- Just the thought of wyvern champions makes me shutter
This Week At Bungie 11/19/2020 Posted: 19 Nov 2020 09:08 AM PST Source: https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/49853 This week at Bungie, the Crow has found a new nest. Hello, and welcome to the second TWAB of Beyond Light. We've got a bit to cover today, so we won't spend too much time on introductions. Season of the Hunt kicked off proper on Tuesday. If you haven't jumped in just yet, we have some wonderful web lore to get you prepared. I wasn't mentally prepared for part 2... IMMOLANT PT. 1 // IMMOLANT. PT 2TWO DRINK MINIMUMWrathborn Hunts have begun. We still have the Deep Stone Crypt Raid, The Dawning, Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, and more to look forward to over the course of the Season. First stop: The raid. On Your Marks. Get Set. Raid.Season of the Hunt isn't the only thing making its grand entrance this week. At 10 AM PST on Saturday, November 21, the Deep Stone Crypt will become available. We've talked through Contest Mode, shown off some fancy rewards, but we wanted to get in a final reminder before the show begins. World First Verification Timeline Once the raid has been conquered, we will announce that the activity has been completed from @Bungie on Twitter. After this, our teams will start diving into the data to verify that the first completion was clean. Our hope is to be able to announce the winners shortly after World first, but we want to ensure our validation efforts are sound. Ultimately, our goal is to have a post congratulating the winning team on Monday, November 23. Contest Mode Reminder and a Quick Stasis Update Full details on Contest Mode can be found in the This Week at Bungie – 10/15/2020 article. Quick bullets that all should be aware of:
Earlier this week, an issue was discovered where Stasis was doing large (and we mean insanely huge) amounts of damage to bosses. The team worked at lightning pace to develop a fix for Destiny 2 Hotfix 3.0.0.3, thus preventing impact to the upcoming raid! We have a few more notes on general Stasis balancing later in the TWAB, so keep reading if you want to know more! This may not be a piece of Contest Mode, but we wanted to make sure to call this out for those who may have seen an interesting video or two over the last few days. There Will Be Loot Now, it wouldn't be a race if there wasn't something on the line. While many of you may have seen these rewards on our Instagram or even a preview on the Bungie Store website, we wanted to make sure to show these off in a TWAB before the raid released!
Now, only a few questions remain...
See you Saturday. It's going to be a blast. Securing the EntranceOur Security team has been working on a variety of projects to sharpen our tools for cheat detection. In the coming weeks we'll begin rolling out a new security measure for newly created accounts on PC. Our hope is that this deters some players from breaking the Code of Conduct. For a quick explanation of what's coming, our friends from the Security team will be taking the stage to walk you through the process of SMS verification.
Once this feature is live, free-to-play PC players will see an image in-game which will walk them through the signup process. For announcements regarding this security rollout, please follow @BungieHelp on Twitter. We will also release some help articles over the next week to give full details on the upcoming feature! As a reminder, if you encounter any players that you suspect of cheating or breaking our terms of service, please use the in-game report tool and submit a report using our contact form on Bungie.net. Game2Give 2020 Fundraising Campaign – Light KeepersOver the years, this community has proven time and time again that gaming does good. You've acted as Guardians of the world, providing aid to people in need, no matter the challenge. We're excited to announce our next initiative, partnering with Game2Give, starting on December 1! Without further ado, we'll pass the mic over to the Bungie Foundation to run us through this wonderful event.
We're also planning a few other goodies for you to unlock throughout the event when reaching certain donation milestones. Stay tuned for the full Game2Give 2020 article planned for December 1! Tuning the DarknessIt's not often that an entirely new subclass makes its entrance into the ecosystem of Destiny 2. The team has been hard at work over the last year building abilities and Supers powered by the Darkness. Enemies around the solar system are shaking in fear of your Stasis powers, including your fellow Guardians in the Crucible. Depending on when this article goes live, a hotfix may or may not be in the wild. We have some notes from the development team on what's changing in Destiny 2 Hotfix 3.0.0.3.
