    Nightfall - The Ordeal: The Insight Terminus

    Modifiers:

    • Nightfall: Adept
      • Pestilence: When defeated, Psions spawn Void grenades at their feet.
    • Nightfall: Hero

      • Champions: Unstoppable: This mode contains Unstoppable Champions, which cannot be stopped without an Unstoppable mod.

    Expunge: Delphi feels like it is the perfect candidate for a strike.

    It has decent length, champion locations, a couple different mechanics and an engaging boss fight (especially at higher difficulties, I'd assume).

    Bungie could cut out the "boring part" at the start to shorten it a little, and the strike path itself could be fine tuned with the activation/deactivation of some of the additional splicer-shortcuts. Naturally, it would be a strike with a little more platforming than usual, but I'd be okay with that.

    The Expunge: Delphi fight is pretty awesome

    Purely from a gameplay standpoint, this fight slaps. I had a feeling they'd somehow incorporate all the Expunge mechanics into this encounter but the map layout weaved it together quite nicely. The final phase was also a really nice touch.

    Overall, pretty fantastic encounter. Probably my favorite boss encounter since Inotam (Season of Dawn).

    Trials is not a fun activity

    The only people enjoying Trials are the top 1% or streamers and the rest of us only attempt it for the rewards only to be promptly stomped out with no rewards and wasted time being frustrated because it isn't a fun game mode.

    Sure you earn the 3 win reward each week with completion of a bounty that most people just jump off the map for, but you're then limited to that reward alone and you've spent your time either jumping off the map or running full clip at the other team to get it over with. It is not a fun experience you feel your time has been well spent.

    We NEED a revamped Trials system either chance at high stat armor even on losses, Trials card you can earn wins with no loss penalty to EVENTUALLY maybe work your way to that 5 and 7 win reward. The player base is continually dropping in Trials so its even less enjoyable for the majority of players. This needs to be addressed.

    Please... no more godly lore entities dispatched like they’re nothing

    Man why. Xol, the High Celebrant of Xivu Arath, and now Quria just to name a few. It is so upsetting to see someone who's been built up in the lore for YEARS be taken out in ten minutes in a weekly mission.

    We obviously don't know if there are future plans for these characters, specifically Quria, but damn it stings. We killed a worm god in a story mission. A worm. god. Now we kill Savathuns taken Vex Mind like it was nothing. I really don't know how I can articulate myself other than "this fucking sucks" because I'm so disappointed.

    Dont build up these enemies to be larger than life or some immense threat if we kill it in an expunge mission. Seriously.

    Playing enough Gambit to reset Imfamy is bad enough. But only getting 30 points for a loss on a 15,000 point grind is ludacris.

    It just feels BAD!!!

    I'm on 7857 Gambit rank currently.

    Currently for a loss I get 30 points. Luckily, at the moment it's x3 so it's 90. But even THAT feels like no where near enough. If you get a bad run of games, you make almost NO progress.

    100 base for a loss would be more like it.

    TLDR: Basically the time investment for an Infamy rank reset feels faaaar to long and makes me feel bad about playing Gambit. Specifically the the points for losses being FAR to small.

    EDIT: Just had a really bad streak of games where I lost 4 times in a row so far. If it wasn't triple XP for infamy I would have only got 120 points towards 15,000.

    In a recent community manager response they said some minor changes can be made in season 15. But major changes will be seasons away. If that's true DO NOT make it a requirement for weekly challenges to play Gambit. It's not fair to the players in ANY way.

    EDIT 2: u/pekeponzer has informed me that IS in fact going to be addressed, copy pasting their comment from below:

    IIRC they said in a twab they're reworking gambit infamy to be more close to Valor. Gonna see if I can't find it.

    "These changes are a precursor to some larger improvements planned for Season 15 (e.g., introducing Vanguard reputation, rebalancing Infamy to bring a reset in-line with Valor, and more). We'll have more information on those changes in a few months! "

    Either booooo or it’s not over

    Quria was an amzinngggggg looking boss and had some good mechanics, she needs to be more, she cannot disappear over time into the vault, she deserves to be a raid or strike boss that we can fight abs love over time. Beyond that I noticed one big thing today, there is still a missing boss… from the original trailer for this season there was an atheon looking boss in the vex realm that we still haven't faced. It gives me a lot of hope that this was a trick abs we will be seeing qu'aria in the future

    Edit: if you are looking for the unseen boss it's at 1:09 It looks to be an expunged mission, plus, we have already seen screenshots of override in the elixni quarter, so we know there is more at some point.

    Also I don't care if it's at least a strike I just want it to be something(quria) Byond all of this wouldn't something hugeeee happen to the dreaming city if the dreaming mind finally died

    Note: for all of you talking about Xol and Nokris, remember, although Xol was a worm god and they are supposed to be strong, Xol was one of the weakest. For example, the body of one made the dreadnought.

    Savathun might be tricking us in regards to Quria

    So today the Quria final battle released and people have opinions about it.

    I personally liked it, because if you dont immediately nuke her with Anarchy, the boss can be pretty intense at times, especially when she starts spamming the death walls on the third phase.

    But theres some details that have me iffy in regards to the question of Quria actually being truly dead or not.

    Theres two details that catch my eye.

    The first one is the way Quria died. Taken are usually absorbed into a void once they're dealt enough damage, or dissolve into Darkness and blink out.

    Quria left behind a head though. And her head has some interesting details. Like how it looks like its coming apart digitally.

    Like a simulation, perhaps.

    This would fit with Quria's abilities, since she simulated an Oryx that is convincing enough to trick the Taken into following it. So simulating herself wouldn't be too out of left field.

