Now that cabal are the least encountered race, Skyburner's oath has gone from hilariously bad to depressingly bad.

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 01:53 PM PST

There are no cabal raids, no story missions focusing on them, and above all else no reason why "passing through phalanx shields" and "does slightly more damage to cabal" needs to be an exotic perk.

This gun has been the laughingstock of exotics for so long no one even bothers to compare it, any new exotic is automatically better (but to be fair new exotics are pretty much all bangers, nice job with eyes on tomorrow)

DO NOT just make more cabal content and say it justifies skyburner's oath, or used planned content as an excuse. Even with cabal the gun sucks beans.

INSTEAD: rework the weapon, if you have to remove it to do so and then give it back that is O.K., if you need to delete this mistake from our collections and make a new quest that is O.K. But by the traveler DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS STUPID GUN!!!!!

As of now: "grenade launcher mode" is already harder to aim so giving less damage than "precision mode" is just insulting, and forces players into just holding down aim. Even in "precision mode" this gun is worse than legendary scout rifles in PVE, which by the way is not the best archetype to begin with

In PVP there is ONE build that uses it, and it also requires a godroll militia's birthright, which is sunset anyway, so it's strictly crucible since gambit does not favor bad Pve weapons.

    THE BEST POSSIBLE FIXES:

    • change "anti phalanx sheild" to anti barrier, if it can shoot through those it should be able to do more.
    • give the damage buff to "everything BUT cabal", why would a cabal weapon do more damage to cabal anyway? also slightly nudge the damage buff to keep the weapon in-line with other exotic primary weapons.
    • bump the magazine up, this gun shoots so fast that Players spend more time reloading than shooting (exaggeration but it is annoying to be constantly topping off the gun)

TLDR: as funny as "skyburner's bad haha" is this has gone on for to long.

Deep Stone Crypt Raid Sparrow Map

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 06:21 PM PST

After spending way too much time lost in the sparrow encounter I've put together a map for other directionally challenged guardians. I know other people have already posted maps which are easier to read and far more usable (thanks u/supaflash) so I'm not really sure why I felt the need to spend hours making a bad hand drawn map marked up in MS Paint 3D... but I did it anyway.

To try to keep some semblance of scale I used the pikes at the start to measure distances and the compass on Mida Multi Tool to get direction bearings. (E.g. take three pikes out and park them at various points on the map then triangulate position using a sniper rifle to mark the distances.)

I marked the path I take to avoid mines but obviously with the cheese you can go pretty much any way you like.

    Anyway, here's the map: https://imgur.com/a/S6dNIVY

I always thought people's horror stories about LFG-raids were exaggerations, but after sherpaing 30 clears, I finally ran into "the group" you all talk about that ruins your entire LFG experience.. and boy, I'm sorry I ever doubted you.

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 08:44 PM PST

    https://raid.report/pc/4611686018467189624

I should start this out by saying I work with the developmentally disabled and folks suffering from various forms of dementia. I don't say that to humble brag, only to say that my level of patience is likely higher than the average persons. I actually do the raids to test this patience, and to try and grow as a person.. I know, this is really coming off as a humble brag, but I used to have anger issues and social anxiety, and doing this stuff really helps.

That said I just spent the last 4 hours helping someone trying to sherpa 4 people through the raid, and it was truly something.

I wasn't even sherpaing, I often join when someone else is teaching, when they post "LF2M willing to teach" so that if they do struggle, I can step in and between me and the sherpa we can usually 2-man clutch while the other 4 learn the mechanics. It usually works well. But not this time.

It started off with racial slurs and quickly went downhill from there. Kids will be kids is a saying, and I try not to judge, but I asked them politely not to go there and they obliged. After that I didn't think anything of it, and we began the entrance of the raid. At this point one of the new people started purposefully dying from frostbite, which quickly triggered the other 3 new people. It took us an hour to sparrow to the actual 1st encounter.

I uphold that I'm absolutely fine with people not knowing what to do, if I didn't think that I shouldn't be joining teaching raids. But these people were making fun of the guy teaching the raid, and then calling him sensitive when he tried to defend himself. They wiped immediately and repeatedly and then yelled at him for not telling them what to do, at which point I stepped in and sent them my raid guide I made for new folks. They then starting making fun of me for having no life. Which is fine, being the butt of people's jokes is not new to me, as I've said I have thick skin. So, honestly that was perfect, they could make fun of me to dispel their excess emotion, the teacher wouldn't be stressed, and the raid would go on.

This piling on of emotional immaturity came to a precipice when the raid guide who at this point was swapping rolls at Atraks, going both space and earth, doing more than he would need to even if he was doing a 3-man, forgot to send down an extra pod for the final damage phase leaving us with only 5 people to do it.. We beat the encounter, but multiple of the new people at this point started calling him out despite the fact that this guy and I did literally 75% of the damage to Atraks while swapping roles between us. They all talked over the entire space-walk talking shit to the guy, ruining that experience, but he was a champ about it, and continued showing them where the chests were and all the tablets.

