This week at Bungie, we prepare for the return of Grandmaster Nightfalls.

An Endless Night persists and Guardians continue to infiltrate the Vex network via Overrides and Expunges. Even with each Vex Mind defeated, we're left with a puzzle that is still missing pieces. This week, many of you have already made a chilling discovery about who is orchestrating this cyber war, planting more seeds to undermine the future of the Last City. If you haven't played yet this week, we'll leave the story bits for you to uncover. Some of the most powerful moments in Destiny are that of discovery, so we won't spoil the fun!

Outside of your Splicer initiatives, Vault of Glass challenges have begun. Each week, one encounter in the raid will feature a challenge for your fireteam to overcome. If you succeed, you'll get additional loot as you continue to climb in Pinnacle Power. Some of you may be wondering what you need so much Power for. Well, we have two activities coming online this Season. Grandmaster Nightfalls return next week, followed by Master difficulty for Vault of Glass on July 6. So, let's talk about Grandmasters, shall we...?

    Continue to Conquer

For those who are just beginning to dabble in endgame, Grandmaster Nightfalls are "aspirational content" in Destiny 2. Each week, you and your fireteam will be challenged by stronger enemies, tricky modifiers, terrifying Champions, and beefy bosses as you hunt for powerful rewards. Revives are limited, so you'll want to be strategic in your engagements. Saving ammo to burn down specific targets at a moment's notice, using Supers to keep your teammates alive, and making sure to have the appropriate armor mods equipped to keep your abilities up as often as possible.

Guardians must be at 1335 Power to enter Grandmaster Nightfall events. This is a mix of both Pinnacle Power, which can be earned from numerous activities, and your Artifact Power, which continues to rise as you gain XP. If you're still feeling a bit under-leveled, make sure to complete your Seasonal Challenges, snag some bounties before hitting your weekly activities, and complete your weekly milestones in raids, Nightfalls, ritual activities, and more. Now, let's talk rewards.

    Image Linkimgur

Adept weapons made their PvE debut last Season, and we're continuing that trend! Plug One.1, Hung Jury, and Uzume RR4 will each be available as Adept weapons, receiving additional stats when fully Masterworked and the ability to take Adept weapon mods.

Each week, Grandmasters will cycle, like lower difficulty Nightfalls do right now. As you complete each strike, you'll earn progress towards Triumphs that unlock the Conqueror title. If you've already unlocked the base title, you can begin to gild your title for some golden treatment! If you miss a specific strike required for the title this Season, don't worry. All featured strikes will be available through a Grandmaster Nightfall node starting on August 3. The catch-up node will be available through the end of the Season.

Starting on July 13, the Nightfall reward rotation will enter a four-week cycle. Week one grants Plug One.1, week two grants Hung Jury, week three grants Uzume RR4, and week four will feature Shadow Price, Palindrome, and The S.W.A.R.M as potential rewards.

    Image Linkimgur

We wish you luck on your quest to overcome the challenge of Grandmaster Nightfalls. We know you don't need it, though. You've got the skills. As we get closer to Season 15, we'll have news on quality of life improvements regarding strikes. There are changes coming next Season for the way you Gild your Conqueror Title, plus some nice changes for Zavala and his vendor rewards.

    More to come, stay tuned!

We Told You We'd Make a Toaster

In June 2020, the Destiny community raised more than $800,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital® during Bungie's livestream supporting Gaming Community Expo (GCX). During the livestream, Bungie announced that if we hit $777,777.77, we would look into creating an official Destiny Toaster.

"Get that bread!" may have started as a silly community meme about earning god-rolls on loot, but it's now become a physical Destiny Toaster available on the Bungie Store for purchase. We're also excited to announce that 10 percent of profits from sales of the Destiny Toaster will go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

    Image Linkimgur

Yes, it will actually toast a Tricorn onto your bread. Yes, it comes with a free sandwich container so you can keep your food safe during your quests. Oh, and it comes with the fancy Burnt Edges in-game emblem.

    Image Linkimgur

"Don't let your memes be dreams," as some say. Cheers to all who donated in the past, and cheers to all who are actively donating to the GCX charity stream right now. If you haven't yet, head on over to GCXEvent.com to check it out!

