Bungie Plz - Allow Us To Reroll A Weapon's Masterwork

    Posted: 16 May 2021 01:00 AM PDT

    Greetings Guardians!

Ever since the conception of this sub, we've dealt with floods of reposts. We're sure you're familiar with them. Many are for important issues that are shared by the entire player base, while others are just for personal requests and desires for the game. The Bungie Plz was shortly implemented after conception as a central "wish-list" for all that we, the community, desired. It is completely user driven. With rare exceptions, nearly all submissions are sent in by you, the users of this subreddit!

However, just like Destiny 2, our wiki article began to experience problems as it grew over time. It's been getting just a few sizes too big. We understand that the continued addition of topics has begun to encroach on your ability to continue the conversation towards matters that mean the most to you, and even though the Bungie Plz has seen so many successes over the years, with well over 100 officially implemented game suggestions and desires, there's still dozens upon dozens of retired topics that haven't seen the light of day for many months...even years!

Every Sunday, this thread will focus on a certain retired Bungie Plz topic of your choosing, voted by the users. We will curate a list of 5 suggestions to help focus your voting process, but you get the final say on what is talked about each week. By all means, if one topic is overwhelmingly desired despite not being part of those 5 items we picked, then we'll be happy to go with that one. Our curated list is only to help you focus the conversation. The only stipulation is that the topic must be new every week. This thread is for the entirety of the Bungie Plz wiki, so no back-to-back voting!

Think of these threads as a way to keep the spark alive, and to bring old topics up to fresh light. For example, do we still want to move Queenbreaker to the special slot? Or does Arbalest serve that purpose well enough now? Do we still want an all-black shader, or do we want to bring back Prismatic Matrix?

You tell us! This is your conversation, guardians.

For this week, you voted on:

Allow us to reroll weapon masterworks

For next week, here are some suggestions:

    • Reintroduce the Faction Vendors
    • Rework the Black Talon Catalyst
    • Give Arcstriders a Ranged Super (E.g. Valkryie)
    • Allow Sleeper and Outbreak to generate Warmind Cells
    • Move The Queenbreaker into the special ammo slot

Sound off in the sticky comment for which one sounds good (just give us a moment to put it up), or anything else in the Bungie Plz wiki that catches your eye, and we'll do our best to accommodate!

So, this season Fighting Lion will stagger unstoppables, debuff bosses and champions, generate warmind cells, synthesises ammo on every kill, do increased damage to shields on direct hits and reload the magazine on rapid hits.

    Posted: 16 May 2021 10:32 AM PDT

If you have the catalyst, it'll generate orbs as well.

And to top it all, it runs on primary ammo.

Edit: oh yes, since it uses primary ammo. You can pair it with a special ammo kinetic. With the new seasonal launcher, you can run triple launchers. Or have a shottie

    Going to be awesome

Just a reminder that matching teams with 50 flawless tickets on a 0 win card feels like shit.

    Posted: 16 May 2021 02:36 PM PDT

Just suffering through doing a little trials for some SMG rolls.

Fully understand I'm trash and I'll never go far in trials, but matching fireteams with dozens (one guy over 50) flawless tickets when we collectively have none on a 0 win card is utterly illogical and well, feels like shit.

Make seasonal activities count as playlist activities

    Posted: 16 May 2021 03:07 PM PDT

As the mentioned in the title. Personally find it a little silly that the activity that you should theoretically want us to spend most of our time in doesn't count for so many quests like the ritual weapon or the exotic catalyst.

It’s not fair how the Creative and Dev teams are constantly delivering amazing work, which is then severely tainted by decisions from e.g. the Player Investment and Eververse teams

    Posted: 16 May 2021 05:03 AM PDT

It's understandable that you want players to spend more money, and the models probably show that aggressive monetization works well enough, but your actions seem to suggest that those models don't account for how your decisions affect player goodwill. Being generous = more goodwill = more Silver purchases.

