Momentum Control is just Grandmaster Crucible.

    Posted: 06 Jun 2021 02:12 PM PDT

Both Momentum Control and Grandmaster Nightfall share the following traits:

    • Massively increased incoming damage
    • Disabled Radar
    • Radically different equipment meta
    • Radically different Super meta
    • Access limited to a schedule

There's nothing else to it. Moco is simply GM Crucible.

What is with streamers calling to nerf every weapon type other than Hand Cannons that become good in PvP?

    Posted: 06 Jun 2021 02:39 PM PDT

I notice so many streamers complaining about Trace Rifles now its not even funny, or DMT (which I understand is kinda broken in PC but not a problem over in Console) then when the 600rpm Auto Rifles were good there was so much crying until they were nerfed. I even saw one complaining about special GL's in PvP, like C'mon those take skill to use and they're far less common than shotguns.

It seems to me like 120/140 Hand Cannons don't catch the same flak whenever they overpower the meta from these streamer PvP types and yet any other weapon that gets remotely competitive gets whined and complained about until they're nerfed to the ground.

I love hand cannons myself but c'mon I'd love to use something other than Hand cannon + Shotgun/sniper in crucible. I've been loving the trace rifles recently and dmt. And even back then when I loved using the Suros and Symmetry even. Now you can't use any of these weapons because some dude 40m away can 2 tap you.

The Cryosthsia 77K is not a good weapon. I'm really disappointed in it as an exotic.

    Posted: 06 Jun 2021 06:37 PM PDT

This thing should feel really fun to use, but it's hot garbage, even with the catalyst. Now that the season is well on its way I don't think I have seen a single person willingly use the gun.

Really sad that our first "real" stasis weapon is so underwhelming. (I don't count the stasis nade launcher as even being a weapon, it is exclusively used to pop shards and that's it.)

Bungie has done a really poor job with our first introduction to stasis weapons.

Please put all armour rewards back in the season pass, high stat and low stat.

    Posted: 06 Jun 2021 08:49 AM PDT

In seasons past, high stat armour was one of the main appeals to the actual season pass ranks for me. The other benefit being increased drops in playlists and exp gains etc. Getting shards, or cores, or just glimmer is a joke, but that's not the point of this post.

I still use some of the high stat gear from previous seasons because it's just that good, and I always made sure to keep even the different less well distributed pieces in case I needed to change my build.

As well as that, it was really helpful to pop a piece of armour to level up a slot which you had not yet received powerful / pinnacle rewards in.

At first I thought not having it this season wouldn't be so bad since the pinnacle grind was shorter, but aside from the above it introduced a different issue I hadn't even thought of:

I only just finished my armour set on my titan, by getting a Lightkin Mark, as my reward for reputation rank 31 at the Splicer Servitor. I maxed out the different upgrade paths weeks ago (this was a good improvement btw; less pointless time-gating). I'm at rank 146 on the season pass.

I still haven't finished the set for my warlock either.

Fortunately, I really like the other stuff this season. Honestly I've been playing this game a lot because I love Override. But I wouldn't be surprised if some people go the whole season not finishing their armour sets.

I think dungeons should get some more love, rotating pinnacles or different difficulties with escalating rewards would make dungeons even better.

Return seasonal Legendary Weapon ornaments to the Season Pass.

    Posted: 06 Jun 2021 05:26 PM PDT

With a lot of talk around the Season Pass and it being filled with arguably useless rewards (see other reddit posts about seasonal armor being removed). I would personally like to see the return of the two weapon ornaments in the season pass for two of the seasonal weapons.

I'm sure people would agree that an ornament for Chroma Rush for example - given how popular the gun has been this season - would have been a great addition to the now lacking rewards.

I believe the argument for them being removed went along with the fact weapons would be sunset and no longer viable. Obviously with sunsetting all but removed, seasonal ornaments could make a return to fill in some gaps.

Bungie, please. I love my Cold Denial and it's ornament. I'm sure people would love the chance at an ornament on future weapons that could become their favorites.

Met a fellow Destiny 2 fan in Tesco !

    Posted: 06 Jun 2021 03:54 PM PDT

    So,

I was in Tesco, picking up some snacky snacks for my pregnant girlfriend ( glamorous I know )

Whilst in the queue, I was whistling Savathûns Song without realising as you do when you play Destiny daily.

