We do the right thing, 'cause the right thing needs doin'. So, when another does harm—casts their shadow upon you or your kin—you go 'head and hunt for the justice needed to answer any sins inflicted.

Don't hunt 'em 'cause you been wronged.

Hunt 'em 'cause what they did was wrong.

There's a world of difference there, kid.

Bungie, synchronizing strikes weekly bounties rewards with the Ordeal was like the best. decision. ever.

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 07:31 AM PDT

Seriously, as a person who generally hates mind-numbing thing that is doing weekly strikes bounties I was super happy that not only did we get double rewards in Ordeal but that the Ordeal was also synchronized with weekly bounties, i.e. they progressed naturally (taken enemies and boss in Lake of Shadows).

Please do this more, this feels super rewarding!

For the 100th time, stop giving crack to the Taken Captains

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 04:03 AM PDT

Jokes aside, it's frustrating as all hell that these asshats can blink around like some wannabe Stormcaller, ad infinitum, but I have to wait eons so I can re-stun an Overload or Unstoppable champion. I get the teleport ability is supposed to make them "challenging", but when they backpedal and clear half the map in less than a second, it crosses over into bullshit territory. There's no challenge in it as the moment you pounce on them, they've already fucked off to somewhere else. Nothing is more infuriating than almost putting one of them down, only for them to zip zoom behind cover, 400 meters away, and laugh as they charge back up and toss waves of darkness bolts at you.

Please, Bungie. Just add a cooldown or modify it already. I don't mind the mechanic, I mind it when it goes out of control and turns the enemy into a mere afterimage.

Oh, and stop letting them toss darkness bolts at invis allies. Thanks.

Can we all take a moment to appreciate Lance Reddick? (Zavala voice actor)

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 09:43 PM PDT

He's a major Hollywood actor thats actually passionate about the game and has stuck with it all this time. He even plays it and mains a Warlock (ironic, yes). He seems to always lend new voice lines for most seasons, when the other actors don't. He's always posting about Destiny on Twitter and fully embraces the "Whether we wanted it or not..." meme. Sure, Zavala might not be the fan favorite, but Lance totally owns the role. I feel like he doesn't get enough credit, to be honest.

Also, everyone should listen to the Fireteam chat episode that had him on. He's a genuine dude that loves the game.

It looks like Bungie is positioning their world to hit some of their original story ideas, and I'm excited for it.

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 01:00 PM PDT

Uldren revived as a Guardian means his slate was wiped clean. Outside our animosity his character can have a complete reset, and it looks like he'll be in the Cosmodrome.

Rasputin is once again damaged and marooned on Earth, thanks to our best efforts to save him. And with a special body

Mara Sov is back from the dead and the Exo Stranger is returning, so they can be key players again

Between the Drifter and the Darkness's communications, we're getting much more of "is the Traveler really 100% the good guy? Prolly not"

It might have taken 6 years of course correction and dealing with retcons to get some soft resets, but I'm excited to see where they go with them.

10 Things a bad PVE player learned in Ordeal this week

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 08:46 AM PDT

I am a bad-to-average PVE player with ok gear. In my burning thirst for golf balls this double loot wek, I farmed match made 1020 Nightfalls all week and moved up to 1080s through LFG

For those who were as scared as me - here are 10 things I learned to be a helpful ally as the worst player on a Master Nightfall fireteam:

    1. Watch the initial sparrow race to the entrance. You'll know immediately who the good player(s) are - and often whose lead to follow

    2. For some reason, many players love ad clear more than "threat clear" - if you focus on killing snipers, goblins that make majors invincible and other annoying threats, you will help the team

    3. Learn the "map" and encounters very well in easier light levels (i.e. 1020) to see where majors spawn, where the pain points are, where good cover is and where to super. Knowing what happens next makes 1080s far easier

    4. Play 1020s like every enemy will one shot you. This eliminates bad habits that will get you killed in higher level Nightfalls

    5. If you're the "bad" player - don't play aggressive. Play support

    6. Defense wins championships. You can avoid wipes by playing close-ish but safely behind or peeking cover vs. teammates. I can't tell you how many times two teammates got killed by the same enemy and we didn't wipe because I was near cover and hid like a baby until respawn

    7. Running out to revive an ally that just got one-shot often will get you killed in the same place by the same enemy

    8. Breaking shields is a noble job. If your allies are better players - popping shields takes less aim and is a great help. Disruption break is awesome if you have it

    9. Being a little hurt is basically one foot in the grave. Use a subclass that allows you to heal, and recover before pushing ahead. Dying causes a chain reaction of shit for everyone. Don't die

    10. Get Izanagi and a catalyst if you can. Do it now

EDIT: Sweet Baby James! I never thought 6 minutes on the loo in the morning would be so productive. I really do appreciate the comments and unexpected awards.

(Fan Art) Vex drawing, "Temporal Swarm", inked and vector

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 02:33 PM PDT

    https://i.imgur.com/V82PQZh.jpg

Started the sketch for this back in 2017 but didn't finish it because i wasn't patient with my work lol.

