Sunday Plz - Give All Exotics an Intrinsic Kill Tracker/Orb Generation Capabilities

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 05:00 AM PST

    Greetings Guardians!

First, an introduction to this new weekly thread.

Ever since the conception of this sub, we've dealt with floods of reposts. We're sure you're familiar with them. Many are for important issues that are shared by the entire player base, while others are just for personal requests and desires for the game. The Bungie Plz was shortly implemented after conception as a central "wish-list" for all that we, the community, desired. It is completely user driven. With rare exceptions, nearly all submissions are sent in by you, the users of this subreddit!

This wiki article has become an invaluable resource for the developers as it succinctly summarizes what the community wants in an easy-to-access and perpetually available list. In the past, even Bungie themselves ran their own Community Wishlist through the Bungie.net forums, though it has since then been retired.

However, just like Destiny 2, our wiki article began to experience problems as it grew over time. It's been getting just a few sizes too big. We understand that the continued addition of topics has begun to encroach on your ability to continue the conversation towards matters that mean the most to you, and even though the Bungie Plz has seen so many successes over the years, with well over 100 officially implemented game suggestions and desires, there's still dozens upon dozens of retired topics that haven't seen the light of day for many months...even years!

In response to to you, the users, we have designed a new weekly thread called the "Sunday Plz". We took note of your discussions that Bungie Plz becoming less of a wish-list and more of a graveyard. We've analyzed the concerns regarding topics being retired too quickly, or being left retired for far too long. As the old saying goes, "we're listening"...and we have been listening. So this is what we're going to try as a solution:

Every Sunday, this thread will focus on a certain retired Bungie Plz topic of your choosing, voted by the users. We will curate a list of 5 suggestions to help focus your voting process, but you get the final say on what is talked about each week. By all means, if one topic is overwhelmingly desired despite not being part of those 5 items we picked, then we'll be happy to go with that one. Our curated list is only to help you focus the conversation. The only stipulation is that the topic must be new every week. This thread is for the entirety of the Bungie Plz wiki, so no back-to-back voting!

It will remain stickied for 24 hours, and additionally, for the entire remainder of that week, this thread will be placed into our upper CSS header bar for continued visibility.

Think of these threads as a way to keep the spark alive, and to bring old topics up to fresh light. For example, do we still want to move Queenbreaker to the special slot? Or does Arbalest serve that purpose well enough now? Do we still want an all-black shader, or do we want a character barbershop more?

You tell us! This is your conversation, guardians.

For this week, you guys voted on:

Give All Exotic Weapons Intrinsic Orb Generation Capabilities/Kill Trackers

For next week, here are some suggestions:

    • Allow class items to be pulled from collections
    • Implement Dedicated Servers
    • Add SRL Back into the game
    • Introduce Legendary Trace Rifles
    • Buff Rocket Launchers

Sound off in the sticky comment for which one sounds good (give us a moment to put it up), or anything else in the Bungie Plz wiki, and we'll do our best to accomodate!

Destiny 2 listed among the top 12 games on Steam "as measured by gross revenue" for the year 2020.

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 07:02 AM PST

The game continues to be a financial hit, making it into the "Platinum" tier of Steam titles this year. I am unsure if the way the games are displayed is the actual order from 1 to 12, but that order would make sense to me looking at the other games present.

It is also recognized as one of the few games to have reached a concurrent player count of over 200,000, with only ten other games having achieved that this year on Steam.

Edit: As has been pointed out in multiple comments, it appears that there's no way to know where D2 ranks in the top 12. Everyone seems to get a random game order.

    Bring back Omolon scout rifles

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 05:59 PM PST

We all remember it, Hung Jury was amazing. There is something special about Omolon scout rifles. I haven't had the chance to play with a random roll Omolon scout since Destiny 1, and it'd be awesome to hear and see that weapon fire again, but in 4K 60FPS. Even though D1 guns have less recoil plus perks like Hand Laid Stock, it would still be good to farm a nice roll of it

    I'm worried about Banshee.

His memory seems to be getting worse and worse every day. He seems to forget that he has sold sprint grip nine times this week!

Make all previous DLC content that is locked behind story progression unlocked for all characters if one character fulfilled the requirements

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 02:28 PM PST

So yesterday I went to the moon on my Warlock do to some bounties and remembered people saying to go and do the moon bounties for XP. Thought it was a good idea so I went to Eris, only to find out that because my Warlock hasn't done the Shadowkeep campaign past the first mission, he can't pick up any of Eris's bounties. I only have one character that finished Shadowkeep a year ago before I stopped playing, so my other two characters can't do something as simple as bounties unless they also do the campaign now.

