Destiny Sunday Plz - Increase Our Vault Size!

Sunday Plz - Increase Our Vault Size!

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 01:00 AM PDT

    Greetings Guardians!

Ever since the conception of this sub, we've dealt with floods of reposts. We're sure you're familiar with them. Many are for important issues that are shared by the entire player base, while others are just for personal requests and desires for the game. The Bungie Plz was shortly implemented after conception as a central "wish-list" for all that we, the community, desired. It is completely user driven. With rare exceptions, nearly all submissions are sent in by you, the users of this subreddit!

However, just like Destiny 2, our wiki article began to experience problems as it grew over time. It's been getting just a few sizes too big. We understand that the continued addition of topics has begun to encroach on your ability to continue the conversation towards matters that mean the most to you, and even though the Bungie Plz has seen so many successes over the years, with well over 100 officially implemented game suggestions and desires, there's still dozens upon dozens of retired topics that haven't seen the light of day for many months...even years!

Every Sunday, this thread will focus on a certain retired Bungie Plz topic of your choosing, voted by the users. We will curate a list of 5 suggestions to help focus your voting process, but you get the final say on what is talked about each week. By all means, if one topic is overwhelmingly desired despite not being part of those 5 items we picked, then we'll be happy to go with that one. Our curated list is only to help you focus the conversation. The only stipulation is that the topic must be new every week. This thread is for the entirety of the Bungie Plz wiki, so no back-to-back voting!

Think of these threads as a way to keep the spark alive, and to bring old topics up to fresh light. For example, do we still want to move Queenbreaker to the special slot? Or does Arbalest serve that purpose well enough now? Do we still want an all-black shader, or do we want a character barbershop more?

You tell us! This is your conversation, guardians.

For this week, you voted on:

    Increase Our Vault Size Please!

For next week, here are some suggestions:

    • Make Warlock bonds more cosmetically distinct and appealing
    • Add a Crucible mode without Heavy and/or Supers
    • Allow Class Items to be pulled from collections
    • Increase the teleport cooldown for powerful tier enemies
    • Veteran Dialogue option for PC players (and console)

Sound off in the sticky comment for which one sounds good (just give us a moment to put it up), or anything else in the Bungie Plz wiki that catches your eye, and we'll do our best to accommodate!

Switching armor elements should unlock rather than switch.

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 10:30 AM PDT

Switching armor elements cost a ton. Generally speaking it is easier to farm another piece of the armor and upgrade that one rather than switch it. But I think that if you pay the insane amount to switch from void to arc it should unlock those permanently. I would be fine spending that amount if I could then switch back and forth. But to pay an ascendant shard to switch just isn't realistic. If I want all the available it would cost that again but I think that is reasonable.

Severe lack of legendary kinetic special weapons.

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 01:24 PM PDT

List of kinetic special weapons spared from the turd that is sunsetting.

    Shotguns
Blasphemer, Heritage, Toil and Trouble, Astral Horizon.

    Sniper Rifles
Succession, The Supremacy, Long Shadow, Eye of Sol, Bite of the Fox.

In the case of Shotguns, Blasphemer is easily obtained but wouldn't be here if it weren't for being reprised, Heritage is locked behind a raid and is therefore inaccessible for solo players or players with anxiety, Toil and Trouble is buried under a massive loot pool on top of already having a low drop rate and Astral Horizon might as well be unobtainable due to how unreliable ToO is.

This leaves one legendary kinetic Shotgun most players can easily obtain without issue, but if you don't like slug Shotguns you're out of luck.

In the case of Sniper Rifles, Succession and Supremacy are both raid weapons and the previously mentioned inaccessibility applies here as well, Long Shadow is buried under the same loot pool as T&T, Eye of Sol is effectively just as unobtainable as Astral Horizion and BotF only comes around once a month.

This leaves ZERO options most players can easily obtain without issue.

    Meanwhile in the energy slot...

    Shotguns
FILO, Xenoclast, Retold Tale, IKELOS SG V2, SS CQC, Felwinter's Lie, Bonechiller, Wishbringer, Retrofuturist, Prophet of Doom.

    Sniper Rifles
Adored, Omniscient Eye, Apostate, Distant Tumulus, IKELOS SR V2, Widow's Bite, Far Future, Frozen Orbit.

There are TEN energy Shotguns and EIGHT energy Sniper Rifles, both of which have several easily obtained options without even having to think about endgame activities.

There is a massive gap between kinetic and energy weapons which makes itself even more apparent in the case of special weapons, so Bungie PLEASE do something about this as it is extremely frustrating not being able to run exotic energy primaries while maintaining relevancy against harder targets because all your kinetic special options have been rendered useless thanks to one man's obsession with turning D2 into D1.

You don't even have to dig up and try to find a space for old weapons, simply pick out a few energy weapons from the overabundant supply and convert them to kinetic.

And while we're at it, please consider reprising Militia's Birthright or converting Truthteller to kinetic since we were also robbed of our only kinetic Grenade Launchers.

Not everything in this game should be achievable by everyone and thats ok.

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 06:51 PM PDT

This is in regards to people saying gms lock the best loot behind super difficult content.

