Sunday Plz - Give Arbalest Intrinsic Shield-Piercing Capabilities

    Posted: 17 Jan 2021 08:43 AM PST

    Greetings Guardians!

Ever since the conception of this sub, we've dealt with floods of reposts. We're sure you're familiar with them. Many are for important issues that are shared by the entire player base, while others are just for personal requests and desires for the game. The Bungie Plz was shortly implemented after conception as a central "wish-list" for all that we, the community, desired. It is completely user driven. With rare exceptions, nearly all submissions are sent in by you, the users of this subreddit!

However, just like Destiny 2, our wiki article began to experience problems as it grew over time. It's been getting just a few sizes too big. We understand that the continued addition of topics has begun to encroach on your ability to continue the conversation towards matters that mean the most to you, and even though the Bungie Plz has seen so many successes over the years, with well over 100 officially implemented game suggestions and desires, there's still dozens upon dozens of retired topics that haven't seen the light of day for many months...even years!

Every Sunday, this thread will focus on a certain retired Bungie Plz topic of your choosing, voted by the users. We will curate a list of 5 suggestions to help focus your voting process, but you get the final say on what is talked about each week. By all means, if one topic is overwhelmingly desired despite not being part of those 5 items we picked, then we'll be happy to go with that one. Our curated list is only to help you focus the conversation. The only stipulation is that the topic must be new every week. This thread is for the entirety of the Bungie Plz wiki, so no back-to-back voting!

Think of these threads as a way to keep the spark alive, and to bring old topics up to fresh light. For example, do we still want to move Queenbreaker to the special slot? Or does Arbalest serve that purpose well enough now? Do we still want an all-black shader, or do we want a character barbershop more?

You tell us! This is your conversation, guardians.

For this week, you guys voted on:

Give Arbalest the Intrinsic Ability to Pierce Shield Champions

For next week, here are some suggestions:

    • Revert the Box Breathing nerf
    • Let us apply shaders to exotic weapons
    • Give us an all black (Superblack) shader
    • Allow class items to be pulled from Collections
    • Separate the melee and the melee ability button

Sound off in the sticky comment for which one sounds good (just give us a moment to put it up), or anything else in the Bungie Plz wiki that catches your eye, and we'll do our best to accommodate!

Please re issue weapons that never got random rolls before weapons that already have.

Still waiting for DFA, Duty Bound and basically all of the Trials of the Nine weapons. There are so many awesome Y1 guns. Just some examples I hope for.

Can all the planets get the Europa treatment?

    Posted: 17 Jan 2021 04:36 PM PST

Meaning, can all the planets get the following, either intrinsically or through a quest type system like herealways pieces:

1: Guaranteed purples from *most* HVT chests? (Brigs, and Fallen Captains always drop purples from their chests if you weren't aware. Storm minotaurs are the outliers that waste our time with blues).

2: The first lost sector in a specific area of the day for each character drop a guaranteed purple weapon? (The first lost sector in an eclipsed zone of the day for each character guarantees a Europan weapon.)

3: The first Heroic event drop purple armor? (Supposed to be high rolled.. but it never is.. but at least it's not a dumb blue).

4: Weapon bounties like Variks for planet specific legendary weapons?

EDIT*** Ah nice, it got some traction.

It's almost like originally these planets had weapons and armor designed for them that could be farmed for with a system like Europa's..

Lemme see if I can try with just the EDZ:

    Minimum Distance - Kinetic Sidearm

Scathelocke - Kinetic Auto Rifle (I f'n miss this thing)

Hawthorne's Field Forged Shotgun - Kinetic Shotgun

Show of Force - Energy Sniper

Bad News - Kinetic Hand Cannon

Flash and Thunder - Energy Grenade Launcher

Lincoln Green - Kinetic Pulse Rifle

    Complex Solution - Power Sword

Call to Serve - Kinetic Scout Rifle

Eystein D - Kinetic Pulse Rifle

Cartesian Coordinate - Energy Fusion Rifle

    Wildwood - Armor

Many of the above listed weapons never received random rolls. I know I'd spend days in the EDZ just to get a god rolled scathelocke with random rolls. Maybe some retooling as there seems to be a distinct lack of Energy Primaries in this list.. Or maybe other planets cover that. I just want more guns either way.

