Ok Bungie. Enough is enough. Time to put shaders in alphabetical order.

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 10:46 AM PDT

It seriously takes sooo long scrolling through page after page to find the one im looking for. Sometimes it takes multiple times because the shaders just start blending in after a while. This would be a small qol change I'd appreciate. Besides, what kind of monster doesn't like to keep things in alphabetical order?

Edit: So skimming through some comments, it seems like some like alphabetical order, some like how it is now, others mentioned a search option or saving favorites (which would be nice as well). So I think just having all these options would be great so you can just sort how you like.

    To the Sweet Business Teams

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 11:09 AM PDT

Ran into a full stack of Sweet Business users in control yesterday. My fireteam and the randoms on my team all got absolutely smoked and mercy ruled. It was unending hellfire down the map lanes and it had me absolutely rolling with laughter and resulted in my squad all pulling Sweet Business out for the next few matches. It was a ball watching other players start to pull theirs out and jump on the bandwagon. Unending streams of bullets the whole matches.

10/10 did laugh and have fun.

[Edit] Well damn, glad so many of you have fun stories to share. Lot of them got a genuine chuckle out of me while scrolling through. Loving all the shenanigans!

As a Fusion Rifle main, I can't wait to see what Bungie has in store for us with the upcoming Fusion Rifle reworks.

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 09:05 AM PDT

Fusion Rifles: We've been wanting to tackle subfamily differentiation for a while, so we're planning on a large rework of Fusion Rifles, changes to Fusion Rifle perks/mods, and custom tuning to most Exotic Fusion Rifles (is Vex Mythoclast a fusion rifle? Let's say yes).

    From this TWAB

Fusion Rifles have been, for the most part, identical to one another. The best-performing archetypes in the current sandbox are Precision and High-Impact frames (I.E. Plug One.1 and Glaciocasm).

All but one archetype a have a pretty much identical functionality and play the same with the exception of how they are timed. Hopefully the rework gives us a reason to use Adaptives and Rapid-Fires and makes them all play very differently to give us some flavor in this oddly unique but under-utilized weapon type.

Coreolis Force was an interesting addition. I would like to see this kind of differentiation with the rework.

Also kinda hyped to see what the Mythoclast rework has to offer.

Inspired by u/blastbomba's recent post, I took it upon myself to draft up some very professional and realistic concept art for a drop-pod themed ornament for Falling star.

    Standalone caracter model.

Fireteam of drop-pod titans en route to wreck some cabal carriers.

    Drop-pod's in your court, Bungie.

I've LFGed for over 500 activities in this game, and without a doubt GMs have consistently brought me the worst experiences, with some of the most toxic people. I'd love to know if others agree, and perhaps if we could start a dialogue about it..

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 12:39 PM PDT

About me.. not just Day-1 Raids, but flawless raids, Master VoG, going flawless in trials, exotic quests, community events, you name it.. I've LFGed with different groups for all of these things and, especially lately, the Grand Master channels in LFG discords are the saltiest and most toxic. And yes, I just said it's more toxic than LFGing for trials, and I mean that. With trials there's actually a decent LFG community, because people realize they are going to go against streamers and cheaters and because of that in general I tend to find much more understanding people. That expectation isn't the same for GMs. People watch someone solo it in 30 minutes or a team of streamers doing 15 minute speed runs, and they expect that to happen with people they've never met.. it's just not feasible for the most part.

Every day for the last few weeks I've seen moderators taking action or actively having to ban people from LFG channels or entire discords because of hatemail, sent either directly to people or being spammed in the LFG channels themselves.

I'd love to throw a bunch of blame on content creators for normalizing sub 12 minute runs, OOB pulls, and other strategies from the speed-running community.. and I'd also love to blame it on the fact that GMs have the potential to be either purely tedious or purely unfun for the majority of people who actually do them, save for the one time you get a drop you actually want which can take people anywhere from 30 minutes to multiple months. I'd love to blame all of that on outside sources, but at a certain point we have to take some responsibility for creating such a bad place.