I personally dont see this as a bad thing. Nightfalls especially gms have lacked loot insentive for awhile so adding cool guns isnt bad.

I really dont understand, adepts arnt some big step up from normal, they can just slot a slightly better mod so people arnt missing out on much.

But now even youtubers are saying how it "isnt accessable enough". IMO it is accessabke enough you just have to work to get there and with that work being trimmed down next season i see no reason why we would need to make ot "more accessable"

Idk maybe im missing something but I believe the vest loot should be behind the best content.

It would be cool to "infuse" your kill tracker from a sunset weapon into its new version

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 07:54 AM PDT

It would be a small way to honor the time spent with your favorite weapons without losing your hard earned kill count display. It wouldn't feel quite as pointless to walk away from a perfectly good gun.

Edit: Maybe easier/better to select a tracker like we can for emblems? Put it on the cosmetic page of the weapon next to the shader and ornament.

    Something magical happened.

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 01:06 PM PDT

After learning that the hand cannon is this weeks bounty reward in trials, I quickly hopped on bungie.net to post an LFG.

I titled the post "chill trials for bounty. Trying for wins" several seconds go by and I had a fire team. They quickly joined on me. We did not use mics, and couldn't use text chat bc the shit is broken.

I just assumed they were ready and started the match. We won the first game after coming down to a 4/4 wire thanks to a behemoth titan super. Next game we 5-0'd them. At that point I'm thinking maybe just maybe we have a slim chance of going flawless. Well.. we started winning game after game; getting two hand cannons which I got a pretty good roll on both.

Got to the flawless game and absolutely somehow stomped the enemy team, thus giving me my first flawless ever. I was definitely able to hold my own but I think some undercover pvp god just so happened to pick my LFG and carry me.

TL;DR: Only expecting to get the bounty done we went flawless with two randoms on LFG with no communication whatsoever.

Bungie, you don't have to add so many bits and bobs to armour. Sometimes the cleaner and simpler is better.

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 01:42 AM PDT

I've seen an increase in the amount of "stuff" on armour. Take for example the Seasonal Ornaments for season of Arrivals, Hunt and Chosen.
I'm not saying that we should have straight boring gear, but we don't need so many bars, pipes, spikes, knives and things hanging off. I believe that armour with less of these things tend to be better received.

We could really do with a Void SMG

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 08:09 PM PDT

Basically the title. With SMG being basically a featured gun type this season with its overload ability, and match game being a thing, would be really helpful to have a Void SMG to enable build variety.

What happens when you teabag another guardian on the moon.

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 08:24 AM PDT

I was just coming out of a moon LS this afternoon, and me and this guy stared at each other like intimate lovers and teabagged at the exact same time. I gave him a hug and we played pattycakes, and then he pulled out his ghost. I walked off slowly while staring into his eyes, and mourned, for my lover was gone. Then, i was shocked to see he had joined my fireteam instead of leaving, and i was overwhelmed with happiness. We jumped straight into the prophecy dungeon which i had a checkpoint for and ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED the phalanx echo. Like lovers. Hand in hand, we ventured into the wasteland and had it done within afew minutes. Then, we went into the cube. Although, there was one heartbreaking secret. I had no time left to play. My little brother demands that he has his go on the playstation, and tears well in my eyes. I message him on the ps network, and bid farewell. One last hug.

If your out there bro, thank you. You made my day. Cheers.

    Edit: 700 upvotes??? What?

    Eriana’s Vow Catalyst Quest

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 06:51 PM PDT

After 1.5 years, I have finally obtained the catalyst for Eriana's Vow

Bungie, could you please make the catalyst quest progression bonuses retroactively effect older quests. I don't think newer players who just now get Eriana's will like having to do 400 playlist activities. It's honestly ridiculous.

Fixing Trace Rifles: General Changes, Coldheart, and More

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 03:39 PM PDT

I'm a big fan of Trace Rifles, but they are objectively in a poor state right now compared to other special weapons. I took some time to think up some general quality of life changes and specific reworks (from overhauls to catalysts) for each exotic to give them some much-needed love. I hope you enjoy reading!

    All Trace Rifles

    • Ammo reserves increased by 30%.

    • Trace Rifle Dexterity, Trace Rifle Loader, Trace Rifle Reserves, Trace Rifle Scavenger, and Trace Rifle Targeting mods have been added.

    • Trace Rifles now have compatibility with Auto Rifle-based Champion mods at no additional energy cost to provide an incentive to run them in endgame activities and to provide uniqueness compared to other special weapons which normally require a specific higher cost mod.

    Coldheart

    • Cold Fusion now has the effects and flavor text of Longest Winter to make room for another perk.

    • Cold Fusion (formally Longest Winter)'s exponentially increasing damage has been increased up to 40%.

    • Added a 2-second timer that activates when Coldheart stops damaging a target which allows it to resume increased damage as a margin of error.

    • Gains Fourth Time's the Charm.

    Prometheus Lens

    • Prometheus Lens' base damage has been increased by 15%.

    • Prismatic Fire now sets enemies on fire after 3 seconds, dealing moderate burn damage over time for a short duration.

