The most insulting part about Crucible matchmaking is when it claims it is breaking apart teams to find a better match only to match you against the exact same players who mercied you

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 01:08 AM PDT

This has to be the most misleading notice text from Bungie. Just fess up and be honest -- your matchmaking system doesn't actually exist

Theory: I think the cat in Zavala’s office is Savathûn.

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 07:41 AM PDT

So, for those of you who don't know, there's a cat in Zavala's office. Right-hand side of the room when entering, on the top shelf. It's just standing there or licking itself, sometimes purring… just a cat doing cat things. But there's something wrong with that cat. It's on a shelf, but it's not alone there. There are also vases, or whatever these things are, on this shelf. In such situations, a normally constituted cat would do only one thing: throw the vases to the ground. Seriously, cats love to do this. These evil creatures. But in Zavala's office, everything is still on the shelves. Which allows only one explanation: this cat-shaped creature is not a real cat.

    So, what is it?

I personally think it's Savathûn in disguise.

We already know Savathûn has infiltrated the City, be it physically or not. We have heard her song in there more than once, sung by Shaxx, Crow, some of the Tower's frames, or, more recently, a huge part of the population itself. And what better way to infiltrate a city than by disguising as a cat? Almost everyone loves cats. Cats can go wherever they want without attracting attention. And considering these things are almost liquid, they can get pretty much everywhere: vents, pipes, small holes in walls… Everywhere.

And there's one more element. I'm sure most of you are familiar with the lore of Traveler's Chosen. It's commonly admitted that it's about something looking at Shaxx, or Zavala, or even both from the point of view of Shaxx's Ahamkara skull. Some think this "something" is the Ahamkara itself, while others think it's Savathûn. But if we consider that Eris' first reaction, upon learning that Shaxx sang Savathûn's song, was to ask for the removal of said skull, it becomes pretty clear that this "something" is indeed Savathûn. Now let's go back to Traveler's Chosen's lore: what we don't know is if this "something" is the skull itself, or is just a creature sitting inside the skull. If said "something" is really Savathûn, it's then more likely to be a creature rather than the skull itself. And what creature could easily climb up to this skull and fit inside?

    A cat.

Thunderlord's stats are mostly abysmal, but it would still be a hell of fun if its catalysy simply gave it a larger magazine so we could enjoy it at full spin for more time.

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 06:07 AM PDT

18 more in the mag and another 36 in reserves would make it a lot more viable. And intrinsic Overload (on every 3rd shot so it procs before enemies teleport).

Bring back the blue flaming head for completing Nightfalls in Destiny

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 12:22 AM PDT

As the title says, please bring back the blue flaming head that's awarded for completing Nightfall strikes like in Destiny 1. However, perhaps this time around it could be awarded for completing a Master or Grandmaster Nightfall. It's doesn't have to award a buff to weekly XP unless people still want that.

Iron banner could really use daily minor bounties

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 11:22 AM PDT

Past the 4 major bounties it feels like IB tapers off. There's no extra incentives for coming back each day of the event. Which is kind of sad considering it is an event. So the addition of some minor daily bounties that reward extra tokens would be nice.

    Xûr for iOS

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 03:35 AM PDT

Hi, I'm Tom Chapman. You might remember me from such past Destiny specials as What's Xûr Got?, Braytech.org, and Triumph.report.

Today, I'm bringing you news of something new but the same. Xûr for iOS - my first foray into the world of native mobile app development (although, I cheated).

My intentions were to create some beautiful iOS widgets to sit on my home screen (and I did that), but I needed an app to attach them to. I have a long history with Xûr (the only developer to collate every sale and location since the dawn of Destiny 2 - yes, I'll blow this horn). Forgot how I was going to finish that sentence. Anyway, for the curious, I developed the widgets first. I had no experience with Swift or XCode. I tried to apply the experience I'd just gained to creating a full app but I hated it so I transitioned to React Native and achieved the same feature set and more in 1/10 the time.

Back to why I'm here: I created some beautiful widgets for your iOS home screens.

    • Xûr
    • Daily Mods
    • Lost Sectors

    Screenshot.

The app itself is a lightweight bonus that lists a full history of Xûr's movements and his randomly rolled offerings.

    Forever under the Traveler,
    Tom

Can we get a boost to turn speed on consoles please? It’s painfully slow, I shouldn’t have to sprint to turn fast

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 05:31 AM PDT

Traction is not the answer and it never was.
PC players don't need traction to turn fast if using a mouse.

