Why is the PvP Community complaining about GLs now

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 01:28 PM PDT

They take skill to use effectively, and the reason you percive them as "OP" is because they're a very good counter to the current peak shooting meta and snipers

I've been a GL user since Y1, it took me a lot of time to master things like Timing, Trajectory, timing the trigger release to explode a greande, banking and baiting etc

You know what ill tell you now how to counter a GL user like me, move away from areas you're being banked at, and stay in the air, GLs are useless against someone in the air yet very good at punishing peak shooters, stop trying to get everything nerfed because you're too stupid or headstrong to take them on, adjust your stale bland playstyle that is good at countering you

Why are they ALL OF A FUCKING SUDDEN, an issue now, are you PvP players ever happy, idk for the past 3 years its always been SOMETHING to complain about, its like problem of the week, Stasis is now very balanced in PvP and now suddenly GLs are an issue when they were not before?

GLs take skill to use effectively, and as i said, hard counter the current Peak Shooting Meta, and isn't that what a healthy PvP game should be, having answers and counters to what the meta is?, how about instead of crying for Nerfs on everything you adapt your playstyle instead of sticking to your normal playstyle, like anyone who's played an FPS PvP should be doing

idk man i'm just sick and tired of it, there's ALWAYS a problem, ALWAYS something that's OP, ALWAYS something that needs nerfing because Traveller forbid something is challengeing your HC ShottySnipes meta

And then you have the Ghaul to say the Meta and PvP game is boring and stale after something gets nerfed and it goes back the normal HC ShottySnipes meta, fuck off.

Sorry for getting ranty, i'm just sick of this whole "Issue of the Week" bullshit that has infested the PvP community

Bungie, I LOVE the completely different Atheon damage meta

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 09:27 AM PDT

I LOVE that the meta for Atheon is completely different than anything else in the game. Where else is Burning Maul the top damage option? Where else is spamming fusion grenades the best choice? Where else do weapons not really matter? Bungie hit a home run with the Atheon fight imo. Would love to see something similar eventually.

EDIT: Note that by "Burning maul being the top damage option," I mean spamming fusion grenades with Roaring Flames 3x, not the actual Burning Maul super. That thing still sucks

Le Monarque still can’t create orbs. This is a travesty.

Title. One of the most unique weapons in the game, a bow at that, completely neglected since its arrival.

Edit: I meant tragedy. Sorry it still makes me see red

I made a Loadout Selector UI design that lets you equip saved Loadout quickly.

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 07:04 AM PDT

    Hello :)

I made a Loadout Selector UI design that lets you equip saved Loadout quickly. I would love to see something like this in the future so I don't have to waste a lot of time changing gears and equipping mods in between different types of PvE and PvP content.

    Check it out here.

I tried to make it look like an actual Destiny 2 feature as much as I could. In my design, the background color of preview armor is based on Subclass and everything in the set can be seen when you hover your cursor over the preview. And you can give the Loadout any name.

Bungie please add a feature like this as I know a lot of people would love to have this in the game <3

PS I made this using photoshop with only screenshots I had on my Hard Drive because I didn't have internet for 3 straight days while I was travelling.

Leviathan's breath should do full dmg to unstoppable champions when they are glowing red regardless of the fact whether they are stunned or not.

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 12:46 PM PDT

My biggest issue with Leviathan's breath is the fact that the first shot on an unstoppable champion does significantly reduced damage. This exotic is supposed to be strong against unstoppable champions, but I am better off using a different weapon to stun the unstoppable and then switching to leviathans breath to do dmg.

The way the exotic works now is just a waste of heavy ammo if you're using it to stun an unstoppable champion because of reduced dmg.

It should be changed so that whenever the unstoppable champion is glowing red, Leviathan's breath should do full dmg and stun the champion.

It will definitely give me an incentive to use this exotic in high-difficulty nightfalls and master lost sectors.

    Presage is Beautiful

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 08:10 AM PDT

I just bought Deluxe so I could get DMT and run Presage, and I'm blown away by the thought that went into the mission. I'm sure I missed some clever details, but just in the first run I saw a reference to Halo 2 (the big hangar fight, incredibly similar layout to the hangar fight in the first Halo 2 mission) and a reference to Star Wars (the trash compactor room).

Bungie put a ton of love into this one mission, I wish every mission felt this way.

So I might be addicted to Duality...

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 07:35 AM PDT

I recently passed 10,000 Crucible kills on Duality.

I legitimately think this thing is better than Felwinters or Astral Horizon. Has anyone else given this thing some serious play yet?