They should update this so that all of activities / requirements to be able to do things from previous DLCs are unlocked account wide so long as one character has fulfilled the requirements. I get why it wouldn't be like this for Beyond Light, but I have ZERO incentive to do the Shadowkeep campaign right now other than "to be able to do bounties" and that's not enough for me. Forsaken is probably the same for some people as well I wouldn't be surprised.

Edit: This doesn't imply that you CAN'T play the story, just that you have the ability to do anything that isn't part of the story that's locked behind completing the story if you already did it on another character (i.e. Pit of Hersey, strikes, buying bounties, etc.)

I have undeniable proof that Shaw Han isn't a guardian at all, but in fact a reptilian humanoid.

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 11:33 AM PST

While turning in cookies to this....."man guardian" my friend bumped into me which pushed me into Shaw. Doing so revealed the whole truth on who this "person" truly is.

First here you get a good look at his Chameleon like eyes. These eyes have the ability to almost go 360 viewing the new guardians from all sides of the Cosmodrome as to not sneak up one him.

Secondly is his oddly long tongue. From my time observing the tongue seems to give him an advantageous ability to receive cookies from far away out of arms distance.

Thirdly, but with a keen eye, one can tell that is "skin suit" has flaws. As seen from an example here you can tell similarly that Shaw's "skin suit" is just as lumpy and plasticly looking compared to other true guardians.

With these facts and proof in place its safe to say that with 69% of a doubt that "Shaw Han" is actually a reptilian humanoid.

Bungie Plz Addition: Don't Close Menus/Inventory Screens When Loading Into An Activity

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 08:22 AM PST

    Hello Guardians,

This topic has been added to Bungie Plz.
Going forward, all posts suggesting this change will be removed and redirected to this Megathread.

    Submitted by: u/Coltons13

    Date approved: 12/24/20

    Modmail Discussion:

u/Coltons13: "Why it should be added: Those above are just a few examples, but I'm sure you're aware this gets posted literally all the time and it's exhausting to watch the same thread play out every single time. Bungie has literally addressed this as being implemented to avoid losing gear when loading into activities. This comment gives the gist of it and so does this one. It isn't something Bungie is going to fix because to our knowledge they literally cannot do it, or have decided it isn't worth the time-investment for the QOL. Second of all, how many games even let you manage inventory in loading screens? Like none, it's silly complaining about an already good QOL feature."

    Examples given: 1, 2, 3

    Criteria Used:

"...3 examples (with links) of recent submissions (with at least 1 being over 30 days old), that have been well received (hundreds of upvotes on the front page of the sub - ex. 300+ upvotes)."

Energy Hand Cannons selection is terrible

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 07:05 PM PST

Not much to be said here just curious if I'm the only one but the energy hand cannon selection is just bad. Why is it full of 140 and 180? Can we please have a 120? Doesn't even have to be the best thing since pre patched Vex Mythoclast I'm just wanting one that's decent so I have a reason to use my new adept astral.

I solo queued into crucible quickplay for 12 matches today. All 12 matches ended with my team being mercied.

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 01:24 PM PST

This isn't an enjoyable experience for solo players. Whatever changes Bungie made to their matchmaking / mercy system has made the crucible into a mercy for me.

Rarely do games every go the full 10-15 minutes anymore. They are constantly being called early due to my team being mercied.

I am not complaining about the other players or any other multitude of factors that are effecting the crucible at the moment.

It makes it really difficult to enjoy the pvp experience when literally every game I play is being called halfway through.

Genuine question. Why are class items “Randomized Gear”

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 04:39 PM PST

There's no stats on them and you can change elemental affinity on gear anyways.

I ran my first GoS and got the cool looking cloak but it had the newer season of the hunt emblem on the gear so I deleted it thinking it was just a world drop...

I don’t know if it’s been mentioned but Trinity Ghoul triggers Athry’s Embrace in one headshot

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 08:19 AM PST

Title. A friend of mine mains bows and was playing with Athry's Embrace when he noticed the perk would activate after one headshot. Probably as Trinity ghoul technically shoots three arrows in one.

    Just a cool tidbit.

Tip: When Using Destiny Item Manager (DIM), "Archive" Sunset Weapons You're Keeping

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 11:35 AM PST

Hey, quick DIM tip to help with Inventory Management.

Did you know you can tag items (weapons, armor) as "Archived" (and other things)? Archived items are nearly invisible in the User Interface, making it easy to avoid them. Click on an item and then press SHIFT + 5 or use the menus to tag it as "Archived".