Epic Games for example understands this so well; the Fortnite Item Store prices are pretty fair, and not only do they reward enough V-Bucks (Silver) in the Battle Pass to buy the next one, they also freely give V-Bucks away on a weekly basis to people who made a one-time purchase of the PvE aspect of the game until recently.

Respect not just players more, but your colleagues and their work as well. It will pay off.

Bungie: whatever happened to quests that had options of PvE OR PvP kills? Why do catalysts require both?

    Posted: 16 May 2021 03:15 PM PDT

I'd honestly take a catalyst (Cryosthesia) that required 1000 PvE kills with it instead of having to go into the crucible and slog out kills with the gun.

I'm not a PvP player. I'm ok not getting PvP unique things, but the catalyst here isn't a PvP item. If it only dropped from PvP I get making the steps require PvP.

But for general weapon catalysts and quests, can we get OPTIONS???

Kinda joking, kinda not, but Destiny should have LEGO sets to boost revenue so the actual game can have less paywalls.

    Posted: 16 May 2021 05:23 PM PDT

I'm sure it's a dumb idea, but just read me out.

I was looking at Steam population stats for Destiny 2, and it's kind of a grim picture. Spikes on DLC drops, with a downward trend in population in between. Destiny needs some young bloods to get in on their game.

How do you do that? LEGO.

What's fun about Destiny is building the character. Crafting armor that not only works well but looks cool.

I could see sets that would build very similarly to the more modern (2016) BIONICLE sets, and you pick six sets per year to release as a base "light" faction and six as a base "darkeness" faction.

The light would allow for maybe 3 (hunter, warlock, Titan) stock characters in specific armor sets from raids, and 3 characters in the game that belong to the 3 archetypes. The same with the darkness.

Titan sets (as BIONICLE used to call them — essentially bigger more expensive builds) could be heavy ads.

Collectors sets would be raid bosses and raid locations. They'd be the most expensive and the most elaborate.

You could monetize further with weapon, armor, and sparrow packs for the base annual sets to further customization.

I just see a big void in lego since BIONICLE and Hero Factory failed, both of which failed due to the world building just not being there. There's nothing that younger teens can get into like BIONICLE. That's where Destiny could shine in LEGO. Plus it's something that adults could get into. Also, no need to nerf or buff.

    Would love some constructive feedback!

EDIT: I do know they have Mega Bloks sets, although I didn't before this post, so thank you for showing me that I'll be blowing some money on Atheon come next paycheck. What I'm asserting is that the ecosystem (Legoland, books, movies, different building mechanics, etc), marketing ability, and clout that Lego provide would be a huge exposure boost to the Destiny franchise and would give the Lego brand another opportunity to attract both kids and adults like they do with Star Wars.

If Bungie brings Super Good Advice back into the game, Failsafe should be uploaded into the gun and talk to us after kills

    Posted: 16 May 2021 09:27 AM PDT

I remember the lore of the gun talking about how the gun had a personality and would talk to the wielder, and it would be super fun to have it reimagined with Failsafe's AI being the voice talking to us.

Override/seasonal activities should count towards Xur's exotic cipher quest

    Posted: 16 May 2021 04:49 PM PDT

Title, basically. Seems silly that only crucible and gambit wins, and strikes, count for progress. Override takes almost the same amount of time and can actually be fun! Or just make activity completions count towards it

So Bungie...Can we crank those playlist drops up to 11?

    Posted: 16 May 2021 08:20 PM PDT

Now that there are 4 unique weapons in each playlist with an obscene amount of perks on them, can we consider supercharging those drop rates? I'm talking like getting a weapon every activity kind of turn up. I haven't seen a Xenoclast since the first weeks of last season in the strike playlist. Whenever I do get a drop there is almost always seems to be Third Axiom. I've also done five strikes in a row (with prosperity on my ghost) and only gotten blues from the strike chest. I'm beginning to wonder if prosperity has bugged out for me and preventing drops. I also acknowledge RNG be like that tho.

    Crank. Those. Drops. DO IT.