He starts teaching the next encounter, the easy encounter before the final Taniks boss fight, and they purposeful start interrupting him, at which point he DMs me "I can't believe this", to which I respond "I know, but you're doing great and we're really close. I don't think they understand just how toxic they are being". We get through the encounter very fast, but wipe. We get it on our second run, but the raid guide dies, once again because he's swapping positions and helping these new folks out. They get the final dunks, and they all refuse to res him. I don't have a token as I've already had to use it to get them up. Of course, they then start making fun of him and piling on.

We get to the final boss encounter and two of them decide they want to start the encounter immediately before being told what to do, the other two turn off their mics and don't turn them back on for the rest of the encounter. They force the sherpa to teach them, refusing also to communicate in chat, only responding by nodding yes or no to him by shaking their characters head, all while the other two are purposefully starting the encounter multiple times. We get through a few runs, and just before we get the final clear, two of them rage quit and leave.. leaving this guy who spent all this time trying to get a sherpa clear high and dry. The other two leave immediately, and him and I find a few replacements, and get it done 10 minutes later.

EDIT: thank you for the hugs, I literally had a panic attack from this experience. Doing another carry run now to get that horrible experience behind me.

EDIT 2: Just sherpaed 2 more through, and one of them got EoT. So happy to end tonights carries on a positive note.

    Strikes need an update.

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 05:51 AM PST

Strikes right now after you do three of them there's no reason to do them in a week.

As a core activity this is problematic and there are many ways to improve strikes for example.

    • Add a rank system like crucible and gambit so strikes are rewarding to keep doing.
    • Bring back strike specific armor to create motivation to farm strikes.
    • Create new nightfall weapons for the 4 strikes without them.
    • Update old nightfall weapons to be usable with sunsetting active starting with the oldest ones.
    • Bring back unique nightfall emblems for the 3 strikes without them.
    • Create new strike weapons hell even a reskin of blues or greens would be good for real some greens look really good compared to legendaries

3rd Mida weapon concept. The Mida Mega-tool (crappy photoshop warning)

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 08:40 AM PST

Behold! The Mega-Tool in all its glory!

Exotic LMG that has the usual Mida gubbins, radar while ADS, faster movement and mida synergy. I thought to make it more unique it could be a 120rpm LMG like xenophage but it fires bullets rather than explosions so it could crit (less damage than xeno on a regular shot and maybe slightly more damage on a crit, wouldn't wan't to make xenophage invalid)

I've been really liking the buffed mida Mini-Tool with kill clip but I don't particularly like how to get the most out of it I need to run it with a scout rifle, I have nothing against running double primary strikes and crucible but in end game content it doesn't cut it.

In comes the Mida Mega-Tool, an exotic LMG that allows you to synergise the Mini-Tool without needing to run double primary.

    Thoughts?

Alright, I need to know - Bungie, where are your resources going? How come it's impossible for you to make new maps now?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 03:06 PM PST

We have 0 new PVP maps, 0 new Gambit maps, one new strike, and one re-purposed strike (Omnigul 2.0).

Where are your resources going? Can you please apply more to THIS game?

    Thanks.

I don't care what happens during this year's Dawning. I just want Snowballs back in strikes.

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 10:43 AM PST

That and regular patrol locations. Year 1's Dawning was the best imo for that reason. Nowadays they're just in like 2 spots in the Tower.

Champions no longer feel interesting or challenging mostly just annoying and restrictive.

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 12:27 PM PST

I'm sure a few of you think they're great but more and more people seem to have this sentiment that they're mostly just annoying. I love when this game is challenging but having champions now be sprinkled throughout the game feels like I either have to be over leveled or someone has to man up and change what they want to run to something that can make the champion less annoying. In the ordeals I dont mind this it can even be fun to try and come up with a good loadout. But being completely helpless if I dont have the correct mod on in some cases makes moving forward a none option. Not to mention the frustrating combination of sunsetting crushing the loot pool, the artifact restrictive mod options, and champions genuinely being jerks with teleporting or buggy invulnerability.

They're challenging but for the wrong reasons and the newness has long faded please bungie retire this loop im not sure i can abide you undoing everything i like to play with and as to make your strike more difficult

We encountered a major bug in between the 3rd and 4th encounter of Deep Stone Crypt while attempting our flawless. Wanted to bring it to the attention of anyone attempting flawless that this may happen to so you know how to correct.

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 01:15 PM PST

If you switch gear on your character while the space station is crashing into Europa right before you guardian ends up in the weakened 3rd person state (like from the original Red War campaign where you first lose your Light) then your Guardian ends up stuck in this 3rd person animation and cannot shoot their weapons.

