Kinda wish D2 never went F2P

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 10:49 AM PST

This isn't gonna be long, but I kinda wish D2 never went F2P, and the reason for this is simple: Bungie has been focusing on only the aspects that will make them money, instead of improving the core of the game, you can see this with the lazy attempt of having a vendor refresh by giving every core vendor the same armor just with a different coat of paint, they didn't even get new weapons. D2 is a husk, it serves as a money-making machine for bungie, it may not look like it and they can say whatever their PR team says but D2 has been shifted to the side, in favour of their new IP

A Different Perspective: Season of the Hunt has been a total narrative success

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 08:10 PM PST

Wrathborn Hunts suck. They're tedious to grind lures, uninteresting to play, short, and barely qualify as more than a Lost Sector.

But a Season is more than just its core activity. We ask Bungie to focus more on Strikes of Crucible during a Season, but narrative is just as important an element in the success of the game.

Season of the Hunt has given us more dialogue, and more cutscenes, than some entire expansions have in the past. And it's good. The Crow is a very well-written character, and our interactions with him across the Season have been phenomenal. This isn't the usual "oh it's Destiny so the writing is passable but nothing special"—this Season has had an actually good story with fantastic writing and narrative elements in-game.

Obviously Wrathborn Hunts leave a lot to be desired, but I don't think it's fair to say that the Season has been a complete flop. And that's definitely not the impression I think the community should push to Bungie, especially with how lacking certain Seasons have been for narrative progression. Season of the Hunt hits that "evolving world" stride excellently, and while it's core activity is a let down, I think it should still be commended for that.

Can we change the Fallen Brig Brigade triumph from "as a fireteam" to just defeat fallen brigs

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 03:50 PM PST

I'm almost finished with the splintered title except for that Triumph, none of my friends play Destiny anymore and it just feels like a Triumph you could do by yourself...

Freeze on guardians in PvP should work how it effects bosses in PvE.

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 07:22 AM PST

They get slowed x10, they get encased, but they can still move, aim and shoot. Can still be Shattered for a burst of damage.

Considering it's shown freeze Vs guardians is a totally seperate mechanic from freeze Vs enemies in PvE, this change will not effect PvE at all.

The breakout mechanic would have to be reworked as well. Because if you can still fight back while encased, taking 3+ seconds to break out going into a stationary animation is fairly pointless.

It would have to be a lot faster. 1 second maximum. And not deal any damage either. Because you're basically immobilized while in this animation and can't fight back, it being a faster animation and not dealing damage would make sense.

You then have a choice. Fight back and try to kill your opponent, or attempt to break out at the risk of being killed before you break out.

The current problem with freeze in PvP is that once frozen there is zero counterplay. I believe that this change would solve this issue, instead of having to nerf all of the stasis abilities themselves.

    Exept shatterdive, it:

Should have a cooldown after use (10 sec.).

Should not deal inherent damage (currently does 50, it should be 1 or 2 max just so it shatters the crystals or frozen target)

Should also not have any damage resistance during use (currently 50% damage resistance which is crazy for a movement non super ability with zero cooldown)

We like to rail on Bungie for game decisions, but whoever is in charge of music is a god/goddess, here's my top 10. Please share your favourites!

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 05:06 PM PST

"This is a Cayde riff in six, watch me for the changes, and try to keep up!"

    1. Journey - D2 Vanilla (Oh feels, such feels)
    2. The Man they Called Cayde - D2 Forsaken (A perfect musical interpretation of the tone of the story)
    3. Excerpt from Ecstacy - D1 Vanilla (I. am. Guardian)
    4. Lost Light - D2 Vanilla (Strings, emotional pings, such fee-lings)
    5. Watchtower - D2 Forsaken (Go to 2:30, crank it, and enjoy, or do the vault Last Wish encounter, mwahaha)
    6. Guardian - D1 Vanilla (THE song)
    7. Deep Stone Lullaby - D2 BL (Wo, I feel things, poignant things)
    8. Eyes Up - D1 ROI (the duh, duh, duh-uh one)
    9. Remembrance - D1 TTK (I'm sad, and I like it)
    10. The Farm - D2 Vanilla (Wow, I miss you)

Some fantastic melodies here in the game we all love to sometimes love. If you're ever stuck for music to work or study to, stick a few of these on, and thank me later. Or thank Bungie, whatever.

    Ears up, Guardians.9

    *a few honourable mentions!