Please for the love of Cayde reduce the amount of invincibility phases on the Fanatic fight or remove them entirely

    Posted: 16 May 2021 08:40 PM PDT

I won't hide it I hate invincibility phases especially on what is supposed to be a relatively quick activity. Fanatic goes invincible 5 or more times during the fight I propose this is reduced to 2, one per large enemy group.

Imo they shouldn't be any invincibility phases on strike bosses but I can manage with 2 or 3. The boss fight alone takes up as much time as the rest of the strike which is absurd. Not to mention the number of people who just leave because it is the fanatic strike.

    Thanks

Bungie should reissue old Gambit weapons and make them exclusive to Drifter rank-up packages

    Posted: 16 May 2021 03:33 PM PDT

Currently when you open an engram from the Drifter it's just the same as the world engrams. It would feel a lot more exciting if they had the possibility to drop weapons such as Bygones, Trust, Hazard of the Cast, etc.

The Crucible and Vanguard vendors could use this treatment too, but personally it seems like more players need incentive to play Gambit than the other two modes.

What would you think about this change?

Amanda accidently got an innocent Eliksni killed by being sassy as hell

    Posted: 16 May 2021 11:05 AM PDT

Edit: Apparently one of the pieces of lore I cited doesn't come out till week 2 of the Season. If you wanna avoid spoilers, I don't suggest you read further. Apologies.

I found this delightfully disturbing story in the new lore for Season of the Splicer, and I haven't seen anybody talking about it, so I figured I'd make a post.

TL;DR: Amanda Holliday accidentally got an innocent Eliksni lynched by teaching him curse words.

In the lore book Beneath the Endless Night, the entry III - Gifts from the Shore shows Saint-14 and Amanda Holliday receiving a shipment of gifts and supplies for the Eliksni Quarter that Crow stole from Spider. As Amanda is working through some shipping manifests, she has the following exchange with an Eliksni worker:

Amanda turned back to the Eliksni. "That ain't exactly right, but you speak our language pretty well," she said.

"Thank you," answered the Eliksni, clearly eager for conversation. "Do all Humans here serve Spiderkell?"

"Serve Spider?" Amanda spat. "Spider's nothing but a—" and the five spirited words that followed were replete with hard consonants.

The Eliksni froze, wary of her tone while not understanding her words.

Amanda caught herself and took a breath. "…which is our way of saying he's a kind and generous individual," she said to the Eliksni, who nodded along with her.

Amanda cursed out the Spider, and, careful not to offend the Eliksni she was speaking with, told him that her cursing was a compliment. So, that Eliksni ended up thinking that the English words for "kind and generous" were a bunch of swear words. We catch up with this Eliksni in the lore entry for the auto rifle Chroma Rush:

Finally, the Eliksni lowered the empty bowl. It breathed in as the blue mist resumed its thin spray. It looked toward Maurice. "I tasted all of it," it said with deep satisfaction. "I am very thankful."

Maurice's grin turned into a tentative smile. "Glad you enjoyed it."

The Eliksni stood and held out what looked like a small model of the Traveler. It glowed as it floated in the Eliksni's palm. "Compensation," it said.

Maurice reached to take the treasure, then drew his hand back. "For new customers, there is no charge," he said. "No compensation. Thank you for coming in."

The Eliksni cocked its head, then clucked and the model vanished beneath the folds of its cloak. It smiled at Maurice.

"You," it said, then cleared its throat with a rumble, "you are a—" and the five spirited words that followed were replete with hard consonants.

It's clear that the Eliksni means to thank the shop owner by calling him a kind and generous individual, but ended up cursing at him using the words he learned from Amanda. Taken by themselves, these entries tell a fun little story about how language barriers can create some awkward moments.

However, this is where the story gets really dark. In the lore entry for the machine gun Shattered Cipher, we follow Helena, a human woman who has been summoned by her mother to an abandoned building in the Last City for unknown reasons. It's clear that the mother is doing something illicit, as whatever is going on is shrouded in secrecy and there is a signal jammer preventing communications. By the end of the entry, it becomes clear that something really bad is about to happen:

Helena crossed her arms warily. "Mom, what are you doing out here?"