    • Flame Refraction now also has a 30% chance of regenerating the entire magazine when killing burning enemies instead of only partially returning ammo from reserves.

    Wavesplitter

    • Harmonic Laser's first and second power levels have had their damage increased by 5% and 10% respectively and transition between phases 2 seconds quicker. Maximum power's damage has been increased by 15% and lasts 2 seconds longer.

    • Catalyst added to synergize with Supercharged Battery: Supercharged Battery's period of maximum power lasts twice as long. Can be refreshed.

    Divinity

    • Gains Overflow as a catalyst.

    Ruinous Effigy

    • Reverted previous nerfs to Ruinous Effigy.

Elemental Well build with Ashen Wake: Set the world on fire!

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 10:17 PM PDT

Want to make Lord Shaxx happy with more grenades thrown?

Want to make Mario jealous with how many fireballs you can toss?

Then this build is for you!

*imitates Churches voice* "I could blow up the whole goddamn world with this thing."

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTbnLm2z4PQ

I tried to make a quick spam grenade Ashen Wake build about 6 months ago by stacking Firepower mods, but found it too tedious to constantly go searching for orbs to charge me with light. Introducing elemental well mods! Everyone saying these mods suck obviously hasn't tried this.

Ingredients: Bottom tree Sunbreaker, Ashen Wake gauntlets, Firepower mod x3, Elemental Ordinance, Elemental Charge

With this setup, when charged with light, throw a grenade to get 45% of your grenade energy back instantly. If you get a kill with that grenade, Ashen Wake gives you 20% grenade energy per enemy killed. This also heals you with bottom tree Sunbreaker and makes a sunspot. Run over to your sunspot which will have an elemental well nearby if not inside it. Picking this up gives you another 10% grenade energy and the sunspot gives Sunwarrior buff that will supercharge your remaining grenade energy. This also gives you Charged with Light x2 so you can start the process over again!

Seriously folks, you can run around patrols and throw grenades more often than if grenadier was turned on. Each kill heals you. Throw on Ashes to Assets for quicker super recharge. If you feel like you are getting your grenades back fast enough, switch out one Firepower mod for Font of Wisdom for that sweet 30 second Intellect buff. Quick supers for even more flaming fun.

For a comparable build on Hunter or Warlock for grenade throwing goodness, use Young Ahamkhara's Spine or Contraverse Holds exotics.

Do you think Trace Rifles could use a buff? A rework? Divinity is in a good spot, but I can't really say the same for the other ones.

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 05:32 AM PDT

Maybe even a damage buff, or some kind of trace rifle scav mod? You could balance it with Divinity by making other traces primary, and then having the trace rifle scavenger mod only work with those primary ones. Divinity is a really solid support weapon, and it's one of my main PvE weapons, but the other ones are really falling flat and could use a couple protein shakes.

Anyone else feel like they don't really warrant both the special and exotic slots, or is it just me?

edit: primary, not kinetic. Long day lol

More Warlock Robes that don't cover both legs

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 04:40 AM PDT

Warlock fashion is largely based on just the robes and the helmet. If we had more Robes that didn't cover the whole bottom half, we could have more value in our leg ornaments. An example is the Virtuous Robes ornament from season of dawn. This allows you to show off that cool leg ornament.

I ran 25 Grandmaster Nightfalls. This is what I got.

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 02:40 AM PDT

I've been running a bunch of GM nightfalls this week and thought it might be interesting to see the loot drops for anyone considering investing time. I think I've been fairly fortunate with RNG on these runs (especially on shards). From 25 runs I got:

    • 15 Adept Swarm
    • 8 Adept Spec
    • 14 Exotic Armour
    • 22 Ascendant Shard
    • Around 18 Prisms (I forgot to count these so it's probably actually a lot more.. like, closer to 30. I maxed out somewhere along the way)

All of these runs were LFG on D2Sanctuary discord. Some of them were repeats with the same team, others totally random and a few GM first timers in there too. No mics were used for any of the runs, and in-game chat was down for 4 or 5 of them.

The teams were totally diverse too. After a couple of initial runs I realised this GM was one of the easier ones, so I used that to work through the subclass GM triumph on my Warlock. The smoothest runs were with people who were all running high-burst DPS supers (I mostly ran top-tree voidwalker), though I had people who weren't interested in joining unless someone was running well/ursa.

Pretty pleased with the overall drops. I managed to get a surplus/vorpal and outlaw/ofa Swarm and the adept big ones spec which were my goals.

You should be able to save your god rolls in your Collections...

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 06:14 PM PDT

Imagine being able to save one of your current rolls in the Collections tab, instead of having a stock version that you can't even reacquire. This would help free up vault space, especially for sunset weapons with too good of a roll to just delete. It would obviously cost some resources to do so, but would be a good long term investment seeing sunsetting has been sunset. This could also work to some extent if you have acquired the curated version of a gun (i.e. curated Last Wish weapons). They would be able to be purchased at any time just like pinnacle ones. I don't want to keep two versions of the same gun in my vault just to know I got the curated at some point.
