I really wish destiny 2 never went f2p

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 10:24 AM PST

I feel like they are focusing on the non f2p aspects of the game like empire strikes a lot, while leaving f2p aspects of the game in the dust like gambit or crucible.

Edit: I feel like a free trial would make more sense than ftp

Bungie, make a pve "horde mode" on Crucible maps, I don't even care if it has loot really, I just want to see how long I can survive just mindlessly killing things.

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 12:08 PM PST

We've already seen that yoy can add pve enemies to Crucible maps, like you did with the D1 and the new subclass missions, and I think we had a mission or two with pve enemies on bannerfall in D2.

Let us do it via the private matches menu and pick the race of enemies we're going to fight and on what map, hell go even further and let us choose our own modifiers. Put the fun back into the players hands by giving them a bit more control.

You COULD also make it a legit game mode that has loot tied to it, but I'm sure there would have to be some oob balancing and cheese balancing separately for it....

Either way, the TL;DR: Give us a horde mode on Crucible maps, the assets are already all there.

Drop rates for exotic ornaments, sparrows and ships should be higher

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 04:23 AM PST

I've gone through so many eververse engrams this season already and I feel like the drop rate for exotic cosmetic stuff is abysmally low. And when I look at all the cool looking weapon ornaments and sparrows/ships that are still out there to obtain, it's a little disappointing. I think people would enjoy seeing an eververse engram drop more if they knew they had a decent chance at getting something cool from it instead of just some blue ghost projections that I never end up using anyway.

    GlassWay GrandMaster Walkthrough (In Depth)

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 04:17 PM PST

    GlassWay GrandMaster Walkthrough (In Depth)

This is not the only way to complete the GrandMaster, but here's what I found to be simple for any fireteam. So let's start :) Full Vid Breakdown here

    Nightfall Ordeal - GlassWay Modifiers

    • Arach-No - When defeated, Fallen Vandals spawn a web mine under feet
    • Champions: Overload - This mode contains Overload Champions, which cannot be stopped without an Overload mod.
    • Champions: Barrier - This mode contains Barrier Champions, which cannot be stopped without an Anti-Barrier mod.
    • Chaff - Radar is disabled.
    • GrandMaster Modifiers - Contest, Join In Progress Disabled, Champions:Mob, Locked Loadout, Match Game, Extra Shields.
    • Match Game - Enemy shields are highly resistant to all unmatched elemental damage.
    • Equipment Locked - You will not be able to change your equipment after this activity starts.
    • Extinguish - If your fireteam falls in a Restricted Zone, everyone is returned to orbit.
    • Limited Revives - Limited fireteam revives, Gain additional revives by defeating Champions (20 Max).
    • Champions: MOB - This mode contains additional Champions.
    • Belmon's Algorithm - Incoming Void and Aerial damage increased (don't jump lol)

    Suggestions for Team Synergies

Team A: Main Goal, Orb chain for supers and resistance.

    • Titan Void (Code of the Commander) + Ursa Furiosa (Exotic Gauntlets), High Intellect 100 if possible
    • Warlock Solar (Attunement of Grace) + Phoenix Protocol (Exotic Chest Piece), High Intellect 100 if possible
    • Warlock Solar (Attunement of Grace) + Phoenix Protocol (Exotic Chest Piece), High Intellect 100 if possible

Team B: Main Goal, survivability in each room, orb chain. Finished first try with this one

    • Hunter (Way of the Pathfinder) + Assassin Cowl (video breakdown here) I'd recommend a Mobility/Discpline if possible
    • Titan Void (Code of the Commander) + Ursa Furiosa (Exotic Gauntlets), High Intellect 100 if possible
    • Warlock Solar (Attunement of Grace) + Phoenix Protocol (Exotic Chest Piece), High Intellect 100 if possible

Team C: Main Goal, Same as B but with two Titans.

