That's it, the Promethium Spur exotic is the final strike against Warlocks

FRICKEN' TOE BOOTS?! ARE YOU FOR REAL?! I'm supposed to be a god amongst gods! The zenith of my kind! Unstoppable and unwaivering and I'm supposed to do it looking like I just got back from a jog to Whole Foods?!

First it was the space slippers, now it's cosmic toe boots. What next? Celestial Croc exotics? Fashion is dead. We may as well let the Darkness just win. At least they know how to accent properly with their color palette, ugh.

o ye, the perk is pretty cool tho i guess i like that.

It’d be sweet if old raids rotated weekly to be featured and reward pinnacle gear

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 09:59 AM PST

The raids are so awesome and pretty much my favorite part of Destiny. However, none of the earlier raids have any real incentive to play right now. Especially for New Light players.

It's be sweet if they implemented a rotating featured raid on a weekly basis and have it drop pinnacle gear for that week it's featured.

Especially if Y1 weapons are getting random rolls - Id love some Leviathan raid weapon random rolls and pinnacle levels!

Thank you Bungie for making the questline account-based.

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 07:56 AM PST

I wasn't looking forward to attuning the obelisks again when I switched to my Warlock from my Titan but then got a little confused when I didn't have the quest to find Osiris. My buddy then informed me you only had to do it once for it to count for all 3 characters. Thank you.

Bungie Plz Addition: Add Older Raids to a Weekly Rotation and add Pinnacle Gear as a reward

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 07:40 PM PST

    Hello Guardians,

This change has been added to Bungie Plz.
Going forward, all posts suggesting this change will be removed and redirected to this Megathread.

    Modmail Discussion:

/u/ThatDudeWithStories: "Why it should be added: While this is a fantastic idea and great way bring new life to older content it is becoming a bit tiresome to see a new post about it everyday on the sub. Raids are great fun and I'm sure Bungie has this idea on their radar. The three links I provided are all within the last two weeks and all got decent traction and visibility. If it's going to happen great, great, if not, I'm sure Bungie has people working on great new raids and new content coming up. I personally hope to see this idea come to fruition but until then let's let Bungie do what they do best. It's their job."

/u/Clarkey7163: "That fits the criteria, will write it up now :D"

    Examples given: 1, 2, 3

    Criteria Used:

"...3 examples (with links) of recent submissions (with at least 1 being over 5 days old), that have been well received (hundreds of upvotes on the front page of the sub - ex. 300+ upvotes)."

Bungo Plz: let world chests count towards picking up planetary mats

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 08:57 AM PST

Any time I'm forced to hunt for planet Mats I will always find atleast 3 chests before I find 1 planetary material. And I often get planetary mats in the chest anyway so why they dont count towards progression I dont understand.

It's a small quality of life detail that woul make the game just slightly less annoying.

Edit: First post ever with 1k upvotes. Good to know people been thinking the same thing. Edit1/2: 3K UPVOWTS WAAAAT?

Edit2: Good Golly Gosh my first Gold!!! Thank you fellow guardian! I am forever humbled.

I know things aren't perfect, but can we take a moment and acknowledge that Bungie is trying?

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 07:44 AM PST

Final edit: Since I can't edit the title, I want to clarify that by "trying" I don't mean "they're trying to dev the game;" I agree that that's the bare minimum. I meant that it feels like they're trying to incorporate more and more of our criticisms into fixes in-game, and that's what I wanted to point out.

Edit 2: It seems like a LOT of the anger (maybe most) is about the state of Eververse. I think that's a good thing, because I think Eververse still has a lot of issues, and I think it's a worthy thing to concentrate criticism around.

Edit: Thank you for the awards, although I barely understand what they do!

And to be clear, I welcome criticism here, and think that we should give Bungie ours; I just personally wanted to point out what I think the wins are.