So if you want to keep your Recluse with 69,420 kills forever but don't want it to come up in a search for is:submachine because it hurts too much, try that out. Or if you, like me, suspect Dreaming City or Shadowkeep weapons will be un-sunset soon, hide them until they are.

Note however, archived items are available (highlighted) in searches unless you append "and -tag:archive" to the search.

PS: if you use DIM on multiple devices, make sure you use DIM sync too, or your archive tags will not carry over to other devices.

Bungie, please let the Eververse Archive section refresh with different items daily or weekly

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 05:03 AM PST

It would not only be beneficial for sales, it would also be very helpful for us collectors, wanting to fill out our collections.

Vendors should have their ghost around

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 05:21 PM PST

Our little buddy is so lovely, I wish our vendors (the ones who have a ghost) would show their ghost a lil more. We guardians are able to let our ghost fly next to us, why are Zavala, Shaxx, Ikora and all the others not able to?

EDIT: I think I know why, they ain't got such a fancy shall as most of us do. And as u know, alot of ghosts are very shy.

Why Does Crow Have A Poncho But Hunters Don't?

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 08:49 PM PST

I want a poncho. Cloaks seem to be less tactical than a poncho, and ponchos are just cooler. Crow got a poncho, Cayde wanted a poncho. Just give me a poncho, please, I'll play silver.

    Warlock Melee

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 01:18 AM PST

Fellow warlocks, please blow this post up. Bungie needs to see this and not ignore it anymore.

I'm sure I'm not the only warlock who is sick and tired of dying because of our melee speed. For those who don't know, the warlock melee is slower than hunter and titan. The argument is that warlocks have ranged melees and further melee range. Yes, we have ranged melee abilities, but those cannot one hit kill anyone unlike hunter's knife or titan melee abilities. And warlocks have a longer LUNGE range, not melee range. Due to the speed difference, this means even if we get the first hit off, we can still lose because they can get the second hit off first. I think it's about time bungie just made all the melee speeds and lunge ranges the same, while the melee abilities differ between classes.

If you feel different, feel free to say why. I'm all for seeing different viewpoints, but let's keep it friendly.

It would be cool to have bigger and more powerful brigs just appear on Europa similar to the enforcer brig

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 07:35 PM PST

I think brigs are super cool, having two types of attack modes (airstrike and missiles), but often my boys literally get melted in two seconds, even the commodores from the heroic crux convergence get melted. The only time you meet a brig that is really difficult to destroy is either the normal sized enforcer brig, and the really big brig from that one mission you can't replay. It would be cool if that big brig was just click and dragged out onto the open world to spawn every once in a while. I get the enforcer brig might mimic that feeling but he too smol.

I got 100k Seasonal Infamy so you don't have to and what I learnt about Gambit in the process

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 02:00 PM PST

It's awful and people don't know how to play...

    Seasonal Data

    Weekly Data

Gambit really needs a massive rework. The fact there is no viable reward system means its only use is to complete bounties and even then its not necessary outside of the 3 weekly games for pinicle gear.

Gambit has been one of my favourite game modes since it was released but merging the two into some hybrid of Classic and Prime with no good bits of either really shows how little Bungie care about it.

Playing this many games over the course of the season really highlights the same annoyances over and over:

    • Please don't leave motes to disappear, i know they don't always pick up but use your minimap, it's there for a reason.

    • Take out high damage enimies first! Shreikers, ogres, wizards, Hydras, Minotaurs, Scorpus Turrets. These things melt you instantly if you're not looking.

    • Synchronise banking motes with teammates. If you're full or wanting to bank, protect the bank and wait for someone else, having 2 or more blockers on the enemy team will eat their banks motes and can put you ahead

    • PLEASE DO DAMAGE TO THE PRIMEVAL. so many times I've been I'm games where people just don't seem to understand the concept of shooting the massive, hulking boss.

    • Use appropriate weapons on the boss. don't be using auto rifles and scouts. if you're going to use a primary use Malfeasance, it's literally made for gambit and can net you 50k plus damage with ease.

There's not much more to say here because the people that don't like Gambit won't do any of this and Bungie won't be updating it anytime soon.

However, if you see a nutter with 100k+ Infamy on his emblem, say Hi because I'm not stopping anytime soon

QoL change: Please give Banshee 2 armor mod slots and let weapon mods come from rank ups

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 09:16 AM PST

There's not enough weapon mods in comparison to armor mods to warrant having 1 of each every day. The weapon mods should be on a checklist system like Bright Engram rewards are (or at least were) to allow players to obtain weapon mods. That ways, we can purchase 2 of the 100+ armor mods a day (maybe a CwL/WC mod every now and then) and still get the 20ish weapon mods we currently have in game.