Bungie: We’ve been unable to invite Guardians through the Destiny app since the launch of Beyond Light. It’s a huge annoyance & you’ve mostly ignored it. When will we be able to use the app like normal?

Make all Raid worth doing once a week.

    Posted: 17 Jan 2021 03:21 PM PST

Just add upgrade Materials to the final chest of every current raid.

A loot chest, like in the newest raid, would be awesome in garden or last wish but materials would be a nice start.

The Hawkmoon quest was really a breath of fresh air in almost every way. I hope that this is the model for future Exotic quests.

    Posted: 17 Jan 2021 09:02 PM PST

I really enjoyed this quest. Finding the feathers was very fun; I decided to find them myself based off of Crow's hints, rather than watching a guide on it, and this was immensely rewarding. I would love more quests in the future that use in-game hints to point to their location, rather than having vague descriptions that send you scrambling to Datto's channel.

Learning about Crow was genuinely intriguing in a way Destiny can struggle with. He may actually be the most intelligently written character the game has ever seen, and he is very well performed too. It helps that the Hawkmoon quest uses missions and environment props to give background and depth to Crow's story, too.

Having a proper mission to finish the quest was great, too. It reminded me of what we saw with the Ace of Spades mission. I really like when Bungie returns to old or semi-forgotten destinations (like the EDZ with Hawkmoon or Titan's Archology with Ace) and utilises them in a new way. It's a refreshing way to return to them, and it feels like "new-er" content in comparison to Exotic quests that send you through locations you've already experienced in the campaign.

Anyway, I thought this was exceptional. I really hope we see more Exotic quests from Bungie like this, preferably with new Exotics rather than old ones. What do you think?

Ya know if we can get an eververse ornament set for every festival, why not give us one ornament set for each DLC which is earnable through in-game efforts rather than bright dust.

    Posted: 17 Jan 2021 01:31 AM PST

Surely it wouldn't hurt that much to create an ornament set for each DLC when you guys make em for every event. It would really be a welcome change after the bright dust nerf.

Edit: as u/xRyuuji7 has been commenting the season pass ornament set isn't included as DLC content and you need to pay extra for it. So f2p players do not get the seasonal ornament sets unless they buy the pass. I am not asking for an in-game earnable ornament set each season but one per DLC isn't really that hard, and I quite clearly mentioned "for each DLC".

If Destiny 2 is going to remain as a free-to-play game, more emphasis should be placed on the core playlists.

    Posted: 17 Jan 2021 06:26 AM PST

With how much was taken out of the game and cycled into the DCV, a free player doesn't really have much variety in terms of what they can experience. After the New Light missions, your main experience is the Strikes, Crucible, and Gambit playlists, which, as any paid knows, can become extremely monotonous at times. Paid players though at least get other content to play in the meantime. Free players are stuck with core playlists, and even that can be worse than what a paid player experiences because they lack access to specific Weapons that could be dominant.

Strikes, Crucible, and Gambit need some serious love and attention. Besides the Power grind each Season, as well as the Ritual Quests (previously a Ritual Weapon for each, but now one Ritual Weapon with an Ornament for each core playlist), you're really only playing these if you enjoy doing it. None of the three are particularly rewarding, and each playlist had it's content cut significantly, making each feel even more repetitive than ever (Strike playlist losing a bunch of Strikes, Crucible losing a bunch of maps and modes, and Gambit losing a couple maps, Gambit Prime and The Reckoning).

I like the steps being taken with the vendor updates outlined in the recent TWaB. It'll definitely feel more rewarding to play each of these playlists passively. Exclusive Weapons to each playlist (three in each as of next Season) are also nice additions, and hopefully each Season after continues to bring more Weapons cycled in. I do think more can be done though, because again, this is all a free-to-play player has at their disposal, and this would go a long way to supporting the free-to-play playerbase in an effort to hopefully convert them into paid players.

