Theory: The bullets fired from No Time To Explain’s time hole are actually from 2014 Guardians shooting into the Loot Cave

    Posted: 13 Nov 2020 12:55 PM PST

It would explain why there's always bullets flying out of the thing, because there was always Guardians shooting into that loot cave. Any shots that missed the enemies would fly inside, get absorbed by a time vortex, and get spat out now.

Do NOT dismantle "Adored". You can't get it back.

    Posted: 13 Nov 2020 07:54 PM PST

After finishing the quest for the Adored, I ended up infusing it into another weapon since I don't like to use snipers and it was counting as a pinnacle upgrade, so I wanted to make the most out of that power level on other equipment of mine. Little did I know, the collection considers this as "randomized gear", so you CANNOT reaquire it, since the weapon in the collection does NOT have a fixed masterwork.

While the weapon DOES show in the collection, for completionists' sake, you can't reacquire it. I don't personally plan on using the sniper, but if any of you did and were tempted to do the same thing I did, well, don't.

This was my TED talk, take care of your sniper rifle.

Our Guardian is not the main character in Beyond Light

    Posted: 13 Nov 2020 10:56 AM PST

Okay so stick with me on this because it's literally ground breaking and once you open your third eye to this truth there is no going back.

It is well known that Bungie pulls story inspirations from various sources but they have been setting up this story beat since the very beginning.

SPOILERS AHEAD : You have been warned

In Beyond light we finally get the long awaited return of the Exo Stranger but we now know her true identity Elsie Bray. Also note that it is shown that Elsie can wield ice powers I.e Stasis.

Elsie is not the only living Bray that we know about or that appears in Beyond light. That's right, my main girl herself Ana Bray. Key thing to note here is that Ana being a Guardian has no memory of her past life and more importantly Elsie, she only knows of her due to Ana tracking down information about her past life.

Towards the end of Beyond light we watch Elsie struggle with her internal conflict to contact Ana and show her the truth that she had been hiding from her in an attempt to keep her safe from the powers that she wields (Stasis) because in Elsie's past Ana had been overcome or injured by them.

I hope your beginning to see the parallels here but if not let's break it down

    Elsie and Ana - Sisters

Elsie - can wield Ice powers

Ana - lost her memory and contact with her sister

Elsie - desperately tries to hide this information from her sister for fear of what has become of Ana in her past

    Elsie- Elsa

    Ana - Anna

THATS RIGHT BEYOND LIGHT IS FROZEN

So you may be asking, If Beyond light is basically Frozen, what character are we based on, and I have that answer as well

So looking way back to Vanilla D1, Elsie contacts us to pursue the vex on Venus, the first major story beat being destroying the heart in the Black garden. In a certain way you could say she "made" us into the god killing Guardian we are now.

Then in Warmind we team up with Ana to help her on Mars. She uses us to contact Rasputin and to uncover more information about her family.

Finally in Beyond light our Guardian Finally reunites the sisters and Ana learns of Elsie's Powers.

    So that makes us OLAF

Yes Ana has yet to fully accept Elsie with her powers but we have much more content to come.

Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

    Your welcome

Charging 25$ each for Forsaken and Shadowkeep that have no relevant content is beyond scammy

    Posted: 13 Nov 2020 05:22 AM PST

Either make them relevant or make them free. People who bought these expansions probably got their money's worth, but the new light players who may enjoy the game don't know that they are paying for stuff that they can't really use outside of patrol. I'm not even gonna bother mentioning the lack of loot in a 40$ expansion (which removed way more than it added) as there are more than enough posts on the front page right now.

I'm not really surprised by this because I no longer have any faith or trust in Bungie, but this is some EA and Activision level shit. I hope there was a pinned post on the front page telling people and specially new players these stuff.

    Our pal Banshee is . . .

    Posted: 13 Nov 2020 11:04 PM PST

    Clovis Bray.

From the Ishtar collective, "RECOVERED MEMORY; CLOVIS 43."

"You're sure about this? "This is the last of the radiolarian fluid, you know," she says.

Many of the souls we lost at the hands of the Vex and the terror of Clovis were gone for good. But we managed to bring a few back. Got them all off-world. Now it's just us. Soon to part ways forever.

I get her apprehension. Elsie finally gets a grandfather worth her time, and now I'm about to get a fresh reboot. She deserves to know why.

