Posted: 08 Sep 2020 02:07 PM PDT There was a nice QoL change in 2.9.2 update today. All your armor now shows its seasonal icon, regardless of the ornament you might have on it. This makes it MUCH easier to quickly see in your inventory what pieces can take what mods. EDIT - I just noticed that the API, it seems, has not been updated with this change. Looking at my armor in DIM or Ishtar, they still show like they did previously. Not sure if this is a change that the App devs need to update to work with, or if the API handles all that and it needs to be updated to match the game. [link] [comments] |
If you are teaching someone a Raid, please don't be a massive d*ck about it. Posted: 08 Sep 2020 06:19 AM PDT I would like to talk about my horrible experiences I've had with learning Last Wish and GoS. Now, first off, I'm a 1032 Warlock, I know my power sucks but that's kinda why I wanted to learn those raids so I start doing them weekly for gear, this is wear my problems start. Let's start with Last Wish, I've tried about 3 times Learning this raid, none of which have gone well. First time, dude was like a drill sergeant, didn't really explain what was going on, just barked his orders around which made me feel SUPER uncomfortable, not to mention his knowledge wasn't the best and if anyone messed up he'd make sarcastic comments, ended up leaving at Suro Chi, couldn't quite take it anymore. Second and third time, where pretty much the same, dude wasn't very kind, lost his temper quickly when we would do something wrong, both left at Kali Moving onto GoS, this was last night, it's my first and only time I've tried it. I was with my twin brother for this one, since he wanted to learn to, found someone willing to teach and we went ahead, this was a mistake, there was four of them when we joined and the guy hadn't told his buddy's he was teaching a couple of people (for the record, the fact he brought his mates didn't bother us, it's what came after). His three friends began laughing when we asked what to do, we pretty much got ganged up on, so didn't really even do the first encounter because we left. Pretty much if your going to teach a raid, there's ZERO need to be an ass about the whole thing, I understand it can be a bit difficult sometimes, especially when you wipe 12 times on dogs, but it's all about keeping your cool and helping out. Being toxic helps no one, all your going to do is scare people off playing those raids, which can be really fun with the right group of people. In short, if your willing to teach a raid, please be WILLING, if you get annoyed easily and aren't patient, please don't teach raids because in reality you aren't helping anyone. Also, I ain't looking for anyone to teach me I just wanted to share my story's and opinions on the subject. EDIT: You are all too kind. EDIT 2: I'm on Xbox lads EDIT 3: Thank you for the gold lads EDIT 4: I'm speechless, thank you so much for the platinum. [link] [comments] |

Here is how Traveler's Chosen's Gathering Light perk works Posted: 08 Sep 2020 12:35 PM PDT So I just got the gun and it seems like it has a very strong perk. As the gun states, when you get a kill you get a gathering light stack. This stack goes up to maximum of 10, and you can hold reload to consume these stacks, to gain grenade, melee and class ability energy. I tested 5 kind of stacks and their gains: 1 stack - 10% gain 2 stacks - 20% gain 5 stacks - 50% gain 8 stacks - 80% gain 10 stacks - 100% - full regeneration I think its safe to assume that each stack nets you 10% regen for your abilities. Now, it has another perk that improves the gun's reload, target acqusition and handling with each holded stack, but I could not test how each stack changes that but from my own perspective, full 10 stacks makes the gun reload super fast and makes it very accurate. Oh and a final note, the stacks don't go away when you holster the weapon and it has a white solstice glow on it... Which improves with each stack. Pretty neat tbh. [link] [comments] |
Exodus Evacuation quest is out Posted: 08 Sep 2020 10:06 AM PDT The triumph for completing the quest is now visible, so there is a 90% chance the quest is out now. Will update once I load in EDIT: The quest is out! There is a notice about it when you enter the game EDIT 2: Quest reward is as expected! [link] [comments] |