The guy behind me, without hesitation, says " I really hope something bad happens to Lakshmi-2 " 😂😂 I burst out laughing and now I have a new friend to talk to about lore via Discord. Gutted he's on Xbox as I'd have had him in my clan instantly.

Anyone else met fellow gamers in the wild?

I was playing trials and someone on the enemy team spammed 14 fusion rifle shots! And the other teammate ate grenade launcher ammo for days! I we reset special ammo after each round, it will help with the special ammo problem in trials, I feel like there should be no reason someone should be having 10+ bullets for there special at the start of a trials round.

Using exotic cypher on Xur should allow you to pick a already owned exotic with random rolls, or the choice of a new exotic.

    Posted: 06 Jun 2021 03:20 PM PDT

I have been trying to get geomags with a roll I like for a while now. I know we have lost sectors but that is a pain when going for a certain item. I have unlocked all exotics so the cypher is pretty useless. If I could use it on Xur to claim an already owned exotic with a random roll, I would feel the need to pick up the quest for it each week.

The Highest Damage Single Melee for Season of the Splicer: One Punch Man Hunter

    Posted: 06 Jun 2021 10:51 AM PDT

I've been having fun using some off-meta builds and trying out some underutilised exotics (Young Ahamkara's Spine, Oathkeepers, Graviton Forfeit) and figured I would try my hand at a Liar's Handshake build using Arcstrider (Way of the Warrior (top tree)). So get ready for some numbers.

Testing was performed against the "Wanted: Shayotet Partisan" in the "The Conflux" Lost Sector in The Cistern on Nessus. We start out with a base damage of 7,103. Then using a One-Two punch shotgun (such as the Retold Tale, Found Verdict or The Deicide) this jumps up all the way to 21,309 (x3 multiplier), which is the same as Liar's Handshake (against Miniboss enemies at least). Combining both One-Two Punch with Liar's Handshake gives us a figure of 38,356 (x5.4).

In theory, this should be a x9 multiplier but Bungie caps Liar's Handshake multiplier at x1.8 when paired with One-Two punch (1.8 * 3 = 5.4). So it doesn't matter that we're testing against a miniboss, rather than an actual boss which usually gets a x4.5.

Almost 40K damage just for a punch isn't bad, but we're only just getting started. Using Combination Blow from Way of the Warrior, stacking it up three times we can smack an enemy for 29,094 damage (x4.1). Uniting this with the One-Two Punch and Cross Counter combo brings us to 157,106 damage (x22.12), enough to take out most tough enemies in a single punch and really put the hurt on some bosses. Furthermore, by implementing a global debuff of 30% (i.e. tether or Breach & Clear, I'm partial to Tractor Cannon personally) we can drive this number up to 203,237 (x28.61 over base melee).

You thought we were done? Not quite yet. Introduced this season is the Elemental Well mod: Well of Ions. This is another +30% damage to our melee for 10 seconds after picking up an arc elemental well. Sidenote: using the Overload Wellmaker mod works great for this, spawning two arc wells after performing a finisher (allowing the buff to increase to 15 seconds after picking up the second well). Stacking everything we've used so far brings us to the insane value of 265,508 (x37.38 melee multiplier) which is what you can see in this video.

Reminder: any melee attack will remove the Well of Ions buff, hence you need an enemy to melee you whilst it's still active to activate Cross Counter, it's a tight but achievable timing window.

So this was all I was able to test… But I still think there's room for theory crafting. If you're lucky enough to stumble into a strike when it's arc singe, you should (again, I have not tested this) get a nice +25% damage to your arc melee. Then if you're even luckier, you can pair this with the Brawler modifier for double melee damage. Plugging these modifiers into the highest attained figure, we arrive at an utterly ridiculous 664,425 damage smack to the face (x93.54).

You wouldn't be able to get this in any difficult content like raids or nightfalls, granted. But it's fun to think about killing a strike boss in a single punch.

That's all I could think about to buff the melee as a solo player, unless I've missed something. But what if you had a fireteam with you… What about say, a Ward of Dawn Titan? From this post, I learned that whilst standing inside a Ward of Dawn (not just the Weapons of Light buff), you get +50% melee damage. If we factor this into our highest tested damage number, we get a simulated damage figure of 398655 (x56.12). But if we're lucky enough to get arc singe/brawler once again, well then it gets stupid: 996638 damage. This is punching the boss with the force of ~140 blows in a single strike for almost a million damage (someone do the maths to figure out how many gigawatts that is).