Let's Talk LootSince Beyond Light launched, we've been working through a whirlwind of feedback. What feels good, what needs work, and most importantly, how are you feeling? Today, we'll be talking through a bit of player feedback concerning loot, and some short term plans the development team is working on.
Feedback never stops, and we're always excited to hear how you're feeling about Destiny 2. Keep it coming. Bashing Some BugsThis last week has been a whirlwind. New content, new bugs, and new investigations. Destiny Player Support has a full report of what's we've found, and what we're still on the hunt for. This is their report.
Always WatchingWe've been spending a lot of time over the last week and a half watching players reacting to live events, expansion launches, and more. There have been a few moments where we were watching players taking advantage of some interesting bugs, too. Don't worry, we aren't keeping a naughty or nice list. You're all still winners in our hearts. Well, sort of. The actual winners for MOTW put out some fun videos that creep me the hell out. Festival of the Lost may be over, but there are still echoes of darkness reverberating through our Creations page. Movie of the Week: Truth Movie of the Week: The Curse of Bad JuJu Movie of the Week: Risen (Warning – Strobing Lights/Imagery) If you'd like a chance at our new MOTW emblem, make sure to submit your content to the Creations page on Bungie.net. Tag it with #MOTW, and please credit everyone who contributed to the video in its description. An Artistic TouchI will always have great appreciation for those with a green thumb, but even moreso for those with a green thumb for art. These skills are earned through hours, days, weeks, months, and years of practice… but I will always be amazed at the pieces we see shared throughout our community. This week, we have an amazing take on Beyond Light, and more. Featured Art: Go Beyond the Light
Featured Art: Immolant Pt. 2
Featured Art: Europan Fireteam
If you have any Destiny inspired art, make sure to tag it with #DestinyArt on Twitter, Instagram, or whatever image hosting site you use! Each week, we pick a few and grant unique emblems to their creators. I'll admit, this TWAB has been somewhat difficult to write. Don't get me wrong, what's said above is incredibly important! Charity initiatives to help those in need, the upcoming raid race, new security measures, and Stasis tuning are great things to see. It's always a fun time collaborating with the various teams of Bungie to get you a weekly dose of information. That said, I'm just itching to get back into the game. It's about time for me to go hunting. See you next week. ...wait, I'll more than likely see you on Saturday for a raid race. Either way, I hope you are in good health, and wish you a good weekend. Cheers, -dmg04 [link] [comments]
Daily Discussion - Free Talk Friday! Posted: 20 Nov 2020 01:00 AM PST Hello Guardians! Today is Free Talk Friday! Talk about whatever you'd like! Your comments need not be related to Destiny. You can post memes, twitch streams, wallpapers, or personal stories about your life. We will still be enforcing Rule 1 (reddiquette/civility) in this thread. Footage of how bad the Warlock Stasis melee is now Posted: 19 Nov 2020 12:24 PM PST courtesy of u/a_persian I'm a Titan so this doesn't affect me but I do think they went overboard here. [link] [comments]
Bungie said with the changes to the backend, they can apply fixes much faster. Posted: 19 Nov 2020 09:14 AM PST They just proved it. In a week they fixed witherhoard, the strikes that were bugging, ammo problems with the fusion, pinnacle bug (which was just found the other day btw) along with some other stuff and did it all while they're working from home. Just wanted to mention something positive amongst the flood. [link] [comments]
The Stasis nerfs primarily effecting warlocks is giving me nova warp PTSD Posted: 19 Nov 2020 12:15 PM PST The life of a warlock main. Get good super, get it absolutely demolished, hunter gets to keep their annoyingly powerful super (last time it was spectral, this time it's the tornado that chases you around the map for 15 years) By saying this I'm not trying to say that Shadebinder wasn't overtuned, just that the primary problem is freeze time, and warlocks are the only class with significant freeze nerfs. EDIT: I see a lot of hunters saying their super isn't that powerful. Y'all don't appreciate that super lol. That tornado chases you into gunfights you're not prepared for, controls