    Focused Feedback: Season Pass

    Posted: 28 Jun 2021 09:33 AM PDT

    Hello Guardians,

Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.

We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.

This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion

Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding 'Season Pass' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

With The Deep Stone Crypt raid no longer a pinnacle raid, it should only cost 10 spoils per weapon in thechest at the end

    Posted: 28 Jun 2021 07:59 AM PDT

Title. You can't even buy a single weapon after running the raid once. You have to run a 40m activity TWICE to even get one weapon with probably a bad roll. Its not respecting the players time at all, and its just painful spending 1h+ getting a succession without a single perk you want on it.

Having my new light friend ask me who the vex and the cabal are because of a Zavala bounty really shows how incomplete the intro campaign is and the gaps left to fill from the DCV.

    Posted: 28 Jun 2021 02:29 PM PDT

Title. That moment was utterly embarrassing, it really shows how the game is really incoherent when important plot points are missing in game. It's like throwing a new viewer into a show without the first 3 seasons and you can only experience it through a YouTube video explaining it. How would you even get that new viewer to pay for the newer seasons? I can't believe this went unnoticed.

Bungie, with the Umbral Engram system you have in place, you literally have a world of endless possibilities, I.E. a great way to reissue gear we lost.

    Posted: 28 Jun 2021 09:14 AM PDT

You have the system in place, allow us to pick up items with the Umbral Engrams that were sunset. Like you want a weapon from a specific raid that's gone? Have a spoils cost included. Missed the Black Armory weapons? Have a material cost/ planetary cost, since those planets are still around. Want weapons from the Sundial/Vex Offensive? Have Vex drop Raidiolarian fluid and have that as a cost. Want old Nightfall Loot? Have tokens that drop only on Nightfalls. Missed out on Menagerie gear? Have Cabal drop so mats. We have a system in place, and can make us go after items that we loved in the past. Hell you can even update them in the perk pool so we have even more stuff to chase after. The Umbral System is great, and really needs to be expanded upon.

Mithrax gets to equip two exotic weapons at a time why can't we?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2021 07:39 PM PDT

So nobody's going to talk about the opening cutscene for Season of the Splicer?

Mithrax was holding Queenbreaker's Bow and then switched to Lord of Wolves...

I didn't see [. . .] over his head, so I KNOW he didn't go in his inventory. What gives Bungie?

Guardians are nigh-immortal, paracausal god-slayers and yet we only get one yellow background weapon at a time. What gives?? Why are Eliksni special? Is it because they have more arms? I bet it's the arms.

    I'm offended.

You're not gonna convince me that a mysterious entity of light shaped like a raggedy golf ball shows up, imbues us with god-like abilities that we wield time and time again against unspeakable fugliness, then says "no no no, only ONE exotic at a time. Let's not be crazy".

Bungie, equipping two exotics is now in the lore. Please patch in next sandbox update.

    Sincerely,

    -A very disgruntled Hunter.

Bungie just released an audio log of Crow having an experience with Eliksni on the Tangled Shore, and it's quite lovely.

    I hope - at some point - a cosmetic item from a Raid includes a 6-player emote.

    Posted: 28 Jun 2021 12:40 PM PDT

I'm sure it's a technical burden, but I feel like the payoff would be worthwhile, especially if it's only tied to the yearly expansion raid. A couple examples I thought of were the following"

    • Back-to-back 360 close up from the first Avengers movie

    • Everyones hands meeting in the middle, leading to the typical arm raise

    • Burly Brawl fight from the Matrix Reloaded (have one guardian playfighting the other 5)

Can We Get a Champion Counter for Nightfalls?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2021 01:22 PM PDT

Maybe it'll stop randoms from nuking the boss while there's still champions up since rewards are based on champion defeats.

A simple "x/15 Champions" displayed on the screen would be great.

Add True Prophecy to the FWC umbral focus

    Posted: 28 Jun 2021 08:33 AM PDT

It would be a nice change to the current 10,000 gunsmith mats needed to get one. I don't care if it takes all my umbral and decrypted data to get i just think there should be another place besides the gunsmith to get this weapon. Maybe add one for seraph as well but that may be a bit too much to ask. True Prophecy is a FWC gun so there is no reason it shouldn't be in there.

    Ophidia Spathe: the APE killer.

    Posted: 28 Jun 2021 03:23 PM PDT

Before you read any further OS (Ophidia Spathe) ornament is currently for sale for bright dust this week. The new design makes it a bit more attractive in my opinion. Since I might change you into a OS main after reading this so go check it out.

    Introduction

I always found it interesting when youtubers are reviewing a weapon in PVP, they used the gun first and then add some mods and armor. But when it comes to an exotic armor they also do the same. I feel sometimes this lead to not really showing off the full potential of the exotic gear. So I used OS in Comp. NO GUN. ABILITIES ONLY. And this is what I came up with.

Everything I will explain here is based on the Explosive Knives and Tripmine grenade.