[Spoiler] The Lore Tabs associated with FotL Items Are Adorable Posted: 08 Sep 2020 01:06 PM PDT All of these items are fully visible in the API today. The links will take you to their Lore Tabs on Ishtar Collective. I love the ship lore the most! Edit: Upon looking at Today in Destiny, it seems like these items come from Gameplay and not Eververse as they are not currently on the list to be sold for Brightdust or Silver and are marked as coming from the event and not Eververse in the API (many other new items are marked as Eververse). Travelers Chosen quest is a better New Light experience Posted: 08 Sep 2020 08:18 PM PDT The Travelers Chosen quest, imo, is actually a better introduction to Destiny than the New Light experience. It gives them some of the best year 1 weapons including a strong shotgun, and a pretty decent exotic on top of that. Not only that, it introduces them to strikes, adventures and public events all at once without having to do a massive page of bounties. If this is what new players get to do instead of the bounty page, I think it would be a lot more welcoming. [link] [comments] |
Warlock Solstice Armor Is Still Underwhelming (Comparison Images) Posted: 08 Sep 2020 03:58 PM PDT The images are : Ornament warlock vs earnable titan Advertised Warlock Glow Increased Warlock Glow Did it this way to show as many variations in as few pics as possible. Stasis Spotlight: Hunter Revenant Posted: 08 Sep 2020 07:01 AM PDT Source: https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/49484 Welcome to this edition in our series of Stasis spotlight articles where we're examining Stasis via each of the three Guardian classes in Destiny 2. Earlier in the series, we featured the Warlock Shadebinder and the Titan Behemoth. In this final article of the series, we're focusing on the Hunter Revenant. Finding the FantasyOne of the most important parts of developing Stasis and its accompanying Guardian subclasses has been in defining each of their fantasies. The team has spent a great deal of time iterating each subclass, starting with the fantasy that instantly summarizes the experience. In some cases, that comes with ease. For example, the fantasy shorthand for the Warlock Shadebinder was established early on as "ice wizard." From that simple phrase, anyone could instantly conjure the image in their mind of what it would be like to play as a Stasis-powered Warlock in Beyond Light, summoning your Stasis staff and unleashing dark energy to freeze opponents. Other times the fantasy evolves over the course of many discussions, iterations, and playtests. That was the case with the Hunter Revenant subclass which went through many iterations before we aligned on the "ninja" archetype. The result is an amazing Stasis experience that we can't wait for Hunter fans to try for themselves. Early on we knew that the Hunter would embody the idea of slowing the battle around them with their Stasis powers. That starts with Withering Blade, the Hunter Revenant's melee attack. The player throws a deadly Stasis shuriken into the fight; it ricochets off surfaces and enemies, slowing and damaging them along the way. Land two shuriken on the same target and that enemy will be instantly frozen. When fully charged with ability energy, the Hunter Revenant can unleash their deadly Super – Silence and Squall. Named after the pair of Kama blades that the Hunter summons, this Super involves a two-pronged attack, with each Kama blade having a different function. The first blade, when thrown, immediately detonates on impact, freezing enemies in a radius from the center of the blast. Hurl Squall, the second blade, and it will embed itself in a surface (or an enemy) and then detonate, creating a Stasis storm that will track nearby enemies, slowing and damaging them as it makes contact. As is the case with the Warlock Shadebinder and the Titan Behemoth, players using the Hunter Revenant will also be able to customize their Stasis powers over time using Aspect and Fragment slots (check out our Warlock Shadebinder article, for more detail on how Aspects and Fragments will work), including, for example, a Hunter-specific Slow Dodge Aspect that will allow the Revenant to temporarily slow nearby enemies each time they perform a dodge. Things That Go BoomApart from the intrinsic Stasis abilities that will be a part of each subclass, all Guardian classes using Stasis will have their choice of a variety of Stasis grenades to use in combat: Glacier Grenade – Upon contact with the ground, a wall of Stasis crystals instantly burst from the earth and nearby enemies are frozen inside Stasis crystal. These grenades have multiple uses – from encasing enemies to creating cover. When destroyed the crystals will create AoE burst damage to nearby enemies. Coldsnap Grenade – Upon impact with the ground or an enemy, this grenade unleashes a wave of Stasis energy that races along the ground in the direction of the closest nearby enemy, freezing them and then searching out the next nearby foe. You can freeze up to three enemies with a single Coldsnap Grenade. Duskfield Grenade – Duskfield Grenades create powerful Stasis fields that suck enemies into them when