Trials sweat lords complain about lack of populace. Thought about looking at yourselves as the problem?

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 08:22 AM PDT

I hate trials , I'm not a good PvP player, I'm honest, but when I'm forced into this sess pool of toxicity because bungo want to put it as a seasonal challenge so the PvP lords can flex their muscles more, I'll grit my teeth for an hour an soldier through it.

It is the worst hour of my week, not because of losing, just the general attitude and toxic nature of the sweat gods.

If I get slaughtered by a good team and they are humble about it because they are better, kudos, well played, but that never happens.

Every death is followed by a bag, shooting ghost, etc, Then the insulting messages that come after, git gud, you suck, etc.

THIS IS THE REASON YOU SWEAT LORDS PLAY AGAINST EACH OTHER EVERY WEEK

You make the place such an awful experience for casuals and lesser skilled players, nobody wants to play it

Steam: chat has been broken since the beginning of Season of the Splicer.

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 08:27 PM PDT

For those of you on console, are new, or are reading this in the future: Destiny 2's Steam client has had a broken text chat for two months.

The text chat is one of the more important social features on PC because most people don't use microphones and it also allows raid teams to use Discord with people from LFG, should there be a need for it.

    The bugs/glitches are:

▪︎ Text chat sometimes just does not work. This is for the local, team, and fireteam chats. This is detrimental to the LFG experience and no-mic fireteams. Clan and Whisper are the only functional settings.

▪︎ Text chat sometimes does work, but you're stuck in the same Fireteam Chat as the first fireteam you joined. Awkward.

▪︎ If you are in a fireteam with people who can communicate in the chat they black and grey out (as though they are offline), occasionally returning to normal only to black/grey out again for a long time. This makes inspecting their character near-impossible or inconvenient.

▪︎ The clan roster does not show clanmates who are online and playing Destiny 2. Not sure if intentional.

I am sure that there are more I have not caught.

Is this going to be addressed? u/Cozmo23 u/dmg04

As a Warlock main since day 1, I would love to see more holographic bonds.

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 08:11 AM PDT

The Ancient Apocalypse bond from gambit is the best bond in the game (IMO) and I would love to see more like it. Even bringing hologram bonds from D1 would be an improvement.

Warlock class items are smallest of all the classes by far. Let's make them pop.

Hey Bungie, since Anarchy is getting nerfed could you please remove Moving Target and give it a more useful perk?

Compared to the other 5 abilities, the small Titan barricade is pointless in PvE & PvP. Here are suggestions on how to change it.

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 02:02 PM PDT

Right now, there is no place for the small barricade compared to the large barricade wall. The main ability (without any exotics) is faster reload speed for anyone by it. Ever since auto-reload was removed across the board, it fell behind. With gun reload mods, Luna/well combo & auto holster perks on weapons, the reload speed increase doesn't outweigh the protection of a giant wall.

Against the large wall, small barricade doesn't protect you. Matter of fact, if you crouch, your head is in perfect position to get popped.... with less mobility to avoid shots. PvP is just a death sentence and in PvE, you usually use the large wall for more coverage/protection against bullets.

Warlocks & Hunters have equal utility for both of their ability versions. Empowering rift is great for extra sniper damage in PvP, and healing is great everywhere. Reload & Melee dodges are also fantastic for PvE & PvP purposes. Yet the small barricade would never be used over the larger barricade.

It needs some help. Here are some suggestions on what could make the small barricade useful again:

Instead Reload with Cooldown: Let's split the difference. Instead of never-ending reloads like we have before, add a cooldown to instant reload. In theory, the cooldown should allow for 2 instant reloads if the wall is not destroyed. Works for PvE, and situational in PvP (still better than the current perks).

Crouching behind wall gives 3 seconds of 20% faster grenade recharge speed: Depending on the class and game mode, this would be a top tier perk for PvP. PvE benefits as well, but it gives the team a chance to boost grenade energy.