I'm not sure what the solutions are. More Strikes and more Crucible/Gambit maps are always welcome, but that's not enough to make each core playlist feel fresh every so often. I just think it's important to make sure that a good portion of each Season has some focus on improving the core playlists. They don't even have to see changes all at once. I'd welcome a Season with more emphasis on revitalizing the Strike playlist, and another with the Crucible playlist.

Hopefully somebody at Bungie sees this though and understands where I'm coming from though. 🙂

EDIT: I think people are misunderstanding the crux of the post. The current Strikes, Crucible, and Gambit experience don't offer enough for ANYONE, regardless of if you're a paid player or not. I made the emphasis about free players because this is all they have access to, none of which are fully-fleshed out modes that a new player will enjoy enough to want to become a paid player. They'll likely interact with each a few times and dip out because what's there isn't worthwhile.

EDIT 2: Thanks for the awards, everyone!

How to ruin a raid experience.

    Posted: 17 Jan 2021 08:44 AM PST

I am a pretty chill raider. Dont get wound up over wipes or deaths. As long as people stay positive its all good. Dont mind teaching.

Responded to a post last night "dsc fresh, need 2, be chill kwtd". Sounded like exactly what I was looking for. Joined the group. Everyone seemed pretty chill. Ran through the sparrow section and one person was lagging behind. WARNING #1. Asked them if the new the way or wanted me to come back and help them. They ended up leaving and we pulled them into the first encounter.

First encounter, fireteam leader wanted to train a person to be operator. Again NP. Took 10 or 15 minutes and a couple of wipes but eventually got through.

Kept plowing forward to Atrax. Had the FT leader as operator, and I scanned bottom. FT leader asked for volunteers to scan top and dead silence. WARNING #2. One of the group volunteerd but noted they had never done it before. No problem. Took the time to explain the terminals and Atrax call outs.

After a couple of failed attempts getting the mechanics down, we started to wipe without explanation. Asked everyone if they have done this before. Silence. WARNING#3. Tried a few more runs but the guys with me on bottom were doing less than 100k damage. Next run watched and they either were not making it to Atrax and/or they were doing heavy attacks on Atrax. Asked the people if they know the Lament combo and understood the callous, Silence. WARNING#4. Even though nobody spoke up. FIreteam leader explained the combo to silence.

After a few more failed attempts, the most experienced player just left. FT leader asked and I chose to opt out after an hour and a half.

Checked raid report this morning, 2 people hadn't cleared the raid and 1 person only once. The most frustrating thing about this is that if they just spoke up, we could have taken the time to properly explain the rolls and mechanics. Instead they sat in silence and caused the majority of the wipes.

TL/DR: Its ok to be on your first raid run, its not ok to not be open about that. Respect other players time. Tell people if you don't know or understand. If you respond to a post that says KWTD then please, KWTD.

Here's some data I got from dismantling everything:

    1500 packages

    6000 legendary shards

    4500 gunsmith materials

    ~450 enhancement cores

    34 finest matterweaves

    lowest roll - 48 total

    highest roll - 62 total

I miss how enemy species had distinct factions

    Posted: 17 Jan 2021 03:39 AM PST

For those who've played D1, we all remember looking at Fallen for the first time in the Cosmodrome and double taking at times, going "Wait, weren't you guys wearing red earlier? Why are you gold?" Only to realize we stepped out of Devils territory and into Kings territory.

Don't get me wrong. The factions for different species are aesthetically pleasing to look at in D2. But I miss being able to differentiate between Fallen Devils and Exiles, Cabal Siege Dancers and Skyburners, Vex Hezen Collective and Hezen Corrective.

Beyond Light has taken a momentous step in the right direction in that regard. There is a huge difference between the ragged purple of the Fallen Dusk and the fluffy white of Salvation. It'd be amazing if Bungie could update the character models for the different species, let us see the Devils come back in full, and an old Vex subtype. And something other than the Red Legion and their collapsible shields, please.

You can add in option to toggle the "health bars" on or off.

I really miss the Weapon Foundry info on weapons!

