Had a 12 man Presage, and I one have one thing to say.

We went down as a squad as 12 got picked off 1 by 1. Watched a Screeb rip the light out of my best friend and funnel it into some kind of spore..

A moment of Silence for all our weapons who just missed the cut with Sunsetting.

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 07:10 AM PST

I offer my congratulations to Bungie for doing away with Sunsetting. Yet I mourn for the weapons in my inventory that were just one season too late.

Farewell "Patron of Lost Causes" with Full auto and explosive rounds. I will miss thee.

Anyone else got a gun they're give a final salute to?

EDIT: Holy F*ckin Traveler Spawn RIP My Inbox. I literally drove for two hours and came back to this my god.

I used to carry my son on Destiny, now he carries me.

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 09:13 AM PST

Years ago when D1 came out and my son was 9, he'd watch me play and I'd let him use my character to play too. After he turned 10 we bought him his own console and we set up TVs next to each other. I'd go on LFG here on Reddit and find a group to do the raid with. I'd explain that my son was on and I'd be helping him. Guardians were awesome. They were supportive, kind, and patient. We both have great memories of doing VOG and Crota. He got the icebreaker as a drop first (kid's rng was ridiculous) and then as time went on Kings Fall. After that it seemed like Destiny got a bit more toxic and it stopped being fun. We got D2 but couldn't find anyone willing to do raids and just kind of walked away from Destiny. Fast forward to the past year. My son is now 15 1/2 and back into Destiny for the past 6 months. He's convinced me to get back in it for the past 3 and now I'm relying on him to carry me through challenges like Presage. I haven't had a chance to do a raid with him yet but I'm looking forward to it sometime in the future. If you happen to come across him on Xbox, his gamer tag is Sekris23, tell him his dad thinks he's a great Guardian!

Edit: Wow, I'm humbled by the reaction! Thank you for the great sentiments you have shared and the awards! They're my first!

Did Presage for the first time last night, I wish Bungie got innovative with "immune" phases like they did in this mission

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 07:23 AM PST

Having an actual mechanic, even as simple as pulling levers to cool down a room is better than a shield appearing around the boss while adds spawn in.

Edit: Specifically talking about strikes and the lack of an innovative boss fight.

Please differentiate Precision Frame Shotguns from Precision Frame Shotguns.

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 06:40 AM PST

One changes the recoils patern, the other makes it a slug. Maybe Call one Vertical Frame, and the other just stays Precision Frame.

I wanted to get a nice rolled Retold Tale after seeing it was a Precision Frame, only to realise it wasn't a slug.

Make Vanguard bounties count on Battlegrounds and future Seasonal activities

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 07:52 AM PST

I must preface that I've been really enjoying Battlegrounds, it feels like a good middle ground between having an unique and engaging activity (like we had with Sundial) with a smart use of destinations as its setting. As much as I liked Contact, the lack of matchmaking and the fact it was just an upgraded public event kinda went against it on a fundamental level (and those Heroic Seraph Towers can attest that 👀). Plus, if we happen to get locations revised as Watcher's Grove did this season, this new format would be perfect to stick with imo.

With that said, it felt natural for me that Vanguard bounties would be able to work on what is now essentially a Vanguard activity, and yet they don't. I reckon that's maybe because it's a new addition, or maybe they don't want to take away the focus on running strikes and Nightfall runs, but honestly, I see that as a good thing.

The way I see it, strikes have just become an entry level activity to get yourself acquainted with the runs until you're ready for NF farming, or just have a quick run for your bounties. And, personally as a Forsaken veteran, at this point the least amount of strike I can do the better, and being able to finish my weekly challenge running Battlegrounds instead would be a very welcome change. I still like to run my strikes at the start of the season for those pinnacles, but once I'm done with that, having another chill alternative to finish my bounties without having to wonder why people don't kill Champions in match-made Nightfalls would be nice.

Add scathing Saladin voice lines for people who have gone 2+ minutes without stepping on an objective while your team is at a zone disadvantage

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 05:05 PM PST

I just played an entire game where the only guy on my team who stepped on B did it for special ammo from a kill I got, and he left before we capped it.

    Oh god help me.

Strike Bosses need an update to health if Immune phases have gotten THIS bad.

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 02:40 PM PST

Title; all these high-DPS weapons and builds have gotten so out of hand that Bungie felt the need to implement immune phases into Sepiks and SABER.

    It's basically a glorified timer.

I'd rather spend an extra 3-4 minutes having to attack the boss proper instead of spending that same time meandering around as I shoot their backup dancers and wait for their immune shields to go down.

Gambit is in desperate need of developer attention.

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 12:53 PM PST

As it stands, Gambit is a race to see who can bank motes quicker while seeing who cam find heavy ammo to invade with their Truth/Eyes of Tomorrow/Jotunn.

The boss fight means literally nothing. 4 Thundercrash or Chaos Reach and the primeval is gone with x2 Primeval Slayer.

I used to love this game mode all the way up til Season of Opulence. But since this new Gambit replaced Prime and OG Gambit it's just not been the same.

Why do 1300 Engrams Focus DOWN to 1297?

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 09:56 AM PST

It's quite frustrating to have 1300 Engrams focus and decrypt to 1297 gear, when you're sitting at 1300+ light. They should be focusing\encrypting on-level at least.