lanes, and the sickle is a good enough shutdown. So maybe your super doesn't get 5 kills per activation, but your teammates are gonna love you pushing panicking blueberries into their sightlines. Posted: 19 Nov 2020 05:02 PM PST This is just so you can have a reference for how long it takes Bungie to undo any heavy handed nerfs. The last tuning they gave Nova Warp made it slightly better... And also made you kill yourself every time you tried to use Handheld Supernova while jumping, something that hasn't been fixed either, so it was a net nerf. Apparently, HHSN is stronger than a blade barrage, considering you can't kill yourself with BB from full health but you can with HHSN. Don't expect buffs or reversal of nerfs! You're setting yourself up to disappointment. We might get buffs during the "Stasis Season", sometime in 2022, after the "Void Season" that hasn't happened yet but might happen in 2021. The lures should charge by doing Lost Sectors, Empire Hunts, Heroic Patrols and Raids Posted: 19 Nov 2020 06:55 PM PST With the Eclipsed Zones coming with the raid, the lure should really charge by doing activities on Europa. In the ideal world, the lures should charge by enemies killed, after all. [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Nov 2020 10:23 AM PST "Fun fact: This actually came about when, due to COVID complicating things, we were unable to book Drifter's voice actor for this mission as it was intended to be him providing the radio dialogue. One of our writers had the idea to have Ghost just pretend to be him instead (As scheduling Mr. North lined up better) and wrote all this awesome dialogue. Apparently on the first take Nolan perfectly imitated Drifter and had to be instructed to intentionally do it worse. The end result is some of my favorite dialogue from this release." - gunmaster95 I demand the first impression recording. Posted: 19 Nov 2020 09:39 AM PST Even with a full melee charge, it defaults to the regular slap attack when enemies are too close. Can I just be allowed to use the melee ability (when charged) even if I have an enemy right in front of my face? [link] [comments]
Shadebinder changes are reasonable EXCEPT for the melee nerfs Posted: 19 Nov 2020 11:44 AM PST Most of the changes in the Shadebinder class are fairly reasonable. I wouldn't have been surprised if that hadn't been cut by another 5-10 seconds, except that it's basically a two-step super. When you think of roaming warlock supers, the ultimate had been for me top tree Stormcaller with three tines proc'ed on Crown of Tempest. Ie, you'd expect an exotic to be in use to get that level of performance. The melee changes, though are beyond horrid. They may seem innocent on paper, but in practice, Shadebinders don't have a powered melee at this point. I finally had a ranged melee on my 'Lock main that felt as good as my 1000 Cuts hunter alt. Now, it's such a measure of blind luck with that narrow a window combine with slow melee speed and slower travel, that a powered melee is effectively gone. The PvP freeze duration change was all that was needed to bring it into balance. [link] [comments]
(Updated for BL) Strike-Specific Loot Tables Posted: 19 Nov 2020 10:50 PM PST Ok, Guardians, here's the skinny on what I've found by running the Vanguard playlist for a week:
Edit: I can't actually confirm Exodus Crash's reward 'cause that's gonna be a "Ⓨ Return to Orbit" for me, dog. [link] [comments]

The Problem with Shadebinder Nerf that a lot of People Dont Seem to Realize Posted: 19 Nov 2020 01:23 PM PST I just want to start by saying there are people who do acknowledge this but a majority don't seem to understand. With the range nerf being cut so low, now you need to be a lot closer to the enemies when using the melee to actually hit them. The issue with this is that many times when trying to use the melee properly, the game thinks you are using the regular melee attack as opposed to the ability. So now, most of the time using a melee will either result in 1) using regular melee on accident or 2) shooting the melee out of range and not hitting anything. There is such a small window in which you can use the melee now where it almost never works and some aspects of it need to be rolled back. TLDR: The window of space where using Shadebinder melee correctly is too small to use properly. [link] [comments]
Bungie if penumbral blast has it's range nerfed at least make it activate at close range Posted: 19 Nov 2020 10:29 AM PST Celestial fire activates at close range, ball lightning activates at close range, why not penumbral blast. [link] [comments]