    • Titan Void (Code of the Commander) + Ursa Furiosa (Exotic Gauntlets), High Intellect 100 if possible
    • Titan Void (Code of the Commander) + Ursa Furiosa (Exotic Gauntlets), High Intellect 100 if possible
    • Hunter (Way of the Pathfinder) + Assassin Cowl (video breakdown [here](LINK_HERE)) I'd recommend a Mobility/Discipline build if possible

Team D: A very strong and aggressive team composition

    • Warlock Solar (Attunement of Grace) + Phoenix Protocol (Exotic Chest Piece), High Intellect 100 if possible
    • Titan Void (Code of the Commander) + Ursa Furiosa (Exotic Gauntlets), High Intellect 100 if possible
    • Titan Void (Code of the Commander) + Ursa Furiosa (Exotic Gauntlets), High Intellect 100 if possible

    Team E: Freezing Lovers

    • Warlock (Shadebinder)(Verity Brow or Eye of Another World) Duskfield Grenades, Whisper of Hedrons, Whisper of Durance, Whisper of Fissures, Whisper of Shards
    • Titan Void (Code of the Commander) + Ursa Furiosa (Exotic Gauntlets), High Intellect 100 if possible
    • Warlock Solar (Attunement of Grace) + Phoenix Protocol (Exotic Chest Piece), High Intellect 100 if possible

Team F: Same as Freezing Lovers but substitute Hunter

    • Hunter (Revenant)(Assassin Cowl) Whisper of Hedrons, Whisper of Durance
    • Titan Void (Code of the commander) + Ursa Furiosa (Exotic Gauntlets), High Intellect 100 if possible
    • Warlock Solar (Attunement of Grace) + Phoenix Protocol (Exotic Chest Piece), High Intellect 100 if possible

Now, there are plenty of team synergies that can work, especially with players who are experienced. It doesn't have to be any of these subclasses, these are just the combinations I found most effective.

    Suggestions on Weapons

    Exotics

    • Anarchy would be top priority for this (simple 2 shots on target then switch). I have a guide if needed on how to properly use Anarchy here

    • Xenophage for long range and clearing out crowds of Fallen Vandals and Dregs (only one recommended honestly; 2 anarchy, 1 Xeno is what I normally recommend)

    Legendaries

I would highly recommend having a synergy of someone covering each Champion mod (2 on Overload and 1 on Barrier). I would say there are more Overloads than Barriers - 12 Barriers, 18 Overloads

    • Pulse rifles (Anti-Barrier Mod) Any slot
    • Scout Rifles (Overload Mod) Explosive Payload if possible
    • Sniper rifles (Vorpal and Major Spec highly recommended)
    • Grenade Launchers (Blinding Grenades)
    • Arc and Solar Shields

    Abilities and Mods

    • Solar Grenades (Thermal Overload)> Artifact Unlock + Surge Eater (recharges your grenade whenever you or a fireteam disrupts a champion)
    • Spoils of War (Heavy ammo mod that spawns heavy for you and your fireteam by defeating a champion with a Finisher) - would be smart to use on Titan or Hunter, so Warlocks can use the grenade combo
    • Void Resistance and Concussive Dampener (chest Mod) X2
    • Concussive Dampener + Melee Resistance or Sniper Damage Resistance (if having issues with vandal snipers)
    • Warmind build (breakdown of mods here) or Charged With Light build (breakdown of mods here) possibly. I normally run a high energy fire build.
    • Dynamo if possible to squeeze into build (on helmets)
    • Protective light Mod if possible. Resilience at 70(7) will survive snipers

    Tips for Strike

    First Area

1 Overload Captain, 3 Marauders, 4 Vandal snipers, 8 Shanks

    Second Area

You can use the ledge leading into it or the first rock, enemies will push you (Few Marauders, Dregs, 1 Overload Captain. If you push too far forward, Barrier Servitor will drop.

    Third Area

Do not push up too much, use right side of room where the first rock is. Take care of 3 Vandal snipers, then focus on Captain Technocrat and Overload Captain. Once cleared then move up to work on next set of enemies, a few Dregs, Vandals and Barrier Servitor.

    Fourth Areaa

I like to go to the left side of the room especially if you have an Ursa Titan on your team. Same thing as third area, do not push up. Clear Captain Technocrat, Vandal snipers, Shanks and Overload Captain, then move up for next set of enemies and Barrier Servitor.

