of the Lost would be a great incentive to bring back Uldren in some capacity, even if a new cutscene. Even as an acknowledgment ahead of Beyond Light will create an increased excitement within players while also increasing the movement behind "Festival of the Lost". [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Jul 2020 07:50 PM PDT Tonight I did my first raid, scourge of the past. I've been a solo player since D1 and always kinda thought raids were not an option for me. Tonight I responded to a lfg post and ended up with a really good team. Long story short we played once all the way through and again loading up the boss checkpoint and I got anarchy on my second raid ever! Moral of the story is if you're a solo player dont be afraid to try the raids! Theres people out there who'll help you through it. Edit: We ended up farming the boss two more times and...... I now have two anarchys. I feel I should apologise on behalf of RNG to anyone that has played a lot and does not have it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Jul 2020 10:37 AM PDT The ahamkara skull that shaxx has is influencing him and knowing the power even just the bones have? Why are guardians allowed to wear them? [link] [comments] |
Could we get a universal helmet ornament that effectively disables our helmet? Posted: 20 Jul 2020 01:38 PM PDT I think it would be great from a personal style standpoint and you can't tell me that we wear helmets in combat or in airless environments while I stand next to Eris on the moon. Posted: 20 Jul 2020 03:27 PM PDT Considering we also know the Beyond Light power cap and the Shadowkeep launch leveling numbers, we can surmise that since: Shadowkeep:
THEN Beyond Light:
And so, if CONTEST MODE continues to remain a thing and you're interested in the Day 1 Raid Race - then your goal is to reach 1220 with your gear (which should be fairly easy). Hope this helps anyone curious. [link] [comments] |

I think it's safe to assume Cayde-6 was the greatest vender, hands down. Posted: 20 Jul 2020 07:44 PM PDT I was replaying the "Chosen" mission when I came to the part where Zavala, Ikora, and Cayde were saying their goodbyes. Zavala said he was proud to be apart of their fireteam. Ikora said basically the same as Zavala, but Cayde continues to be sarcastic and smart. He said, "We're about to die and your giving one of your speeches?" Later in Forsaken, Cayde is being held at gunpoint and he says, "Any second now, my partner's gonna roll in here and kill every... last... one of you." Then Uldren proceeds to say, "Any last words?" "How's your sister." The point is, Bungie killed off the best character in the game and in a way that was a brilliant idea. It made players really miss him and that leaves a special place in our hearts. Bringing back Cayde wouldn't make him as special to us. Rest In Peace Cayde-6 [link] [comments] |
