Bungie, vortex grenades should pull enemies inward toward the center, not push them out.

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 10:25 AM PDT

I've been playing my warlock and hunter for the solstice grind and these grenades stand out as not as good as they could be. When you hit an enemy with the grenade it usually pushes them outside of the effective part of the grenade thus dealing minimal damage. If they pulled things inward on hit they'd live up to their name and be functional.

I opened 1,000 Solstice Packages, and here's the drop rate.

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 04:12 AM PDT

Hello! Welcome to the most definitive post about the drop rate of items from the Solstice Event Packages.

I farmed 1,000 Solstice Packages from the EAZ and acquired enough key fragments to open them all, this took a pretty heavy toll on my sanity so I really hope the information we now have was worth it.

The following list is the total amount of items that dropped from the packages.

    • Blue Gear --------------------------- 915
    • Legendary Gear ----------------- 210
    • Solstice Armor ------------------- 324
    • Umbral Engrams ---------------- 163
    • Enhancement Cores ----------- 288
    • Enhancement Prisms --------- 6
    • Upgrade Modules --------------- 23
    • Legendary Shards --------------- 258
    • Planetary Materials ------------ 2,275

You also get Glimmer from each and every package, so I figured it's unnecessary to keep track of that.

I have also logged what I got from every single package so if anyone wants that info I will link the Excel spreadsheet. Thanks to my good friend Dan for helping me with the spreadsheet.

Some extra info; the lowest rolled Solstice Armor piece I got was 53(!) and the highest rolled was 68. I really think they should increase the lowest possible roll as 53 is just abysmal in my opinion.

https://imgur.com/a/oulk4gH - Proof that I have acquired all the packages and keys.

That's all folks, I think I'm going to bed now.

Edit: Fixed wrong value of Legendary Shards.

I'm a relatively anxious guy that started making helpful guides on different weapons and exotics, what rolls to get as well as where to get them.

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 09:18 AM PDT

Hello fellow, guardians. My name's TCSpectre and I've been playing Destiny all the way back since House of Wolves. I suffer from general and social anxiety, which means I kind of tell myself that no one really cares about what I think because I'm not good at anything, or that I'm always wrong.

As a part of improving my self-image I decided to start making guides for this game we all "love", Destiny. This is because I frequently meet people in-game and in the community who are unsure about what to get outside of the few "you must have this gun" guns. And honestly the amount of toxicity some people receive for asking about help makes me feel like there's work to be done within our game. These guides are meant for all of you guardians. I hope you enjoy them. And of course, you're more than welcome to DM me any questions you have about rolls, or even in-game! My Reddit name is the same as my steam one.

If this is the wrong place to post this, I'm sorry. And if not, then why not take a look and see if it's anything that might interest you?

I think it would be cool if each title had a corresponding universal ornament set to go with it

Riven's bane - riven themed armor Cursebreaker - taken themed armor Harbinger - scarlett keep themed armor Shadow - ghalarn themed armor

Bungie, I’m loving the mini wars on Titan and Io

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 03:40 PM PDT

Love it when it gets crazy and those roaming bosses also join in, it is pure brutal mayhem. It feels like it's building up , it needs the Giant Taken boss to finally spawn in the end like D1, unless of course it can and I haven't figured it out yet

140 handcannons really need to one shot crit red bars in trash mobs.

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 11:49 PM PDT

There's basically no reason to use them right now in PvE. I really think this would improve guns like the nation of beasts and remove the dependency of having to have a damage perk to want to use it.

I feel like champions don't belong in raids

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 05:04 PM PDT

They definitely make other content more intense, even though they can limit your loadout/playstyle.

However, raids IMO should be designed in such a way where the difficulty, enjoyment and encounters are not dependent on champions.

At that point they just feel like easily made repetitive hurdles instead of quality end game encounters.

I'm hoping Bungie isn't just going to slap a few champions on VoG and call it a day.

    Hi, guys.
Hope you are doing well this crazy year. Happiness, health, love to everyone!

I want to share a cover version of the well known musical composition Journey with you.
My friends recorded the music, and I shot and edited this video.

Some parts of this video was filmed in Siberia in a destroyed factory of special technological equipment.
Hope you will like it! :)

Big thank to our Russian community Guardian.fm for support!

    I recommend watching with headphones!

At Beyond Light or Sooner Can We Get Some Grenade Tweaking?