    Next Area

    2 Dregs and Vandals

    Fifth Area

Jumping area, proceed cautiously. Kill Dregs and then move up to get Vandal snipers to spawn (kill first) then go for Champions. Make sure to keep your head on a swivel for snipers - video shows example

Platform - Enemies will spawn at each percentage

    • 16% - 7 small Shanks, one heavy Shank (LEFT SIDE)
    • 26% - 7 small Shank, one heavy Shank (RIGHT SIDE)
    • 36% - 2 Vandal snipers, 7 Shanks (LEFT SIDE)
    • 56% - 2 Vandal snipers , 7 Shanks (RIGHT SIDE)
    • 76% - 4 exploding Shanks, 4 Shanks, 2 resilient Shanks (total for both sides)
    • 86% to completion - 4 exploding Shanks, 4 Shanks, 2 resilient Shanks (total for both sides)

When complete, kill small enemies in front and then work on Champion. In Video, I will describe a banner, once you pass it, Vandal snipers and Barrier Servitor come down. Try to get rid of heavy Shank and previous enemies before going pass the banner. 2 Vandal snipers spawn on top left and top right when you have passed the banner.

    Boss Room breakdown

Pretty straightforward. I will go through the full sequence here:

    • Enter room, 2 Dregs on left and right and Overload Captain in mid. Use left area of room, try to not get aggressive or stand in same place for too long. MAKE SURE THERE IS A LOOKOUT GUARDIAN

    • Bosses spawn in. A few Hobgoblins and 2 Overload Minotaurs (one might go left, which is why having a lookout is very crucial). Always keep head on a swivel

    • Small Hydra boss will come to you (if you push or damage either boss), plus another two Overload Minotaurs will spawn in, so be ready to take them down.

    • Once Minotaurs and Bosses are pushed, 4 Barrier Hobgoblins will be spawn in. Use them to make heavy ammo if running Spoils of War mod.

    • Once Hobgoblins are down Bosses spawn back in, 2 Wyverns and a few Hobgoblins. Kill Wyverns as soon as possible. If you absolutely have to damage small Hydra boss, do it, just remember, doing so will spawn 2 more Wyverns in.

    • After Wyvern Phase, kill the small enemies and 4 Barrier Hobgoblin. It's smart to keep an aggro for the big boss on the far left side while two guardians work on the champions together. I was told if you kill the boss and don't kill the last barriers, you still obtain Platinum, I will test this theory out and give an update

When all Champions are down, go FOR THE KILL and Enjoy the DOUBLE LOOT X DOUBLE LOOT :)

GGs - Do not stress about the 30 minute timer, work as a group and believe in yourself. Patience

I still play everyday, but I don’t know why anymore...

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 07:20 PM PST

I'm mainly a solo player, and I love the feel and the mechanics of this game. It really is one of the best FPS games over the last decade. Destiny 2 has been a trying time throughout all the failures and fixes, but I have never given up hope. I do feel like a lot of the problems stemmed after it went cross-platform, but that could be wrong... Either way, the game now has really plateaued for me. I find myself mindlessly completing bounties with no purpose and no real reward (looking at you, brightdust). The new activities are briefly entertaining, but not fulfilling, and the loot pool has been seriously downgraded. Not to mention the new subclass is broke AF. I also refuse to delete my god rolls from over the last few years, and now my vault is hovering around 495. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?! I want to play, and am psyched for VOG, but this game needs help. We need fixes and need answers. This community is absolutely amazing, and the outcry's need to be heard, Bungie.

Give me a reason to play this game for a decade.

Who at bungie balanced the glacier grenade? Why is it possible to kill a ward with a fucking ability? Some supers can't even take down the titan in his bubble, but this grenade can, how the fuck is that acceptable bungie? Stuff like this is what makes people believe that you don't care about crucible.

You get booted for being /dead/ in a Grandmaster due to inactivity if there are no revives.. coooool

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 10:38 PM PST

TL;DR: Don't die in the boss room, you'll get booted for inactivity if it takes too long for your teammates to finish the encounter. (But only sometimes.. because cheeseforever's fireteam member didn't in their video. cooooool)

EDIT: I guess you have to go in your menus (unhelpful for your fireteam, but ok) to re-trigger the afk timer. Bungie, plz. Interacting with your camera angle and switching to your fireteam's bodies should count as movement.