Instant +X points towards stats: A simple boost, give any number on here (+2, +3, +5 etc), and have that boost all 6 stats for 10 seconds. Not flashy, but useful.

A stacking Y% empowered buff: Right now a Warlock can buff a team's damage. Add the titan wall to that idea, by allowing the damage buff to stack with any other damage perk. Give it a 3-4 second buff to keep it short, but imagine a % buff stacked ONTO Rampage. Or Kill Clip, or the empowering rift. This becomes lethal in crucible, especially if players manage to time their stacking just right. It's short enough of a buff that it's not easy to always stack, but beneficial enough for people to try

Decrease recoil of all weapons when crouched: Think of a shooter having a tripod to steady their aim & control recoil.... turn the wall into basically a tripod, cutting down massively on any recoil. This becomes S tier in PvE with guns like Xeno or hard hitting pulse rifles, and adds lane control options in PvP with guns that normally have too much kick.

Ever Wondered How Handling Works In Destiny? CALCULATOR

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 01:17 PM PDT

With a lack of quickdraw on aggressive frame shotguns, knowing how handling works is more important than ever. There's a lot of questions that need to be answered: How important is the handling stat? How effective are mods and perks? Can I mimic quickdraw on a Felwinters? Well I did the heavy lifting for everyone and created a calculator for you to figure it out:

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1r77QygjQj8MFSpZaF9Cx1FPFhrUED3kiXngGRshwUvA/edit?usp=sharing

This calculator works for any weapon in the game however it IS NOT PERFECT. Between shoot animations and manually counting frames this calculator will get you accurate within about a 60th of a second. Which is far beyond what anyone should be able to "feel".

In addition here's a bit of information in case any of you want to know the juicy bits of how handling works. There are two stats, a handling number and a modifier number. The modifier merely multiplies the animation time after handling has already been determined (stacks multiplicatively). Each of these stats are determined separately for each weapon. The modifier/multiplier CAN go past 100 handling, however its only by about a single frame and isn't worth the energy space when your handling is at 100 tbh.

Here are the specific numbers in case anybody asked. nobody asked :(

Quickdraw: +100 handling on ready speed. DOES NOT AFFECT STOW

Surplus: Adds 10/25/50 handling depending on how many abilities you have. Double stacked abilities count. (An extremely good option for stasis hunter)

Dexterity Mods: 0.8x modifier, stacks multiplicatively (0.64x for two)

Threatdetector: 0.75x modifier, stacks multiplicatively (0.5625x for two)

Ophidian Aspects: Add a flat +32 handling to all weapons.

Dragons shadow: Adds +100 handling and 0.95x modifier.

Quickcharge: theoretically should add +10 handling to shotguns, I heard this was bugged so I chose not to include it in the calculator. If someone confirms this working, I will add it.

Elemental Capacitor: Adds +45 handling. ONLY WORKS ON ARC SUBCLASSES

Celerity: Adds +18 handling passively. Adds +100 handling when last person alive in trials.

Recommendations: Modifiers are more impactful on weapons with less handling that means you should equip one for whatever weapon in your loadout has less handling. If you run ophidian aspects or dragons shadow, aggressive frame shotguns are the way to go. Revenant hunters (without dragons shadow) can run a high handling astral with surplus so long as they hold on to their (more or less) useless shurikens. PRIMARY weapon handling matters, a lot. With a high handling primary swap speed , shotgun swap speed will increase dramatically.

Fun fact: Handling is more impactful on ready speed than on stow speed, only marginally so.

Anyway, I hope people found this useful. I'm thinking about doing the same thing for ads time. If enough people want that I might repost a version with ads speed as well.

Edit: Some people wanted a bit more of an in depth explanation on the numbers. At 0 handling, all weapons have the same swap duration. And for each point of handling, the animation time is reduced by a set amount. For example ready speed animation is reduced by roughly 0.222 frames per point. This is a simple line equation for ready speed: y=-0.22154h+35.51692, where h represents the handling stat. The modifies/multipliers take that same equation and multiply it. So say you did the math and the ready speed of your igneous hammer was 21 frames. But you add a dexterity mod. 21 x 0.8 = 16.8 frames.

