Bungie, let me use the gunsmith to change barrel, magazine, bowstring, fletching, and sight perks on weapons

    Posted: 16 Jan 2021 12:03 PM PST

This would tremendously reduce the grind for weapons that will inevitably be sunset AND revitalize the use of mod components.

    Bungie: help me, help you....

Edit: while we're at it, give the vanguard the ability to make small changes to armor stats for each class

    Sorry hunters 😬

Wouldn’t it be cool if the Gunsmith could...actually gun-smith?

    Posted: 16 Jan 2021 08:06 AM PST

I've always found it strange that the gun loot available from the gunsmith is randomized. We can't ask Banshee to drop a specific weapon, reroll weapons, etc, and yet he's a...smith-of-guns?

At least now he's a materials & mod vendor but the gun aspect of his apparent career appears to be underdeveloped. The community loves the various ways in which Bungie has developed ways to farm specific weapons and perk rolls. If any vendor should get this capacity permanently added to their function in the game I would think Banshee would be an obvious choice.

Edit: i dont reddit much but i am a big destiny fan and enjoy this sub so i appreciate all the attention this post is getting.

New Bright Dust system is...yuck. Feels like a gut punch.

    Posted: 16 Jan 2021 11:22 AM PST

Finished the 1260 grind. By now I've got all the weapon rolls I want. Normally, I'd keep playing core activities until the end of the season to farm bright dust, but it just doesn't seem worth it now. It's like a bad infomercial is playing in my head "Hey, how would you like to do the same amount of work for half the reward! Well I've got a deal for you then!"

So yeah, guess I'm done with core activities until next season. That's about 6 hours of playtime Bungie won't get since I play all 3 characters. SMH.

Bungie, can you revisit the bright dust system? Revert the amount back to what it was, reduce bounty requirements, let it drop from more sources, or something please.

Seeing posts of people describing how they spent between 5k to 15k crucible tokens and did not get one piece of armor above 59 total, makes me wonder if Bungie even tries to make pvp interesting in any shape or form...

Wrathborn hunts, and their loot, have been very disappointing.

    Posted: 16 Jan 2021 03:30 PM PST

Say what you will about the seasonal model last. During the last three seasons, they came up with really cool mods and great guns (warmind builds, falling guillotine and sundial weapons). This expansion did well with europa and raid weapons. This seasons weapons has one good breach launcher. And that's about it. I hope the quality in loot goes up in the following seasons.

    We NEED a Legendary Khovostov

    Posted: 16 Jan 2021 12:30 PM PST

Ladies and Gentlemen, I come to you on this nice saturday afternoon with an urgent plea. Khovostov, an IP defining weapon, is regulated to a trash stat common weapon. This is an outrage. This weapon deserves better, the game deserves better. The gun sounds amazing. I can hear the unfiltered wisdom of an intoxicated russian astronaut everytime I pull the trigger. The sight on it is crispy. That's about it. It's range stat is smaller than the amount of content creators happy with the game. It's less stable than my ex's new relationship (or atleast that's what I tell myself). It (and every other primary in the game right now) serves the sole purpose of increasing the amount of kills gotten by 120rpm hand cannons. It can't take shaders, it can't be masterworked, I can't track the amount of times someone died to a khovostov using a steady hand and felwinters (losers). A pvp kill tracker would serve the exact same purpose. I can't even infuse it to use in trials, a game mode I and many others in the community play ALL the time these days. It should drop ONLY from the Cosmodrome, other destinations are not worthy of it's majesty. Make it a reward for each weekly bounty and a random drop from patrols, public events, and lost sectors. Please bungie, do the right thing. Give Khovostov a legendary variant.

Ironically one of the oldest exotics in the game features the most modern weapon design. Even Crimson has a cylinder.

Preemptive Feedback: Ascendant Shards should drop every Crucible / Strike / Gambit rank reset.

    Posted: 16 Jan 2021 06:50 AM PST

Even under the assumption that Bungie will add more sources for Ascendent Shards in Season 13, they are still far too rare for the current state of armor in D2.

First, being able to get an Ascendent Shard every reset will keep players active in their preferred playlist for the duration of the season. Second, giving dedicated PVP and Gambit players methods to earn Ascendant shards is good for the health of the game. How often do you see a casual player with masterworked armor? Do they even know what masterworked armor is?

Bungie, I'm getting pretty tired of every positive change having a catch

    Posted: 16 Jan 2021 01:05 AM PST

Title. It seems as though Bungie either doesn't want to or is incapable of implementing a positive change for the game, without either A. having the change stop short of being even better, or B. ruining something else upon implementation. Some examples:

Re-issuing 4 DC and 4 Moon weapons: This is great and all, but do we really need 2 more arc Rocket Launchers? What about re-issuing Horror's Least, so we can at least have 1 useable rapid-fire pulse rifle in the game? And that's without even mentioning how you'll have to grind out new god-rolls for guns that you already have.

Bright dust changes: Having to grind out fewer bounites is great, but it comes at the cost of having less total BD available for everyone with more than 1 character. This seems like just an obvious attempt to make people have less brifht dust and therefore buy more items with silver.

The new vendor progression & upgrade mats: Getting an ascendant shard for resetting vendor progression is great, but we're losing the ability to run PoH for level 10 armor. So once again, the total amount of upgrade mats available to us is, you guessed it, lower.

Since we are going away from Crucible tokens, can we return to the old post-match screens where we can see everyone’s drops, but add a slot machine to the drop slots.