    Gaming in Our Prime

Earlier this week, we refreshed our Prime Gaming rewards. You know about these, right? Sweet emotes, Sparrows, Ghost Shells, transmat effects, Exotic ornaments, and more that can be earned via Prime Gaming. If you're not signed up, head over to the Prime Gaming portal ASAP! Here's what we've got for you this month:

Take Turns on the Grav Lift

Day in and day out, the Destiny Player Support team digs through the #Help forums in search of details to assist in our bug investigations. Between investigations, they also take time to arm our community with knowledge about the systems of Destiny 2, ranging from loot to Cross Save and many more.

    This is their report.

    CROSS SAVE REMINDERS

Prior to activating Cross Save between their platform accounts, players should understand the following:

    • Cross Save does not permanently transfer your characters or game data to another platform. This is not possible to perform.
    • The account containing the characters that you wish to use across multiple platforms must be selected as the Active Cross Save.
    • The 90-day deactivation period for deactivating Cross Save is mandatory and unskippable. There are no exceptions to this policy.
    • DLC and Silver do not transfer between platforms with Cross Save.
    • Cross Save is only supported for Destiny 2 and cannot be used on Destiny 1 characters.

With this information in mind, players can get started with Cross Save through this link to our Cross Save setup page.

    VAULT OF GLASS BUNGIE REWARDS

Players who are interested in purchasing the Vault of Glass Raid Ring and the Vault of Glass Raid Jacket have until June 30 at 9:59 AM PDT to claim the reward through the Bungie Rewards page or they will be unable to purchase the associated item. Players have until June 30 at 11:59 PM PDT to purchase the Raid Ring and Raid Jacket through the Bungie Store.

    PREVIOUS SEASON PASS REWARDS

We are currently investigating an issue on the Previous Season page where previous Season Pass rewards do not refresh upon selecting different characters in browser. Players who encounter issues can still claim their previous Season Pass rewards for all characters via the Companion App.

    KNOWN ISSUES

While we continue investigating various known issues, here is a list of the latest issues that were reported to us in our #Help Forum:

    • If three players use the final gravity lift at the same time in the Warden of Nothing strike, one will always die on the way down. Players may want to wait outside of the bubble and join your allies in progress to circumvent dying.
    • Ada-1 has a flashing waypoint icon after players obtain 150 Synthstrand, even if there are no more bounties to acquire.
    • Enemies may appear to stand in midair near certain platforms on Europa.

For a full list of emergent issues in Destiny 2, players can review our Known Issues article. Players who observe other issues should report them to our #Help forum.

Every week, I carve out a bit of time to surf through the #Destiny2Art tag on Twitter. Truth be told, these are becoming some of my favorite hours during a given workday. Whether it be pixel art, embroidery, foam work for a cosplay, digital pen strokes, or some other medium, your skill never ceases to amaze.

Awesome stuff this week. Excited what's to come in future TWABS!

Next Tuesday, I'll be on the hunt for an Adept Plug One.1. My Grandmaster fireteam is nearly ready for the challenge, and we've been looking forward to our second Conqueror gild for a few weeks now.

Why am I excited for the Fusion, you ask? Reservoir Burst is a perfect perk for someone like me. Paired with a Firefly Fatebringer and Chain Reaction Sola's Scar, I'm going to explode everything.

    Until next time,

Travel to HELM. Travel to Tower. Travel back to HELM???

    Posted: 17 Jun 2021 04:31 AM PDT

I cannot fathom why we've gone from the sensible and fantastic hologram chats we had at the war table in Chosen to having to travel from Expunge to the HELM to speak with Mithrax through the servitor, then having to go to the tower to speak to Ikora, then having to go back to the fucking HELM.

Ffs Bungo. Why? Why do you always have to take one step forward then two steps back?

Warlocks Getaway Artists Arc Soul should proc grenade mods because it would be fun.

    Posted: 17 Jun 2021 01:30 AM PDT

For context, the Exotic Getaway Artist lets you consume your grenade and turn it into an Arc Soul. It currently counts for grenade bounties, but does not interact with mods.

The simple point is that it would be fun to have more things to build around. That's what this game is for, fun.

Converting it into an arc soul already has tradeoffs. You trade the ability to wipe out a large number of trash at one time for slightly more damage over a longer period. This is good for fighting medium to large enemies, but bad for things like thrall.

