and I told her "you can combine the whole magazine in one bullet", and she says without missing a beat "I can combine my whole fist into one punch". She mains a Titan, and that was the most Titan thing I think I've ever heard anyone say. I couldn't have been more proud :)

Hey bungie can I have my “69,420 contact motes deposited” back?

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 03:39 PM PST

Basically, I spent all of last season grinding out contact so i could have 69,420 displayed on my stat tracker, and I ended up finishing a few days before the season and I was so proud of myself. Then beyond light comes around and..... its gone...... bungie please....... I need my 69,420 back..... so much time wasted....

The seasonal model is completely the fault of the community.

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 07:41 AM PST

So, today the time has been taken to once again rail the seasonal model in the game. What I find astonishing is that nobody seems to recognise this is our fault. We moaned for years about content droughts, gaps between expansions. We told Bungie that Dark Below, House of Wolves, Curse of Osiris and Warmind weren't good enough. We told them we wanted to be drip fed content throughout the year.

That's what we got, and what does the community say? "No, go back to the thing we complained about before, this isn't good enough". Imagine being Bungie here, having to placate this overly vocal community at every twist and turn. All the while trying being told something isn't worth the money. And it's not like these things come out of thin air, seasons are built months in advance before release. SotH was likely a response to the lack of solo content available. But then when it's introduced, solo content isn't on the chopping block that day. So rather than recognise a request we asked for, we just complain that it's not what we wanted, even though it's what we asked for.

[It's like an entitled kid at Christmas, who isn't thankful for what they were given, they just want more, more and more.]

    Edit:

So, this post gained a lot of traction. I honestly expected it to be buried, more than anything I just wanted to (proverbially) put my pen to paper and get my frustration out of my head.

To start, I've cordoned off my entitled comment [like this]. I'm not going to remove it because I'm not going to pretend I didn't say it. But at the same time, I regret it to some degree. I guess the phrasing is a bit fucked. I more mean to say, a vocal part of this community is never happy with what they get, even if they asked for it. I still think that's entitlement, but differently to how I worded it.

There's been some great debate below. One thing I do love is seeing some of the quieter parts of this community coming out and voicing their thoughts. Even if we sit on opposite sides of the aisle, there's been some great debate and insight from a lot of you. Give yourselves a pat on the back, whether you agree with me or not, good job.

Flipping the coin though, there's been some outright sewage too. To my own regret, I engaged it too, creating some sewage of my own. I'm not apologising, but I wish I could compose myself better in the wake of that type of response.

The icing on the cake of crap though. Two of you took it upon yourselves to privately threat me violently. One, took the time to stalk through my post/comment history, find personal information, and contact me with a threatening message via that. To the three of you, I can't stress enough this point. FUCK OFF. Im not intimidated by your shitty messages. Suck a fart out your ass.

I have some thoughts on a follow up, but I don't know if I have the energy to make a second edit. I've been hitting up comments as they come in, but 1K+ comments just isn't feasible, nor am I bothered enough to address each and every one.

Bungie, please add a feature to collections to view an entire armor set at once

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 02:03 PM PST

The only place you can currently view what an entire set looks like in game is looking at an Eververse set before buying it. Id love to be able to hit "preview" at the end of the row in collections where you view each piece, and just see the entire thing at once.

Cold-Take: Bugs and exploits should be fixed regardless of whether or not we like them.

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 11:58 AM PST

As a lot of people saw yesterday, there was an exploit that allowed players to out of bounds into the end of the Heroic Cosmodrome lost sector, essentially bypassing the entire challenge and allowing players to freefarm for the new exotic gauntlets by only killing the boss.

This was available only for a short time before Bungie disabled the lost sector, and almost immediately there was a giant uproar on this subreddit (one post got thousands upon thousands of upvotes) from people who once again wrongly started claiming that Bungie "only fixes things that benefit the player!" There's plenty of threads that will list why this is historically inaccurate so I won't do that here, but what I will say is that:

Exploits that circumvent or break the game's difficulty or economy should be high priority fixes regardless of if it's fun for us or not.

This should not be controversial. It's stunning to see people complain that bungie didn't leave this in the game for everyone to exploit, and it's the same complaints this place saw when they patched the Master NF glitch farm, the Bad Juju tribute hall catalyst farm and many others.

The fact of the matter is, exploits that allow players to get ahead or obtain an advantage by utilizing bugs, is blatantly unfair. For Bungie, allowing these things to go unfixed is essentially saying that they condone what is more or less cheating for an advantage. It tells other players that they TOO should use exploits, or be left behind. This is a high priority issue for any developer, and it's why things like this get fixed quickly, opposed to a bug like Merciless' exotic perk not working, a bug that while annoying, is not giving anyone an unfair advantage over someone else.