Being able to set all of this up with the Ward of Dawn is already incredibly situational and then there's also the timegated aspect of the strike playlist modifiers, but I would LOVE to see someone actually pull this off in the future, if it's even possible to stack all of these things. That's my challenge to all the Hunters reading this (and your Titan friends I guess).

EDIT: u/WatLightyear has informed the +50% melee in Ward of Dawn only applies to the Titan that casts it. Theory debunked, but still possibly has potential in a Titan melee build?

Let me know if I managed to mess up any of the maths or forgot about any other mods or factors that can affect melee damage. I did test Power of Rasputin as well, but it only affected weapon damage.

Here's the results of all my testing in some tables below for your viewing pleasure. Anything in italics is a simulated value and was not actually tested. Anything in bold is probably just a big/notable number.

    Modifier(s) Damage Multiplier (2dp)

    WoI + CBx3 + OTP + CC 204439 x28.78
    WoI + CBx3 + OTP + CC + TC 265508 x37.38

The following are mostly simulated/theoretical figures, if someone can manage to pull off the big combos please comment and/or make a post about it!

    Modifier(s) Damage Multiplier (2dp)
    Arc Singe 8879 x1.25
    Brawler 14206 x2.00
    WoI + CBx3 + OTP + CC + TC + Arc + Brawler 664425 x93.54
    (Titan) Base 7103 x1.00
Weapons of Light (Outside bubble) 7103 x1.00
Ward of Dawn (WoD) (Must be INSIDE bubble) 10655 x1.50
    WoI + CBx3 + OTP + CC + TC + WoD 398655 x56.12
    WoI + CBx3 + OTP + CC + TC + WoD + Arc + Brawler 996638 x140.31

TLDR: big slap damage, over 250K pretty consistently achievable, 1 million damage theoretically possible? debunked, over 650K theoretically possible?

    Key build components:

    • Top Tree Arcstrider (Combination Blow)
    • Liar's Handshake (Cross Counter)
    • One-Two Punch Shotgun
    • Tractor Cannon (or Breach & Clear for this season)
    • Well of Ions (using Overload Wellmaker)

I would play Gambit way more, if it actually dropped Gambit loot

    Posted: 06 Jun 2021 04:43 PM PDT

Played the 3 games for the weekly pinnacle, didn't get a single piece of gambit loot at the end of each game (had gambit prosperity mod on ghost), nor did I get a gambit drop for the weekly pinnacle, nor did I get any gambit loot for the 2 reputation engrams from the Drifter afterwards.

Bungie: If I'm playing gambit, I want gambit loot, not world loot. World loot should drop from worldly activities, gambit loot should drop from gambit. Is it that hard?

It's not game breaking but, can we set Hard Light's Element for an entire match/strike regardless of dying?

    Posted: 06 Jun 2021 10:38 AM PDT

It gets kind of annoying when I'm doing bounties and using Hard Light (Love it, great gun, fun, and can be any element) but have to click and hold my reload a few times every time I spawn. This is especially noticeable in Crucible, when I need it to be Solar, as it defaults to Void when you respawn.

It often doesn't make a big difference, but even when I'm not doing bounties I usually like to run it on Arc to match my most common subclass.

Give us a way to "lock in" the type of element the gun is? A setting inside the weapons options?

This subreddit has an 'echo chamber' upvoting problem and I would like to peacefully discuss

    Posted: 06 Jun 2021 06:26 AM PDT

I'm not trying to tip-toe around the sub rules here or incite hate or anything like that. This is meant as more of a door to discussion to be had.

There are a large group of folks that downvote folks arguments/counter suggestions/opinions when they simply don't agree with it. This essentially makes their comment 'disappear' and this group then upvotes folks in mass that they agree which makes those comments/opinions appear very visibly. I think this is a problem because when the community managers come browsing this sub for feedback/opinions it looks like the community is unified on certain subjects when in reality we're not.

It becomes a situation where anyone who dares say that they don't agree with what the majority says gets their comments downvoted into oblivion and they dissappear. This is messed up.

For clarification I'm not talking about people that come out slinging insults that get downvoted, they usually seem to only want to sow discord and not contribute to discussion. Im talking about posts like that Masterwork Rerolling post that went up and reached near the front page.

Anyone who was on team 'yes let us reroll/straight up choose our masterwork' were downvoting anyone who had an opposite opinion on that post. It looks like the community is then unified on this opinion of rerolling when the CMs come rolling by but in reality we're probably not. This is dangerous 'controlling the narrative' type stuff.