With that in mind, certain mods that require grenade final blows, such as Ashes to Assets, and Impulse Recycler, should be a simple switch because the frequency of an Arc Soul getting the last hit is already low enough considering the other weapons we're using.

Other mods that just require grenade damage may need to be toned down, but as it is Bolstering Detonation, a 1 cost mod that gives class energy on grenade damage, will fully bring back your rift if you throw it at thrall.

Getaway Artist is a great and fun exotic. But we can't build around it like we can with other things and that's a shame because more variety would be nice.

Bright Engrams should be exciting to get, but they aren't

    Posted: 16 Jun 2021 05:10 PM PDT

We get 19 bright engrams out of 100 ranks on the season pass, but then after that we get one every 5 rank ups, with absolutely nothing in between other than MAYBE an increase to our "artificial light".(That's a whole other can of worms)

Point is, they don't come by often at all, and once we complete the season pass, they drop even less.

These engrams are scarce and drop cosmetics, which means they should be quite exciting to get, but in the grand scheme of things? They aren't, especially for veteran players. New players can get shaders from them, which can be great for experimenting with new looks and such, but generally after you get the shaders, what is there to be excited by?

The chance for an Exotic cosmetic drop feels extremely low. This season I think I've gotten... one Exotic drop from a Bright Engram? And I'm currently rank 185. I've gotten a pretty large handful of them.

It's come to the point where I don't even really care about them. Whenever I 'earn' one, I know it's just going to be another reskinned legendary ghost, sparrow, or ship that I'm going to dismantle and get crumbs of legendary shards.

Cool, so you mean to tell me I earn 500,000xp and all I'm going to get from these engrams are generally just a few legendary shards? Of which I obtain in the hundreds regularly just from playing?

Bungie needs to take a note from Overwatch's book, because their overall loot box system currently is rewarding. For those unfamiliar with Overwatch's loot box system, I'll describe it below...

    • Loot boxes contain 4 cosmetics. Anything from Character Skins, Emotes, Victory Poses, Player Icons, Sprays, and Highlight Intros.
    • Item rarity is as follows: Common > Rare > Epic > Legendary
    • You're guaranteed to at least get 3 common tier items with 1 rare tier item.
    • The chance that your loot box will contain an item of the following rarities is: Common(99%), Rare(94%), Epic(18.5%), Legendary(7.5%)
    • You will always get items you don't already have from each rarity drop until you have EVERY available item of that rarity. Once you do, then you'll start earning duplicates of those items, and duplicates will net you Credits that scales based on the rarity.(The ingame currency that allows you to purchase cosmetics)

This means if you're brand new, loot boxes will be rewarding for a LONG time, and then even if you're a veteran player, you're getting credits on duplicate items that you can stock up on to purchase items you want when they're available. This also means getting an Epic or Legendary drop is always rewarding because it'll be something brand new.(again, unless you have everything)

My suggestion here is to make the following changes to the Bright Engram system--

    1. Guarantees 2 item drops of a Shader and any Rare/Legendary item.
    2. An additional chance of getting an Exotic item drop.
    3. Duplicate prevention added to ALL item drops.
    4. Once you obtain all Shaders, you'll instead get a Small Gift of Bright Dust in it's place.
    5. Once you obtain all Rare items, you'll only get items from the Legendary drop pool and vice versa.
    6. If you happen to obtain all available legendary and rare items, you'll either roll an additional Small Gift of Bright Dust or a Medium Gift of Bright Dust.
    7. If you happen to obtain all available Exotic items, you'll roll a Large Gift of Bright Dust if you happen to roll for an Exotic item.
    8. Small Gifts of Bright Dust would grant +50 bright dust, Medium Gifts would grant +150, and Large Gifts would grant +300.

This means you're not going to get the same legendary sparrow or ghost shell that you've gotten countless times, and it also means once you've got everything, the engrams will STILL be rewarding, even if all you get is +100 bright dust. Generally a player that plays on all three characters weekly could get at least 15 rank ups a week, meaning at minimum they'd only really get +300 to their BD gains from Bright Engrams if they had everything.(Which would take a while to achieve)

This wouldn't break the Bright Engram or Bright Dust economy, if anything, it would significantly help it.

Pellet shotguns could use a bit of a PvE buff

The Garden of Salvation raid is incredible.