The modifier/modifiers comes after the handling stat has already determined your swap speed, and is simple multiplication. I didn't think anyone would be interested but here are the formulas

    Ready Speed: (-0.22154 * (HANDLING STAT) + 35.51692) * (MODIFIER)

    Stow Speed: (-0.17034 * (HANDLING STAT) + 30.60252) * (MODIFIER)

You add these numbers up and that's how you can determine swap speed. And the calculator isn't perfect, because these formulas aren't perfect.

I miss the Y1 Trials of The Nine Weapons

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 12:21 PM PDT

I don't care if we get this in the form of a Nightfall reward or a revamped dungeon loot pool, these weapons looked sick and I have nostalgia for them.

I still occasionally pull out my Darkest Before which was an awesome rapid fire pulse that came strapped with Full Auto and Quickdraw. Another one of my favorites was the Purpose which was a lightweight Scout that had Explosive Payload and Hip-Fire Grip. I also can't leave out both the season 1 guns Prosecutor or Adjudicator. These weapons are super aesthetically pleasing, they used to give these out in weekly CLAN ENGRAMS (LMAO) and none of these were tied to achievements like flawless!

    Bungie bring em back!

PSA: Freehand Grip makes the bloom rifles get when leaving a sprint or slide settle dramatically faster.

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 08:17 PM PDT

For those who are unaware, rifles have their accuracy cone bloomed out when you stop sprinting or slide. Hand cannons noticably lack this mechanic, which makes them much stronger at initiating duels, because they don't have to wait for their accuracy to settle and become consistent.

Freehand Grip makes this accuracy bloom settle so fast that only things like Snapshot will be able to outpace it. You can enter any duel at maximum accuracy without ghost bullets getting you killed.

BTW, fuck this entire mechanic. Laning hasn't been a thing since the Aggressive Burst pulse rifle nerf in Y2. A few rifles are barely competitive because of how many disadvantages they have to hand cannons.

Vex mythoclast's fire rate after kill (390 rpm) should be it's default fire rate.

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 02:04 PM PDT

It actually feels like the damage at that fire rate is substantial enough. Also, it's bugged. It only works when you don't use a linear fusion rifle or a grenade launcher as your heavy weapon, oddly. So that's why I think it should just be made intrinsic, as it's an unlisted effect anyway.

Instead, vex mythoclast needs a different on kill effect.

So, why not just have vex mythoclast have intrinsic rampage? That would instantaneously elevate it from being mediocre at clearing adds, to pretty good.

Add on top of that, weapon specific damage buffs stack with body buffs like high energy fire, and you have an add clearing monster, with the ability to deal some chunk damage to majors/ultras.

Back to the rate of fire.

At base, it's 360 rpm. Same as high impact auto rifles. And, it does the same damage as them, too.

    In PvP: 36 crit 22 body. 5 crit 1 body @0.83 sec.

The problem is of course, vex mythoclast has only 21m of range before damage falloff. High impact auto rifles sit at 31m default range and can go way higher with range perks, possibly up to 40m when you stack barrel, mag and masterwork with range finder.

A weapon with less range should have a faster optimal ttk than a weapon that has longer range.

390rpm would bring the optimal ttk most likely down to around 0.73-0.77 sec. Which makes more sense considering vex mythoclast's range is similar to SMG's. And they have optimal ttk's in the 0.7 sec range.

Precision Frame Sidearms feel like trash

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 06:16 PM PDT

until recently i have always disliked using precision sidearms but i never new why, what made these sidearms feel so much worse then other sidearms.

and after looking for some good rolls for a build i found out why these weapons feel like trash when compared to other sidearms

they have almost DOUBLE the bounce intensity of the adaptive frames, this hidden stat determines the screen shake(/how jumpy the gun is) of a weapon, and is the reason 150 handcannon went from Garbage outside of a niche to being the dominate Meta weapon, so much so they where removed from the game.

i don't know if anyone cares but i hope to see this stat reduced considering how imprecise it can make the weapon feel.