Could/should bungie fix UNPOPULAR player bugs faster? Sure. As a playerbase we should absolutely advocate for faster and more effective bugfixing, but we cannot and should not do this and then suddenly turn around and get angry when Bungie fixes things we enjoy. Bugs are bugs. Fix them. Due to the way console certification works, sometimes the quickest fix is disabling. It sucks but that's how it works.

Riven is still completely broken and it's almost impossible to find a raid group to do her legitimately anymore. The entire encounter is fully bypassed, making it 100x easier for people to complete Last Wish. They should still fix it.

tl:dr: fix bugs regardless of if the players like it or not. players like things that are bad for the health of the game all the time

Basically what the title says, and I know I'm not the first person to say this but I'm not the last by a long shot. It's a bit of an inconvenience to go back into the menu for every iteration.

It is mind boggling that many Weapons Viable at Endgame and extremely potent to play are 100% unearnable right now.

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 07:41 AM PST

Right now if you wanted to get into or back into Destiny, a large portion of gear that is viable to be infused is just unearnable. On top of that, many are extremely viable.. I'm going to list them below to paint a better picture.

Season of Dawn (Relevant until Season 13):

Martyr's Retribution: Solar Waveframe Special Grenade Launcher. Because it is solar it can work with Rage of the Warmind and create Warmind Cells unlike Deafening Whisper (which has its own perks being Void)

Line in the Sand: Arc Heavy Linear that is extremely good DPS with Rapid Hit Firing Line. A roll not possible on Corsair's Wrath

Perfect Paradox: a Kinetic Shotgun that can roll 1-2 Punch or Trench barrel, excellent for Unstoppables this season.

Season of Worthy (Relevant until Season 14):

Literally every Seraph Weapon. Warmind Cells are insane in high end activities killing a whole room giving extreme damage reduction and a damage buff that stacks with anything else. The Seven Seraph Carbine, Seven Seraph Officer Revolver, and Seven Seraph VY-7 aren't very useful outside of this but the Seven Seraph Saw is one of the only viable Machine Guns, the Seven Seraph-CQC12 is a competitive Shotgun with Quickdraw, Snapshot, Vorpal Weapon and more, and the Seven Seraph SI-2 is an excellent pairing for Nezarec's Sin Warlocks.

Felwinter's Lie: Arguable the best and most consistent Shotgun in the Crucible right now which anyone who didn't earn it is out of luck to get especially for Trials, Competitive Survival, and Iron Banner.

Season of Arrivals (Relevant until Season 15):

Much like Season of Worthy, the Ikelos Weapons are all extremely viable as they produce Warmind Cells. Two are returning with Prophecy, but 2 are not. The Ikelos_SR_V1.0.2 not only produces Cells but also has an incredible DPS output with Tactical Mag, Fourth Times the Charm, and High Impact Reserves as well as a quite stellar Seraph Rounds, Quickdraw, Moving Target for Crucible. The Ikelos_SMG_V1.0.2 likewise is very useful some have said the best weapon in the game for its current prowess.

Falling Guillotine: one of the top Boss DPS weapons in the game, and almost certainly the best Sword in the Game. Being Void it gets even better as it combos with Nezarec's Sin.

And there are many weapons not on this list that are infeasible but not top tier. Some can be argued as deserving to be on this list I'm sure

Edit 1: u/cuboosh had a great comment. Adding these to Shattered Thrown and Put of Hersey would make that content be useful again and be super rewarding.

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 11:04 AM PST

Pretty much title. Would be nice to be able to have a reason to play strikes beyond the 3 per week to get rank up packages like the other playlists.

Excluding Perks in Wrathborne Hunts does NOT work. Proof inside.

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 08:55 AM PST

    TL;DR: Exclusion mutations don't work.

I pointed this out yesterday, on my very first run using exclusion mutations, my weapon dropped with 2 of the 4 perks I excluded. It has since happened almost every time I've done it, so I recorded my latest attempt for proof:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FagM59Ln4Go

If you don't want to watch, I used one mutation to 'exclude' Pulse Monitor and Moving Target, while it included Firmly Planted, Killing Wind, No Distractions and Outlaw.

I used another mutation to 'exclude' Kill-Clip and High Impact Reserves, while it included Quickdraw, One For All, Demolitionist and Bonus Super.