    Posted: 17 Jun 2021 07:10 AM PDT

As someone who has only recently started dedicating most of my gaming time to Destiny after having been a very on and off player for years, I just want to say that the Garden of Salvation raid is one the most beautiful looking locations I have seen in gaming. The art design is God-tier and I honestly cannot tell how much time I spent in that raid taking screenshots alone.

And the music......just wow. From the calm ambience to the kickass boss soundtracks, the music is just phenomenal. The Consecrated Mind's soundtrack in particular I feel in love with. It's got this sort of rough, hard-hitting synth vibe to it and makes you feel pretty badass when you're doing a damage phase with all the supers activated or running across an open field of red flowers while blowing up like ten cyclops at once.

To top it all off the raid is just plain fun to do as well. Hats off the designers at Bungie for this whole raid. Absolutely incredible job.

Instead of barrels bring back scopes

    Posted: 17 Jun 2021 02:51 AM PDT

I swear there are no guns with multiple scopes when there really should be. I understand that we already complained about there being no guns / guns being really unwantable but if they had random scopes for guns I feel it would add more variability with the guns and give us that feeling that these guns are unique in some way compaired to others because they role with these scopes and not one stagnant scope. It would just be a quality of life update for guns to have changeable scopes like imagine if instead they added like 10 scopes that could be put on any gun that allows for a scope like a mod. It would be kinda like apex legends scopes except they all changed the guns stats and meshed with the guns shader. Just brainstorming here, really enjoy this game but so many guns in my opinion are unusable to many people because of how bad the scopes are.

Bungie plz: Make the Seasonal Challenges "Beyond Legendary" and "In It For The Infamy" retroactive

    Posted: 16 Jun 2021 05:38 PM PDT

If these challenges are going to continue coming back throughout future seasons, they NEED to be retroactive. There's nothing more demoralizing than seeing 0/16 when you're already halfway through the Valor/Infamy ranks when they're finally made available 5 - 7 weeks into the season. This is the exact reason I've been avoiding Gambit until the challenge returns

And for those of you who will say "Just do the bounties on all 3 characters and wait for Valor/Infamy boosts":

Some of us don't have a lot of time to play during the week, if any at all. And some of us sure as hell don't like grinding bounties on a daily basis. It would just be better to make these challenges retroactive, like Bungie's been able to do with other challenges before.

Edit: Another good idea that I've seen people recommend in the comments would be to make these 2 challenges available earlier in the season, ideally weeks 1 & 2. That way, we're always working on them throughout the rest of the season

Changing resilience to reduce incoming damage rather than increasing shield capacity would be infinitely more useful.

    Posted: 16 Jun 2021 09:52 PM PDT

Title. Idk about y'all, but after getting the catalyst for the cabal spinigun (heir apparent), I couldn't help but realize how amazing it felt to have actual tankiness on all classes, purely because the boosted shield strength from the catalyst reduced incoming damage, rather than just providing "biggg shield". Although running high resilience in pvp can be the difference between a one and two shot, right now it is practically useless in pve as combatant damage is significantly amplified in that sandbox, especially in master+ level content. Thoughts?

Bungie, please let us use our glimmer to buy our Eliksni brothers a soda in the Tower.

    Posted: 16 Jun 2021 08:04 AM PDT

Basically title. Seriously, every time I pass by the Fallen at the soda machine near Ada/Drifter, all I want to do is interact with the machine.

Let's show some solidarity with our Eliksni friends who just want to quench their thirst, and that we will not be swayed by Lakshmi's hate.

What if Dragonfly Spec became Energy Accelerant?

    Posted: 17 Jun 2021 03:10 AM PDT

We get to keep a great mod and Chain Reaction, Firefly, Reservoir Burst, etc. all get a new synergistic mod. I could see the 100% increase being too strong, maybe 50%? 35%? What do you guys think?

It's honestly a shame nothing (as of now) came about with the Age of Triumph VoG armor sets.

Not even eververse ornaments. Maybe down the line they will be reintroduced but damn those sexy armor sets are lost to time

Please no more exotic side arms with Variable Trigger. They feel unpleasant to use.

    Posted: 17 Jun 2021 08:10 AM PDT

I overlook this when it comes to Devil's Ruin because the laser is so much fun, especially with Surprise Attack. I basically use it as a pseudo special weapon.

