    Trials of Osiris is LIVE

This thread is for all general discussion, questions, thoughts, musings, wonderings, etc. for the Trials of Osiris.

    FAQ

    What is Trials of Osiris?

    • Trials of Osiris is the pinnacle PvP activity. Every Weekend, the best players compete in 3v3 Elimination for one goal: Go Flawless.

    • To start, head to Saint-14 in the Tower Hangar and buy one of the possible passages (see below).

    • To reach Flawless and get to the Lighthouse, you need to win 7 matches without losing one.

    • It uses Win Based Matchmaking, which means you'll face teams with a similar amount of wins on their card. Matches will get harder as you win more matches.

    • There is NO fireteam matchmaking. You need to team up yourself!

    • Power Level matters, however bonus power from the artifact is not enabled.

How Long do the Trials of Osiris last?

    • Event Starts: Every Friday at Daily Reset (1700 UTC).

    • Event Ends: Following Tuesday at Weekly Reset (1700 UTC).

Where do I go to find Guardians to compete with in the Trials?

    • You can head over to /r/Fireteams, www.The100.io, Xbox LFG system, DestinyLFG.net or DestinyLFG.com, or go to the Bungie.net recruitment forum (also available through the Bungie App).

What if I have a question about another piece of armor/weapon or general Trials question?

    • Use Control + F (Or Command + F if on a Mac) and search for keywords in your question. Someone may have asked it already. If they haven't ask right below.

Since shattered throne is becoming relevant again, can we please get raid banners in it?

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 01:25 PM PST

Attempted Trials for the first time. It was the worst PvP experience I've had in any game.

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 05:50 PM PST

Out of the 25 matches our team attempted we won 3. Out of the 22 games, 21 of which we went up against at least one flawless player.

The most used weapon by a very significant margin we went up against was the Felwinter's lie, a weapon that none of us have. We all used the seventh seraph CQC to attempt to compete but the 7m ohk on a good day could not at all compare. We had to play around close quarters because we knew in a shotgun duel we would never win.

Going up against players who are more experienced than us, more skilled than us with better weaponry than us seems hopeless. I can't see ever trying to attempt this game mode again.

We should get Touch of Malice back so we can use Oryx to kill his sisters, turn them into weapons and/or armor and complete the family set of sorrow weapons and keep them in our vault.

Imagine just having the leaders of the Hive army just collecting dust in our vaults as glorified trophies.

I might be in the minority here, but I really miss heroic daily missions.

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 12:41 PM PST

Some of my favorite things to do in the game was to take a new build I was trying into a difficult mission, or take a cool outfit set and see how it looked in a cutscene. Is there anyone else that misses daily missions?

If you are unhappy about the state of the game, don't buy stuff from Eververse.

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 01:16 PM PST

There are two reasons why the game could be in the state it is now:

    a) Bungie legitimately is just that out of touch with their playerbase, in which case seeing a falloff, however marginal, of Eververse profits, will alert them.

    OR

    b) Bungie found that sweet spot for game developers and sour spot for the players where they can earn maximized profits from minimal work. Putting a dent in their Eververse profits will show them they can't do this anymore.

Eververse made a hundred million dollars last year. And yet Bungie felt the need to make 70% of weapons irrelevant and does not respond to players' complaints about the shitty system at ALL. They don't even acknowledge bugs that make the game less enjoyable, they obviously couldn't care less about PvP, and I tried to be optimistic but I just couldn't.

Next few seasons better be bringing TTK-Forsaken level changes. I logged in today just to explore the OOB reservoir but I'm not gonna come back unless Bungie announces bigger changes than just "okay we made two armor sets eight weapons out of $80 worth of content relevant. By the way, your old versions of the weapons are still useless! :)"

Bungie, I'm Glad More Weapons Are Returning but I Don't Understand the Choices of Which Weapons to Bring Back

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 08:31 AM PST

One of the biggest issues that sunsetting caused was holes in the ability for the player to use certain weapons for certain encounters. The choices as to which weapons to bring back should be built around where there are holes to fill. For example, Blasphemer is coming back. Great, another kinetic slug shotgun. We're getting 2 Arc Rocket Launchers that literally nobody asked for. Meanwhile, there are no 600 RPM Arc autos in the game. In fact, there is only 1 Arc auto rifle in the game, Uriels's Gift. Why wouldn't Arc Logic be added to the pool to fill that missing hole? Why is does this matter? Because we have activities in which a 600 RPM Arc auto would be great such as the Perdition Lost Sector on Europa.