There's a lot of chatter on the sub about Season of Dawn, about the typical Eververse controversies, etc., but I wanted to take a second and highlight some positive changes we've gotten recently, so that we can acknowledge that Bungie is actually trying to work with us (many can be found on the 12/5 TWAB https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/48534 ):

    1. Random Y1 rolls (everyone has been asking for these)
    2. EP chest doesn't require key anymore
    3. Weapon mods have significantly reduced glimmer cost
    4. Gunsmith bounty (Field Calibration) doesn't require playing any one specific activity (e.g. you can skip Crucible if you want, which, let's be honest, 50% of the PvE playerbase probably does)
    5. Similarly, Catalyst quests now progress even without using the weapon (Eriana's Vow and Symmetry, I think; I don't have the latter's quest yet) - Another big criticism from last season that's been improved
    6. More dungeons (meaning since Whisper and Shattered Throne debuted; nothing is announced for this season, to be clear)
    7. Lower-level NF Ordeals have matchmaking
    8. Beginning-of-season notification of which Eververse items will only be available for Silver (another specific community request)
    9. More in-game notifications in general (things beginning, ending, etc.)
    10. An entire season of cool Saint-14 shit (seriously, the seasonal armor, the FINISHER, etc....so dope)
    11. Horde activity more varied than Vex Offensive (another big criticism last season)
    12. Expanded variety of Seals (addition of seasonal seals has given players a different type of title grind while still keeping titles relevant and not "common")
    13. Sparrows on Mercury
    14. Raid exotic drop rates increased (1kV, now Anarchy), raid exotics being released as a guaranteed drop under correct conditions (Divinity)
    15. Crucible pinnacles/rituals more accessible to general playerbase (changes to quests and changes to Glory rankings/matchmaking). I know this one is somewhat controversial, but for the people screaming about gating top-tier PvE guns like Recluse behind PvP, this was a big deal.
    16. Changes to infusion/the enhancement core controversy

There are a bunch more I'm not thinking of currently, but as soon as I jump back into the game, they'll be right in my face. The point isn't to say "GUYS EVERYTHING IS GREAT STOP BEING MAD AT BUNGIE," because I do think that we should make our voices heard when we don't like things. But I also think we should acknowledge the fact that Bungie is making a clear effort to make changes we've asked for. Let's keep making our voices heard, but let's also let them know we see what they're doing.

I just want to say that the Season of Dawn is immediately impressive and a huge improvement over Undying.

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 06:58 AM PST

There's obviously a lot to talk about right now, including some important reports of problems and valid criticisms, but I would like to take a moment to say that I'm really impressed by how much is going on with this season's central activity and systems compared to Undying.

The Sundial itself is fun and challenging, a good variation on the Menagerie's objective-based tempo.

The Obelisks are much more complex than I had expected; I thought they would be like Vex Invasions, a basic mini-Sundial encounter on various worlds, but in fact they offer real depth and investment.

The Dawn mods purchasable from the Obelisks seem very interesting, and I'm sure we'll see some crazy builds using the Charged with Light system—and that's on top of what the artifact offers.

Plus there are actual questlines and an unfolding story for the player to push forward! Watching Ikora build her portal may have been an example of an "evolving world," but it happened entirely without the player's involvement; this is much better.

Also, I didn't stop to say this during the last season, but the Champions added with Shadowkeep are terrific, especially in Nightfalls: The Ordeal. It's very satisfying to incorporate anti-Champion properties in your fireteam loadout, stagger or disrupt them, and burst them down. After running a few Ordeals and then switching to a legacy Nightfall or a normal strike, you deeply feel their absence. Great addition.

So, while there are certainly areas where Destiny continues to need improvement, I want to say: Good job, Bungie, and thanks. Looking forward to sinking my teeth deeper into all of this and seeing what the rest of this season has to offer.