This week specifically with the final boss being quite easy to die at, compared to many other bosses, obviously frustrations run high. We're seeing more and more people voice their frustrations, and this all culminates in a toxic manner because we aren't really spending a lot of time with each other. We load-up, check load-outs and hopefully within 20-30 minutes we're done. We likely get another adrenaline junky + bottomless pit Hung Jury and for whatever reason we decide to focus our anger like a laser beam on some other shmuck in the exact same position. It hasn't happened to me but it's certainly happened to people in my fireteam and I tired to speak up but once someone decides to be toxic, when there's no one to police that sort of behavior, you kind of have to just sit there and let them get their tantrum out, ruining everyone's experience.

I certainly don't expect people to change, but this trend started back when GMs first came into the game and it's only gotten worse. If we can't police ourselves, I hope systems are put in place to help us better navigate LFGs in regards to GMs. Perhaps we need trackers for GMs the same way we have for raids, and all of this will likely happen naturally, but a conversation about it certainly shouldn't hurt the process.

Can we get an emote wheel?

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 02:27 PM PDT

Not sure if there's a technical reason for not having an emote wheel yet, but there are so many wonderful emotes that being limited to 4 at a time feels really shitty.

Always sucks when someone emotes to you, and you're like 'oooh I have the perfect emote to respond to that.. oh hang on let me try each arrow key because I can't remember which is which.. oh hang on it isn't equipped right now. Give me 30 seconds to go into my inventory so I can find and equip it!'...

    Bungie plz :)

Sunshot appreciation and exotics that feel exotic

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 09:35 AM PDT

Most of you have probably seen the Titan build that uses sunshot, energy accelerant, and the exotic boots that provide bonus solar damage. I'm a warlock main so although I don't have the boots I wanted to give it a try.

Let me tell you, this is what an exotic should feel like. Combining sunshot, energy accelerant, and warmind cells (specifically wrath of rasputin and global reach) is an insane combo. It can be somewhat hard finding an encounter with enough enemy density to make this work but both Alter of sorrows and VOG are great options.

So, how powerful is it? Well I wanted to test it out so I hoped into a fresh VOG. Opening the vault was okay but there aren't a lot of enemy's here besides the Minotaurs. Conflux turned out to be the perfect encounter for sunshot. Wave after wave with low health mobs with the occasional wyvern or Minotaur. Sunshot turned out to be great for when the Templar summoned legions. With a single precision shot on a goblin, you are able to clear all of the adds that spawn on the bottom portion with the cleanse fountain. Because of the way sunshot works and the way the enemies spawn, killing a single goblin triggers a massive chain of explosives. This chain of explosives consists of solar splash damage which can spawn a warmind cell. The nice thing about sunshot is that the explosions from sunshot are able to trigger the warmind cell. So with one bullet, you can trigger a massive chain reaction of explosions that kills all of the adds that spawn in the bottom. There is a Minotaur that spawns there which will survive but every other mob is instantly vaporized.

This brings me to the question of what other exotics truly feel exotic and powerful like this? I know sunshot feels this good because of the synergy between sunshot, energy accelerant, and warmind cells, but are there any other exotics that can feel this powerful? Is it even worth to use an exotic if it only feels powerful because of the mods you equip? If anyone has suggestions for other fun fun and mod combos, please let me know!

TLDR: sunshot feels great in VOG when paired with energy accelerant and warmind cells. What other exotics feel powerful and exotic?

Can we please get a favorites for the shaders?

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 03:02 PM PDT

Now that the shaders don't cost glimmer can we please enable them for the API?

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 10:11 AM PDT

It would be a huge step to have the shaders and even ornaments available by the API to allow third-party software to change them.

Bungie already officially endorses third-party sites for inventory management like Destiny Item Manager.

People want to create Style Loadouts and have been asking for Loadouts to be added to the game.

I know this is a lot of work for Bungie to add ingame but the best way would probably be to allow shaders and ornaments for the API so they could be incorporated by Destiny Item Manager into their Loadout System.

    Title.