Gunslinger - D2 Forsaken (With Cayde's Quips, it's glorious ad clear music)

Forge Ahead - D2 Vanilla (Hey Ghaul, I have a surpise for you...)

Ad Victoriam - D1 ROI (SIVA? I was born in SIVA!)

    Mara's Theme - D1 TTK (miss u gurl)

Everyone is mad about the new Season of The Hunt mission right now. I'm really just wondering about that one part from the vidoc where Cabal are standing with Zavala looking at the pyramid projection.

I wonder when that will come and what it leads to. Possible cabal allies?

The Coronation of The Witch Queen, Savathûn - Destiny Lore Artwork

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 12:29 PM PST

    Artwork at: https://twitter.com/attacus_x/status/1346904860126539777
I decided to do a paintover of a classic catholic painting called "The Coronation of the Virgin", but bringing the Witch Queen in Destiny's universe to life.

Now that the Wise King is dead, and Xivu Arath is weakening, Savathûn remains the ultimate mystery in Destiny.
Savathûn is much more than an Hive being -- She transcends the very existence of space and time, harvesting the power of Black Holes to her will, drinking of unknown forces too vast and powerful to our human minds to grasp.
The Space is expanding, Time is passing, the Hive is weakening -- but Her Majesty isn't.

Honestly I’m happy a bunch of people are quitting this game because maybe now the devs might take pvp seriously for once.

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 03:15 PM PST

We feel ignored and left behind. Crucible is straight up awful with stasis and a multitude of problems with incentives to play and loot to chase. We have had no new maps in over a year, no core activity changes, no trials fixes, no vendor refresh, and overall nothing has even been mentioned about what we are asking for. I'm done.

Dear bungie, please buff Skull of Dire Ahamkara.

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 06:15 AM PST

The max amount of super energy you get from this is exotic is only 25% of the bar.
However everyother energy return exotic gives back 50% or more.

Please buff this exotic to give us 50% instead of 25%.

You can literally push Eris off a cliff at the start of the Beyond Light campaign

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 09:39 AM PST

    https://youtu.be/W8mptfKWQ2c

(clip is me pushing her around on a sparrow)

Only happens in the instance straight after completing "Rising Resistance" - for some reason Eris has soft collision and can be moved around (I'm guessing as its straight after a cutscene).

If you move her, then fast-travel to Beyond, it soft-locks, and no characters are there. You have to go to orbit, then fly into Beyond, and unfortunately she's then rock solid.

She fell down into a crevice when I found this out, but next campaign run I'm going to plan the routing to throw her straight into the void.

EDIT: Just tried this in a 2-man, glitch didn't activate. Recommend trying solo

Destiny went from my I need to play this game daily to I'll play the story, raid and not care about it until next expansion.

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 03:58 PM PST

When Destiny has great content it's one of the best games to get invested in but when you watch a game continually decline or fail to innovate on even core mechanics it's upsetting and stale. I will always enjoy the raids and stories for Destiny but I don't think the content here warrants playing it on a daily or even weekly basis anymore and I wish it wasn't in this state.

Season of the Hunt has been a travesty.

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 05:14 AM PST

I fully appreciate the brilliant experience and the nice amount of content we received with Beyond Light. Europa is pretty, the Raid is absolutely incredible (if a bit easy), the endgame activities provide a lot of fun while giving us the ability to target econ materials and new exotics. It's been great.

However, Bungie declared their intention to focus more and more on high-quality seasonal content, and there has been nothing high-quality about Season of the Hunt (aside perhaps from Crow's character).- Xivu Arath boiled down to an underachiever utilizing a shitty fartmist-infested "borrowed" army with no new enemy types- Every important event happening off-screen, ostensibly because Bungie didn't want to pay the voice actors (but we can't REALLY be SURE)- An out-of-season April Fools joke of a 45-second seasonal activity, which requires you to farm charges using the core playlist (which not only received no new content aside from a shitty D1 strike, but also got a lot of the content taken out)- A Hawkmoon quest that, while decent, was basically platforming through the same area a couple of times and killing yellowbars. It was also possible to lock yourself out of finishing it if you threw the balls too fast.- And finally, an insanely low-effort unique quest released yesterday, which takes place in an already existing area, provides absolutely no interesting gameplay or story, is broken in multiple ways, and farcically doesn't even show you a glimpse of Crow's character model when the entire quest is supposed to revolve around you and him hunting the Celebrant together.- Also the seasonal gear is mostly shit, and "high-stat armor rolls" frequently roll in the low fifties.