Went back and finished drawing and then eventually coloring this after going through some old sketchbooks and finding it still unfinished, as well as getting started on D2 a few months ago.

The Vex have been my favorite faction since D1 and still are in D2, everything about them intrigues me, from their design to their lore, but especially their environments. I could spend hours reading through collections of artwork of Vex scenery; no way I could replicate it, though, which is why I went with the BG I settled on in this artwork! :P

All of my art is first drawn in pen and ink, and then colored over with vector via Adobe Illustrator CS6. I may eventually do another work like this featuring my next favorite species, the Hive...

Crossplay between PC and console wouldn't be so bad if it were PvE-only activities.

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 05:43 PM PDT

I understand why PvP is out of the question, but PvE would be pretty balanced.

Please for the love of The Traveller buff scouts.

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 04:59 PM PDT

This is something Bungie needs to do, almost every scout is useless and worse than pulses. This is something that is long overdue.

Why is the Fanatic the only one of the Barons with a strike?

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 02:41 PM PDT

This has baffled me since Forsaken came out. They put the resources towards developing eight unique and characterized bosses, whose undead nature means having them come back would be easy to justify, and they only do it for one of them.

The game could definitely use more strikes for the sake of variety, and I don't think it'd be that hard to put together strikes for the Barons. The Machinist's mission already basically feels like a strike, and there's parts of the Dreaming City that you could probably run a strike through pretty easily.

Bungie, if you want us to buy silver for Eververse..

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 05:51 PM PDT

...leave everything in the shop, all the time. So we can just pick and choose what we want to but when we want to. I think the weekly rotations are only nice for showcasing. I want the ornament for the Gemini Jesters dammit.

Should I start the grind for Izanagi?

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 12:08 PM PDT

Sorry if this has already been covered, I tried to search but I wasn't sure.

It's unclear to me if Izanagi is getting sunset or nerfed upon launch of Beyond the Light. I'm a returning player and just got 1040 so I understand its required often for higher content in LFG. I know a ton of the content surrounding the quest line is getting sunset so should I focus all of my grind on that quest for now?

I haven't played this game in nearly 3 years, and there's one thing I missed most of all.

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 02:52 PM PDT

The loading screens. Gives me time to make a sandwich, take a dump, and mix a drink. Usually in that order, but not always. It can be frustrating to try to pick it up and play for 15-20 minutes at a time.

Seriously though, the gear customization in this game is nuts. I'm so lost. Now I know what those D1 kinderguardians felt like after Rise of Iron. I feel like the learning curve is exponential.

That being said, does anyone else play for the fun of just shooting stuff? Not caring if you have the best gear (or even properly configured), not grabbing every bounty, going to whatever world you like best... Or is everyone all still "LFG must be lvl 1300, have the 7th Column shader, solo Atheon with a dance pad, and have a 25:1 minimum kd"?

Oh, and something, something... happy birthday, NF.

The Leviathan should become an explorable location with one of the fall expansions after Lightfall

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 10:49 PM PDT

I don't think that Lightfall is the end of Destiny 2. I feel like a lot of people just started speculating that because it was the last of the three expansions they showed. And because it has the world fall in it lol.

Shadowkeep was the gap year. Now we're getting into the true next chapter of Destiny 2. I think Bungie will easily take out another three to four fall expansions after Lightfall. And I really hope that one of them is centered around Calus and the Leviathan.

Let's rewind to Taken King and the Dreadnought. The Dreadnought is still EASILY a top three destinations in Destiny history. I believe because of two big reasons: the atmosphere and being forced to walk through the whole thing. I really really like the idea that we couldn't just summon a sparrow. You were forced to explore and get lost (in a good way) as you found all the secrets hidden around. It really felt like such a huge location. And the atmosphere of it. You were in this scary ass WARSHIP walking through the halls of the father of someone you killed.

I want a similar thing to be pulled off with the Leviathan. The Leviathan is meant to be three times the size of a planet. Now I'm not saying that Bungie has to make this gigantic location, but I'm saying there's so much of the Leviathan we still haven't seen. We've literally only scratched the top of the surface (and a bit of the underbelly). And I think the atmosphere would also be great. Calus' whole viewpoint is that we have to embrace that we're going to die and just party and have fun. So we would literally be exploring and fighting our way through this party ship. Think about all the possible locations we could see. The dinner halls, the bed chambers, perhaps the room dedicated to the war beasts. There's so much we could see and get lost in.

Can Dreaming Spectrum shader drop from the free chests on Last Wish or is it only from the encounters?

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 10:16 PM PDT

I also read that it drops from curated weapons. Can the free chests also drop curated weapons?

Double Nightfall loot this week lit up my clan roster and my friends list in Destiny! Please don't let this be a one-and-done event Bungie!

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 11:22 PM PDT

Making this like a once per month this would be great!

Also, can we get an economy update on what might be changing next season? In terms of infusion/dismantling etc? Will it still cost 3 golf balls to MW 1 exotic?