It's a godroll. High recovery(28) and high intellect(25). You should always go for high-max recovery for all classes. And high intellect is good for chaos reach and welllock builds.

I recommend buying three and changing the elemental affinity to having one of each. This way you can have different element resists and mods.

I wish grenade consumption was a thing in all warlock trees.

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 06:51 AM PDT

I think the coolest thing about voidwalker and top and middle tree dawnblade is the ability to consume your grenade for a special ability intrinsic to the tree. It makes me sad that stormcaller doesn't get anything like that outside of the escape artist exotic gloves. See this post as some sort of coping or wishful brainstorming thread.

Looking at steam charts, A LOT of players come back for raids/dungeons/end game.

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 07:36 AM PDT

Obviously, the biggest times for destiny was shadowkeep and beyond light. Arrivals was a high point after warmind was the low point, but chosen didn't bring back a crowd at all compared to splicer. It would be cool if there was data like this for playstation and xbox too.

How Bungie Could Fix The World Loot Pool

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 03:40 PM PDT

Ever Since Season of Arrivals, the world loot pool has been a mess. With the introduction of sunsetting, Bungie was forced to scrap playlist specific loot. We have crucible weapons, reckoning weapons, and old Titan weapons all in the same loot pool.

In Beyond Light, Bungie added 1 weapon to each of the core playlists as a post game rewards exclusive reward, and has since added 3 more. However, I don't think this is good enough. Next season, S15, they will be reworking the vendors to all by similar to drifter and Shaxx currently. The issue with these two vendors is that their engrams are literally just legendary engrams and can drop whatever they want. So, it's time to bring back playlist specific engrams.

I've created a system that I think would be cool. I went through the entire current legendary loot pool as well as https://destinysets.com/ and my collections to find where weapons should belong.

If you want to take a look at the visual representation of all this as you read along, here's an infographic I spent far too long on...

As a preface, I believe this system will allow Bungie to continuously refresh the world loot by adding new weapons, reprising old weapons, and cycling out old weapons. Hope you enjoy :)

Let's start with Crucible. We currently have 4 crucible weapons and that's a good start. But there are 5 other weapons that were originally crucible, and therefore are already covered in crucible decale, that we can move back into this loot pool: Retrofuturist, Nature of the Beast, Wishbringer, and Steel Sybil. Bringing these weapons back brings the pool to 9. I've decided upon 4 weapons to re-issue from previous seasons that would help diversify the loot pool:

    - Martyr's Make - S1 Arc 600/Adaptive Auto

    - Does Not Compute - S1/S5 Kinetic 150/High Impact Scout

    - Critical Sass - S1 Arc Rapid Fire Fusion

    - Hard Truths - S4 Kinetic 750rpm/Aggressive SMG

And then to get the total weapons to a target goal of 15, Bungie can add 2 new weapons to the playlist like they did in S13.

Now, before moving to to Vanguard you might be concerned that this loot pool is too bloated. Well, I got a little creative here. Currently there is a crucible prime engram every few ranks in the vendor screen. What if that engram allowed you to choose between the 15 weapons and 5 armor pieces (assuming you had collected them before). This way, players could grind and then open their engrams but also choose their loot every few games. And remember, as long as they add new weapons, Bungie can cycle out the old ones to keep the loot pool a fair size! This probably isn't a perfect system but let me know.

Okay, moving on to Vanguard. In addition to the current 4 weapons in the playlist we have 5 others : Long Shadow, The Last Dance, Main Ingredient (although I don't *think* this one currently drops), Toil and Trouble, Eternal Blazon, and Outrageous Fortune. The 3 weapons I've chosen to reprise are:

    - The Showrunner - S1 Kinetic 900rpm/Lightweight SMG

    - Nightshade - S1/S5 Kinetic 390rpm/Lightweight Pulse

    - Living Memory - S2 Kinetic 140/Adaptive Hand Cannon

Finally, we move over to Gambit. With gambit, there are fewer weapons to chose from since it didn't exist in Y1, but that's alright. In addition to the 4 current weapons, we have Bad Omens and then the 3 Gambit Prime weapons, Night Watch, Gnawing Hunger, and Lonesome. This brings our total to 8. We can reissue 4 weapons from the old gambit loot pool, and one from gambit prime to reach 13:

    - Parcel Of Stardust - S4 Kinetic Lightweight Shotgun

    - Trust - S4 Solar 180rpm/Precision Frame Hand Cannon

    - Dreaded Venture - S4 Kinetic 72rpm/Agressive Frame Sniper

    - Bygones - S4 Kinetic 390rpm/Adaptive Frame Pulse Rifle

    - Just In Case - S6 Solar Sword

So that solves the issue of the Playlist loot, but what the heck do we do about the legendary engram and world loot pool? Well, good thing we have umbral engrams, a great start!

The idea of a legendary loot pool was added in Y2 with weapons such as Go Figure, Duke Mk.44, and Edge Transit (that's why you got so many of those). But this pool was expeanded on in Y3 with the addition of Faction Weapons to the world loot pool, which was a great idea. It was then expanded upon with the addition of old season weapons and reprised planetary weapons to the legendary loot pool. Currently the only weapon left from the original S4 legendary loot pool is Arsenic Bite, so it could use some love. I've divided the remaining weapons into 4 groups: Faction Weapons, Defacto Planetary Weapons, Classic World Drop Weapons/OG Gunsmith Weapons, and Past Seasonal Weapons.

Your standard legendary engrams, prime engrams, Rahool engrams, and Gunsmith engrams have a chance to drop any of these categories.

In order to farm for these weapons, the umbral system will be used. Categories such as "New Monarchy", "Season of the Worthy", and "EDZ" could be used.

Now, in the case Bungie chooses the remove the Umbral system with Y5, fear not! My contingency solution is to have legendary engrams no longer auto-decrypt and instead can be focused by Banshee for legendary shards and gunsmith materials so you can still farm for specific weapons from the world loot pool. You could also buy legendary engrams from Rahool. And, if you don't want to focus your engrams or your inventory is getting full, the solution would be to just decrypt them from your inventory directly--no need to go to Rahool.

I've added a few other reprised weapons to the world loot pool if you're interested, take a look at the visual display of my system I linked earlier. You might notice I added the Prophecy weapons to the world loot pool here, since it makes perfect sense first of all, and second, because I still believe prophecy should get a refresh with Trials of the Nine Weapons and S2/S3 ornaments :) [Also I will give a cookie to whoever can find the weapon I switched from Energy to Kinetic in the infographic]

That's all for now, and while I know this is unrealistic/wishful thinking for Bungie to implement next season based on what we know, I had a blast designing this :)

We Should Be Able to Use More Than Four Emotes

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 06:55 PM PDT

Title pretty much sums it up, D2 has been around for a while now, and with tons of emotes to choose from, it can be hard to choose just four.
So I think that a radial wheel would just allow us to have more freedom when it comes to emotes.

Yep, more Light Reforged quest complaints

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 07:55 PM PDT

Like many people who play Destiny, I love it. And yet sometimes I just have to say out loud: "Why Bungie why?!"

The Light Reforged PvP quest is a perfect example. I picked up the quest last week as a veteran player just for fun, but quickly found myself wondering why Bungie wants brand new pvp players to play games of Rumble, Elimination and Survival at all. They're fun, but Control would be intense enough for new pvp players. Rumble, Elimination and Survival seems like a guaranteed way to scare off newbies forever! In addition, this quest doesn't even highlight the important differences between the modes - namely that some are competitive and some are not and some have SBMM and some do not.

I kinda think the better way to redesign the quest would be to split it into:

    • a "beginner" quest which basically just teaches you how to play Control (or whatever 6v6 casual pvp mode people can learn on);
    • an "advanced beginner" quest which introduces you to the other valor modes;
    • a "not so new anymore" quest which introduces you to competitive, and maybe;
    • a "you've come a long way baby" quest which introduces you to trials.

The idea of this is ease the player into it so they learn a mode and get some games under their belt before moving onto the next , rather than throwing them into six different modes in an hour and expecting any of it to stick.
