    Posted: 21 Dec 2020 06:31 AM PST

    Hello Guardians,

Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.

We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.

This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion

Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding 'Iron Banner Season 12' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

Warlocks overpowered Stasis kit got nerfed within days bunt Hunters are just chillin.

    Posted: 21 Dec 2020 06:27 PM PST

Get it? Chillin? Like ice, ha I crack myself up. Nah but for real, they've easily got the best and strongest stasis abilities and are hilariously more powerful than Titans and Warlocks especially in pvp, (insert Vietnam style flashback of shatterdive and double ice shurikens here). But not a thing has been done to them, cool, cool.

Been awhile since we were on the cosmodrome, but I don't remember this. Is it new to the D2 version?

HOW TO FIGHT ALL GRANDMASTER CHAMPIONS LIKE A PRO IN SEASON OF THE HUNT! (IN-DEPTH GUIDE)

    Posted: 21 Dec 2020 08:16 PM PST

Hey, I hope this helps out. I will be going over each champion type, the ways to stun and patterns to look out for. I will also leave a detailed video link as well, with a timestamp for each champion. Full Vid -here

    Alright, let's start :)

OVERLOADS - Teleporting/Healing Champions (Vex Minotaurs, Fallen Captains)

    • Weapons - Scout Rifles, Auto Rifles, Divinity

    • For Scout Rifles, I highly recommend having Explosive Payload (+10% damage Headshot, 15% Body Shot) (very consistent splash damage which covers a great area) or Vorpal Weapon (15% damage against Bosses and Ultras which is what Champions fall under). Rapid Fire Frames Scouts (260 RPM) attached with Major Spec (7.8% damage) in mod slot. I personally do not recommend auto rifles, since overload round proc halfway through the magazine.

    • Kinetic Slot Scouts - Patron of Lost Causes, Nightwatch, The Guiding Sight, The Scholar, Transfiguration, Talons of the Eagle.

    • Energy Slot Scouts - Trustee, Royal Chase (rolls are not the greatest, but very usable)

    • Here is a clip showing for the curated Nightwatch that drops from the New Light Quest with Extended Mag/Overflow/Explosive Payload Nightwatch curated

    • Abilities - Solar/Stasis Grenades

    • Divinity - This weapon has built-in overload rounds and as soon it hits an overload champion, it will stun it. I always recommend to burst the shots instead of holding down the trigger, it will help reduce ammo consumption.

    • Tips on OVERLOAD - You should usually wait for the champion to teleport and then go in for the stun in the brief moment when it's not moving. While the champion is down, there will be a noticeable halo around its neck, you have that window to do damage. You can't stun it again while it has that halo. Crucial part here - as long as you pace your overload rounds and stagger the champion, it will not teleport until you stun it again, the video has a great example of that. There are times when the champion may teleport once but would not heal right away.

    • Here is the vid part for Overload Vid

BARRIER CHAMPIONS - Champions who shield up after taking about 20% and heal to max health if you do no disrupt them (Vex Hobgoblins, Fallen Servitors, Hive Knights, Cabal Colossus)

    • Weapons - Submachine Guns, Pulse Rifles, Eriana's Vow

    • For Grandmasters this season, there are definitely some strikes that you can get away with using a Submachine Gun (SMG) in, but pulse rifles and Eriana's Vow are going to be my top options. There are plenty of solid choices when it comes to pulse rifles. I highly recommend Disruption break (+50% damage) to kinetic damage for you and fireteam members, Vorpal Weapon (+15% damage to Bosses and Ultras - which is what champions fall under), Armor Piercing rounds (+5% damage to shields) and all 3 perks stack with Major Spec which is +7.8% damage.

    • Kinetic Slot Pulses - Sacred Provenance, Cold Denial, Hailing Confusion, If you're running a sword or legendary heavy, No time to Explain and Outbreak Prime may be a great option.