    The second detail, which I think holds more weight, is hidden in the season of the splicer reveal trailer.

    At around the 1:07 mark, you can see a Vex boss with an Atheon chassis. That boss has not appeared at any point of the storyline yet.

    That means that there is still a Subjugated/Oppressive mind running around.

    Maybe as a boss to a potential future Override/Expunge mission?

    That shouldnt be possible if Quria is truly dead, would it? All the Vex would have been released from Savathun's grip.

    Unless we got tricked into killing a simulation.

    Wouldnt surprise me, knowing Savathun.

    Eyes of Tomorrow: remove the damage penalty against Bosses and Champions, but give it a fixed reload speed instead, like what you did to Izanagi's Burden's Honed Edge

    Back in Shadowkeep, Izanagi's Burden was the unquestionable king of DPS, which led to an inevitable nerf.

    Before you say, yes, it got a damage nerf (20%), but that was targeting all sniper rifles, not specifically for Izanagi's Burden.

    I really liked Bungie's solution to IB, instead of gutting its burst damage too much, they made Honed Edge's reload speed static, this straight up fixed its godly sustained dps, while keeping its burst dps high.

    But when it comes to multi-shot rocket launchers, Bungie chooses to murder their power fantasy, and imposed a massive penalty on their damage against powerful foes.

    Why not revisit your solution to Izanagi's Burden, and give Eyes of Tomorrow a fixed reload speed? This way, we get to keep the power fantasy of its massive burst damage, at the same time, this prevents it from having insane sustained dps.

    Lightweight Pulse Rifles need a buff

    Do you just kinda...forget that Bad Juju exists? I mean, it's a Pulse Rifle (which are being used in the Crucible right now), it gives extra Super energy from kills, it has Rampage built in, it reloads on kill like it has a built in Transversive Steps/Markman's Dodge...and yet it's bottom of the meta because its archetype is just that bad.

    Some PvP numbers:

    • Rate of fire = 450 rpm
    • Damage = 25 crit, 16 body
    • Optimal TtK = 0.87
    • Shot placement = 8 crits (100% of your shots)

    In other words, to hit that maximal 0.87 TtK, you need to hit every shot on the head. Now for some comparisons...here's the Rapid Fire frame's numbers, like Gridskipper and Time Worn Spire.

    • Rate of fire = 540 rpm
    • Damage = 24 crit, 14 body (notice how, uh, close the two archetypes are)
    • Optimal TtK = 0.80
    • Shot Placment = 7 crit, 2 body

    In other words, guns like Gridskipper kill faster while requiring less precision accuracy (only 78% of the shots need to hit the head).

    No wonder guns like Chattering Bone (which is about to un-Sunset, right?) and Bad Juju feel so impotent, they have to work harder just to kill slower.

    The other Pulse Rifle archetypes also don't require literal 100% head shot placement to reach their optimal TtK either. Only Lightweight has to deal with trash-tier killing potential if even one shot misses the noggin.

    They really need a tweak, at the very least in the Crucible, so that they can be like the others and get their optimal TtK with 71-83% or so of their shots on the head. Like the others already enjoy.

    Of all the weapon archetypes, I think Lightweight Pulse Rifles are the only ones I literally have never seen for the past 2 years. With the changes and stuff that have happened, I see full auto sidearms some, The Messenger represents High Impact Pulse Rifles, I see all the Hand Cannons, I see content creators using False Promises for High Impact Auto Rifles, there's Chroma Rush for the faster ones, etc.

    But Lightweight Pulse Rifles practically don't exist. They're too unforgiving for mediocre results. They're high risk...low reward.

    Armsday from D1 should come back. The weapon models are present in the game and with the current perk pools it could have the potential to be an amazing weekly event.

    A couple of ideas that would make it interesting.

    • Each week provides guns from a different manufacturer(week 1 Hakke, week 2 Suros etc). At the moment Hakke, Surros, Omolon and to some extent Veist are the most substantial in terms of numbers.

    -Instead of choosing between 3 You have a choice of 4. The 4th being a weapon that is master worked.

    • Each season could add missing weapon archetypes to each manufacturer.

    • Could be a great opportunity to expand upon Daito weapons and perhaps bringing back classic black armoury weapons.

      • New weapon manufacturer specific shaders could be introduced like the ones from D2 vanilla.

    Izanagi's Burden should have Anti-barrier on full charged shot

    Title says it all, Izanagi would be in a better spot given it had anti-barrier on it. I don't think it would make the gun meta but it would certainly help make it shine a little and see more general play in PvE. I feel this would be a fair buff too as the only other anti-barrier we have is Eriana's Vow as a secondary special and while its certainly useful there isn't much real use for that either outside of nightfall activity.

    I hope the right people see this and consider this to be a buff on everyone all time favorite PvE powerhouse

    Anyone else disappointed by how phoned in so many of them are? Vex, Traveller's Chosen and Eriana's are literally just a chrome finish. That's it.

    Contrast that with the excellent Witherhoard ornament.

    I just don't get it. It's so low-effort.

    It was just a culmination of all we've been through. All we've discovered. And now the journey is coming to an end. Hearing that diologue after I killed Quira, hearing how happy Saint was, it made me feel happy to.

    Beating Grandmaster Glassway with a Mountaintop (+ killing the final boss with it for giggles)

    Title says it all but here is some small backstory.

    Mountaintop as most of you know is sunset. Which means it is perma locked at 1100 light no matter what. So how are you able to bring it into a Grandmaster Nightfall?

    You must have an overall powered guardian of 1363 Light. This will put you at 1335 on the dot and let you enter a Grandmaster

    So what better way to break in the ol' Mountaintop then by beating arguably the hardest GM in the game and killing the boss with it?