    ---

My clanmates and I just completed the grandmaster Glassway and in the boss fight were at the final phase, and one of our fireteam members died. We were past the 30 min mark, so no revives. They then got booted for inactivity after dying while we were finishing up the last phase. Because dead ghosts can't move, there wasn't activity in terms of "movement" obviously despite him making callouts from his camera angle on his ghost :(. He was moving his camera, switching to our field of view too to watch our backs. So he was active.

We ended up beating it, but the 3rd member who got booted due to not being able to do anything while dead couldn't join back up due to locked fireteams.. and clearly didn't get the triumph for their hard work :////

I posted on Bungie Forums to see if they'll do anything to reward the guy his triumph.. but my guess is nothing will come out of it apart from "get good, don't die"... but anything else anyone can suggest we do to try to get our 3rd their triumph? We're going to re-run it tomorrow to get it again but dammmmn, it felt bad man finishing it after he got booted.

Banshee's rotating Mod should be a Warmind Cell/Charged With Light mod every day

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 11:49 AM PST

Or at least with far more frequency than they are coming up right now.

Currently, anyone who happened to not be playing during the past few seasons is going to be missing a LOT of these, and without a seasonal method to get them, Banshee is our one and only hope.

    The Glassway Nightfall is...exceedingly difficult

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 08:56 PM PST

I'm only 4 levels under recommended light to run the master difficulty and I've never had this much trouble trying to complete a nightfall. The end encounter is just insane. So many champs on top of the wyverns, it's just overkill. Every fire team I've gone in with today has dropped out after a few attempts. Extra shitty cause I really want those double rewards (for the love of the traveler give me golf balls). I can't be the only one struggling this much right?

    2 Man No Guns Atraks-1

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 12:46 PM PST

    2 Man No Guns Atraks-1

So, we knocked out 2 Man No Guns Atraks within 50 attempts or so and wanted to share it here. It's actually crazy how little room for error this low man offers, with one mistake often leading to a wipe and in a 16 minute fight - that's pretty rough.

    What qualifies as "No Guns"?

Abilities only. No blocking with swords to survive stomps or to get anywhere, no shooting guns at all. We only used our fists, grenades and supers.

"How do you deal enough damage to Atraks?"

Well, we use Combination Blow x3 and Synthocep Titan punches and a buffed Thundercrash in order to do more than 25% of his health each phase.

"How do you handle Atraks Replications?"

You use Skip Grenades to solo cleanse and cleanse the other player. For some reason, these are the only grenades that are able to knock replication off yourself. Shinobi's Vow and Powerful friends makes it where you cannot knock replication off at ALL with these grenades, for some reason.

On the third floor, Argie (the Hunter) had to play soccer and push one of the replications into a cleanse door as he knocked her replication off with a grenade. Missing the solo cleanse led to a wipe 90% of the time.

Happy to answer any questions, but this was such a fun low man to do. Hope y'all like it :)

Lost sectors can't replace it because you must restart them every time and they don't have ammo, access to the vault and super power reloading. It was very useful location with tons of recources spent to upgrade it. Give us its substitute. With all progress kept, of course. Thanks.

For those KinderGuardians struggling with Boss Stomps and Wyvern cannonballs, use this trick

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 02:23 PM PST

Most players that have been around for a while know how to counter being thrown into a damn wall for a uncontrollable slam of death, but since BL and the introductions of wyverns I've noticed it happening a lot more.

The simple way to counter any slam mechanic or throw mechanic (including being hit with a cabal shield) is to melee the enemy at the exact moment the enemy slams or makes contact. Doing this will "magnetize" you to the enemy and the slam throw cancels out but you still take damage. Timing can be hard with wyverns, but it's super simple once you get it down.

    Optimized Bounties For 2020/12/30

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 09:49 AM PST

Deer trivia: After being introduced to Europe, wild populations of Sika deer have begun threatening existing populations of Red Deer. Not through territorial violence or starving of resources, but boning; Sika and Red Deer are genetically similar enough that they can cross-breed, and this can lead to the populations of 'true' red deer decreasing over time.

Step 1 – Figure out what the deer equivalent of "mudbloods" is.