    • Energy Slot Pulses - Stars in Shadow, Jian 7 Rifle, Infinite Path 8, Last Perdition

    • Tips on BARRIER - When a barrier puts up their shield, if you are able to quickly hit the shield with anti barrier rounds, it should go down faster than normal. Make sure to go for the critical spot, it will take less shots to bring the barrier down.

    • Here is the vid part for Barrier Vid

UNSTOPPABLE CHAMPIONS - Very aggressive champions who charge at you and have a lot of health (Hive Ogres, Cabal Incendiors)

    • Weapons - Hand Cannons , Shotguns

    • Here are my thoughts for shotguns, I actually might come back and change this but shotguns should be a fun one against champions such as tractor, legend of accrius and etc. Normally you have to aim down sight until you see the "Unstoppable Shot" on your left side of the screen in order to stagger a champion: with the shotgun mod, the shot is always there, you don't have to charge it. With the unstoppable shotgun mod from the season 12 artifact, it will cost 7 out of the 10 energy for your gauntlets, so it's not something I would recommend. With hand cannons, I will always prefer Explosive Payload (+10% to critical damage and 15% to body damage) because of how consistent they are. Another great option is Timed Payload (extra damage varies from 3%-12%) .

    • Abilities - Charged Void melees

    • Kinetic Slot Hand Cannons - True Prophecy, Old Fashioned, Crimil's Dagger, Seven Seraph, Steady Hand, Dire Promise - Exotics you might wanna try out = Hawkmoon , Thorn, Ace of Spades, Malfeasance

    • Energy Slot Hand Cannons - Ancient of Gospel, Nation of Beasts, Posterity, Ikelos HC, Jack Queen King = Exotic you might like - Sunshot

    • Tips on Unstoppable Champions - Unstoppable champions will have the same halo around their neck when stopped, it will stop for 5 seconds, then you won't be able to stagger it for another 5 seconds when it stands up. Once the halo is gone, you are good to stagger again.

    • Here is the vid part for Unstoppable Video

Bungie, please consider making a LOADOUT system

    Posted: 21 Dec 2020 12:49 PM PST

Bungie, please consider making a loadout system.

it would be really nice to have a system that lets you make, save and load your loadout at any time.Imagine switching between loadouts where everything can be set up and saved so easily. I am talking about weapons, armor, super, grenade types, jumps and in case of stasis aspects and fragments.

I am the type of guy that is switching activities all day. You can see me in crucible and after a hour I am doing strikes, dungeon or whatever. (example with Stasis) For every activity i am using different fragments, grenades and jumps and with this system where you cannot make your loadout, I either forget to switch those things going to another activity or I remember to change them but doing it all the time is so exhausting. I just dont wanna switch everything 20x a day.

Maybe its just me... I dont know... Anyways I would like to read your opinion on that.

Here is a little example I made in paint. https://imgur.com/a/BxahOcr

One more thing. Please dont blame me for my english. Not my native language.

EDIT1: I know about DIM, but that is working partially. You cannot save abilities, aspects, jumps, grenades

TBH I think I enjoyed Red War as a newcomer more than I enjoy New Light

    Posted: 21 Dec 2020 08:41 PM PST

    I've played New Light. It's...fine, I guess.

But I stepped into Destiny 2 with no prior knowledge of the game, and I never played Destiny. That beginning cutscene, where the Red Legion attacks the Last City, was amazing. I didn't understand why there was a bald smurf dude or a robot with a unicorn horn, but I loved it. I slowly learned the game, and has able to take things one step at a time.

Going through Red War, having to progress through the game bit by bit was an experience for sure. Unlocking new subclasses in Forsaken added to this awesomeness, instead of just being given them as a new player. And with New Light, players get years' worth of content slapped in their faces. You're immediately given Forsaken, Shadowkeep, AND Beyond Light if you buy them all.

One HUGE thing Red War has over New Light? We weren't treated like we couldn't even spell "Hi" and ate crayons by a Shaw Han.