Another hole is SMGs. We have 2 great Arc options and some solid kinetic choices but zero void. You know where there was a void SMG? The Moon loot pool. If we are going to have forced loadouts due to champions and match-game combinations, we should have some level of flexibility as to what weapons we can slot. I really feel like the sunsetting decisions were made with no regard to how it effects day-to-day play. I really hope in the future those decisions take into consideration that one reason many players are so big on weapon collecting and hoarding is that we want flexibility in our loadouts. If you're going to implement Champion mods on a weapon type, there should be plenty of options available to the player for that weapon type. Running activities with Champions (especially if matchgame is also active) is sometimes so dreadful because I feel like I only have 2 or 3 possible choices. This has to be considered in the future.

Overload champions are ridiculously not fun

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 06:47 AM PST

I don't know what else to say. Running perdition legend lost sector has been driving me mad. Not because of difficulty, but because I'm basically relying on RNG in my auto rifle to stop an overload champion, and when I do get that one overload round in my mag, I have to pray I'm not shooting during one of its 5 teleports during the charge.

I can live with Barrier champions and I can live with unstoppable champions. They have an aspect of fun to counter and are satisfactory to kill.

I get no satisfaction in killing an overload champion, I'm just unannoyed when I kill them.

I can't imagine someone at Bungie played an overload champion and thought "wow this is FUN". The only reason overload champions are in the game is for a challenge. A ridiculously not fun challenge. Things shouldn't be added to this game if there is not an aspect of fun to it.

Add a growing pile of tokens behind Shaxx

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 06:00 PM PST

As the time to the season end runs out Shaxx will be flooded with more and more tokens from Guardians who have saved them up for years at this point. I would love to see a pile of tokens grow and grow behind Shaxx as he can't get rid of them fast enough. By the end of the season, you will have to navigate a maze of tokens.

So I dumped 15k Crucible Tokens and counted every drop, here are the results!

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 06:59 AM PST

Since Crucible Tokens will soon be junk items, I gave 15k tokens and counted every drop Shaxx gave me.

    TL;DR

    • 58% of the drops were Armor pieces (approx. 3 every 5 drops)
    • Kinetic/Energy/Heavy weapons were well balanced (respectively, 14%/17%/12%)
    • Some weapons seem to drop waaaay more than others. For example, out of 752 drops, 25 were Seventh Seraph LMGs while only 1 was the Jian-7
    • Each weapon type shared about 2% to 6% of the weapon drops except Scout Rifles (0.48%), Rocket Launchers (0.97%) and Auto Rifles (9.55%)
    • I also got 210 Enhancement Cores, about one every 4 engram
    • I did not keep a single drop, which is kinda sad

I really don't enjoy Crucible anymore and that disappoints me more than anything.

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 06:22 PM PST

PvP "Main" here if there is such a thing. I really enjoy the PvP content and spend most of my time in the Crucible. However since the launch of Beyond light and Stasis Its gotten very... Stale.

After ending my usual crucible sessions I have the stasis sound effects playing in my head. It never goes away. Please I need a doctor

I like that the meta feels more diverse and balanced (not looking at you "No time to explain") but man, I've really lost my drive to play crucible when it feels like the strategy is who uses stasis better.

Don't take me the wrong way, it's a learning curve and I'm getting better at dealing with Stasis, however that subclass has really took the joy out of crucible for me. Anyone else feeling the same way? Just sorta bummed out competitively.

    Bungie, do you need help?

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 03:56 AM PST

    Dear Bungie,

I could be way off base with all of this, but here's what I've observed:

    1. Destiny's content is consumed really fast by the minority of the community.

    2. Once the majority catches up, there is less new content to consume than previously available in new releases.

    3. Your team seems spread too thin and the pipeline of content too bare in the grand scheme. (Re-issued loot, less content that previous releases, etc)

    4. We don't know how long it takes you to make new content/loot or how long it takes you to hire people to be actual contributors to the team. You've never told us these things and set those expectations accordingly, so here we are.

    ——

I could have worded these better I'm sure, but with these things in mind (personally) it seems like you need help to satisfy this community (both the minority and majority).