    Edit:

You know, a lot of people are understandably remarking that it's impossible to make a determination like this after one day, so I'd like to embellish a bit. While we can't know how good the forthcoming items on the calendar are at this point, I say that Dawn is already stronger than Undying for 4 reasons:

    1. The central 6-player PvE activity is more nuanced and mechanically interesting than the Vex Offensive. Like the Menagerie, the Sundial pressures teams to complete a progress bar within a time limit, which makes it less brainless than VO because players have to make an effort to stay on task; you can't just mindlessly shoot enemies while assuming your teammates will move things along. I say it seems more challenging because I see a lot of deaths, especially from the boss centurion in the white shield who controls the arena with their arc blaster; I had a matchmade team that just barely made it to the checkpoint on the progress bar with seconds to spare, so that's tension that didn't exist in VO. The purple stasis bubbles and psion councilors give players more to do during the boss fight than there was in VO, too. Again, we can't talk about the Sundial in full without seeing how other bosses and the legendary version of the activity change it, but even if what the Sundial offers right now were all we could expect from it, I would still say that it's better than Vex Offensive. Sadly, that's mostly a commentary on how disappointing VO was, though.
    2. The anchor for that central activity this season is the Obelisk system, whereas last season it was really just Ikora's bounties and weapon frames. There's no contest here whatsoever. Bounties are just... bounties. The Obelisks provide multiple paths for investment and multiple forms of rewards and pursuits. The player's engagement with them is continuous (since there is incentive to keep upgrading all of them, which includes making decisions about which Obelisks to prioritize) and mindful (since we need to consider which ones are linked both for the active location-specific bonuses and for the Sundial rewards). I was so surprised by this system! I think that the Obelisks, rather than the more-hyped Sundial activity, are the true foundation for this season and will be the source of its longevity for players.
    3. The Dawn mods using the new "Charged with Light" system are novel and don't even have a point of comparison with last season. We still have the seasonal artifact, but these are a different type of mod and come from a different source. They offer unique build considerations that compete for armor points with the expected artifact mods, which leads to interesting choices, and it's ambitious that Bungie has created an independent system of resource creation and consumption through them. I've only just begun to look at these, but, again, Undying offered nothing that we can compare to this at all.
    4. I don't know what kind of "evolving world" stuff is planned for this season, but I can tell you right now that passively watching Ikora build her portal, while exciting in its way (until the disappointing anticlimax that was the Undying Mind), was not as fulfilling as actively advancing the Saint-14 story by completing traditional quests is, simply because the player is directly involved in the latter. Perhaps if Ikora's portal construction had been framed as a community quest to gather Vex components or hinged upon the completion of weekly quest tasks it would have been more engaging, but then planning for its assumedly steady progression would have been more problematic. In any case, it's important that the player feels they are having a direct, causal effect. That's here in Dawn but was not in Undying.

So that's why I feel confident in saying that just one day of Season of Dawn is a substantial improvement over Undying. Thanks for reading all this!

Tarrabah has the potential to be a great gun but is severely held back by its usability. Symmetry showed us exactly how to fix this. Let's bring this to bungies attention and make the gun useable, let's not have another sunshot situation on our hands

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 03:42 PM PST

Tarrabah is a raid exotic and with its perk active, has the power to live up to the name. The only problem it has is in its extremely clunky charging mechanic, rendering one of the potentially most powerful primary exotic weapons completely useless. Symmetry uses a similar charging mechanic but this time, Bungie has really nailed the fluidity. They've essentially shown us how a charge mechanic should be. Two simple things we can take from symmetry to vastly improve Tarrabahs useability - allow it to maintain - or slowly decay its charge on weapon swap, 2) Let us proc the perk by holding R and not having the gun physically reload. I'd really love to use Tarrabah and now we have an example of how fluid the charging mechanic can be, lets please bring this to bungies attention so the gun can become useable

Bungie please make the 4th armor slot universal for all seasons.