"When we added Bank E1-815 to your current imprint, all those memories came back to you. About your family. Sisters. Brother. Mother and father. About the pain. The loss. The guilt."

    "Yeah…"

    "Elsie, I caused that."

    "You're not him."

"I'll always be the ghost of him. No matter how hard we try to ignore it. And you… you deserve to be free from that person."

She bows her head, which tells me she agrees. It pains me to no end. There was a world where we were a happy family. This isn't it. We both know it.

I place a tablet in front of her.

    "What's this?"

"It's his journal. Yours if you want it. Lock it away if you don't. It's mostly encrypted, anyway. I read a bit. The kind of person I was… fear driven. Obsessed with legacy. I won't become that. Not again. It's time for you and your siblings to rebuild the Bray legacy the right way. Or tear the whole damn thing down."

I can see how badly she wants to. Maybe she will someday.

    "All right then," she says.

I don't really know how to say goodbye. But she does. She pulls me in for the first hug I've ever had. Holds me tight. We share the moment. A reverie of what could have been. A passing glance through the looking glass.

Wish I could shed a tear right now. Doesn't matter—I feel it anyway. She does too.

"Do me a favor?" I ask.

    "Anything."

"That nickname the other Exos gave me… add it to my imprint? With my number?"

She laughs. It's good to hear it one more time. "You really like it, don't you?"

    "It's growing on me."

    "Okay then, Banshee."

I step into the pod. Doors close. I give her a little wave.

Let's see what 44 has in store."

Okay so here's the whole story. Clovis Bray is in critical condition and on his deathbed, while Elsie and a crew of others are at the glassway portal. The portal was damaged on the alien side, which means they can't sense what will come through, which is then followed up by a MASSIVE Hydra and a horde of Vex swarming through. An exo tells Elsie to shut off the portal, but she says that she needs Clovis Brays access codes in order to do so, so they flee. Elsie then confronts Clovis on giving her the access codes needed to shut down the portal, but he insists that she activate her backup to preserve his "legacy." She does at the cost of many more lives. The main Clovis has now been installed as an all seeing AI and the backup, or, "New guy" is now up and ready with the personality and mindset of Clovis, although far less evil and with none of the memories of Clovis. Elsie and co evacuate on ships, but Daddy Clovis AI blows them up, so the only thing left is to storm Europa and shut off the Glassway portal. Elsie of course wielding her trusty pulse rifle and "New guy" wielding the chainsaw sword we all know and love, The Lament, with the words "His strength, agility - unmatched. Vex after Vex, sliced through like butter, that Sword of his wailing like a banshee seeking vengeance, carrying the weight of thousands of lost souls." So, whoever said that the Lements little description paints Banshee as a Vex Doomslayer, you were right on the money. This attack goes on, and "new guy" ends up having to be rebooted 43 times before they reach the Glassway portal, killing the Hydra inside and shutting off the portal. Elsie and "new guy" head to shut off Clovis once and for all. New guy is then given the name Banshee, for his sword, and rebooted a final time before being sent off in a time travel pod.

    Ladies and gentleman, holy shit.

Bungie, throw the solo players a bone. Please give us a consistent grind to get an ascendant shard every week.

    Posted: 13 Nov 2020 11:58 PM PST

As a solo player, I have no surefire way to earn ascendant shards without either saving my prisms and materials (insanely time consuming), or hopping on LFG and farming nightfalls (many people in this community have anxiety or other circumstances preventing them from using LFG regularly).

So, please give us some kind of bounty that rewards an ascendant shard; just like you did with the exotic cypher. It can be grindy, it can be repetitive, but please give us a way to consistently earn at least one ascendant shard each week.

This would seem to be especially necessary given that masterworked gear can only really be used for 3 seasons in endgame content. But thats an issue for another day.

Thanks in advance to anyone who reads this :)

The high-value Brigs on Europa are one of the best changes to high-values and loot! THAT is EXACTLY how open world bosses should be!

    Posted: 13 Nov 2020 03:55 PM PST

As my titles states you did very well on that Bungie. In the Open World the high value target brigs are the perfect example of how loot quality and enemy effort can work together in Destiny.

Those world bosses are, at least with slightly underlevel, a good direction into better open world content.

Reminds me alot of WoW. People gather to focus on that enemy and try to get it down... And in the end we get rewarded fairly!

    Well done!

