    Hello Guardians,

Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.

We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.

This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion

Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding 'Perk Pools' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

The Division implimented higher difficulty open world for better loot. Would you be open to that if it meant no blue drops, higher rolls on armor, increased XP, more resources, and Glimmer?

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 08:54 AM PST

Personally, I miss the challenge of open world difficulty. If we could have like a Heroic or Master difficulty open world, Public events, patrols and open world bosses would make things fun for planets. Introducing certain weapons and armor to different planets would make them relevant again (looking at you Nessus).

    Thoughts?

Edit: It's great to see the idea is very receptive. Let's keep up the traction! Hopefully the community mangers will see it. But please, only award free stuff. Please spend your money on something worth it.

Edit 2: Good Lord, I did not expect this to blow up this much. Wow! They can't ignore this much interest, can they?

Linear fusion rifles aren’t good enough to be heavy weapons

Please, do something with useless and nerfed to death exotics

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 05:26 AM PST

Why every guardian must run with the same meta loadout instead creating unique ones? Why every fun weapon must be nerfed to unplayable conditions? Why are so many exotics useless junk now (not to mention some of them were complete crap right from the start)?

Jesus, give players some variations! Give some fun! Why is the amazing rocket launcher Deathbringer covered with dust? Why is Black Talon reversal perk still ruined? Why is Sleeper Simulant forgotten? Why are there no choices in this game? If Lament shreds champions into 2 seconds it's obvious I will prefer it over Queenbreaker! I'm literally left without a choice!

What about enhancing all that useless weapons to the top level instead nerfing meta to the ground all the time?

It is able to reflect sunlight pretty well thanks to it having an icy surface. This reflection is measured by Albedo and being one of the brightest moons in the solar system, it is considered to have..... High albedo

Xur should be able to sell Exotic weapon catalysts.

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 09:53 AM PST

For the price of an Exotic Cipher or some other currency or quest, I feel as though Bungie should allow Xur to sell one random exotic weapon catalyst each week. This would make it much easier to allow people to acquire a Catalyst without relying on grinding for random RNG.

With the many strong exotic weapons that some players are unable to utilize at max potential because a catalyst hasn't dropped for them, as well as Xur's inventory being heavily shallow in comparison to his D1 inventory, adding catalysts would make him a more exciting vendor to anticipate for each weekend. Also, with the Izanagi catalyst being unobtainable, adding this catalyst to Xur's inventory would make it more worth it for players to invest their exotic ciphers in buying the weapon.

On a side note, Bungie could also begin creating exotic armor catalysts for those pieces of underwhelming exotic armor pieces that are heavily underutilized. These strengths would increase the diversity of builds and loud outs and make the game a whole more interesting.

Show player damage at the end of Tanik's Final Boss Fight

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 06:01 PM PST

I would love to see how much damage each player does after the Taniks Final Boss fight. This would be great to optimize loadouts. Does anyone else think this would be amazing?

Edit: either after the boss encounter or have a match history tracker that we are able to view later.

Edit: realized that we see damage numbers after beating Prophecy dungeon... so why not raids?

Hey Bungie, once we’ve completed the campaign and unlocks on one character, could we have the option of not having to do it again on another 2 just to unlock the subclass and aspects?

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 05:42 AM PST

I know the story is great, but now that we have a method of picking up quests in the tower, could we maybe put the campaign there for 2nd and 3rd characters so it's an option to play rather than a requirement? It's a huge time commitment (took me multiple days playing it like it was a full time job and not enjoying it at all just to get my second character's unlocks) and sometimes we're happy playing the story missions once and being done with them.

Especially when the subclass unlock missions are the same across all classes, as they are with stasis subclasses, it seems superfluous to make us replay the campaign over and over just to try out the subclass on our other characters.

It’s no secret that PvP needs some more focus and love from bungie. Here’s how I would design a PvP focused season of destiny that works for both PvP AND PvE players.

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 12:10 PM PST

Alright, I'll be the first to admit I'm not a huge PvP player. Remember that these are just general thoughts and ideas of mine. Feel free to share your thoughts. With that out of the way, here we go.

    STORYLINE:

The darkness grows ever closer. And with guardians beginning to embrace it, Lord Shaxx now more than ever is pushing for the expansion of crucible operations to strengthen our bond with each other and our light. At the same time, enemies of humanity are beginning to encroach on crucible combat zones. It's up to guardians to ensure that the city's crucible maps across the system remain safe.

    SEASONAL ACTIVITY (PvE ASPECT)

Safeguard: a 3 (or 6) player matchmade activity that takes place on crucible maps across the system. Your fireteam will fend off increasingly large and more difficult waves of enemies (race of enemy depends on map location). After completing a certain number of waves, defeat a final boss and earn newly forged crucible weapons and armor. The further you get in the activity, the better the rewards. I think this would be a great first step in creating a horde mode. It also wouldn't be too taxing on bungie, given that the arenas are just pre-existing PvP maps, repurposed for PvE.

