    Focused Feedback: Season 11 Review

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 06:40 AM PST

    Hello Guardians,

Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.

We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.

This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion

Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding 'Season 11 Review' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

Beyond Light Launch Day Suggestion - Don't take the day off work for it

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 12:43 PM PST

More than likely you'll just waste a vacation day as with the launches of a new expansion with any game, the first day is full of server crashes and long queue lines and even if they don't happen, you miss playing the first half of the day anyway if you're in Eastern or Central (like myself) time zones since it won't launch until reset that day at noon or 11a respectively. I was one of those people who wasted a vacation day when Forsaken dropped and didn't even get to play until around 9p-10p that night. It happened with Forsaken and Shadowkeep. Save yourself the frustration and take Nov. 11th off instead.

Edit: not sure why I'm being downvoted for speaking from experience.

Saw a true Titan today in d1

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 05:57 AM PST

Hanging out in the Cosmodrome with a level 19 titan. Event starts, tank drops from a skiff. Didn't even finish deploying when this guy did the most titan thing ever:

He ran up to the tank and punched it. He kept punching and punching. Eventually after many minutes later (and a few gjallahorn rockets from me)...

    The tank died.

As a warlock, I was so honored to be in the presence of a true titan, a guardian to rival the Iron lords for this titan was a Lord, not of iron, but of Crayons.

The BrayTech Futurescape apparently had a skateboarding problem

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 02:52 PM PST

You may have noticed that several of the concrete barriers in the Futurescape campus have little studs along the edges.

These aren't just graphical details, they are part of the physical model as well. Walking against the edge causes you to bump against each one.

But what are they? These little metal greebles aren't structural items, they are a type of hostile architecture- a skateboard deterrent. Anti-Skate studs are hardware that can be installed along things like benches, railings, and stonework to break up the long continuous edges that make for sick grinds.

So with these studs along the long edges of the concrete walls, Braytech is keeping those damn hooligans from causing a ruckus and property damage.

...At least, that's what I thought until I realized- these studs are only along the bridge and the plaza wall overlooking the dam. Maybe they were just trying to keep these stupid kids from becoming Exo test fodder killing themselves on Clovis Bray property.

To be fair, the BrayTech Futurescape looks like a sweet place to do some tricks, and Bungie should consider collaborating with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater developer... Activision. oh

Everyone wanting a vendor gear refresh. But I'll be happy if Bungie does a vendor voice lines refresh.

You just never quit, do you? Took out Ghaul. Woke up the traveler. And now half of what i hear in the streets is how much you and your clan are making a difference. And that's why i started this whole clan thing in the first place. People are still waiting for the Vanguard to lead the way. But it's time for a change. And guardians like you are making it happen. No pressure.

All exotic weapons should have a catalyst. (ASAP)

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 03:36 AM PST

Seeing as exotic weapons are the only ones not being sunset, it feels like they're a more permanent part of our account. I dunno about y'all, but I don't like using exotics without a catalyst.

    1. No kill tracker.
    2. No orbs.
    3. No champion mods for the majority of them.
    4. No shiny border (Thank you, u/D4rkn33z31)

Sounds like an audio mix that we need to unscramble. This might be for the Calamity emblem that we saw earlier.

I can’t believe that Cayde-6 never got a statue in the Tribute Hall.

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 07:30 PM PST

Ikora and Zavala are on one side of the hall. Shaxx and... an Iron Banner gong on the other side. Like, really? We couldn't give Cadye-6 a proper statue? We have Calus, Mira Sov, anonymous ceremonial bather and Insurrection Prime, they all have statues. No Cayde. The legendary guardian we spent all of D1 and a year of D2 with, chuckling at his corny jokes. As the only member of the Vanguard who wasn't technically a living person, he managed to humanize the game and breath life into an otherwise stale team of NPCs. The guy who we spent D2's most memorable and impactful expansion exacting revenge on his murderer. No friggjn statue. Kinda sad. Even if he comes back as Cayde-7, he still deserved a statue, perhaps more than any other member of the Vanguard. He gave his life defending the last remnants of humanity. Couldn't we have honored his memory in a more meaningful way? There must be some sort of lore reason why that I'm missing.