There is no easy-to-follow story anymore. You're brought to the tower, and then that's it. You're given a. few quests, but no real direction to go in. In Red War, you would go through missions and the farm, and eventually kill Ghaul. You got a free exotic from Asher Mir, and had fun story missions.

So, in conclusion: I have to go shove cookies in Variks' face.

For those of you refusing to give Shaw Han any cookies...

    • Devrim - climb a tower
    • Failsafe - cross to the Exodus
    • Petra - 1/3 good, 2/3 awful
    • Spider - fuck you
    • The Crow - not his fault he lives in Spider's basement
    • Eris - you're doing amazing sweetie
    • Variks - same to you honey

You know what, just add the DSC's final chest's vendor mechanic to ALL vendors that have unique rewards.

    Posted: 21 Dec 2020 08:34 AM PST

Iron Banner? Yes (Currency: IB Tokens)

Trials of Osiris/Flawless Chest? Yes (Currency: Trials Tokens, and while at it let people hold them between weeks. Also FIGURE SOMETHING OUT ABOUT THE GATEKEEPING ON THE FIRST MATCH BY POST-FLAWLESS PLAYERS FARMING FIRST MATCHES FOR TOKENS)

Crow/Wrathborn Hunts? Hell, why not? (Currency: Recon Data)

Zavala? Yeah, why not? Just make it so he sells things unique to the Strike Playlist (He already has the armor, just make him sell the Xenoclast 4, and the S13 exclusive playlist weapon as well, and then on S13, the Nightfall Exclusive weapons)

Shaxx? Yes, Same as Zavala (He sells Stars in Shadow, the armor, and whatever Exclusive weapon from S13 is.)

Drifter? Yes, same as the other two (You get the point, but he would need a new currency/tokens)

Adding the DSC's vendor chest system to all vendors that have unique loot would effectively solve most of the complaints about loot grind difficulty but also balance it as you would have to get a drop of a thing in a week to get the chance to spend currency to buy targeted rolls from the vendor.

And a side note PLEASE RE-ADD THE RISE OF IRON WEAPONS AND ARMOR FOR TRIALS AND IRON BANNER!

Edit: Idea I just had, why not have Ikora be a weekly-refreshing World-Loot Pool vendor under this system?

Every week she would sell one armor set and 3 weapons that can be purchased through Legendary Shards and/or world materials.

Banshee would be this but for gear that will sunset the next season as Bungie alluded to in their article about planned loot changes.

Hunters are asking for more cloaks with just hoods or without hoods, Warlocks are asking for their bonds to actually be something, but we all know what we really need. Titan marks that are just a belt.

Literally, just a cool belt. For real. I can confidently say that I don't want to always have towels hanging on my ass or a leather loincloth like I'm Tarzan or some shieet.

Endless loot that is all garbage isn’t a fun feeling

    Posted: 21 Dec 2020 05:40 AM PST

I've been chasing armor upgrades the entire season. 3 Raid clears (which isn't a lot) has given me 1 piece of armor with a 60+ roll. Iron Banner is the only semi consistent place to get decent armor rolls. With sunsetting it truly feels shitty to just wade through endless pools of crap rolls hoping to find something good to last a few seasons.

Dear Bungie, please give us more Failsafe.

    Posted: 21 Dec 2020 10:26 PM PST

I really don't mind if Nessus gets ignored (although i think it would be good to expand on, it's a large map with a cool aesthetic), but i'd really like more content with her. She's one of the funniest d2 characters, and i'd riot if her story ends with Nessus getting vaulted. Give her some sort of lore reason to be an asset to the Vanguard (or Dark Vanguard, or the Nine, or the Awoken, or whoever could make a plotline), or have a season where she plays a major role or something. I just want to see more of her.

(thinking of this just now, but what if she gets but into a frame? i'm sure Ana or someone could do it, there's no way she's more complex than Rasputin)

Half of what Dawn Chorus does should just be innately how bottom tree Dawnblade works

    Posted: 21 Dec 2020 08:40 AM PST

Dawn Chorus reads: Your Daybreak projectiles cause targets to burn on contact and deal more damage to them. All your burn effects last longer, and you gain a small amount of melee energy each time one of your burns damage a target.