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 08:52 AM PST

Title. It really is disheartening when my time and resources for masterworking a piece of armor is irrelevant by next season cause I can't use the new seasonal mods unless I re-farm for my gear from this season. I understand that having us grind for new armor is what keeps players coming back, but it should only be because we want the armor for the way it looks, not the way it performs. And yes, last season mods are still "usable", I'm just saying I want to enjoy the new mods as well without having to spend another bunch of my time and resources to do so, especially if you're somebody who occasionally works 6 days a week. Please Bungie, thanks :)

Edit1: Oooh man my first Gold and Silver, thank you awesome kind strangers :D

Bungie Plz: Exotics need mod slots - Armor exotics need a universal mod slot

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 02:58 PM PST

With the outrage of Masterworking armor in Undying, which now cannot be used for Dawn slots... why don't exotics just have a universal mod slot so we can equip whatever mod we want (undying, dawn, fallen, taken, etc.)?!?

Without a Collections 2.0, the new armor system has rapidly become unsustainable.

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 06:16 AM PST

Although the recent efforts to embrace RPG complexity are impressive, the game's foundations are straining to contain it. The armor 2.0 system provides compounding layers of unique properties—stat distributions, elemental affinities, seasonal mod slots, and ornament slots—and, in a very short amount of time, it's become clear that it is unsustainable without an update to the Collection system.

I'll unpack this a little to illustrate what I mean.

It's pretty well-trodden territory at this point to say that players are compelled to farm for and keep multiple pieces of armor in each slot that provide options for stat distributions (for various builds suited to different sub/classes in assorted activities; for example, a high-strength PvE Warlock using Sunbracers or a high-resilience build exclusively for the Crucible) and elemental affinities (for the different sets of mods that are allowed with each element). That alone requires a substantial amount of storage space.

On top of that, the seasonal/activity mod slot has created a serious problem by incentivizing players both to put together new armor sets compatible with current seasonal mods and to keep old armor for relevant activities. I'm not suggesting that we should want to dispose of armor sets as soon as the season rolls over since that would be a bad experience in its own right, but as things stand we have reason to hold on to sets that offer the following slot types:

    • Outlaw Armor Mod slots (Transcendent Blessing, Taken Armaments, Taken Barrier, etc.)
    • Forge Armor Mod slots (Fallen Armaments, Fallen Barrier, etc.)
    • Opulence Armor Mod slots (Leviathan/Menagerie mods, Hive Armaments, Hive Barrier, etc.)
    • Undying Armor Mod slots (Garden of Salvation and Nightmare Hunt mods)
    • Dawn Armor Mod slots (it remains to be seen, but I suspect that the Obelisk mods using the "Charged with Light" system will be sticking around since they are purchased with mod components, which would mean that we'll want to keep our Dawn armor when the next season rolls around)

There are also four full sets of armor for Gambit Prime, each for three classes (equals 60 armor pieces), which all have the same considerations for stat distribution and elemental affinity that might motivate someone to keep duplicates for more build options. And exotic armor with different rolls is equally demanding of our space, too.

Finally, there's the fact that many armor sets allow ornaments that others do not. Only Iron Banner armor allows the player to equip ornaments from past Iron Banner seasons, for example, and the same is true for Vanguard and Crucible sets. Is this as important as the gameplay considerations above? No, but it is still a factor. And you can laugh at me, but I have a bunch of Festival of the Lost helmets in different elements because they are the only items with a slot that lets me equip masks.

The Collection system was designed to ease the pressure on our limited vault space, but it's been obsolete for more than a year since Forsaken introduced random rolls. Either the above systems need to be compressed and simplified, or the Collection system needs to be revamped—and I don't mean by Destiny 2's year 4 expansion. Something has to give soon; ideally by season 10. This is quickly becoming overwhelming and unmanageable.

If there is a psion in a bubble, punch it

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 05:12 AM PST

Just good word of advice in general, anywhere in Destiny. A bubble scion is a 1-hit melee kill, and almost always needs to be taken out as part of a mechanic for whatever encounter you're in.