    Posted: 17 Jan 2021 10:12 AM PST

Hakke, Omolon, Veist, etc - seeing the designs of the actual weapons, how they handled in game, how they compared to similar archetypes made by different foundries etc.

The difference between a Uriel's Gift False Promises vs a Half-Dan D, that sort of thing. Both are 450s 360s but feel so vastly different. The little things, ya know?

Then you'd have the rare/ancient/possibly even defunct Foundries that put out some fucking heaters like Tex Mechanica, Daito, SUROS, Black Armory etc. Last Word, Jade Rabbit, Izanagi's, etc.

For whatever reason, I think it's sick af when an Exotic weapon has some old ass Foundry name attached to it, idk. Adds a bit of storied mystique behind it.

The coolest part about all of this is that you could pull up a gun and see the Foundry in the top left.

    Some examples :

    Last Word : Tex Mechanica - https://i.imgur.com/FZKg1Ft.jpg

    Kindled Orchid : Black Armory - https://i.imgur.com/TEAfX0E.jpg

    Uriel's Gift : Omolon - https://i.imgur.com/0grJSXn.jpg

I would've loved if the DSC weapons had a cool Braytech logo in the top left. Or if Leviathan/Crown of Sorrows weapons had a cartoon Calus head on the top left with like "Calus Approved!" under it or something. Or if the Moon Lectern weapons had a neat little logo of Eris' ball thingy in the top left.

To my knowledge, we don't really get these on new guns anymore. For example none of the Europa guns have a Foundry logo or anything but I'd like to imagine they were cobbled together by the colonists who used to live on Europa before the Vex shit went down.

The weapon foundries are still very much alive in the game's lore if the seasonal weapons we get are anything to go by. We just don't get the Foundry tags on the guns and have to piece it together ourselves through context clues from ornaments and small cosmetic details on the weapons.

Another weird example - Cold Denial and Falling Guillotine are both Omolon weapons, both got Omolon ornaments, but neither weapon has the old Omolon logo in the top left.

Guns without the tiny Foundry logo kinda feel like they just popped up out of nowhere, which is fine too. That little foundry logo adds that tiny teensy bit of lore/worldbuilding depth that makes guns feel unique.

I don't mean for this come off as a "Bungie can't do anything right" kind of post - just saying I miss this tiny, largely insignificant detail we used to get with weapons.

Bring these back! Hell, make up new foundries!

With 60% of the existing raids being vaulted, the lack of variety was something I didn’t know I’d miss until it happened and I’m slowly starting to lose the drive for raiding, the one and only reason I still play consistently.

    Posted: 17 Jan 2021 09:09 PM PST

Pre beyond light I would always fall back on the variety of raids to choose from when content got dry and each one played different and when you got bored of one, you could just hop into another that was fun and refreshing. No matter how garbage the season was, I'd always go to raids and that was my one and only drive to play the game months after seasonal releases.

Now there are only 3 raids, DSC, garden, and LW. These 3 options don't really satisfy my raiding needs after a while and aren't fun to run over and over again in a way. Let me explain.

So the first is DSC. Great design, unique encounters, what's wrong with it? It's the easiest raid I've played apart from Eater. I feel like if Eater was 4 encounters, it would be comparable and on par with DSC in difficulty. You can only run it so many times before just becoming bored and wondering why you loaded up the raid apart from farming a roll you might not get. The enemies struggle to kill you and once you get good at the mechanics, the raid is so easy. Even with past raids like Crown, Spire, or any other raid, I'd have like 40 clears and I was still feeling challenged by enemies.

The second raid is Garden, a raid that didn't age well at all. Every encounter up to the final boss is somewhat enjoyable but then you get to the sanctified mind and the whole raid run becomes an unenjoyable mess. Everybody I talk to dreads getting to the final boss because it is probably hands down the most unfun raid boss I've ever fought in destiny. For starters he has even more health than Galhran and if you aren't running enhanced relay defenders or specific focused loadouts, you are handicapping yourself, the encounter is buggy, motes sometimes just fall off the edge, sometimes the tether doesn't work, it's just not fun. I think the final boss alone makes me not want to run the raid and every time I'm asked, I respectfully decline unless it's a divinity run which is the only saving grace of the raid.