I miss when Bungie would at least name the next season and reveal more info on it after content had slowed down in the current season.

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 06:54 PM PDT

This season was fantastic story wise and the activities, though few, are rewarding, but we're done with this season now besides the Solstice and Epilogue. I want some info, nothing spoiler like, but something. I don't want to have to wait until the last 3 days of a season to know what's to come next. Not to mention nothing on Witch Queen yet (Bungie day is right around the corner so let's hope something there)

I dunno, there was something special about their reveal streams back in the day. We got actual gameplay without spoiling the story and they showed off new QoL improvements and features.

Hearing from the devs themselves and seeing the content made me excited for what was to come.

Let's just hope we get info sooner rather than later.

Questions from a Warframe player who is keen on Destiny 2

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 03:36 PM PDT

hi, i have around 1800 hours on warframe and got tired of it. i've played destiny 2 when it became free, spent 23 hours playing it with my friend who is also a newbie, doing random stuff. Then i decided to shelve it. Steam summer sale came up recently and i decided to get the deluxe edition as i have heard people saying that the base free version of destiny 2 is basically a demo. when i first boot it up i became a bit dissapointed that the original campaign and the 2 free dlcs are gone, but i was fine with it (although i few times i became confused about the lore). i didn't have any friends who plays Destiny 2 religiously so i decided to join this subreddit and ask a few things.

theres a few questions that i still confused about or didn't find an answer which is :

what do you do in this game?

what is the end goal, what keeps motivating you to log in everyday?

i also noticed that buying the deluxe edition gave me the season pass aswell, but now iam faced with the fear of missing out on the stuff in the season pass if i didnt fully level up until 100. Will i be able to get the stuff in the future after the season ended?

can i play Destiny 2 without ever participating in the crucible?

( i dislike PVP thats why i play Warframe XD, Althought i don't mind Gambit)

is Destiny 2 a job, like Rust?

will in the future, bungie will remove the DLCS like they did with the free DLCS?

Should i keep blue weapons and armor?

Should i just keep equiping weapons and armor with higher power level?

How would you guys feel about a weekly reset that separates the Trials player pool upon going Flawless?

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 06:55 PM PDT

I've played other games that have this feature and it works wonders to separate high skill players from low skill players after a short duration.

To explain further it goes something like this:

Everyone who has not gone Flawless for the week is match made into matches with other players that have not gone flawless for the week.

After a player has gone flawless their matchmaking prioritizes other players who have also gone flawless this week.

As the week progresses the players who have not gone flawless should in theory have an easier time because all the trials farmers are progressively getting filtered into the more challenging Flawless matchmaking.

I understand queue times would more than likely be an issue here, but I feel like crossplay should alleviate that a bit when it drops. Having increased reward drops to incentivize the much harder Flawless matchmaking could be interesting for more competitive players who tend to participate in multiple flawless runs per week as well.

    Can we talk about matchmaking?

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 08:33 AM PDT

For the entire season, it's been this complete seesaw where you either steamroll the other team or you get steamrolled. There is no in between, at least there hasnt been for me. It's like juggling from mercy to mercy, from the giving to the recieving part and honestly, this takes the fun out completely.

Have you guys had this experience as well?

How do I get better at pvp

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 06:44 PM PDT

I hate pvp because I'm horrible at it I have a .7 KD and every time I get on it I never do good and always lose. Every time I go into trials I get 2 wins because the matchmaking is so bad it luckily puts me against even worse players, then I can't get a win for the next 4 possible losses and I have to reset again. I have around 200-300 hours in total of my 1k hours playing in pvp and I still am horrible. Is there literally any way for me to not be dog ass at pvp?