Successful megasherpa Parent-Child DSC raid thanks to the glitch.

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 01:19 PM PST

Here's an unedited, and frankly not that interesting video of the whole surprisingly wholesome ordeal. https://youtu.be/e_ro1Dy9820 But it's definitely going to be high up in the fun memories category for us. (Skip to 58 minutes for my personal favorite moment)

My daughter loves playing destiny with me, but she always felt left out when I would raid with my grown-up friends. She's getting better at playing, but I wanted to make sure she didn't feel like she was being carried.

I organized a parent-child raid a few weeks back and ended up with a lot of interest. Leading up to it I helped my child grind up to 1260 and we even had our raid snacks picked from the Destiny cookbook. (Hush-puppies and the S'more Bark.). My wife and I made "The Vow" as she was fully onboard for my endeavour.

I started getting nervous, because being a raid sherpa for adults is hard, but looking at a sign up list with 5-6 children aged 7-11 I started to worry and began to plan for two raids, filled with my PVE-sweat friends.

Then I heard about the glitch and we knew what we had to do: 6 adults, six kids one mega 12 man raid.

It took a few tries, but we got loaded in with twelve people, and the result was 1 hour and 53 minutes of great memories.

It was really fun figuring out some of the challenges that come from having too many trigger happy kids in challenges where errant bullets can cause a wipe mechanic to trigger.

The most fun section was the Sparrow section. The frostbite glitch actually glitches itself with soany players and people would randomly get the debuff, even after passing the final airlock, so all the kids eventually made it the whole way through with the adults being as close to actual sherpas as you can be.

In the end, it was successful, and in the finest tradition, the guy with with four EoTs got his fifth.

To that person that made the post on how each classes' jump ability works, THANK YOU.

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 03:15 PM PST

I just got done with my daily Legend Lost Sector grind, spawned back at the flag and saw a Season Level 1 Warlock try to climb into Exodus Garden 2A. Thanks to that old post mentioned in title I remembered how Warlock's hover/glide ability works and was able to help this New Light out. Probably the most precious moment I had in the game so far, glad to be positively impacting someone new's experience.

That also made me realize that the text/local chat is rarely ever used, if at all. I fondly remember Warframe's random chat conversations during missions, while waiting on a timer or something. Perhaps we can get Destiny to that level sometime, as well!

    Destiny Dad Level Up

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 05:00 PM PST

So, my son turns 13 tomorrow and he's getting his own PS4 and account. No PS5s...I've been trying and never Wario64 never landed when the loot was right.

My son has been playing on my characters for the last month and has been loving the game. He stepped into some trials LFG on his first week and got 3 wins. He's done some 100k NFs. He's actually impressing me and he wants to go flawless so bad.

Tomorrow evening he gets his own system and heads to his moms for the week. I can't wait to help him level up and get rolling.

I feel like I'm passing a torch. It's pretty awesome; my boys have casually played on my Titan and warlock and then my oldest just dove in. I'm a little scared for a 1v1 once he gets some guns.

    Wish me luck.

I hope when VOG returns, it has the same loot system as DSC

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 07:55 AM PST

That system in the DSC was very good and gave a lot of incentive to run the raid more and more even after doing your pinnacles.

Really enjoyed that system and i hope they implement it

I've missed being an Iron Lord so I made myself a shield!

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 08:40 AM PST

https://imgur.com/a/bFxsegb Since ROI I've loved the whole theme of the iron lords and I especially like the Iron Banner logo which I thought would translate well onto a viking round shield. This is my first time making something like this but I think it turned out alright.

The way the seasonal artifact works is infuriating

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 03:02 PM PST

The 12 total seasonal mods you can acquire is limiting enough as it's not even half of the total 25 total seasonal mods. The unlock tiers of the artifact is the worst part tho. As a titan I want to use focusing lens and volatile conduction for PvE mainly. If I ever want to play competitive PvP though I want glacial inheritance and in order to do so I have to reset my artifact, since out of the five mods in the last tier only 2 can be unlocked at any time. It'd be mildly annoying if it was only 10,000 glimmer each reset, but resets increase the glimmer cost each time, so I'm paying 50,000 glimmer only a few weeks into the season because I want to enjoy the different game modes Destiny has to offer with the mods that benefit me most. The system is broken and limits player builds far too much. Either remove the increased glimmer cost per reset or don't limit us to 12 total mods.

My 1st ever Reddit Post: Thank You Destiny Community for a Dream-Come-True Moment

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 09:24 PM PST

I just wanted to share with everyone that I've been playing Destiny since day one and in that time my 5 year old turned into a teen and I got another baby boy along the way. This weekend I finally got to be in a fireteam w my two sons and we all played Iron Banner together. In one match, Fox got 20 kills, I got 10 and Hawk got 5! It was magic. Playing Destiny with my kids is a dream come true for me, and I'm so grateful to all the players who were kind to them and helped make them feel awesome. You're all a classy bunch of players when kids jump in, and I just want to thank you all for making my simple little dream come true. Bungie - (Mark Noseworthy and Luke Smith especially! Devs too!) thanks. Been a rough year for everyone out there - and I needed this little lift... I've never posted before on Reddit, but had to share. I have linked a Twitter image below, my sons picked out my shader - so apologies in advance :)image of me & my boys!