    • Scissors Fingers

This perk grants 2 knives per charge. That's it. Not really appealing, right? I am going to change your mind. Give me sec. Keep in mind 2 knives = 1 kill AND 1 knife 1 Tripmine = 1kill (at least).

    1. This is the only exotic that gives 2 melee 1 charge. Meaning for one charge that you can get the two knives back.
    2. 3 knives per charge. When your melee is charging wait until it's almost full and use your knife and get back the other 2. So 1 on the ground 2 in your hand.
    3. 4 knives 1 dodge. Use your 2 knives, Gambler's Dodge near an enemy to get 2 knives back. So 2 on the ground 2 in your hand.
    4. 5 knives 1 dodge. You can guess how this one work.

With 10 mobility you can have multiple 110 damage on the ground just waiting to annihilate any unfortunate souls that dare chasing you.

    • WITH GUNS

First of all! I would like to say I don't think I am good player at all. I just like to have fun in PVP. But with only using the knives I was able to challenge and win all kind of sweats, unbroken, flawless and APE.

That being said, OS is deadly in for APE in PVP.

Defensively, you want to use doorway and corners. When you are running from a disadvantageous situation while being chased you can leave behind a gift for your enemy. It is best to separate them, as one knife doesn't do enough damage to make your enemy stop chasing you. He will die if he keeps on going. There nothing more stubborn than a guardian that think he got the upper hand.

Do not hold the 2 charges. Use at least one, preferably where you know the enemy might push you. I died so many times just to have the enemy walking on one of them and also die. Most of us play with the assumption that is just a knife it can kill me. Use that to trap your enemy. If they are smart enough to stop to shoot a knife. Use that window to make a push.

This is the real power of the knives and Tripmine grenade. It breaks the flow of the common player's attack. Because we don't change habit so easily they will keep charging the same way and get punish for it.

This works even better if they are the purest form of APE.

You can also use it aggressively.

Hunters are most vulnerable while they are mid air. Instead, of staying mid air missing your shots threw your knives at them. If they are not dead then you can finish them off with a melee, shorty, grenade whatever you want.

You can engage, dodge out of the situation, get the 2 knives back and set your traps for anyone that wants to push you.

ALL OF THIS WORKS WITH TRIPMINE.

    • BUGS, ISSUES , COUNTER.
    1. You will die if you are too close to the knives.
    2. Antaeus Ward swallows your knives as if they were nothing.
    3. If you dodge with half or more melee energy you only get 1 knife back. I hope they can fix this issue in the future.
    4. The knives sometimes detonate but no damage is inflicted.

    BUFF

This exotic is average considering all the good stuff we currently have in the game. Here is some good ideas to make it more relevant.

    • Increase throwing knife speed and distance.
    • Kill with a knife increase knife damage for x amount of time. Kill reset the timer.

    Q&A

    • Why Tripmine grenage?

Tripmines are explosive knives on steroids. They play the same role which is to trap or wait for an enemy to push. The explosion of one trigger the other one. This is the best synergy in my opinion.

    • Is it for high skill player?

Not really. But you need to have a good map knowledge and know how APE usually push.

    • Does it work with bottom tree and middle tree?

NO. Middle tree is knife base subclass but the knives are just bad and the super is average. It's fun to use in PVE though.

Bottom tree requires to go for the head. Athrys's Embrace is a better pick. You get your knife back by landing that precision hit anyway.

    • What is an APE?

APE or W key warrior or "I am allergic to primary" or Titan is a player that got an aggressive playstyle.

    • What if there is no APE in the match?

If there is no APE in game you are probable one. There is always one.

After roughly 50 games, hours of planning and editing, THIS is a short montage with some memes I created to back up everything said here. Hope you enjoy it.

    • What do you wish to accomplish ?
    1. I realized, especially, in PVP most people know how to win but not really how to have fun. This game feels like a chore sometimes so a new perspective I think might gives some a fresh experience.
    2. I want to start making funny video and guides about old exotic gears to incite people to ask for a buff, a rework or to have fun with them.

I am open to any suggestions.

    I hope this was helpful.

    Thank you for reading.

    Eyes Up Guardian.

    WHAT THE HELL IS VOID!!!!???

    Posted: 28 Jun 2021 07:48 AM PDT

    What the hell is void?

Despite loving destiny's lore and worldbuilding and having whached all byf's videos (and also other channels) I can't call miself a Lore specialist like some of you guys, but I think I know more about destiny lore than a casual PLAYER. Having that in mind, I aways considered void to be gravity related (or the absense of it as the name implies), but nowadays I think even bungie don't know what void is! I think I can let ward of daw and warlock devour pass because ward of down could be a gravity..... Wall...? And warlocks are weird so I think they would find a way to feed literal gravity (i main warlock, no hardfeelings) but what does supression have anything to do with gravity? Or controled demolition from midle titan? Or all of the milion ways hunterS can poison someone with the power of..... Gravity?