The third and final raid is Last Wish which is probably the most refreshing and most aged well raid in the game. The encounters are fun, the enemies are challenging but it suffers the kings fall syndrome, it's a super long raid which requires more time commitments from most people. Other than that I don't mind it.

So these are the only raiding options and for the first time in a while I've started to stop doing raids because the whole experience just feels stale. I honestly don't even think VOG is gonna revive raids the way pre beyond light did with the whole catolog and unless Bungie decides to unvault a raid sooner or later, I don't have much interest in raiding. It's stopped becoming challenging and my only drive to run it being the vast catalog is gone leaving some of the more stale raids left leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

Pre Beyond light I also just enjoyed teaching raids to multiple people and with all the new people coming in from the free to play update, most of them hadn't done the several upon several raids since launch and it felt refreshing to go back and visit different raids that were fun to run and fun to teach at the same time. Now that all the more fun and laid back raids are gone, the people remaining that haven't done raids either don't want to do garden cause of the final boss, don't want to attempt last wish cause it's too complicated and if they do run DSC, they kinda get bored after a while cause it's too easy and there isn't a fun incentive to keep going. So now I'm at this point where finding people to teach is near impossible because there isn't a noob entry point to raiding and the raids aren't that fun. Why should I even raid?

Bungie when you error code me in comp matches don’t take my score away, don’t give me a ban, and don’t tell me it’s my fault

    Posted: 17 Jan 2021 04:58 AM PST

This is actually ridiculous. I've been getting error codes the past two days and when in comp matches it tells me I'm the problem. Don't give me a thirty minute competitive ban for your error codes. Also don't make me lose score. I am trying to go legend and I am very close so whenever you give me an error code don't make me lose score.

Edit: I don't think this was internet error codes because I am hard wired into the router and I had other things on that were completely fine. If this was on my end that's one thing but I still think there is a problem that bungie needs to address

Don’t sit on trace rifles in crucible.

    Posted: 17 Jan 2021 06:34 PM PST

I wrapped up a raid recently, being the Divinity bitch as usual. I'm average at best but I loaded up into crucible for some bounties and was too lazy to change my load out and...I did shockingly well with divinity. It just seem to confuse people. It's damage output, visual effects, and little pop of damage when the cage breaks, not to mention the crit spots for team members just really threw people off. Did great for 5+ matches.

The. I threw on Wavesplitter and it get amazing. Was a monster paired with Nezarec's sin. I've never been shot by one in crucible so I don't know what it looks like, but for some reason really good players even those with the highest k/d in the lobby just seem to flounder as soon as it hits. Is there a lot of flinch, or messy visuals on the screen of those getting hit?

Been having a blast with those 2. Divinity is hilariously effective for what's supposed to be a supportive weapon. I highly recommend everyone try them if you haven't.

Hey... did you know that if you do all the Divinity puzzles, then glitch out during the final boss, then rejoin the same fireteam, you WON'T get Divinity?

    Did you?

    DID YOU?!?!?!?

    WELL YOU DO NOW!!!

I swear to God I've never been more angry at this game in my entire life! Garden is absolutely f#%king exhausting AND taking the time to do it with someone who hadn't done it before AND doing all the tether puzzles AND finding 3 separate replacements because Sanctified Mind is a b!#ch and a half, only to not get the only thing I spent FIVE HOURS to get...

Feels bad doesn't even come close

Edit: To clarify, I was the only one who glitched out. The rest of the fireteam wiped and I had to reload my whole game. Then after rejoining the fireteam and finishing the encounter, all other members with the quest received their Divinity while I did not. The host/fireteam leader remained the same the whole time.

Edit 2: Big shout out to Swainoo for looking into this so hard. Even if I didn't get any answers in the end and I just got screwed, the effort deserves serious recognition. Thanks mate! 👏

Edit 3: Yes, I opened the extra chest. Yes, I checked the postmaster. No, it's not available in collections.