    Posted: 16 Jan 2021 08:25 AM PST

Everyone gets two slots and it spins like a slot machine. If everyone gets a "cherry", then everyone gets an exotic :)

Edit: Maybe double cherry individually is a pinnacle, high stat roll, preferred perks, enhancement prism, 10 enhancement cores, or catalyst...

Edit 2: Okay, maybe everyone in the lobby getting all cherries should dump rewards, like exotics, full glimmer dump, prisms, cores, golf balls, the whole 9 yards. Because it would likely be extremely rare. And, for the first time ever, we would appreciate the massive banner obstructing our entire screen.

Charging me more to reset my Artifact is just not necessary.

    Posted: 16 Jan 2021 03:27 AM PST

Like seriously... Sometimes I feel like Bungie's departments don't even speak with each other or they don't understand the idea of having multiple builds/playstyles.

Like not being able to make Loadouts in the game despite the Champion system and hard content it's like required at this point... It's so ass-backward.

When doing these Legend Lost Sectors there is a regular requirement to explore with builds to figure out how to do them without just using guides, Like trying void out with the void mods instead... but it's costing me so much glimmer, it's so necessary to respec, please bungo.

Just to drive home my point, I wanna try some other mods out but at 50,000 glimmer to reset it but also with it to increase again reduces my incentive to.. you know have fun in your game and try new things, I really don't like these kind of design dicisions.

Things I can still do and use in D1

    Posted: 16 Jan 2021 08:39 PM PST

After seeing posts bemoaning the loss of locations, raids, strikes, crucible maps, etc. I logged into D1 to see what I can still do and see what weapons were still relevant. Naturally, there have been some subtractions over time, like trials, some crucible maps (vehicle maps), etc. but I can still log in and do the following with friends.

    • Every Raid (with multiple difficulty choices)
    • Every Strike
    • Challenge Modes
    • Prison of Elders
    • Hard Mode Missions vs. Regular Mode Missions
    • Crucible Fun
    • Almost every exotic (looking at you Pocket Infinity)
    • Other things that I'm missing

There are clearly some things that D2 has gotten very right, and I would not trade that experience for the world. I also know that the "state of D2" does not allow for an ever expanding game, but between the content vault, sunsetting, etc. It truly is upsetting that there will be a day when I log into D2 and the game is missing a secret mission, a raid, or awesome dungeon because of "use", "game size" or whatever other (very reasonable, but still frustrating justification).

Nostalgia hits hard, and the rose colored glasses are obviously on when we had some very bad times in D1, but it's frustrating to imagine that I can't do the things that I was promised when I paid for D2 and its expansions (prior to Shadowkeep/Beyond Light).

I'm glad that I bought D1, I'm glad that I bought D2, and I'm glad to be part of the community, but there are times like these where it would be nice to "play my way" like we all envisioned so many years ago.

***Edit: it's nice not having to artificially raise my own difficulty for certain things, e.g. wearing a blind fold, doing it solo, only using certain weapons, and actually feeling like i have the choice for hero moments or having fun times with friends.

So, if Gunsmith Weapon Telemetries aren’t around anymore, why the heck are there 5 (Five!) ghost mods that generate Weapon Telemetries?!?!

    Posted: 16 Jan 2021 11:52 AM PST

So, I had been remarking to my wife, as she just started playing again after an extended break, how we've got no use, and never did, for Weapon Telemetries in the game.

It was then that I first noticed that I had zero, none, zip, nada in my vault or inventory, of the thousands I had accumulated during D2.

Sooo... why do these useless ghost mods even exist?

I mean, it was bad enough when Telemetries existed with nothing to use them on, but now that they're apparently gone, this is even more insulting and stupid.

EDIT: This post isn't so much about my missing Weapon Telemetries as it's about the stupidity of having 5 ghost mods that generate them when they have absolutely no practical value.

Re-introduce Iron Banner ornaments through pursuits?

    Posted: 16 Jan 2021 06:59 PM PST

Title, although I'm probably not the first to think of it; create difficult pursuits that have a glimmer/legendary shard/etc cost that unlock bits and pieces of older Iron Banner ornaments (Iron Pledge from S2/Named Iron Lords from S3)

And I mean genuinely difficult pursuits; maybe relate the ornament to the weapon of choice that an Iron Lord had used? (Efrideet's Mantle would be Precision and/or Rapid Kill sniper kills in IB?) Something creative yet not so mind numbingly easy that you can just stroll straight through it.

During S2/S3/etc, you previously unlocked the Iron Banner ornaments by handing in tokens and increasing your vendor rank, much like in the Faction Rally's of old. Since we don't utilize that system anymore and are now by-in-large more focused on earning our cosmetics, this could be a reasonable addition to increase incentive to play during Iron Banner as currently it's just a glorified "get more pinnacles" sinkhole which loses it's value and interest the further into a season we go.

I would REALLY like an option to skip the story so I don't have to do on each character every time.

    Posted: 16 Jan 2021 09:16 AM PST

For me it just wastes time when I just want to be productive and level my characters or just outright play them without having to slog through the story. I don't care how "fast" people think they can complete it on each character or that it's "not a long story". It's annoying and counter productive.

Another day another Altar of Sorrows Bug post

    Posted: 16 Jan 2021 12:04 PM PST

Bosses don't rotate daily as they are supposed to.
Ever since Beyond Light it has been Phogoth every day.
As it is now you can't complete the collection badge.
So that's effectively no Harbinger title.

Now the question is, will people get the Heretic launcher / Apostate sniper from a fixed Altar of Sorrows or the reissue in the next season?

Guess that's one way to fix bugged unobtainable loot...