Traction requires you to be sprinting to even benefit from the perk and even then the turn speed is not that impressive.

Other console FPS don't penalize their player base with a reduced traction speed. In fact they give you sliders so you can customize the speed. So what's going on with Destiny that Bungie felt this needed to be done? Will it break the game? I think it's a slam dunk of good will for the Player base.

Sincerely a person who plays at Look Speed 10 and finds that slow as well.

I made my partner edible crayons!

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 11:43 AM PDT

So my partner and I started playing Destiny 2 around 2/3 months ago. We noticed that people kept saying to my partner that he needs his crayon snacks (he plays as a titan) and I instantly had the thought that maybe I should make him some edible crayons out of fondant. I didn't see online that anyone else had done these!

It's taken me almost a month to get to the point I am currently at. I just need to get some card to make the actual box and decorate it and then it'll be ready to go! The photo shows each of the crayons, however the shaders that were suggested came from other players from both my clan and a streamer that got us into the game in the first place.

    The shaders are:

    - Nebula Rose- Sunrise Warrior- Gambit Emerald- Celestial Dome- Precursor Vex Chrome- Neopop Wave- Byzantium Lotus- Monochromatic- Indigo Matrix

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 07:43 PM PDT

You've got everything up to shadowkeep on there, we're well into the expansion. I know you guys uploaded the soundtrack to YouTube but I actually want to be able to lock my phone and do other things while I jam out to frigid tomb.

Also if you could add taniks reborn when you upload it, that'd be great.

We should be able to buy previous seasons separately

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 10:25 AM PDT

I am trying to buy Season of the Chosen, but it's telling me to upgrade to deluxe edition. Why should I have to pay full price for two seasons I already own? I JUST want Season of the Chosen, I DON'T want Beyond Light.

Come on, Bungie just give me a node in the Seasons tab where I can buy whatever Season I want.

Trials matchmaking is literally the equivalent to casino slot machines except the chips are your time and patience.

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 09:32 PM PDT

You start out pretty excited to play and then you immediately realize that the odds of going flawless or getting high in a card are super super stacked against you. First game is 1.7+ KDs with 200 flawlesses each. You lose. The next is a team of 0.5 KDs and it's an easy game. The win gives you a slimmer of hope of actually having fun so you go, "See that was a fun match. Let's go again. Surely the next one won't be as bad." Then you rinse and repeat and next thing you know, hours have passed and the only progress you made was 2 wins, 40 tokens, and horrible rolled weapons.

Focusing on branching, multi layered stories has made Destiny feel truly alive.

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 06:56 AM PDT

Seeing the reaction to the Eliksni amongst different groups really showcases this in particular. We have one side that hates having them in the city and another that supports them. Seeing the two at odds seriously adds to the immersion of the story.

Archon's thunder could be amazing but 360rpm machine guns have terrible DPS compared to the 450rpm archetype.

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 05:25 AM PDT

    See here:

In PvP, on 6 resilence or less:

360rpm: 47 crit 34 body. 0.64 sec Optimal ttk, 2 crits 3 body. (The damage is listed as 48 per crit in u/mercules904 's spreadsheet but it's incorrect. It is 47.)

450 rpm: 41 crit 30 body. 0.53 sec optimal ttk 5 crits. But you can get an 0.67 sec ttk with only 1 crit and 5 body shots.

The 450rpm's suboptimal ttk requires less crits than the 360rpm's optimal ttk, this should not be the case, it's completely illogical.

360rpm machine guns should be able to kill in 4 crits, (0.5 sec) and the previous 0.64 sec 5 shot kill should be 1 crit 4 body instead of 2 crit 3 body.

If they got a 6% base damage buff the body shot damage would go up to 36 and the crit damage up to 50 and the above mentioned ttk values would be true. It doesn't make sense why they are worse than 450rpm's in every single way, they should at least match DPS.

Right now there is absolutely zero reason to use a 360rpm machine gun over a 450rpm one simply because of terrible DPS. This rings true for PvE as well, you will have much more successful damage output with a 450rpm machine gun over a 360rpm one.

Not to mention they have horrible base stability as well, they need to do more damage to compensate for their slow fire rate and terrible stability.