Step 2 - Pick up the following Dailies. Weeklies can be found here. Remember, you can use the app!

    Tower Bounties:

    • Abuela Daily – Big Finish – 5 Finisher Kills
    • Abuela Daily – Guiding Light – Gather 20 Orbs of Light
    • Abuela Daily – Super Festive – 50 Super Kills
    • Zavala Daily – Horseshoes and Hand Grenades – 20 Grenade Kills
    • Zavala Daily – From Downtown – 2 Super Multikills
    • Zavala Daily – Controlled Destruction – 10 Grenade Launcher Kills in Strikes
    • Zavala Daily – Show Them The Light – 5 Super Kills in Strikes
    • Shaxx Daily – Burn Bright – Cast 2 Supers in Crucible
    • Shaxx Daily – Lightbearer – 3 Ability Kills in Crucible
    • Shaxx Daily – Power Up – Collect 1 Heavy Ammo in Crucible
    • Shaxx Daily – In the Zone – Capture 3 Zones in Control
    • Banshee Dailies – Auto Rifle, Sniper Rifle, Heavy Grenade Launcher, Void Weapon Calibration
    • Drifter Daily – Line 'em Up – As a Fireteam, Kill 5 Guardians in Gambit
    • Drifter Daily – Lest It Stare Back – 15 Void Ability Kills in Gambit
    • Drifter Daily – Not Your Mama's Combat Drill – Kill 50 Enemies in Gambit
    • Drifter Daily – Envoy It While It Lasts – Kill 2 Primeval Envoys in Gambit

    Planetaries:

    • Crow – Winnowing by Sidearm, Sniper Rifle, Power Weapon, Supers

    • Eris Morn – Moonstreak – Kill 50 Enemies Without Dying on the Moon
    • Eris Morn – From Whence They Came – Kill 25 Hive in the Hellmouth
    • Eris Morn – Double Draw – 15 Hand Cannon Rapid Kills
    • Devrim Kay – Deadeye – 10 Precision Kills in the EDZ

    • Shaw Han – Working Remotely – Complete 1 Patrol in the Cosmodrome
    • Shaw Han – Eventful Moments – Complete 2 Public Events in the Cosmodrome
    • Failsafe – War Machine – 3 Power Weapon Multikills on Nessus
    • Failsafe – Friend or Foe – Kill 30 Fallen on Nessus
    • Failsafe – Sol Sure – 30 Solar Kills on Nessus

Step 3 - Follow These Steps:

    1. Fly to the Tangled Shore and grab Crow's bounties.
    2. Fly to Nessus, grab Failsafe's bounties, then run the Exodus Down Strike. Use a Solar AR or Sidearm, Sniper Rifle, and Heavy GL. (15 minutes)
    3. Play one match of Mayhem and one match of Control. (20 minutes)
    4. Play one to two matches of Gambit. (10-20 minutes)
    5. Fly to the EDZ, grab Devrim's bounties, then clear any Cabal Lost Sector with an Arc weapon that's good for precision kills. (5 minutes)
    6. Fly to the Cosmodrome, grab Shaw's bounties, then clear two Public Events, along with a Patrol. Ideally you'll clear a PE in Skywatch and/or the Mothyards, since those are Hive ones, but if you need to you can just sweep random hive in Skywatch. (15 minutes)
    7. Fly TO THE MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON, grab Eris's bounties, then clear two Public Events. Ideally one in the Hellmouth, but if that's not an option you can just sweep hive there in between/after the Public Events. (15 minutes)

    Total Bounties Cleared: 37 Dailies

    Total Time: 80-90 minutes

    Bounties Per Minute: .43

Altar of Sorrows bosses don't rotate daily.
No they are not supposed to rotate weekly.
No it hasn't changed since the release of Beyond Light.
Yes I have checked daily/weekly, among many others.
Yes the weapons are sunset but it locks you out of the Harbinger title.

Bungie hasn't even acknowledged the issue.

Dear Bungie: Please let us preview Shaders on Ornaments.

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 07:59 AM PST

I don't even understand why this wasn't implemented with the introduction of ornaments. I mean, they are essentially pieces of armor, and shaders affect them the same way they do normal armor with a power level. So why can we preview one, and not the other?