Im not sure what could be done about this but I wanted to bring it up because its a trending path on this subreddit and I think its very dangerous.

    Curious what you all think.

It takes an expected 204 days to get all combat mods from Ada-1 if every mod is equally weighted.

    Posted: 06 Jun 2021 07:46 PM PDT

    The expected value of random rolls it takes to finish a whole collection of something of size n is n/1 + n/2 + n/3 + … + n/(n-1) + n/n

Since there are 47 combat mods not including wells, this is 47/1 + 47/2 + 47/3 + … + 47/47. That is approximately 204 rolls. Ada sells 1 combat mod every day so that would mean an expected value of 204 days to get all the mods. That is assuming that each mod has an equal probability of being sold every given day.

On the last mod to finish your collection, each day has a 1/47 chance to be the one you need. That alone has an expected value of 47 days to get that last mod.

To me, that is far too long for a game where builds are so important. That's 29 weeks, more than half a year, and more than 2 seasons. Also remember this isn't even a guarantee.

    An idea

One thought that I have is to have a bag system. Throw 2 of each combat mod into a bag. So there are 94 mods in the bag, 2 protective lights, two quick charge, etc.

Each day Ada-1 draws from the bag and sells a mod from the bag. That mod isn't put back into the bag until the bag is empty. As an example, on the first day with a full bag, everything has an equal chance. Let's say Quick Charge is sold on that first day. Now there's only 1 Quick Charge left in the bag. For day 2, there's 2 of every mod except for Quick charge so there would be half chance of getting quick charge compared to everything else.

Since mods aren't put back into the bag after they're sold, we're guaranteed to have every mod sold twice in 94 days (the number of items in the bag). At that point, the bag is refilled and we go again!

There's still randomness for what mods get sold, but at least if you start playing again, you can get all the mods within a season if you play every day.

TL;DR: Takes too long (204 expected days!) to get all the mods and nothing is even close to guaranteed.

Bungie for god's sake please fix weapon mods from Ada-1 and Banshee! Duplicates almost every day last month.

    Posted: 06 Jun 2021 01:42 PM PDT

I'm sure it has been said many times but, we need better rnc for mods. Right now we get the same ones day after day for banshee and Ad-1. I know many of you are hardcore veteran guardians, who probably have all the mods, but many of us returning players would like to grind bounties so we can get the best mods to run the harder end-level content. I keep my eye on Twitter feeds like "Destiny Insights" hoping to see Protective Light or any Warmind mods to no avail. Please instead give us all the mods and raise the price or something so all guardians can fight the good fight.

Sunday Plz - Allow us to unlock all artifact mods!

    Posted: 06 Jun 2021 02:00 AM PDT

    Greetings Guardians!

Ever since the conception of this sub, we've dealt with floods of reposts. We're sure you're familiar with them. Many are for important issues that are shared by the entire player base, while others are just for personal requests and desires for the game. The Bungie Plz was shortly implemented after conception as a central "wish-list" for all that we, the community, desired. It is completely user driven. With rare exceptions, nearly all submissions are sent in by you, the users of this subreddit!

However, just like Destiny 2, our wiki article began to experience problems as it grew over time. It's been getting just a few sizes too big. We understand that the continued addition of topics has begun to encroach on your ability to continue the conversation towards matters that mean the most to you, and even though the Bungie Plz has seen so many successes over the years, with well over 100 officially implemented game suggestions and desires, there's still dozens upon dozens of retired topics that haven't seen the light of day for many months...even years!

Every Sunday, this thread will focus on a certain retired Bungie Plz topic of your choosing, voted by the users. We will curate a list of 5 suggestions to help focus your voting process, but you get the final say on what is talked about each week. By all means, if one topic is overwhelmingly desired despite not being part of those 5 items we picked, then we'll be happy to go with that one. Our curated list is only to help you focus the conversation. The only stipulation is that the topic must be new every week. This thread is for the entirety of the Bungie Plz wiki, so no back-to-back voting!

Think of these threads as a way to keep the spark alive, and to bring old topics up to fresh light. For example, do we still want to move Queenbreaker to the special slot? Or does Arbalest serve that purpose well enough now? Do we still want an all-black shader, or do we want to bring back Prismatic Matrix?

You tell us! This is your conversation, guardians.