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 05:42 PM PDT

A lot of the subclasses feel like only one grenade is good for that subclass. I feel like this has gotta change and either some grenade reworks need to be done or some tweaking to current ones to make it feel like each grenade has a use. If you ask me, the best standpoint to go off of is a grenade that's good for smaller ad clear, a grenade that's good for single target burst damage and a grenade that's good for overall PvP.

Yeah it's hard to balance stuff out like this but I've seen heaps of people agree that one grenade is the best and most usable when that should not be the case.

You might want to start to prepare for Festival of the Lost

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 07:56 PM PDT

It might be a good idea to save up bright dust to but ornaments, shaders, ghost shells, sparrows, ships, etc

Armor ornament sets, like any special event, are usually 6000 per character which means 18,000 for all three

Ghost shells and vehicles tend to be pricey too

Eternal warrior exotic should give an overshield to thundercrash too!

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 07:03 AM PDT

Thundercrush doesn't have a supporting exotic, an overshield would be nice in PvE and PvP.

Anyone think it’s dumb that you can’t get armour from collections because of random rolls but you can get exotics

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 03:13 AM PDT

I don't understand this. Exotic armour has random rolls except the perks. I need certain armour i dismantled before I knew I needed it because it had shitty rolls, then found out I need it for izis. Like there's plenty of armour you can get from collections. The stat rolls are random obvs and the element but it's the same from exotics so you should be able to get both from it? Just a query/suggestion

A Thousand Tripping Knives: Solar hunter build for near infinite ability and quick supers.

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 08:12 AM PDT

    Introduction

Eyes up, Guardians! Cause I'm dropping a singing hot hunter build on ya.
Want to throw all the knives? Like turning people into hot, exploding unicorns? Do you feel that fiery passion within to just burn. them. all? Well strap on your baby dragon bones and join me for an adventure in fire!

    Goals

    • ~100% uptime on melee, grenade and dodge, while having relatively low discipline and strength
    • ~1/2 minute supers, depending on how many enemies you got to kill/dodge near.
    • Never have to reload your primary
    • Generate warmind cells with both weapons and abilities.
    • Get some form of healing/sustain or high recovery
    • Have fun

    Main Build

For the build to work baseline we are going to be using the following equipment and abilities:

    • Way of a thousand cuts, trip-mine grenade, gambler's dodge.
    • Young Ahamkara's Spine exotic with (enhanced) impact induction mod - hence the trip-mine grenades.
    • IKELOS_SMG_V1.0.2 with Grave Robber and Demolitionist (farm from umbrals)
    • Max mobility via: Mobility mods, Traction (+5 visible bonus, +10 hidden bonus to mobility) and optionally the Powerful Friends mod. Rest focussed on recovery.
    • Class mods: Distribution and (Enhanced) Ashes to Assets
    • Warmind mods: Wrath of Rasputin and Fireteam medic for both detonating and using them to heal you.

    Optional Parts

The following additions are optional, and aren't vital to reaching the goals.

    • Charged with Light mods: Taking Charge and Protective Light - Keeps you alive in sticky situations, letting you pop that healing Warmind cell to recover. Or Reactive Pulse for AOE arc damage. Or Lucent Blade for extra (boss) DPS with your sword.
    • Seasonal mods: Solar Plexus instead of Ashes to Assets; Inferno Whip, to stagger bosses and stun champions; Breach Resonator + Anti-Barrier rounds for more regen for weapon kills.
    • Hahaha Falling Guillotine go brrrrrrt.

    Playstyle

You can probably see it already from how it's coming together, and the exotic of choice has no doubt tipped you off as well. This one is all about the abilities. You loop them: Trip-mine, knives, dodge, trip-mine, knives, dodge etc.

Your trip-mine fuels your super, your knives fuel both your trip-mine and your dodge, which in turn fuels everything and resets your knives. Each trip-mine can generate a warmind cell, which heals you and destroys your enemies. Knives and Grenade both reload your weapon, which in turn fuels those abilities on kills thanks to breach resonator. Your knives can stun-lock bosses with Inferno Whip as each knife puts a stagger on them. You take care of 2 champion types, with the third being no match for your big sword friend: Falling Guillotine.

(see this same post with attached video of an example of how the build plays)

    Some Blacksmith stats

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 12:56 PM PDT

For any fellow aspiring Blacksmiths, this might be interesting. Or it might not, I don't know.

