Bungie always wants to know how things make us feel. Well, I’ll tell you, getting Long Shadow as a reward for a brand-new story mission did not feel good.

Did Bungie really not update the world weapon loot pool??

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 02:25 PM PST

I mean, what? The weapons even still have the old max light numbers.

Bungie really does not want us to hand in weapon parts do they...?

    Edit:

Thanks for this kind of blowing up while I was sleeping, glad I'm not alone

It was such an hilarious Idea to send that small ass hydra through that big ass gate first, My fire team laughed pretty hard until the big one came out.

Perfect switcheroo, we need more of this

The weapon pool is going to be problematic for a couple of seasons, and it's pretty disappointing.

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 08:02 PM PST

TL;DR: Weapon pool feels small now. Gone from an abundance of riches to slim pickings. Don't feel super hype about this one particular aspect of Beyond Light.

Let me preface this by saying that I've just finished the main campaign, I had a ton of fun, and I'm super exicted about the next 12 months of Destiny. Statis is a lot of fun, new exotics look great, I love a new sandbox, so theres plenty to be positive about.

That said, it looks like there are only 23 new weapons at this stage of the expansion, and while sunsetting does not mean removed from the game, there are hundreds of weapons that have been lost from competitive use. In raids, Iron Banner, Trials & all Europa activities (and we should assume any newly added content), the weapon pool right now (excluding exotics) draws only from Dawn, Worthy, Arrivals & Hunt seasons. While they all added some interesting weapons to the loot pool, they didn't add a ton of volume compared to the mountain that was just retired.

I'm really hoping this is an issue that fixes itself over time, with new weapons added every season, but of course with each addition, a sizeable chunk will become competitively obsolete. My early thoughts are that the weapon pool feels pretty weak, watered down, and as the months roll by I think we're going to feel it more and more. Even as the seasons release, we're constantly going to be limited to a 4-season cycleof weapons, and if only 20~ are added each season that's going to create a feeling of limitation.

I don't have a solution, maybe an item that lets you once per season raise the cap of any weapon (though it creates balance issues), maybe pinnacles/rituals dont have a cap, it's for smarter people than me to decide. I'd like to see the abundance of choice remain one of the core identities for Destiny.

To the people asking 8000 times an hour "Is it worth coming back to Destiny right now?"

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 07:16 AM PST

Firstly this isn't meant as an attack it's meant to be insightful.

To begin, None of us know what Beyond Light brings and how good it will be - So the question is sort of redundant.

Secondly - No one can tell you what you may or may not like. You are going to need to form an opinion of your own. You don't have to purchase Beyond light to try some of the previous content now that Destiny is free to play.

Lastly. If you come to this Sub to ask this question you're going to get Bias answers for the most part telling you how great the game is since we're fans for the most part.

Try the free to play aspects of the game. If you like it and can afford to, then buy the expansion. If you dislike it then retire.

    Hope this helped.

Personally I'm still against how they handled sunsetting our gear

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 06:13 PM PST

If we arent using something from last season its instantly obsolete and we know half the new stuff they give us is just going to be Reskins

Going through the missions and strikes, holy crap. I understand we are underleved as hell for this chapter of the dlc and how it's barely the first day but I seriously don't remember shadowkeep or even forsaken kicking my ass this much

HOW TO TRIGGER HEROIC ON CRUX CONVERGENCE [Public Event]

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 11:49 AM PST

    1. On the 3 pyramids, there's some DRONES hovering over the pyramid (look up). There's like 3-4 drones in every pyramid.
    2. While the DRONES are DOWN, kill the mechs (to reduce the clappage but optional)
    3. Then, it should trigger heroic.
    4. The name should be FALLEN BRIGS
    5. Enemy is a big boi Mech.

Bungie, I do not know what you did, but console load times are fan-freaking-tastic!

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 06:21 PM PST

Seriously! With how long it took from startup to character select I used to have time for a decent-length bathroom break. Now it takes a fraction of that time.

Heck, loading into destinations is near-instantaneous. Whatever you guys did, fucking kudos! (for those curious, Xbox One X, not Series X)

The Last City was amazing , we should spend more time there.

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 03:09 AM PST

We finally went down to the city without killing to do , nothing was broken or destroyed , and it felt so good , i wish if we can spend more time there , maybe make it a permanent public space

    Lack of new weapons

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 02:13 PM PST

Looking through the collections there are at most like 1-2 new guns in each category. This is severely lacking in comparison to forsaken. Sunsetting is going to suck even more when we are grinding for the same 3 year old weapon models.

Back in my day when new content or a BIG DLC dropped the front page was littered with posts about all the new cool shit everyone found or noticed - loot, secrets, *spoilers*, tips, and tricks... it was hard to keep up with... what the fuck happened?

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 05:52 PM PST

I know we are still in the boner phase and at least a week or two away from the salt phase... I know I'll get attacked by the apologists who are in denial.

"Luke said it would be smaller than 'x' but bigger than 'y'... he must have been talking about map size.

Europa and the Deep Stone Crypt are beautiful.

    Where's my LOOTER shooter?

What the fuck is going on here?

The new quest system is really great

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 01:48 PM PST

The new system pops up objectives on the screen once you finish the last one, and then auto-marks your next destination. It'll even place waypoints on specific enemies with a quest marker. It makes doing the main quest so much more fluid than it's ever been and it's a really great change!

Guide how to Powerlevel until PL 1200

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 01:33 PM PST

    Very easy and effective strategy.

Just farm the 3 following things while being at the Hellmouth on the Moon.

    • Trove Guardian's Chest
    • Public Events
    • Powerful Nightmare

each of those "activities" rewards you with a blue drop. You can easily hit PL 1200 within 2 hours of doing this.

Full credits to Siegedancers for this Strategy.

Don't do the Europa Lost Sectors before finishing the story!

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 11:22 AM PST

Dialogue played at the end of the Cadmus Ridge lost sector which spoiled events that happen later in the story. I assume all the other ones will be like this.

Initial impression of Behemoth: It is a worse version of titan arc smash that is harder to use.

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 07:50 PM PST

After some short time with the subclass, it just seems like there would be no reason for me to select it over a top tree smash.

Any other Titans out there with thoughts?

Exotic Sword 'The Lament' may give us the origins of a classic Destiny character.

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 05:36 AM PST

The flavor text reads "The last thing the Vex ever heard- the grinding wails of a vicious Banshee."

The Intrinsic perk is Banshee's Wail.

To top it off, the sword is colored blue and yellow.

Looks like we may finally get to figure out why Banshee-44 has so many resets.

Possible soft cap farm on widow's walk EDZ

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 02:57 PM PST

There seems to be a high chance of a legendary drop from either the four nightmare shanks or the Boss in the Widow's walk lost sector in Trostland on the EDZ. Good for farming up to the soft cap.

Edit: have done 20 runs and gotten 26 legendary pieces.

Edit 2: The Boss seems to be the guaranteed drop with the shanks a chance drop as well as the chest. also you will receive season mods from the engrams. the highest tier ones cost 6 energy on your Ghost. They are 12% xp, 65% glimmer and 50 meter detect for both chests and plant resources.

Edit 3: after doing enough powerful drops, I went back and tested if the drops would behave like other world drops and be around 2 or 3 levels below your max as you powered up. The drops worked as expected and you could use this method to slowly creep up your weaker items or it would be a good way to get armor on your next characters before doing their powerful drops.