The Strike Experiences are Beyond Annoying Now

    Posted: 13 Nov 2020 10:53 PM PST

This was a topic that was brought up multiple times during the last few YEARS. The strike bounties still require us to compete against our teammates despite us asking Bungie to change the bounty so that we can play the strikes without being forced to kill X numbers of enemies with X.

The new stasis quest was a total nightmare for me. I picked up two strike routes because I was an idiot who thought that it's not going to be as bad as the competitive game mode routes. Strikes right now are basically Gambit without invading. I have seen people literally not rezzing people because they are trying to rack up all of the stasis kills for their quests/bounties. Even worse, I have seen multiple people who do not participate in the encounter and wait at the exit so they can immediately go into the next area and claim all of the kills before the others.

Strike isn't meant to be a competitive PvE mode; it's supposed to be a cooperative PvE mode. If they truly want to keep this model, they need to let us launch the strike by ourselves. Oh wait, they vaulted that.

There is literally no point in this game having sunsetting

    Posted: 13 Nov 2020 06:13 AM PST

I'm glad that people in this reddit are now piping up about this issue as I could see it coming from a mile away. Apart from pinnacles that should of never been added into the game, sunsetting is just a crap idea; it literally defeats the whole purpose of the game being a LOOTER SHOOTER, NOT an MMO (guns are not stat sticks).

I've always been a person who likes to switch up loadouts but how can you when what, there is only one earnable legendary machine gun in the game for example; thats an absolute joke and to me personally, defeats the whole purpose of actually grinding.

Yesterday, I got the Xenoclast IV shotgun and had a look at its perk. The ones that really stood out to me were the new ones bungie introduced which included dual loader and thresh. They sound like really cool perks and and I would definitely be willing to switch up my shotgun game because of them, so... What is the actual point of sunsetting then? If you are giving us new and interesting perks to use, we will just organically try new weapons? I don't get the point of having to sunset every single weapon as that was the clear goal of bungie; to push ppl to use new gear (and to remove power creep which ultimately came from outlier pinnacles) when you could be giving us new perks for us to try out and ultimately, to swap to... There was another perk that was mentioned where if you get a kill when your abilities are uncharged (doesn't matter how many) it will increase the charge rate for all of them which synergises really, really well with stasis; Bungie this is great stuff here! More of this!

Sorry if this is not a very well structured post as I have dyslexia which makes it hard to express what I'm thinking in my head. Others who have made posts have really explained the issue much better than me but I just wanted to make a contribution to this discussion.

Edit: Below is some real great discussion on what could be done and some recommendations made by players. I hope that this post will help drive feedback for the team; we love this franchise and we want the game to be the greatest that it can be :)

The model Bungie used with vendors in D1, year 3, with weekly rotating rolls, needs to return

    Posted: 13 Nov 2020 08:46 PM PST

That was the best time for vendors, and I think it was a large part of why that was Destiny's peak time. Every week we would see 2 or 3 weapons that the entire community was talking about because the rolls were so good. It instantly gave us something worthwhile to chase, even deep into a season where new content was long gone and grinding was the order of the day. It created a valuable and worthwhile incentive for logging on every day and playing, even getting enough currency or whatever you needed to purchase all those good rolls was the only reason you were doing so.

I think if Bungie were to re-introduce a rotating weekly inventory, with the same model, it would only add to the game and would provide incentive for re-playability. We like to chase guns. Plain and simple.

PS: They also need to bring back factions into that weekly rotation

Why are vendors giving out weapons that can’t be upgraded?

    Posted: 13 Nov 2020 07:52 AM PST

I just got Scathelocke from Devrim Kay and I was stoked because I'd been wanting it (because it wrecks me in Crucible). But now I see that it can't be upgraded past like 1060? Is this right? Why would we be rewarded with something that is essentially unusable in many parts of the game?

Really confused about the decision making here. I get if they want to do that for weapons pre-expansion, but for something that I get post-expansion? What?

I should note that I'm a casual player and don't normally get too bothered by this kind of stuff, but this just seems absurd.

You can get a guaranteed Europa item drop from killing the enforcer brigs that roam around

    Posted: 13 Nov 2020 07:35 PM PST

Found this out while just killing these bastards. Every time you kill one it drops a chest that contains a weapon or armor piece from the Europa loot pool. Thought this would be helpful for those looking to farm good rolls on the weapons or armor.