Since the season delay was announced, I decided I would use the extra time this season to finish up the Blacksmith title. I had read some horror stories about the low low drop rate for the refurbished black armory shader - so I decided to start recording my forge completion results as I finished up the "master smith" title, in case it took way longer than expected.

I only started recording my runs at ~32 frames completed, so this doesn't cover the whole 100 for the master smith triumph.

I ran a total of 74 forges between Aug 2 and Aug 21: 15 at Volundr, 24 at Gofannon, 20 at Izanami, and 15 at Bergusia.

I forged 39 black armory weapons in that time. The other 30(ish) frames were various research frames. I don't know the exact count because I sometimes double or tripled up with research frames, but only recorded the results of the BA weapon outcome.

From those frames I got exactly 2 curated drops, 2 house of meryn, and 2 rasmussen clan drops. This was basically a 5% drop chance for any of these items, from my small sample. Full disclaimer here: I had actually already looted all 3 legendary shaders before I started doing this, so I don't know if that skewed my results. I also was able to confirm that the shaders are tied to the forges and not the frames (I had been told this before, but it was cool to get confirmation on my own).

Of my 74 runs, experimental weapons dropped roughly 30% of the time (23 drops total), only 1 of which actually dismantled into the refurbished black armory shader

EDIT - A couple other things I want to point out. This also doesn't count all the other forge completions I've done since season 5. Also, I had exactly 0 other experimental weapons in my inventory or vault, which means I've dismantled every one I had ever gotten - and still didn't have it. ALSO, doing these forges this season - apparently - was the first time I ever got a single dead man walking, so that was neat.

    My curse has been broken.

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 12:38 PM PDT

Many of you probably don't remember me, but a few of you found my post discussing my curse of never getting the Sweet Business catalyst. I am glad to tell you all that the curse has been broken.

I followed the advice of others and completed almost all of my primary weapon catalysts, and then I got the rat king catalyst. Yep, the way rarer catalyst dropped first, I was really under a curse. But I was determined. I got that catalyst done, I finished the witherhoard catalyst, and a few other energy weapon catalysts like trinity ghoul. But to no avail, the Sweet Business catalyst would not drop.

August 23, 2020. I have nearly given up on the idea of my Sweet Business catalyst. Perhaps The Architects didn't view a warlock worthy of such tremendous power. But I was determined, determined enough to fight the gods.

    447 Strikes succeeded

    59 Nightfalls conquered

16,000 enemies of the darkness destroyed by Sweet Business.

3,294 guardians decimated by Sweet Business.

    10 other catalysts completed.

It was August 23rd, 2020, when I stepped into the Shattered Throne alone and emerged victorious. It seems like an irrelevant detail, but this was the day a curse was broken. I entered some strikes to get my weekly pinnacle, and it finally dropped. It's over...it's finally over.

The three different Interference encounters (Ritual,Relic,Crystal) are all throwbacks to the Destiny 1 strike, "The Sunless Cell"

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 04:50 AM PDT

The Asylum & Interference - Ritual Encounter

The capturing of 2 plates in Interference (Ritual week) on the left and right side of the room are the same premise as capturing the plates from the D1 strike

Thrallway / Thrall Bridge & Interference - Relic Encounter

The Thrallway from Sunless Cell in D1 was probably everyones favorite part of the strike, especially if you had a weapon with Firefly. Other notable Thrallway's throughout Destiny include: Crota's End (D1), Shattered Throne, In the Deep (Moon story mission but bounties don't count midway through)

    The Circle / Alak-Hul & Interference - Crystal Encounter

Although there's other instances of a Hive Knight teleporting away only to re-emerge and gank you (Any Ascendent Challenge involving the Hive Knights that chase you for example), it's coincidental that major aspects of the Sunless Cell strike are all featured as part of the Interference mission(s).

Can't wait for GM Ordeal Fallen S.A.B.E.R. to have Blackout, Grounded, Increased Arc Damage received. Bonus points if trying to cheese the Warsat encounter make you fail Platinum rank

Me and others are still missing their week 1 Solstice bright dust despite receiving the message and having completed the bounties

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 11:40 AM PDT

I tried posting on the Bungie forum and BungieHelp on Twitter but no response. :/

I only know I'm missing the dust because I was obsessively checking the balance right before reset up until I had received the message.

Edit: thanks for the upvotes. I'm happy we can finally get some visibility on this issue.