If I'm going to spend my precious BD, or worse, real money on an ornament, I would like to know ahead of time whether my favorite shader looks crappy on it or not. Obviously most people are going to apply shaders to whatever they are using, so let us have the option to at least make informed decisions.

Right now you just have to hope for the best when buying ornaments if you don't like the default look. We all know how finicky shaders are on different things. Bungo pls.

Dear Bungie: If you want to keep Sunsetting a thing, I recommend you remove or reign back RNG on Armor at least.

Bungie is intent on making Destiny 2 more like an MMORPG, which is perfectly fine in my book, they can do that if they want.

    However

Bungie, if you want to have sunsetting be a thing, especially at a rate not dissimilar to what other MMORPGs like Final Fantasy XIV does (Sunsetting as in gear becoming not viable for endgame content), you have to consider how your base game systems correlate to the nature of Sunsetting.

The reason Sunsetting in games like FFXIV, WoW.etc work, and people don't complain is

    1. Loot from Activities is more or less locked in and set in regards to stats and uses
    2. Loot in general is more or less a stat stick, no unique traits, and stuff, and in the case of gear on the player having unique traits, it's only for a specific activity or it's a weapon like FFXIV's Relic Weapons where the player gets to manipulate and control what sub-stats it comes with.
    3. They don't have to contend with nearly as much RNG due to 1 and 2 combined making it so when they get an item drop, they know what they are getting 100% of the time. Add on to that FFXIV having a Raid Token system whereby completing the raids, you get guaranteed loot of your choosing.

A key thing here is the lack of RNG outside of getting the loot to drop for your player in the first place.

Destiny's loot, on the other hand, is full of RNG.

    For Weapons you

    • Have to get the weapon to drop
    • Hope it has the right traits you wanted
    • Hope it has the right barrel/sight perks you wanted
    • Hope it has the right mag/ammo perks you wanted
    • Hope it has the right masterwork stat you wanted

    For Armor you

    • Have to get the armor piece to drop
    • Hope it comes with a high total stat package
    • Hope it comes with a decent per-stat allocation

While the former does on the surface have more RNG, the latter does in fact have way more and is arguably worse off due to sunsetting due to the investment of materials for master working it, as you have to hope it gets the right stat allocation range per stat across 6 stats.

But the main problem here is that you are forcing a system, sunsetting, on a game where grinding for god rolls, Min-max armor stats is a key factor.

The reason Borderlands can get away with sunsetting is due to it being relatively easy to farm for new loot at higher levels and even with its RNG per weapon in things like the barrels and sights. etc, the weapons generally perform relatively the same per roll, unlike Destiny where two rolls of a weapon can perform vastly differently depending on the rolls. And also, the sunsetting not really being sunsetting, just "Oh there's a new level cap, need to farm for a more powerful version of my legendary".etc

So, outside of "Remove Sunsetting" or "Only Sunset very specific weapons", how can we fix it (Not saying those two aren't options, but saying they are unlikely at the present moment).

Well, calling back to the Final Fantasy XIV/WoW Comparison, let's knock out a major sore point with Sunsetting, the Armor.

Why not make it so Armor (List of options here)

    • Is more constrained, and fixed in regards to its stat packages, it would let players target a grind for an armor piece, obtain it, then masterwork it right afterward if they have the materials, with that you've cut out a large amount of the RNG of Armor, and therefore the clash of Sunsetting damaging investment in regards to armor as players generally get armor pieces more regularly, but farm for the right stat packages.
    • Stats, along with power level can be infused into a piece of armor
    • With Transmog coming in Season 14, why not make Armor (outside of exotics) just a base thing all players have that grows in rarity as they increase the power of the armor with the new Season's cap? The Stats would come from "Armor Stat" drops that come from the activities that they infuse into the Base-Armor, and the looks of the armor would be defined by the player via Transmog.

Those are just a few ideas.

Finding ways to solve the weapon end of the problem however without outright reverting to D2 Y1, or doing one of the two things related to sunsetting from earlier is a bit more of an issue, as weapons inherently have more stakes/personality to them than armor as you actually interact and use the weapons rather than wear/transmog them.