This happened to a member of our fireteam while we were attempting flawless and we thought it was going to ruin our run.

Turns out there's a way to correct this. If you're bugged in this state, just wait until you have your super and then use your super. It should force you out of the 3rd person state and allow you to use your weapons again. Luckily we were able to correct it and actually go on to complete the flawless during that run.

Wanted to make sure that if this happened to anyone they knew how to correct it.

    Happy raiding and good luck.

PS - For video proof / a video of what this looks like, my clan member is currently cutting a video from their perspective and I will post it once it's uploaded.

Can Warlocks get an actual hood for a helmet option some time?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 07:53 AM PST

The fact that the space wizards, who's helmets are literally called hoods, don't have a hood available is absurd.

It'd fit so well, and in fact, there was even art of a Warlock wearing a hood in one of the Eramis cutscenes in the campaign.

Afking in strikes should get you suspended from the playlist

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 08:36 AM PST

This is the fifth week in a row where I've played each strike with AT LEAST one afker in each.

This is a toxic, lazy mindset that's prevalent nowadays and I really don't see why people should be carried because they cannot be bothered to play the game properly.

The idea of Raid Exclusive perks is wonderful.

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 04:47 AM PST

I know this is probably very obvious, but I just wanna get my thoughts about it out there.

Remember how there were so many great guns in Destiny 2, that whatever drops there could be in raids it usually just fell useless, because there was almost always a better alternative, but making raid weapons go with their own perks which you can't get anywhere else is such a fantastic idea and finally makes raid weapons worth grinding for, literally because you can never get something like that anywhere else in the game.

This change really makes me motivated to try out new raid and I'm really glad that Bungie decided to do that.

if Destiny is going the MMO route then clans need to have more to do

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 05:20 AM PST

As it currently stands what clans can do is play together , get some engrams with eh loot in them and level up your clan banner for ok perks .

D2 doesnt have: a clan hall , anything worthwhile to unlock by working together towards it and nothing your clan that can show off outside of worlds firsts or day 1 clears .

clans have been this lackluster since d2 launch and there needs to be some update to them.

Leviathans Breath draw time is so slow that it is unable to damage stunned champions at higher levels. Please adjust the catalyst to reduce draw time slowly.

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 12:01 PM PST

Edit to Title: slightly, not slowly

If you are able to stun a champion, you cannot swap to leviathan and draw before they start going again.

For a heavy weapon, it really does not have a lot of uses. Reducing that draw time diesnt seem to break the bank.

Archers tempo perhaps on the catalyst? Doesnt help the initial shot, but still.

Maybe allow it to stun all champions and leave it? Kind of like a trade off. Mediocre damage (not DPS), and poor draw time for a universal stunner.

Update on my last post - Mida Multi Tool’s Catalyst reportedly isn’t dropping for anyone since Beyond Light. Bungie has not yet acknowledged this, here’s hoping they see it soon.

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 05:47 PM PST

I checked Twitter, Reddit posts, and bungie.net bug report forums. They all say the same thing, nobody has acquired Mida's catalyst since the expansion dropped. Myself included.

As of Shadowkeep, the Mida catalyst was changed to drop with variable percents between fabled and mythic, and have a 100% drop chance when you win a match while at Legend rank (5500). I have personally won 4 games of comp while at max rank, even listening to a suggestion from my last post saying I should try to win on another character. I have done exactly that, and that hasn't worked either.

There seems to be no remedies, no solutions, this is an rather obnoxious glitch and bungie cannot patch it unless they realize it is a problem to begin with.

Yes, I am aware the Mida Catalyst itself is terrible. I do not care, I personally want it for collection's purposes.

It sucks working so hard to reach 5500 for the first time, and not receive your reward due to a seldom seen bug. When bungie eventually patches this, I hope they retroactively give accounts that have won a match while at 5500 the catalyst should they not already own it, as glory decays beyond mythic each week if you do not play, so while us comp players wait for this to be fixed, we must play comp 3 times a week as a chore.

To everyone downvoting due to someone in the comments saying they have already acknowledged this - They have acknowledged and fixed a bug regarding Mida Catalyst acquisition in Season of Arrivals. This is a separate, new issue. This shit is why I hate reddit.

    Class Specific Titles

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 05:42 PM PST

Can we plz get them? As if its a mastery of the class! There would be different tiers like a ranking system.

    (Warlocks)

Vampire, Phoenix , Void master, Celestial, Eye of the storm,

(Hunters) Wanted, Sheriff, Outlaw, Monk, Assassin,

(Titans) Juggernaut, Wall, Yeti, Defender, One punch man,

These are just a few exmaples to be improved up. The titles should be earned from both pve and pvp. No gambit plz.. As you look at your characters tab it asks that you get specific kills as a certain class from grenades or melees. However It should be revamped and tied to that.