    Thoughts, guardians?

    RIP Cayde-6

We Should Be Able to Turn in a Full Rank Up's Worth of Material in 1 Click

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 07:05 PM PST

I never knew how frustrating this was until I went to unload the 1000's of planetary materials that I had hoarded over the years. I do appreciate being able to turn in 10 instead of 1 or 5 but doesn't it make sense to be able to turn in a full rank up's amount in one click? If I'm sitting on a few thousand material I would love to be able to give the vendor 60-80 at a time, the amount seems to differ from planet to planet, and get my rank up package. Like I said, it won't bother me again because I can't think of the next time I'll need to turn in thousands of these things but it was a minor inconvenience today.

On the upside, I've never had a more spacious Consumables tab. It's lovely. One week, Guardians!

FYI: Today could be your last chance to play 1AU

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 03:49 PM PST

The Red War gets a lot of grief as a campaign, but I think most would agree that Homecoming, 1AU, and Chosen are pretty solid missions. 1AU, in particular, features a pretty cool location in The Almighty. So if you're looking for one last run-through to take down Destiny's Death Star, today's your last chance.

Perfect way to hand in expired Ramen coupon.

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 02:40 AM PST

We've had the expired Ramen Coupon for almost 2 years and it's being removed as they re introduce the time travelling stranger?!

Why can't we just have a fun secret quest. Something like where we hand the stranger an expired Ramen coupon and she teleports through time, redeems the coupon and hands you a spicy ramen shader and an emblem called the perfect-ly cooked paradox or something similar.

How freakin' dangerous are Titan Hammers?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 07:15 AM PST

So I just finished the Xol strike, and near the end I threw a hammer and it missed. Thing kept going man, went super far and I lost sight of it. Makes me think, how freaking dangerous is it if a Titan misses a hammer in lets say the EDZ, just yeets the thing towards a Thresher and misses. Just keeps going and going until a family at the Farm is having a picnic and a tree next to them just fucking EXPLODES.

What the hell man Sunbreaker Titans are dangerous for civilization.

A single small exotic change is all I want bungie

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 10:40 AM PST

Can Outbreak have rapid hit instead of outlaw? It would make more sense with its perk which can proc off of rapid hits to targets and it would feel nicer to use.

Not sure if this has been suggested before, but I have a suggestion for Bungie...

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 09:52 PM PST

We absolutely need a way to automatically use things like Finest Matterweave and Rainmaker. I have like 100 rainmakers and about 50 finest matterweaves. Most of the time I just forget to use them, but when I remember its annoying popping a f.m. and 30 seconds later having to pop another.

It is certainly a problem on consol, not sure how bad this is on pc.

Instead of making fun of the Engram System of Rahool compared to the Prismatic Recaster and the Umbral Decoder, just make him use the same system.

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 05:10 AM PST

Compared to the system used to decode Umbral Engrams, Rahool's legendary Engram decrypting feels half-assed and pointless. With Umbral Engrams I can either choose to draw one item from a large pool of loot per Engram for chance to get basically anything, or I can narrow down which loot I get in the Prismatic Recaster.

At Rahool, I can only decrypt a Prime Engram and draw from a large, bloated loot pool for a slight chance to get a high power piece of gear with rolls I might not even like. The RNG involved at Rahool is stupidly high, it makes chasing for a piece of specific gear, like the Future War Cult Robes, with stats I want feel impossible. I simply don't have the legendary shards, what the hell is this?

Drifter even makes fun of this is in the Umbral Decoder dialogue, "It's like Rahool, but better!", yes, yes it is, change Rahool to use that same system. Or at least let me decide between armour or weapons.

While leveling in Europa, make sure you save the gear from the campaign until you've completed the campaign

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 06:23 AM PST

In Shadowkeep we earned Dreambane armor throughout the campaign. The full set was required to be equipped for entrance into the final mission. So if you were like me you had to farm a piece before completing the campaign

Just a good measure to store away any Europa gear until you've completed the mission. Might not be a requirement, but it could be!