forming. Once an enemy is caught inside, they will be slowed and, if unable to make it out in time, frozen in place. All three of these grenade abilities show the potential of Stasis to change the way you fight in Beyond Light. Slowing and freezing enemies have obvious advantages, and we've put a lot of effort into thinking about how Stasis affects combat in both PvE and PvP situations, including things like how often you can freeze a foe and how long those freeze durations last. The ability to create new geometry with Stasis is also an exciting new addition. With a well-timed Glacier Grenade, you can now create Stasis crystal formations that can perform double duty as platforms. Players are going to use this new power – be it in the form of a grenade or a Super – to gain easier access to tough-to-reach areas, create new lines of sight, and even do things that we could never predict. Wielding Stasis is going to be an unprecedented change to Destiny2 . This is a new take on elemental power, where the path to victory is found through controlling the enemy and the pace of the fight instead of through brute force and damage. With Aspects and Fragments, we're also giving players a new level of control over how they customize their Stasis experience. For more on Stasis, check out our [Stasis hub page](http://) here on Bungie.net. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Sep 2020 08:01 AM PDT I know we probably won't get any major changes until they incorporate the Aspects and Fragments system into our old subclasses, but still. Bottom tree Dawn has been underutilized for ages, and if you dislike top tree but want to use Dawnblade offensively, you have basically nothing. [link] [comments] |
Exodus evacuation gives a free mindbenders ambition Posted: 08 Sep 2020 10:58 AM PDT |
Quick tip if you're at the escalation protocol part of the evacuation quest Posted: 08 Sep 2020 12:15 PM PDT Apparently the quest is bugged right now or something, because wanted enemies as well as lost sector bosses also count towards the 5 ep boss objectives. Just giving you an easier way to complete this part. Have a nice day! [link] [comments] |
Eververse Solstice Armor Glow Intensity: Before/After Patch Comparison Posted: 08 Sep 2020 12:05 PM PDT Took some screenshots of the Eververse Solstice Armor Glows from before today's patch and from after today's patch, in which Bungie fixed (increased) the intensity of the glows. Just for reference as a quick comparison to see the glow intensity difference for all classes and subclasses. Screenshots are from Character Select Screen and also from Tribute Hall at full super intensity. Side-by-Side Comparisons: Before 9/8 Patch Armor Glows:
After 9/8 Patch Armor Glows:
Pretty noticeable difference and improvement! Very satisfied and will likely be continuing to use the ornaments for the forseeable future. I think the only issue is that the Arc Warlock doesn't seem to have changed much...could just be lighting, but all of the others are drastically improved! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 08 Sep 2020 07:13 PM PDT The first thought that went through my head after I completed Exodus and finally got Traveler's Chosen was "Can I reply the very first mission to try it out?". I opened daily heroic missions for the first time in probably a year and saw Chosen, the very last mission of The Red War and knew that was just as good. I started the mission and saw 4 other people doing it as well and was surprised. I jumped into the fight and was immediately taken over by the sound of sidearm fire only to see that all 5 of us had the sidearm. We all realized this and had a brief party of spraying each other with gun fire until we carried on with the mission. I love the fact that we all had the same collective thought of "I need to replay Red War with this gun" and we did. This game has one of the best communities out of any I've ever seen. Thank you. It's a very good weapon by the way, the quest is...tedious, but it definitely has a very exotic exotic as its peak. [link] [comments] |
Wow. Scientifically speaking, Mercury in the past may well have been, “A garden world.” Posted: 08 Sep 2020 08:56 PM PDT I'm reading The Planets by Andrew Cohen and Brian Cox (wonderful book, check it out). They are saying they think Mercury may have formed much farther out (in a favourable climate) from the sun from where it now resides. According to their explanation, Jupiter is responsible for dramatically altering the solar real estate for some of the planets, over the last few billion years. Of course, the processes of life forming and taking hold are seperate mysteries, but for a while, our sun's closest planetary neighbour may well have been "A Garden World"? [link] [comments] |