For this week, you voted on:

Allow us to unlock all seasonal artifact mods

For next week, here are some suggestions:

    • An exotic that allows Sunbreaker Titans to summon their throwing hammer back to their hand
    • Revert the Box Breathing nerf
    • Reintroduce the Faction Vendors
    • Rework the Black Talon Catalyst
    • Make all bounty progression shared across fireteams

Sound off in the sticky comment for which one sounds good (just give us a moment to put it up), or anything else in the Bungie Plz wiki that catches your eye, and we'll do our best to accommodate!

Here's hoping that Aunor makes an in-game appearance sometime in the future.

    Posted: 06 Jun 2021 05:53 AM PDT

Despite her not being one of D2's more popular characters, I've always had a soft spot for the character. In-game Lore tabs show that she's always had the interests of the Last City at heart, despite her methods (E.g. Leaking of Hidden Documents).

Hopefully Bungie decides to include her in the game at some point in the future, maybe even as a Seasonal vendor?

The increasing cost for artifact changes is anti-player and anti-"play your way."

    Posted: 06 Jun 2021 04:17 PM PDT

EDIT: I misunderstood "play your way," but it still sucks.

I've been trying to experiment with the different options in the artifact, but I've just about given up at this point since it will cost 37.5k glimmer. This just feels bad, especially when I pay for the season. This game keeps piling on mobile game tier grinds for both the free and the paid players.

YEAH! GUESS WHO CALLED IT! And that only ELEVATED MY HATRED OF THESE BEASTS! ENDLESS SLAUGHETER! ONE MAN, A TRILLION DEATHS UPON HIS FOES!

And even when everyone was all about the Hive Gods being the real threat, I ignored you all because I'm not foolish. FOOLS YOU ALL ARE! TTK's lore gave me insight, such insight that I never feared the Hive. I knew that Savathun wouldn't come to attack us but ask our help and destroying her Worm (then we'd backstab and kill her) and Xivu likes the big murder and I'm going to murder. So with Season of the Chosen I now have insight on how to beat her...I'M GOING TO MARRY HER! DAMN RIGHT! PEACE THROUGH HOLY UNITY! BIG HIVE MOMMY WANTS TO DESTROY THE CABAL AND I'M GOING TO DO IT FOR HER! She'll love me and we'll have a billion hive babies that'll ALL be Knights AND BORN IN THE LIGHT! So yes, the Hive Gods aren't a threat yet those FUCKING CABAL have anti light bullets. ANTI, LIGHT, BULLETS! FUCK THE CABAL!

Empress Caialt will be my slave, Calus a smoldering skull next to Ghaul's and that one Psion sister THAT I DIDN'T FORGET ABOUT, will just be allowed to walk away. AFTER I SKULL FUCK HER!
THE CABAL SHALL FALL! Well, I guess unless they actually ally with us then I'm cool with them but to those who don't DEATH! DEATH THROUGH FIRE FROM THE LIGHT! KILL, MAIM, MURDER! I will make a set of exotic boots that teleport a Cabal baby underneath my feet so that every time I take a step I squish the little bastards. I shall slaughter so many Cabal that we'll use their bones as the new seasonal currency. I'll crush the remnants of the Red Legion, gather their arms and armor and drop them aboard the very ships lingering over Sol system. When Saladin spoke of how we broke the Cabal he didn't know that it was me who broke those Legions. While you threw Atheon off a cliff, I strangled Cabal.

So yes, I want my cutscene. I'm a golden Exo Titan with two black horns and yellow eyes, BTW. I normally wear Calus' armors as a show of power to the Red Legion and wouldn't mind being depicted as a Sunbreaker in the cutscene. Thank you for your time I'm off to work have a good day everyone, EXPECT YOU CABAL SPIES HACKING OUR NETWORK! Your time will come.

Would you play fixed load out crucible?

Seeing how scorched (basically rocket launchers) was well received and now laser tag weekend (greatly polarised) got me thinking - would the general pvp community enjoy a game mode with fixed weapons that rotate weekly? Like snipers only, fusions only etc

Exotics that actively have you go into the weapons menu and change the exotic perk need to be changed to hold reload to switch.

Weapons like Queensbreaker and Suros Regime suffer from this and ngl it sucks.

I think itd be a nice QoL change.

(quick off topic note to bungie, Suros 450rpm mode's sound very frequently doesnt work and no audio comes out. I got my friend in a lobby and he couldnt hear it either. So a fix for that would be nice :) )