    1. Do you feel the pipeline of content you're pushing out is satisfactory to yourselves and the community?

    2. If not, Is it in the budget to enlist the aid of another studio? Why or why not?

    3. If it's not in the budget, how many trinkets from eververse to we need to buy to get you that help? This community is pretty good at raising funds for a worthy cause.

    4. You are free to be transparent with us, so why don't you? This is a relationship, no?

Just talk to us, people are quite literally begging you to do so.

Thank for reading. Have a great day!

There are currently 3 non-sunset Legendary Arc Rocket Launchers. Please reconsider reissuing Sleepless and Heretic

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 11:19 AM PST

The Shining Sphere from Iron Banner, The Hoosegow from Prophecy and Subzero Salvo from Europa are all Arc Rocket Launchers that are not only obtainable, but will also not reach their power cap at the end of this season. You guys have expressed that you don't want too many of the same archetype catagory and element in the loot pool, so please reconsider reissuing these. Translation Theory and Arc Logic/Every Waking Moment/Loud Lullaby would be preferred far more than another 2 Arc Rockets.

Can anti-barrier mods start damaging targets shielded by barrier servitors?

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 12:31 PM PST

Champions alone are super gimmicky and a boring way to ramp up difficulty. But having to deal with a barrier servitor and a gaggle of dickheads who are immune is just not fun. And I know I'll just get called salty and no actual changes will ever be made but cmon man.

Where has our feedback from Season of Arrivals gone?

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 03:47 AM PST

Back in Arrivals, focusing engrams was positively received by the community, with most of the flaws coming from differences in what we see as high stat rolls and bugs and glitches. Many posts from that period asked to apply this system to other vendors like Shaxx, Zavala and Saladin, spending the tokens to get rewards we as individuals desire. So why are we just scrapping this system instead of improving it?

Unless I missed something in the post, peoples main gripe with crucible rewards, namely blues dropping every match that are immediately dismantled for legendary shards and glimmer, isn't being adjusted, instead the valour rank up rewards are improved and the seasonal ritual quest rewards are folded into them, and we have to visit shaxx to pick up our rewards and reset our valour for 'visibility in what you earn'. Could this not have been added to the valour rank information panel that appears at the end of matches?

Light.gg shows that pretty much every weapon has a ‘curated’ roll, but almost none of them actually drop in-game.

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 06:01 AM PST

It seems like such a massive waste of potential. I'd love some kind of a 'shiny' system where on very rare occasions, a drop will be a fully masterworked 'curated' version of itself. Just like in Last Wish, but applied across the board with increased 'shiny' potential in harder activities. They could even drop with unique shaders like they did in forges during Black Armory. Would add some very welcome spice to the loot situation right now, and would be building on a system which already exists.

Dragon's Breath would make a fantastic wave frame

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 10:33 AM PST

With Martyr's Retribution being sunset next season, and with it being the only solar wave frame grenade launcher currently I was thinking of a possible replacement. May I introduce

    Dragon's Roar

Every roar starts with a breath

Similar to Dragon's Breath, this wave frame would leave a lingering flame on the ground, but hypothetically with increasing damage depending on the amount of enemies killed. I feel as though between that ability, and the ability to create warming cells from being solar damage, it justifies the exotic slot. Also, less related but look at Dragon's Breath and tell me it doesn't look like a wave frame.

Can We Get a Vote Kick for AFK Strike Players

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 03:58 PM PST

I have encountered way too many AFK strike players who either don't play at all, or just wait until you carry them to the boss to bother doing anything. Can we please get something to help get rid of them? I think a vote kick might work, but may it's own issues, but i'm unsure what else would work. Regardless, can we please get something to deal with these freeloading guardians?

So, I just had the most satisfying thing I will do happen in the worst crusible match I will probably ever be in.

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 10:07 PM PST

I have been playing pvp to complete my cipher and of course just my luck I load into a match and its a 6 stack of stasis wielding hunters. I'm sure I don't have to explain how bad that was other then they were super sweaty as if it was trials and moved as a unit in a casual match. This lead to the majority of my team leaving and it was me and someone else. As I was losing hope they finally made a really bad play. I had never used my super yet so they did not know I had whirlwind guard and two of them used their supers and I was able to dodge away behind a wall and not get frozen so I used my super converted the blizzard's and charged them. I was able to pull a team kill out of my ass that was getting gapped the entire match. Felt so damn good but of couse it was short lived and we got mercied