Can we get an underperforming exotic overhaul.

    Posted: 06 Jun 2021 11:58 PM PDT

currently there is FAR to many exotics in D2 that have either next to no, or no place, be it Armor or weapons. and with each new season dumping at least 2 new weapons and 3 new pieces of Armor on us. this problem is only exacerbated.

these updates/improvements would also allow older weapons to interact with the new mechanics of D2, namely champions, considering there's only 1 permanent way to stun an overload.

I dont mean ONLY slap a champion mod on the weapons, but for some it is an idea to go along side other tuning,

Edit : this post blew up, and we have gotten an response by DMG, in the comments. if you do go to reply to him try not to spam comments at him.

Bungie, if the damage of my grenade is based on enemies staying in its AoE, please don't also give it the effect of shoving people out of its AoE.

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 09:55 AM PDT

I'm not sure if this has gotten worse or if I'm just noticing it more lately, but this is a really aggravating part of trying to use many of the grenades in this game. Vortex, Solar, and Pulse grenades all require enemies to stay within their radius in order to deal damage, yet they also all push enemies out of it.

This can happen in two different ways two. The first is when the grenade is thrown directly on the enemy. These grenades all deal an initial burst of damage on impact, which can have a fairly significant stagger effect to it. This often shoves enemies far enough away that they end up outside the radius of the rest of the grenade. There's also a delay on both Vortex and Solar grenades the happens between the impact of the grenade and before the rapid damage ticks start to happen, which seems to be there in order to guarantee that if the impact doesn't shove them out of the radius, the delay will give them time to walk the rest of the way out.

The second way that this happens is from the stagger of the grenades themselves. Each tick of damage seems to cause the enemy not just to flinch, but also to stagger backwards. Vortex and Solar are designed around not dealing large amounts of damage from ticks, but instead dealing many small ticks worth of damage over a short period of time. This doesn't work when each tick also pushes the enemy a step towards the edge of the grenades radius. Pulse grenades have a similar effect, except deal large, infrequent ticks of damage, which also seem to shove the enemy proportionally farther.

All of this makes these grenades frustrating to use and seems to be a bizarre design choice (especially for a grenade called a Vortex grenade), but what's worse is how this works for the new Stasis version of this type of grenade, the Duskefield grenade. Not only does this grenade NOT slingshot enemies away on its initial impact, it actually pulls them into its area of effect. Not only that, it also doesn't stagger them out of its own radius, AND slows and eventually freezes them to keep them from leaving. It would be nice if these other grenades could get some kind of a similar effect to this for PvE, or at the very least not have the opposite effect of shoving enemies out of their own radius. Again, a vacuum effect seems like the exact type of effect you'd find on a grenade called a Vortex grenade, and while it's understandable not to have it for balance purposes, it's also a bit frustrating that another grenade DOES have it, when said grenade already has other effects built into to prevent enemies from leaving the area.

Is anybody else having this problem? Is it possible to change it? It would be nice if at the very least, if enemies are going to be flinched by the grenade, they were flinched into it instead of out of it. These are some of the only grenades that deal any amount of damage in higher-level PvE activities, and it'd be nice if they also didn't act as counters to themselves in this regard.

We need more character inventory space

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 03:38 PM PDT

We just have so much variety in weapons. I feel like this is a good problem to have but I'm constantly switching up loadouts then sometimes I have 2 of the same weapon in my inventory for pvp and pve. 10 just isn't cutting it after nearly 4 years

Yes we need more vault space too

How Hot is a Golden Gun shot?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 08:43 AM PDT

    Video: https://youtu.be/cV37VymUV3k

This is the second in a series of videos where I use physics and game footage to calculate fun stuff, in this case: What's the actual temperature of the Golden Gun shot?

There are a few different ways I could have gona about this, but the one I settled on was as follows.

    • Since we know a GG shot nearly instantly vaporizes a guardian target, find out how much energy is required for such a feat. Luckily, I found exactly that Source. Read this. It's wild..

    • Take footage of guardians being shot by GG and determine the amount of time it takes for them to completely disappear upon point of impact.

    • Since the "bullet" is in direct contact with the victim, use the 1D heat conduction equation (with some appropriate simplifications) to solve for the GG temperature, using the above information.

    The solution? 23.6 BILLION K, or 42.3 BILLION °F!!

That's crazy hot. Like hotter than the infant universe 100 seconds after the Big Bang. (Although interestingly not the hottest thing even on Earth, which goes to iron ion collisions at the Large Hadron Collider). Part of the reason why is that this isn't normal vaporisation, it's the complete dissociation of the molecules (i.e. breaking them down into their base elements), which requires a metric crapton of energy.