"I don't have time to talk about this now," her mother snapped. "You don't know what's going on. You didn't see them looking through the windows. You didn't hear what this one said in the ramen shop."

For the first time, her mother looked up. Dangerous intensity burned in her eyes. "They're using the dark to blind us, and we're not going to let it happen. Now help me."

Helena walked slowly to the trash piled in the corner. Towels soaked with blue fluid. Rubbery tubes, strange scraps of metal. A laminated card that read "TEMPORARY."

Her voice was small. "Mama, what did you do?"

The laminated card that reads "TEMPORARY" is the same card that our Eliksni friend wears in "III - Gifts from the Shore," and Helena's mother talks about a ramen shop, presumably referring to him cursing out the shop owner by accident. So, it's clear that Helena's mother and the other people at the ramen shop were outraged by the Eliksni's unwitting swearing, and tried to lynch him for it. It appears that they attacked the Eliksni, and he escaped, so Helena called her daughter to help her finish the job.

And so, what began as a cute story about language barriers turned into a horror story about racism and mob violence. Overall, the past 2 seasons have featured the best storytelling in Destiny's history, and Bungie continues to deliver with enlightening and engrossing side stories like this. Bravo to the narrative and writing teams!

Bungie, Hunters get cool class item altering features (hoodless, cape less, and BOTH now). Can we do something for Titans and Warlocks?

    Posted: 16 May 2021 07:10 PM PDT

    Title.

Basically, some of the coolest Hunter aesthetics break the mold, so why do Titans and Warlocks NOT have anything that is so mold-breaking?

Titan Suggestions: - Titan belt with no towel - a full wrap around Titan kilt - Titan belt buckles AF (yeehaw) - Raid belt (like the raid race champs) - Something that extends higher than the waistline (idk what this would be, other than unique and new)

Warlock Suggestions: - Warlock helmet that has a hood built in (like cryostene, but less babushka) - a really heavy armory Warlock bond (like Hellboy's fist, but the whole arm) - A fucking wizard hat helmet (since Season 13 basically threw out any rules about height limits on head ornaments) - Full blown arm cape (since fencing seems to be a Warlock hobby based on this year's GG robes. ALSO, imagine being a damn matador with all the Titan bulls running around...)

Hunter Suggestions: - give us that sick noob scarf from D1 you cowards

Any other ideas for ways to break the mold for the Titan and Warlock looks?

*Edit: I'd literally spend 10,000 silver on a toweless Titan mark. Bungie, LET ME BUY A DAMN BELT AND I WILL.

WHY THE FUCK DOES RAINBOW ROAD IN PROPHECY HAVE A 45 SECOND SPAWN TIMER?

    Posted: 16 May 2021 01:09 PM PDT

    Title...

Edit: This question was first asked by slayer on Twitter. I saw that tweet right after completing my first prophecy run for this season where I died 2 times in that rainbow road. And I my clan mates were like, ah fuck it, let's collect the chest and pull him. An I was yelling"why the fuck there is a 45 second timer on this!"

So, after slayer's tweet, it was so relatable to me and I just posted the same question here. No pun intended.

Give us a sorting option in the shaders to "mark as favorite" so we can quickly find the shaders we like most

    Posted: 16 May 2021 06:55 PM PDT

Up until we all learn where the shaders are placed, it's taking quite a bit of time to put a shader on a gun nowadays, even if you know what shader you're looking for, finding it is tedious.

Give us a favorite option, just like how finishers work. We click on the ones we like, and they're moved to the front pages, when we change the sorting method to "favorites".

Do not use Sundering Blast against Overload Champions

    Posted: 16 May 2021 09:51 AM PDT

One of the new class item mods in the season artifact, Sundering Blast, triggers an explosion when you stun a champion. Unfortunately, this explosion will usually immediately break Overload champions out of their stun. If you're getting a "[you] stunned [Overload champion]" message but the champion doesn't actually stop (and you're not using Stasis), make sure you're not running Sundering Blast.

I dunno where you'd even go to report bugs, I just didn't want anyone else to have to wonder why Overload champs were no-selling all of their attacks.