    NEW PvP MAPS/MODES/UPDATES (PvP aspect)

The main new mode of the season is called Siege. Think of it as reverse gambit. It plays like a match of Clash, but periodically, a wave of enemies of humanity will spawn in the map. They will target both teams, and are damageable by both teams. The team who kills more enemies of humanity in a given wave of enemies will be given a score multiplier for a duration. The team with the highest score wins. There should be a way to target specific weapons and armor in the Siege mode but I haven't figured that out yet lol. Lord Shaxx, in his expansion of the crucible, also brings back Rift as a core crucible mode. Also, fearing the darkness' approach and it's tempting nature to guardians, Shaxx creates a side game mode in which darkness abilities are prohibited (light subclasses only). Shaxx opens a new crucible zone at an abandoned braytech facility on Europa. He also reopens the zones at both the Frontier and Sector 618 on the cosmodrome. For the duration of the season, have a slightly higher chance than normal of receiving new seasonal gear from crucible matches. A slew of sandbox updates also comes with this season.

    REWARDS

Lord Shaxx introduces new sets of crucible themed weapons and armor. He also refurbishes the Two to the Morgue shotgun, the Y-09 Longbow Synthesis sniper rifle, and the Hawksaw pulse rifle.

EDIT: wow guys! Thanks so much for the love and the awards. Seeing some really great discussion too

Sunsetting can't stay one size fits all

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 02:31 PM PST

It's really simple:You can't just give the same 4 season lifespan to all gear. Sunset date needs to reflect where and how the gear was acquired bc you are not just sunsetting the gear you are effectively also sunsetting the associated activities. This has been brought up many times in regards to expansion gear of expansions that are still being sold but the same also holds true for raids , dungeons and even trials. Why is it that only a single dungeon is relevant in terms of loot when we only have 3 in the first place for example? And the solution can't be like they are currently doing it with LW and GoS where drops from this season have been updated but previously acquired gear still has the arrivals cap bc I'm sry but I'm not going to regrind the exact same guns again just bc bungo decided to increase a completely arbitrary number on it .

Yo Bungie! A FULL AUTO Catalyst for Traveler's Chosen would be really awesome.

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 06:28 AM PST

One of my fav sidearms with so much utility would be greatly benefited by a catalyst and I think this one wouldn't overpower the weapon but actually increase the usability of it. Just a thought!

Guide to Destiny 2's Weapon Perks, Abilities, Stasis, and more, with numbers!

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 09:46 AM PST

    Hey Guardians!

These past few months, I have been working on a spreadsheet inspired by u/Soleceon's Weapon Perks: By The Numbers. Initially, I only wanted to reformat the Weapon Perks, but I started to expand it, including Abilities, Exotic Weapons and Armor, and more!

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1WaxvbLx7UoSZaBqdFr1u32F2uWVLo-CJunJB4nlGUE4/edit#gid=1662574278

These have been my efforts at being able to numerically explain the abilities, perks, and other things that Bungie has not given us any concrete numbers on.

This is still very much a Work-In-Progress, so please feel free to contact me or comment in the spreadsheet itself on anything that should be tweaked or revised!

Bungie can we get a small amount of aim assist on Warmind Cells for console?

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 10:52 AM PST

This is a 100% not an issue on PC but for console players and especially those with a high sensitivity hitting warmind cells can be an absolute pain in the ass because they don't have any aim assist attached to them.

A little aim assist would go a long way.

It’s been 271 days since Banshee has sold the Firepower mod. RNG is RNG, but come on Bungie. Literally nobody needs Auto Rifle Ammo Finder. Again.

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 11:06 AM PST

What's more annoying is that I am positive I collected all the mods, but somehow I don't have Firepower or Extra Reserves. Is anybody else in the same boat?

Is there any other way to get these mods? The description in Collections describes the source as "Earn rank-up packages from Banshee-44" but I don't recall getting any CWL mod this way.

    Firepower, for the uninitiated:

While Charged with Light, regain a portion of your grenade energy when you use your grenade, consuming one stack of Charged with Light.

    submitted by /u/kidpotassium
    [link] [comments]

With warmind cells and charged with light destiny needs an actual horde mode that has good design and good rewards more than ever.