I know that if it wasn't for that creative liberty it would be dificult to make original subclasses that look diferent, I see this point, but... WHAT THE HELL IS VOID AFTER ALL????????

    Posted: 28 Jun 2021 12:25 PM PDT

I remember seeing some people on here talking about how the helm could possibly be a spaceship the vanguard is having built. If so, I would hope we go through the effort of removing failsafe from the exodus black, and installing her as the helm's AI, rather than her just disappearing whenever they decide to sunset nessus

Bungie Plz Addition: Please Make All Seasonal Challenges Retroactive

    Hello Guardians,

This topic has been added to Bungie Plz.
Going forward, all posts suggesting this change will be removed and redirected to this Megathread.

    Modmail Discussion:

u/Coltons13: "Why it should be added: It's been a hot topic for the past two seasons, easily meeting the 30-day threshold as well as the frequently well-received threshold. Bungie has stated they've heard the feedback and passed it along, so we're unlikely to get any further responses until they're ready to announce changes.

Can be generally expanded to "Make All Seasonal Challenges Retroactive" since they really fit into complaining about the same thing"

    The Return of curated rolls

    Posted: 28 Jun 2021 10:17 PM PDT

I hope Bungie decides to do curated rolls like they did during Forsaken. I liked the idea of there being a roll that Bungie really liked that might not be top tier but was weird or even just different. It was nice addition to the loot pool hope Bungie does it again

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the absolute masterpiece that is Bungie’s music?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2021 10:00 PM PDT

The Beyond Light soundtracks have blown me away. Any time I feel too restless or depressed while starting up D2, the violins and choir in the main theme stabilize me.

DSL, Frigid Tomb, Security Breach, they are all just so… nice. So nice to the point where I made a playlist on YouTube with the most calming soundtracks from all expansions of the game.

    Thanks, Bungie.

Bungie, at least acknowledge that Gambit is in a bad state

    Posted: 28 Jun 2021 09:30 PM PDT

I don't need to write an essay to say that Gambit sucks right now. Gambit Prime was better than current state Gambit imo, and that says something. I just want you to say something to us that can make us feel relieved that changes are coming, because right now it feels like you're ignoring much of the Gambit and PvP side of the community outside of balance.

Meeting Two amazing people through Guided games

    Posted: 28 Jun 2021 07:27 PM PDT

Today me and two clan mates decided to try out the guided games system after a long time for the Vault of Glass, with the hopes of helping some people through. We met two people (a father and son), who hadn't completed the raid. The raid went extremely smoothly and we managed to get them their first completions, but above that it was an honour to meet two people with a relationship like there's, I wish them both the best of luck, this really shows how amazing this community can be.

VoG really showcases how far raids have progressed since then

    Posted: 28 Jun 2021 03:46 PM PDT

So, disclaimer, i've never played D1. I joined when Forsaken came out, and took a big break at some point, so the raids i've played are Leviathan, Last Wish, and then straight to Garden, Deep Stone Crypt and Vault of Glass recently.

I did a blind run of VoG recently, and really enjoyed it. The loot is amazing (that D1 armor looks great) and the encounters are fun.

But I guess I didn't get the "next level" experience that i've come to expect from the most recent raids Bungie made. Bringing back the first raid really shows how far the game has progressed when it comes to raids, mainly in the following areas :

    • storytelling : Last Wish and DSC both fit really well into their expansions, and during the raid, you are always perfectly aware of what you're doing and why. Between the in-game dialogue, the little "cinematics" like Taniks waking up or the Techeuns destroying the heart, the raids have a clear story progression. In Vault (and to a lesser extent in Garden, so i partly blame that on the vex being blank machines) there is not one single bit of dialogue or context in the raid itself telling you what is happening. Judging from the Byf video I watched afterwards, there's a lot of cool stuff here, but I assume this was still the "read the story in the grimoire" era of Destiny.

    • music : the raid music is something I always look forward to, so i was pretty disappointed to hear so little during VoG. Most of the raid is completely silent, and while it picks up a bit during the Atheon fight, it's not as complex or epic as more recent themes.

I still like the raid and will run it every week, but I wish we had a choice between VoG and DSC as the pinnacle activity. Either way, this is a great remaster because it really shows how things have progressed since then.

I want more gun foundry weapons from veist, suros, and especially hakke

    Posted: 28 Jun 2021 09:17 PM PDT

We haven't had lots of these weapon foundry guns. Everything be omolon. Which really sucks. It is getting boring having everything be omolon.
Suros had 600 rpm auto rifles and rapid fire frame sidearms. The 260 scouts from viest were really fun to use. Hakke had aggressive shotguns, 120 hand cannons, precision frame smgs like antiope, and 360 auto rifles like Halfdan which have lots of potential. All being kinetic so you could pair them with all Of the good special weapons.

Bungo please give us more hakke, viest, and suros weapons. We're tired of omolon