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 09:43 AM PST

-Every single guardian has their own backstory and special talents, and very few guardians are seen as "average" to the vanguard. Osiris and Ikora Rey are revered throughout the galaxy for their light's mutation, and their ability to control its absolutely immense power. Other legends such as Rezzyl Azzir, the Iron Lords, and Marcus Ren make their name through immense physical and mental training.

-Guardians' tendencies to play and dance in the face of danger was not always present. When the first guardians rose, many assumed that resurrection was a temporary blessing, and this gave rise to worshiping the traveler, and the importance of the speaker. However: after the hunter Nora challenged a new exo-hunter to "grow a bag of bolts," he threw himself off the highest part of the walls construction with a blank face, leading many to believe there is no limit to resurrection, even if the light-bearer dies on his own accord.

-There are backstories to every stereotype within the class-structure of the tower. A titan by the name of Xerous was always known for "using his hands way too often, even when it was the worst possible idea." He always responded with: "If your weapons make you a warrior, then I am a god." He later went into the crucible and the Iron banner unarmed, to the praise of both Lord Shaxx and Saladin. He came out on top, and sent his visual feeds back to the tower, where citizens marveled at his performance. Nobody questioned him again.

-Marcus Ren and Cayde-6 are largely to blame for hunters being the "serious or satirical" type. Marcus Ren has always scoffed Cayde for "cracking a joke, and using it to boost his mediocrity" despite them being good drinking buddies when Marcus was available every blue moon. The serious and unrivaled skill that hunters are sometimes seen as comes from Marcus Ren training himself to unheard levels of weapon mastery: being known to dual-wield weapons with perfect accuracy, and never letting anything distract him during his missions. This is why Cayde was always afraid that Marcus would put him in the ground to take his spot in the vanguard.

-Warlocks have only one person to blame for their bookworm status. A warlock named Sarah had entered the crucible reading a book waiting for transmat, the only problem was, she read the book for the entire match, and the opposing guardians began to dance behind her, to Shaxx's amusement, and after the entire enemy team lined up 6 snipers to her head, one of them poked her with the barrel. She quickly turned around and ran away; the ensuing explosion of bullets causing Shaxx and Zavala who had wandered near to laugh their sides off, Shaxx slamming his monitor in joy, screaming over the comms. From then on, he always said "warlocks are better with books than a rifle" Ikora had no comment on the feed. Cayde was reported to have shaken the hands of every guardian who had participated in the ordeal.

-The purple ball in the tower is the result of a failed experiment. The drifter had created a miniature black hole using an anti-matter engram, and had covered it with a hive sealing spell powered by his void light, hoping to create an infinite void-reactor core. The result was an indestructible floating ball, to the drifter's dismay.

-If a guardian goes full rogue, as some have, only in extreme circumstances will its ghost "de-tatch" itself from its guardian. This has happened only twice before, and 1 of the ghosts, nicknamed "Manta," has long since self-terminated. Detached ghosts are nigh-useless, as ghosts cannot choose another guardian, even after their first guardian has been abandoned. There is only one detached ghost known alive: "Clover." He resides in the gardens of the tower, and commonly goes to pubs and meetings to tell his stories and even do what he calls "float-up" comedy, and he will gladly tell you the story of his guardian when asked. He also loves the smell of Hot cocoa.

-Many guardians have questioned as to calling their abilities "classes" to which the most common response is the speakers words: "Every aspect of life is a lesson, for what we will learn determines how we will do, and how we will do will determine the end result" Shaxx aruges: "you were taught them after being taught how to be a hunter, titan, or warlock right? So they are a subclass."