Dawn Chorus has been turning heads precisely because it makes the very, very maligned, nerfed into the ground, boring, and shitty bottom tree Dawnblade into an actual powerhouse. You get great DPS on bosses from your Super with it equipped, and your melee and Solar grenades do extra burn damage so it basically upgrades your neutral game AND Super if you have the right build.

Thing is, barebones Dawnblade is so shitty because it has a boring and nonexistent neutral game and it's only calling card is a good Super...but one that is still nonetheless only good at killing Guardians and certain adds, never high-health targets.

But what if the disparity between regular Attunement of Flames and Attunement of Flames but with Dawn Chorus equipped was smaller because we take a page out of Dawn Chorus's book and just give it to the bottom tree as innate skills?

    • Combine Fated for the Flame and Everlasting Fire into one perk
    • Add new perk that adds DoT to ALL your Solar abilities, and you personally deal more damage to burning targets
    • Dawn Chorus will instead only increase the damage you to do to burning targets even more, and targets burn longer, and you get the melee refresh from each burn damage.

There you have it, base bottom tree Dawnblade is quite improved (possibly not even enough, however) and Dawn Chorus just augments what's already there instead of single-handedly taking a broken subclass tree and making it into something.

Bottom tree Dawnblade is just simply not worth using ever unless you have Dawn Chorus on your head. That just shouldn't be the case, it should be ok on its own and better with Dawn Chorus. "Fixing" a subclass tree with an Exotic is treating the symptoms but not the underlying problem, because it leaves you unable to use any other Exotic with that skill tree.

I truly hope that Dawn Chorus isn't signaling that bottom tree Dawnblade is going to continue to be ignored, won't ever get changed, they'll just toss this Exotic at us to inject some life into it.

Eyes of Tomorrow is doing WAY more damage than it displays on-screen against Atraks-1

    Posted: 21 Dec 2020 06:36 PM PST

Myself and some clanmates were running some DSC this week, and since all 6 of us have the raid rocket, we decided to just try to stack all 6 of us on Atraks for the hell of it, and ended up absolutely chunking his health.

I don't want this to seem like a self promotion post, because its not, I just threw together a quick youtube video on this which articulates my point better than I can via text. That can be seen here

For those that want a tl;dr, the basics of the glitch seem to be as follows:

    • With no buffs other than adaptive ordanance, the wipe screen displays about 100k-120k damage, but does about 3/4 of Atraks's health bar, which is more than 6 stack of non-buffed lament, which does about 2/3 of his healthbar, but displays 200-250k damage on the wipe screen.
    • Atraks does NOT regenerate health when shot with eyes, unlike when other damage options are used.
    • This is an easy 1-floor so long as everyone has adaptive ordanance and a damage buff of some kind
    • The extra damage does not seem to have to do with multiple people shooting the boss at once, as the extra damage does not appear when used against other bosses (strikes, raids, etc.)
    • The extra damage does not seem to be tied to frame rate

I find this glitch as a whole to be a little bit odd, and if anyone else wants to test this, feel free.

Introducing DestinyOptimizer | A Power Leveling Tool

    Posted: 21 Dec 2020 05:34 AM PST

DestinyOptimizer.com will help level up your characters as fast as possible by notifying you:

    • When your Base Power Level can be increased by "blue farming" Example
    • A season pass reward will boost your Base Power Level Example
    • You have a Prime Engram in your inventory or post master
    • When you should chase Powerful vs. Pinnacle rewards, after you hit 1250. Example

There is also a checklist that tells you which remaining powerful/pinnacle drops you have left for the week. All information is automatically pulled from the API, just like DIM.

    What is Base Power Level?

Base Power Level is your current light level without the artifact. This determines what level your rewards drop at. If your Base Power Level is 1201 and you receive a +3 Powerful reward, the reward will drop at 1204.