This game is in desperate need of a saved loadout system Posted: 19 Nov 2020 08:37 AM PST It's kind of annoying swapping mods & armor pieces before every activity. With how accessible, the mod system has become a saved loadout system needs to be implemented in someway shape or form. I'm not sure if Bungie ever spoke about this, so sorry if I missed the memo. I'm open to hearing other ideas too. [link] [comments]
To the level designers, lore writers, and artists at Bungie. Posted: 19 Nov 2020 10:19 PM PST Amid all the salt which has risen because of the most recent DLC, I hope you all know that your hard work does not go unnoticed. Your dedication and passion for this game and it's franchise is apparent and for many people, including myself, it is the reason we kept getting pulled back in. What quality of content we got from this expansion, regardless of how you feel about its size, was superb and, because of this, we can tell that you love this game and want it to succeed just as much as we do. This game is beautiful, its levels diverse, and its lore deep; I have you all to thank for creating my favorite game franchise. Thank you so much for all that you do. I just played through the Broodhold strike again last night, and all I've got to say is... Posted: 19 Nov 2020 06:43 AM PST Shoutout to my boy Hiraks for piping a hive brood queen. Like damn, if he wasn't dead I'd have to ask him for some tips so that I can be ready for when Xivu Arath comes to town. [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Nov 2020 12:51 PM PST You now have 7 total possible attacks however this will reduce the super time to 10 seconds. thus the average would be 4/5 attacks and about 14 seconds of super [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Nov 2020 04:09 PM PST Basically when u get in the room where the drifter talks u can select a class with the same perks the gambit prime armor sets had but without having to equip a armor set or change mods around. u would select one at the beginning of each game. This way u could play around with different play styles without having to change up armor. I would also enjoy gambit a lot if this was a thing. I liked the idea behind the gambit prime perks but i hated having to switch up all my armor to get the perks. Also the features u use to get from those armor are not currently in the game. The reworked damage resist mods got a huge buff! Testing and Numbers Inside Posted: 19 Nov 2020 07:26 AM PST With the reorganization of mods this expansion, Bungie made some changes to the damage resist mods. First, they removed Minor/Major/Boss resist, and replaced them with two new mods: Melee Damage Resistance: Reduces incoming damage from combatants that are at point-blank range. Sniper Damage Resistance: Reduces incoming damage from combatants that are at long range The second change was that they moved the mods from the general slot into the main chest armor slot, meaning you can only slot up to two, and they compete with the reserve mods. These mods, as well as the remaining concussive dampener and solar/arc/void resist mods are all 1 energy. This seemed like a nerf to the old system where you could slot up to five mods, so I tested them out, using the vandal and the boss in the Concealed Void lost sector.
As you can see, the system is way simplified. The old system had different scaling curves for each resist type from x1 to x5, and needed way more slots to get the same resistance. It also makes it easier to swap in and out depending on what's killing you. Keep getting sniped by Vandals? Pop in two sniper mods. Swarmed by thrall? Melee. One thing to note is that when you have access to a raid banner, you can use your reserve mods before you rally at the banner to have higher starting ammo, then switch to the resist mods for the encounter itself. I hope this has been helpful to you, especially for those hoping to complete the raid day 1. For me, I'm definitely bringing an arc chest piece and slotting two arc mods, assuming the raid is mostly Fallen. TL;DR: New mods are great. 1 mod gives 25% resist, 2 gives 40% resist. Just the thought of wyvern champions makes me shutter Posted: 19 Nov 2020 11:20 AM PST Those fuckers do so much damage and have so much health for just being red bars most of the time. The red bar ones seem markedly more aggressive than orange or yellow bar ones. Even if you aren't under leveled, they one or two shot most of the time. [link] [comments] |