Season of the Hunt is the most embarassing, trash-tier content this game has ever released in my opinion (and I've been here since the D1 release day), and I think many would agree that another season of this quality would mean a death knell [fixed!] for the game.

I have to ask because I’ve been seeing a lot of talk about it: How many of you forgot that Bungie said seasonal content is now staying until the end of the year it was added?

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 04:56 PM PST

With the launch of the High Celebrant mission lots of people have been recently saying things like 'How are we supposed to farm the ship if it can only be done once a week when the season is close to ending?'

The ship will still be obtainable after Season of the Hunt ends.

Everything from Season of the Hunt is staying until 'The Witch Queen' expansion.

You currently have almost a year to get the ship.

Vendors honestly feel really irrelevant now

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 09:02 PM PST

I'm not tripping here right? Zavala and Shaxx's only purpose seem to be to farm tokens to get legendary shards from, and same with the gunsmith, as well as provide bounties.

Bungie, why cant you bring back vendor specific loot outside of low-stat armour? there are literally weapons in the game that bear Vangaurd and Crucible colours and patterns that were sunsetted. Dont get me started on where the hell Hakke, Omolon and Suros weapons are from the gunsmith. The uniqueness of farming specific vendors has been totally diminished and tokens are entirely worthless.

at least, thats how i see the current state of the game. am i alone here?

We were wrong. It wasn't Activision's fault after all. Destiny has never felt better than D1 Year 2/Year 3 and D2 Year 2. Sure, it had issues, however, it was fun, I was excited every reset. I haven't felt excited since Season of the Worthy.

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 07:12 PM PST

8 Barons, Broodhold Strike, Festering Core Strike, The Red Keep Strike, Navota Strike, Glassway Strike, Nightmare Hunts, Empire Hunts, Gambit after its first Year, ALL 3 DUNGEONS, Vanguard, Crucible, Factions, Vex Offensive, Sundial Bosses.........

Either no returning/unique/enemy themed loot at all, they've been removed, or no refresh since Year 1 or Forsaken.

What have we done since season of the worthy?

Literally.....Public events, Bounties, and Lost Sectors.

I'm lost now. I want to keep going, there's just nothing to grind for. No intentionality, no purpose.

My highlights of D2 was making it to 4200 solo in comp and finding 2 blueberries to finish Not Forgotten with me in Season of the Forge/Season 5. I'm average af in PvP

Getting almost every seal as a mostly solo player.

Reaching 137,000 triumph score as a mostly solo player.

The Exclusive ship from the High Celebant mission, The Fourth Mark, can be farmed

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 06:03 AM PST

The Ship is not a guaranteed drop.

    https://twitter.com/bungiehelp/status/1346899801430843393?s=21

We have identified an issue where the Exotic Ship Reward from the High Celebrant Hunt was not properly showing that it is a "Rare" chance reward in the activity description.

Chances for this reward increase with each activity completion

If you're looking to farm for "The Fourth Mark" exotic ship from this week's new Wrathborn mission, follow these steps.

    • Set Lure
    • Load in
    • Reset Lure
    • Finish mission

You get a guaranteed powerful drop and chance at the ship. Got it on my 12th run.

This game feels like it's in gaming purgatory

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 02:24 PM PST

For starters I like this game a lot, and play a lot; 17 seals, flawless raids, solo flawless dungeons, blah blah. That said, I can't stop this nagging feeling the game is stuck in purgatory. I feel like we're always waiting on the next patch, expansion, season for the game to finally be good.

Waiting for good decisions made by Bungie; good balancing, good loot, something good enough for me to text my friends who got sick of the bologna and get them back into Destiny. Or... waiting for the axe to fall, for Bungie to finally make another "sunsetting" decision and for that to end the game. To be tossed in the pile of deleted games like Anthem and Division.

Does anyone else feel this way?

Obligatory I do take breaks and play other games. Platinum'ing Demon's Souls was a ton of fun!

NF Double Rewards and Platinum Incentive -- Good Idea, Keep it Going

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 09:14 AM PST

The double NF rewards with double Platinum drops made last weekends' NF worth grinding for, in my opinion, since I am fairly frequent solo player and playing at a 'Hero' level made it possible to get a lot of enhancement cores and prisms w/o needing a fireteam to play higher levels.

I hope this can catch on and keep happening over and over to let players like me earn higher level loot to get required materials to upgrade armor to level 10.