The resulting weapon dropped with Pulse Monitor and Unrelenting. One of the perks I excluded was on the gun, the second perk was one I did not 'include' in any of the mutations.

The mutations say nothing of chance. It simply says it 'will exclude', which it clearly does not.

Seeing The Crow after what happened the last time we met be like

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 04:33 AM PST

In the future, I don't think the yearly expansion needs an accompanying season

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 06:36 AM PST

It's obvious that both Shadowkeep and Beyond Light have suffered for it. I think it would be better to take the resources used building seasonal content to instead build more content for the actual expansion. Imagine if they had tried to release Black Armory and Forsaken at the same time; do you think either of them would have been as good as they were? I don't really think so.

Crow: "I'll be here, Testing my light"

Glint: "He's been trying to do some things he saw you do, It's wonderful... and Awkward"

    Crow: "GLINT!"

Edit: Got autocorrected - I meant Uldren. My bad.

Bungie should make an exotic called Due to An Issue

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 07:58 AM PST

Its like No Time to Explain except it will create a bug for each precision hit.

At 10 stacks of bugs, instead of creating a portal the gun gets disabled until a fix has been implemented.

Charging The Lure does not feel good.

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 03:56 PM PST

I was really excited for the new weapons from the season of the Hunt. I wanted that Friction Fire to have before raid lauched, I wanted that Defeaning Whisper with Ambicious Assassin (Even if for some reason it's damage doesn't register as void) and I wanted that Royal Chase because I like to have my enemies at range in Crucible. I want the loot but charging the Lure to get it just doesn't feel good.

Having to grind a few playlist activities before you can even attempt to get the weapons gets really stale really fast. Even though i really want to get the weapons, I catch myself bored doing activities after activities to even attempt to get the loot.

I do understand that it is something that is supposed to happen in the background. Meaning, you hop in into playlist activities and the charging of the Lure is just a bonus to it. However it fells either not rewarding enough or simply too restrictive.

If I could change it in any way i would either increase how much Lure is charged after every activity, or just allow us to charge it with anything we do.

Seriously, thats why Umbral engrams were so good. It was because no matter what you did: Be in farming Lost Sectors, Raiding, or just hanging around public event - you would get them.

If we could charge the Lure by doing anything, even if just by a small percentage, it would be the true "Play how you want" system.

The most challenging part of this entire expansion is trying to get your Stasis kills for your bounties before your teammates do.

Vanguard strikes have become really annoying while grinding bounties..... Make solo Vanguard Strikes.

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 03:32 PM PST

Give us guardians the opportunity to do solo vanguard strikes. The only solo strikes you can do ones are hard as hell and most people aren't to that level yet. Solo strikes would give enough of a challenge and give players the opportunity to grind out bounties and even farm certain areas of a map without the hassle of being dragged along by another two people. They would provide a challenge for folks who aren't ready to do solo nightfalls. There's plenty of benefits from solo vanguard strikes and from a technical end on bungie it really wouldn't be very difficulty

The hollowed lair doesn't get enough hate

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 09:57 AM PST

It's the most annoying strike in the playlist (yes even worse than exodus crash).

Apart from the boss fight it is fine. Not too much walking is actually really nice but the boss fight ruins it all. It's just such a waste of everybody's time.

    IMMUNE IMMUNE IMMUNE IMMUNE IMMUNE

LOST of trash enters the room

Players: Great! I can finish my bounties! Also I get a lot of xp and maybe some engrams!

Bungie: Haha... nope, no progress here. That would be a little bit too fast for our taste. Go play elsewhere but first suffer through this bossfight without any way to speed it up.

    IMMUNE IMMUNE IMMUNE IMMUNE IMMUNE

LOST of trash enters the room

    IMMUNE IMMUNE IMMUNE IMMUNE IMMUNE

3s damage phase and finally you get your 3 blues from the chest.

Seriously, they should remove it from the playlist or remove the immune phases and increase boss health by 500% or so. Especially now when it comes up more often because they removed many better strikes and you need to play more strikes to level up.

I get that they want a cinematic fight so that it feels epic the first time you play it. However strikes need to be fun 10, 50 or 400 times and should be designed that way. But I guess it's more important to please the game reviewer that plays it once than making a fun strike for the community.

Dear Bungie, what happened to the Stranger’s little fish companion? I was so excited to learn about it!

In all the Beyond Light trailers we saw this little fish thing following Elsie around, sort of like a Ghost but clearly something entirely new! You can see it at 0:38 in the last trailer from 2 weeks ago. I was so interested in what it was, so I'm curious what happened to it! Will we see it appear over the course of Season of the Hunt?