But I absolutely hate how it feels using Cryosthesia 77K. The gun play and feel in Destiny is soooooo good, but guns that fire in the polar opposite of everything else just feel so off putting.

Also I wish we got back Trespasser instead of 77K

Bungie, please make Gambit bounties more team oriented

    Posted: 16 Jun 2021 06:32 PM PDT

Seeing bounties pop up saying to use a sidearm, or stasis kills (while there's no real current stasis weapons besides the incredibly horrible sidearm and near useless GL) , and other bounties that require people to do a certain thing that's not helpful at all to a team overall just kills the fun. The primeval summons one, motes banked, blockers sent, and envoy kills are great, but also super low requirements. If you added more like those, but increase the requirement and make others more team based, the stigma around Gambit will more than likely increase in positivity.

The entire history of the Eliksni

    Posted: 16 Jun 2021 10:16 PM PDT

A while back I came together with a bunch of voice actors, artists, and players to make a video about the fallen that covers almost everything from the edge wars to present day. One and a half months later we finished, thank you to all the volunteers who made this video a reality, I never could have done it without yall!

You will be able to watch it here:

Part of the reason we hate Lakshmi so much: OUTSTANDING work from Shohreh Agdashloo

    Posted: 16 Jun 2021 10:41 AM PDT

Maybe I'm too much of an "Expanse" geek. But not only did we get the return of Shohreh Aghdashloo as a voice actor this season, we are getting amazing, convincing performances from her.

If I really hate a character, that means I really love the actor behind it. From "This is how we win" in "The Expanse" to "Rise up as one, march toward the sun" in "Destiny," Aghdashloo has been making me feel all the things in 2021.

    Bravo!

EDIT: OMG I misspelled her name. Aghdashloo. Dammit.

SECOND EDIT: LOVE how many Screaming Firehawks are here. But to keep things on topic: The biggest deal to me is how the character of Lakshmi was fleshed out in such a large amount. The voice actors of the three factions never really got anything to work with (Peter Stormare as Arach Jalaal injected some passion into bounty lines in D1). This is the first time any of the three have been involved with a major story beat, and that in and of itself has been exciting.

We can argue about which character would have been best to lead this rebellion — the cases some of you have made for Hideo of New Monarchy are interesting. For me, however, Aghdashloo has that perfect ability to add multiple meanings in each sentence. I was thrilled to hear her at the beginning of the season — it was a nice surprise. But as the season has unfolded, the character has blossomed into something I never saw coming. And whether or not Lakshmi is the best character for it, Aghdashloo is DEFINITELY the best actor for Lakshmi.

Bungie stop making shaders into ornaments

    Posted: 16 Jun 2021 11:06 AM PDT

The vex, Eriana, traveler's chosen new ornaments are literally just gambit chrome. I am not paying money or bright dust for a shader on a exotic. An ornament should change the whole look, not the color. Also why can't I shade exotic weapons? Every time I preview a shader it shades the weapon, explain. ( let me guess, money). This is not really an issue of buying it , it's more that Bungie has the audacity to make them.

EDIT: I AM NOT BUYING THEM OR SUGGESTING YOU DO!! stop saying "then don't buy them."

Why is shatterdive enabled in Team Scorch but not Icarus dash?

    Posted: 16 Jun 2021 06:20 PM PDT

I don't see why hunters should be allowed to shatterdive if I'm not allowed to Icarus dash, or vise versa. Either let me dash or disable their dive for team scorched.

It's like my titan is being crossed by prime Allen Iverson every time I land on a pebble.

Adrenaline junkie is a bit underwhelming

    Posted: 17 Jun 2021 05:51 AM PDT

As a warlock main who frequently makes grenade builds I was quite excited when I first read the perk description of adrenaline junkie. However, when I actually tried it i was left a bit disappointed.

On primaries this perk is almost entirely useless since there are a lot of other ways to get a 30% buff for your weapon that is not only easier to activate but also easier to maintain.

On specials it's a little bit more viable since there aren't many buffs that high for special weapons but it's still a very niche and situational perk at best.

I think to increase the viability of adrenaline junkie one of, or a combination of the following buffs should be implemented.

    1. Increase buff duration to 15 secs
    2. Increase damage to MCK numbers (3x = 50%)
    3. Make it so that a single grenade kill activates the full buff

I truly apologize to anyone out there who has had to team with me….