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 12:21 PM PST

To elaborate, we have so many ad clear tools, thunderlord, huckleberry, seraph mods/weapons, charged with light, etc. and have nowhere to use them or reason to care. Imagine a horde mode with different level types, wave types, scaling difficulty, endgame difficulty and rewards, etc. Imagine a single super long wave where you have 70 thrall minimum at a time on the screen and a small corridor to work with, essentially mandating the builds we've been handed. Imagine a bunch of waveframe warmind cell builds or huckleberry top tree dawn sunbracer infinite grenade build or 24/7 barricade/thermite grenade spam. Imagine how good it would feel to have a near unmanageable horde that requires the best of the best builds and all the builds work. Make it 3 or 4 players. Imagine how good it would feel to essentially survive and overcome essentially the equivalent of the fucking apocalypse. Imagine actual difficulty in health, mechanics, enemy composition, and enemy density. All are needed to have a good feeling non-boss combat encounter. Also bosses should have more mechanics pls.

TLDR: game is piss easy make game hard so that builds are needed and fun. Also add actual mechanical difficulty that isn't the same ball mechanics over and over they aren't that fun anymore.

Traveled to the future and came back with the next TWAB (/s)

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 08:26 PM PST

Hey there guardians! The community baked a whopping 7,777,777 Cookies! We'll keep this in mind and be sure to bring the same exact event back with fewer meaningful ways to get essence! Now you might be thinking: "What about new loot?". Well fret not because, as always, we've been listening and are one step ahead! Cold front, Avalanche, and Glacioclasm will all be returning for next dawning with a NEW, more POWERFUL infusion cap, and a new seasonal watermark!!

Now if you're worried about a content lull right now, don't because we've got even more overpriced ghost projections coming to Eververse this month! Crimson Days anyone? Now you might be wondering what's next with Hawkmoon and Crow? Stay tuned for the week after next when we'll talk about our plans for finishing Crow's story in the last week of the season!

I know a lot of you have questions for the upcoming season as well, so here's a sneak peak of some changes coming in season 14:

    Revenant subclass ability: Shatterdive

    • Adjustments will be made to reign it in for crucible while simultaneously killing it's utility in PvE
    • Hawkmoon random rolls are unlocked
    • The maps "Eternity" and Emperor's Respite" return to the crucible and all other maps will be vaulted
    • Arbalest now crits on bodyshots
    • Sentinel melee registration couldn't be fixed; sentinel class removed from the game

Now I'll have to save the other exciting stuff for upcoming TWABs, but in the meantime, check out the MotW:

"There's a strange person in my Europa hut..." (Plot twist, it's a husky raid video)

In case you missed it in the title, this is /s...I hope.

We should given +10 points to put where we want on masterworked armour

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 07:54 PM PST

I know this has been spoken about before and it wasn't something bungie ever wanted to implement, but now that armour sun setting is going to happen, which, there's no point debating since it's here whether we like it or not, it's now way more crucial that this change is implemented.

Armour rng is probably worse than weapon RNG, I don't know the math but you've got layers of RNG on what piece you'll get, what the stat roll total is and where the stats are allocated, I have a build with 101 mobility, 99 recovery and 90 intellect, getting another piece that's exactly the same bar 1 for 1 on mobility and recovery, it's just never going to happen.

All that sun setting is going to do is completely spit in the face of the hours upon hours of grind we've had to put in for the perfect pieces of armour for our build (yes I know weapons are equally as bad, but I'm just focusing on armour here), at least if this change is implemented it won't be such a big slap in the face because we have a little more control over how we focus our builds.

Adding a +50 to any stat of your choice is probably going to be considered too powerful, so perhaps since exotics won't be sunset, keep these at a +2 to all stats instead of 10 points to be allocated, or even make it so you can't put more than 5 points into any stat, there will be a way to balance this if it's ever deemed too powerful.

Sunsetting is just going to turn power creep into power decline and that is the last thing anybody wants in a game that is solely focused on you feeling powerful.

Bungie when you eventually update Dreaming City gear to 1410 don't only apply it to new drops.

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 11:36 AM PST

Nothing is a bigger joke than having to farm or get lucky with drops that have some artificial number or symbol applied them again, recently raid gear from certain raids that were not sunsetted had been updated to 1410 power cap but this only applied to new drops from those raids, having received a drop before season of arrivals with it then being updated to 1360 with the season of arrivals symbol applied and then after the season to get the same exact piece of gear with a different roll or stats but having the original seasonal/expansion symbol and 1410 power cap is really annoying and insulting to player time and dedication.

Why even have that middle point during season of arrivals locking all gear to 1360 to then make new drops after that season 1410? This is a poor implementation of sunsetting and absolutely nothing compared to the yearly sunsetting we had in D1.

As a dedicated player I'm really tired of this seasonal sunsetting bs.

As someone who did over 300 menagerie runs, 500 forges and god knows how much reckoning I know you will eventually bring back the same gear with new symbols and numbers next to them that mean nothing.

I'm asking that you respect the players who already put in the time to farm that gear and update it all universally instead of just updating the new drops.