Icefall Mantle Should Go Back into First Person Faster

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 01:43 AM PDT

After running around with Icefall Mantle in the crucible for a while I found it to be rather formidable in most situations, especially against shotgunners as they can't do anything against an overshield and melee combo. Works well with Tommy's Matchbook too.

Though as I was running around and activating the shield, I noticed the most annoying thing about this exotic: the delay between third person and first person after activating the shield.

The reason I bring this up is because you can shoot well before you go back into first person, and this is kind of problematic as your whole reticle and front view of the opponent is blocked by your guardian's cheeks. You can't actually see what's going on until well after activation, even though you are able to move and shoot freely.

All I ask is that you decrease the delay between third person and first person after activating the overshield.

It's like using icarus dash and not being able to go into first person for two full seconds after dashing, having your warlock in the center of your screen, blocking your view of everything.

Is Bungie going to give us Khvostov as an exotic weapon again later down the line?

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 01:13 AM PDT

Just out of curiosity that's all. They gave us Traveler's Chosen as an Exotic. I'd love to see the exotic version of Khvostov make a return since I never got to experience it in D1, considering I never played D1 in the first place :P

Class items should always dismantle into an enhancement core

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 08:22 AM PDT

Is there a more worthless drop in the game than a legendary class item? Blues are gonna be blues regardless, but if you get a legendary class item you lost a chance at a potentially good weapon/armor roll.

I'm grinding prophecy for solo Flawless and the sheer volume of class items I've gotten from chests that are supposed to be for exclusive weapons or high stat armor rolls is demoralizing. "Hey, you failed, but at least you get to dismantle 3 cloaks before you try again!"

It wouldn't be hard to add either, they would just need to make them always drop with a level 6/7 masterwork level.

Edit: While we're on core economy, exotics should also have a chance to drop cores or prisms when you dismantle them. Xur would basically be a shard casino.

So I heard you want to have your Sentinel Shield Super, like, all the time

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 08:11 AM PDT

With the right Exotic and mods, you can get your Sentinel Shield quick and also make each one last a long time too.

    Subclass:

    • Sentinel, Code of the Aggressor (bottom tree)

    Exotic Gear:

    • Doom Fang Pauldron

    Mods:

    • Helmet: Ashes to Assets x2 (edit: if you get it from the seasonal artifact it only costs 1 to equip)
    • Arms: Impulse Recycler x2 (also from the seasonal artifact)
    • (Arc Armor): Heavy Handed
    • (Misc.): Have ways to become Charged with Light, whichever works best with your current weapons

Ashes to Assets gives you extra Super energy from grenade kills, and Impulse Recycler refunds some grenade energy from grenade kills, and both stack with multiple copies. Not to mention, Code of the Aggressor already gets grenade energy back from grenade kills, so the cycle can continue easily. (It's ok to only have 1 Impulse Recycler mod if you need an anti-champion mod or just can't stand not having Fastball, or whatever.)

But then there's also Doom Fang Pauldron, which makes any Void melee kill give you a nice chunk of Super energy. If you make sure you become Charged with Light first though, you'll get half your melee energy back after that kill so you can do twice as many Shield Bashes.

By getting kills with all these grenades and shield bashes, you'll get your Sentinel Shield in no time.

But wait, there's more! Getting hits with your thrown shield with Doom Fang equipped refunds Super energy per hit, and you have two shields to throw, plus a kill with melee-button shield strikes also refund your shield throw. You can have ridiculously long Supers by hitting tons of things with your thrown shields, killing a thing with a melee, and then throwing a shield again, repeat.

You can slaughter entire waves of adds with a single Super and then get it back quickly to do it all again. It's a ton of fun.

P.S. You can also use Code of the Commander instead, you lose having two shield throws and have to make sure you can get a melee final blow with a Void punch instead of a shoulder charge-esque attack, but gain the detonators and Banner Shield.

Not saying that Taken King was the best time for Iron Banner armor, but damn has it been hard to top in destiny 2. Hell all of d1 had pretty sweet iron banner armor (some of course much sexier than others) and while IB gear isn't bad in d2... yeah nothing's toping the ROI/TTK era of IB gear.

Deer trivia: Red deer follow the same social patterns that humans do! The young whippersnappers have large social networks and spatial behavior geared towards roaming, while old geezers have much smaller networks and tend to stay put in small geographical areas.

I printed this months ago but never finished until today. It's not my best work but I'm happy with how it looks. The weathering is hard to see on my phone camera