However, it's not all perfect. See, we can vaporize a Vex Goblin just as easily, and in the exact same amount of time as a human. Only problem is, the energy required to dissociate metal is a loooot higher, meaning the temperature should be a lot higher... But then, guardians should vaporize much quicker... annd you see the problem. It's like the Golden Gun selectively changes temperature, or you know, it's just a video game.

Either way, I hope you guys have as much fun watching as I had making this video. Thanks for helping to make the last one Movie of the Week!

Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the awesome music I used. It's a synthwave remix of Deep Stone Lullaby by Cozy Robinson. He makes great stuff.

Behemoth has completely lost its power fantasy in PvE and as someone who used it religiously since beyond light in all kinds of endgame content, it hurts

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 10:54 AM PDT

Cryoclasm + Glacier grenades Behemoth super Howl of the storm Whisper of hedrons

All of these were integral to so many builds. Things like creating howl of the storm then sliding through to give you space and take care of adds was amazing, now cryoclasm was nerfed to not allow that. The super was a dream for traversing tough areas in hard content, now you feel like a squishy rock, barley moving at all as enemies pummel you. I totally agree that stasis needed a nerf in PvP, but what's happened to it in PvE is unacceptable.

Please address this bungie, the power fantasy is gone and all that's left is a shitty one trick pony.

i was today years old when i realized that each guardian jump only gets two out of three possible effects

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 12:49 PM PDT

so like, the three stats are distance, lift, and fall negation. titan gets distance and lift, but not fall negation. warlock gets distance and fall negation, but not lift. hunter gets lift and fall negation but not distance.

so there, that's a thing i know now. was this design decision obvious to anyone else? cuz it wasn't to me x-x

Thank you Bungie for not counting deaths after the mission complete banner for flawless VoG

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 08:21 AM PDT

I got my flawless VoG recently and one of the guys was being funny after the mission complete banner and killed himself by running into the light. The whole group was angry that raid.report might not count it, BUT we unlocked the shader and raid.report marked it as flawless. It was a huge relief to our group.

It's time to fully address Bad Luck Protection

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 01:55 PM PDT

Bungie...It's time to fully address Bad Luck Protection

EoT still not dropping for many people I know who completed 3 characters since day one.

Also, Bungie is still silent with the real number of Bad Luck Protection, which seems to be a lie at this point. Not to mention some people hadn't dropped a piece of armour in old raids; hence never complete its corresponding title.

Mostly the problem is Bungie tying the Skill-based Triumph with an RNG drops in Collection. Separated the collection from the Title requirement = problem solved. Or else, fully address how Bad Luck Protection works. Give accumulating and extra drop rate in Master Mode, etc.

Anyhow, this topic usually gets no attention from Bungie support in the forum. No matter how much people are asking Bungie to address its real number.

Thank you Bungie, Subsistence on SMGs feels just right now!

Compared to last season, my main SMG will now be a Subsistence/Surrounded ikelos smgbwhich i'm not going to take off anytime soon! The changes to the perk have made it just perfect for its intended use, and since this was something i complained about last season (sub giving back 3 bullets lol) i want to give credit to Bungie for actually acting upon that feedback! Appreciated ;)

Could we PLEASE have the ability to preview armor ornaments in the Eververse with different shaders?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 11:10 PM PDT

This is by no means a priority change, but the fact that the only way you can see how well Eververse ornaments look with different shaders is by flat-out purchasing them for BD/Silver is super annoying.

Saint-14 should sell previous trials armor for tokens

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 10:35 AM PDT

Title. Maybe a good idea because FOMO? You'd still have to grind trials in order to buy the armor. I don't see anything wrong with it I definitely would like to get my hands on the hood of the exile that I missed because I wasn't into destiny or trials as much at the time when that armor was being rewarded and I can probably assume a lot of others have armor they missed out on. It can kind of work like Ada who sells a random set of armor every weekly reset.

Reminder: you can level-up your alts by buying exotics from Xur using your main

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 02:53 AM PDT

This is nothing new, but there are many new players or people that just simply doesn't know yet: every exotic you buy from Xur is the same power level as the character you buy it with. Up to the current powerful cap, 1310.

As you level your main, you can use it to buy exotics for your alts every week and make it easier to mantain them at a useful power level.

Past seasons you could achieve this even easier by using the Season Pass armor, but not anymore.