    What is Blue Farming?

Blue gear can drop at +0 (your current Base Power Level), which means there are many scenarios where getting a blue drop will increase your overall Base Power Level. This means you can increase your BPL without wasting a Powerful or Pinnacle drop, and your next actual powerful or pinnacle will be one light level higher.

Huge thanks to /u/gothamfury for his work on the spreadsheet that inspired this idea, and thanks to Cheese Forever for his insanely detailed 55min video on how leveling works.

    Cheers!

I and 7 musicians in the Destiny community have been working on a multi-genre cover album of every Dawning tower theme, including the new one from this week. It’s called “The Dawning Carols” and you can listen to it now.

    Posted: 21 Dec 2020 11:06 AM PST

    https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5AEO04MqT1OSPcBde0FfjdLWpHTTo4ad

Hi everyone, you may remember us from a year ago when we posted a similar project called "Geomantic," which was a cover album of the original D1 music. We've been working for the last year on two projects, one of which we're excited to finally be able to share today. It's called "The Dawning Carols" and it features remixes of every Dawning theme Bungie have composed. The tracks include:

    1. Stillness At Dawn – an orchestral/piano cover of the Dawning 2016 theme
    2. Arctic Adventure – a guitar cover of the Dawning 2018 theme
    3. View From The Summit – a choir-heavy cover of the Dawning 2017 theme, featuring a live choir.
    4. Warmth (Interlude) – a Lo-Fi cover of the Dawning 2019 theme.
    5. Black Ice – an electronic cover of "Winter Voyage" from The Dawning 2016.
    6. Moonlight Through Snowfall – a cover of the Dawning 2020 theme that's inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas.
    7. Memories of Winters Past – an "inspired by" track that features themes from Destiny and Auld Lang Syne.
    8. At The Close – A final note from us about the project and the year we've been having.

You can download the album for free in the format of your choosing, and it's also available on a select few streaming services such as Spotify. Note: we have a deal set up so that we are paying these services to host the album, but we do not see any money from them. All the revenue goes straight to the streaming services.

We also have another project coming called "Geomantic Revelations" which will include 11 new covers, including a 19-voice choir recording of Guardian, and a metal cover of The Last Array, among other things.

For download and Spotify links, you can go to https://www.oakhost.cc/geomantic/the-dawning-carols. We hope you enjoy it.

PS - You can also find a video of Ryan Abundo performing track 2 here.

Bungie, there were some issues with Stasis’ balance, but PLEASE don’t let it stifle creativity for future subclasses

    Posted: 21 Dec 2020 12:59 PM PST

Stasis was and still is a bit stronger than the light subclasses. That being said, it is unique, fun to play with, and changed the way that the game is played. We need more of that. The light subclasses are fairly homogeneous, focusing on raw damage and stat boosts. Stasis was a breath of fresh air. Please keep making unique new elements.

Voidwalker's Blink has quite a few issues many issues

    Posted: 21 Dec 2020 09:54 AM PST

First and foremost you shouldn't need an exotic to make a movement better and no Astrocythe doesn't fix blinks problems.

Since the launch of d2 blinks hit box is stretched and doesn't actually "teleport" you. Your character becomes stretched from start to where ever you land or are traveling. Making it severley punishing as you can shoot where they were vs where they currently are and kill them.Stretched Hit box while Blinking. A big reason why alot of people don't touch blink.

Astrocythe hardly if at all increases ready speed to the point that ophidans does a better job and is consistent. From play time with both tested it feels on the second Initial blink with Astrocythe equipped it doesn't ready your weapon faster. While i see the only benefits to Astrocythe is blinking further and more frequently.

You still shouldn't need the exotic for that tho. Radar is nice but. I feel it should be a standard and a part of blink with or without the exotic.

Also can we talk about blink physics killing you for no reason. Its bad even on flat textures it can launch you and kill you or you land and it kills you.