-Most newly risen guardians often inquire about where and how their magazines are always filled, even if they are reloaded after expending only one cartridge. The ghost is small, but capable of transmatting objects 500x its size in nearly a minute, and smaller objects nearly instantly. Sundance was once asked by a new hunter about this and she responded: "Ghosts will transmat ammunition from a ship's reserve directly into a magazine upon changing mags. This way a guardian only has to carry two magazines per weapon, and every ammo-pickup is usually metal or polymers, which your ship's on-board fabricators can directly forge bullets and cartridges. We may be small, but we do a lot more than you think...also Cayde only reloads manually because he thinks he's a badass. " Cayde overheard her, stating that: "If you can't fight without your ghost, you're dead meat. That's why I always reload myself, also it is way cooler."

-Just this solstice, during a vanguard gift giving, Lord Shaxx presented Ikora with a gift: her Invective shotgun tied with a bow reading: "Just one match." Ikora was so ecstatic that she blinked nearly a mile into the sky above, free falling while screaming with joy. Shaxx gathered 24 guardians that night, all of high prestige, and told them they would be facing one opponent at twilight gap and that: "I do not expect any of you to succeed, but I need you to fight like you never have!" The moment the match began, Ikora had decimated the entire team in one fell swoop, only getting two shots in her shoulder. Zavala briefly peeked at the monitor, hearing endless screams and laughter as Shaxx stood, nodding his head and chuckling to himself. The final score was 387-0. Ikora was giggling for the rest of the night, watching the recording. She gave shaxx the one and only invective back to him, to which he refused: "You've earned it, the mightiest warlock in the galaxy."

Pyramid Ship Easter Egg on Io

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 09:27 PM PST

Hey everyone first time posting. Now this could be something originating from D2 Vanilla (probably is). On Io inside of Excavation Site 2 there's a scannable taken portal, and what lurks inside is also definitely a Pyramid Ship. This could very well be a Shadowkeep tease, but the image in question is difficult to make out.

    Link

Probably old but still an intriguing find nonetheless.

Symmetry is an excellently designed Exotic, well done Bungie

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 10:12 AM PST

Symmetry might be my favorite exotic design yet in Destiny 2. It truly feels exotic, it feels like almost playing a mini-game with the gun. Most of the exotics in the game are "Do more damage", "Do Damage Faster", or "Take less damage" in some variation on that. Symmetry actually feels exotic and unique and feels like a bomb weapon to use (Don't think it's going to replace my Izanagi's for exotic damage, but ... well ... that's another post). I loved picking off stragglers, swapping to my awesome homing missiles and blowing up a pack of newly spawned enemies.

Well done Bungie, this might be my favorite exotic yet.

    I love Shaxx.

I just finished a rumble game, and he said "Good, you got second. Just as Zavala is second to me."

I am literally shaking with laughter, that is the best line I have ever heard.

New Warlock Figure is Literally Unbuyable

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 08:05 AM PST

Bungo put up a new 1:6 Threezero figure of a warlock wearing nezarec's sin, and it looks gorgeous! https://bungiestore.com/collections/whats-new/products/preorder-threezero-destiny-2-warlock-mercury-vex-chrome-shader-1-6-scale-collectible-figure

But then, on further inspection we see that it includes:

    Sub-class Weapon - Dawnblade

    Exotic Trace Rifle - Coldheart

Legendary Auto Rifle - Positive Outlook

Bungie Store Exclusive Weapon - Exotic Auto Rifle - Hard Light

So this warlock is running Dawnblade, as we can see. Now, as we all know, Nezarec's sin works regardless of subclass, you just need to be doing void damage. But here's the thing, he's running three energy weapons. Which is impossible but putting that aside, he only has 1 void weapon and its his Positive Outlook auto rifle.

But youre saying "Hey, Reclusivhearts9, he has Hardlight hes okay."

Look closer. His hardlight is in Solar mode. I think this warlock has been eating too many of zavala's crayons.

    literally unbuyable

Bungie, if you want people to say "I was there when..." we need meaningful mementos to commemorate accomplishments

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 12:03 PM PST

Yes, this is yet another angle on the whole "Cool stuff is locked behind Eververse" argument, but I was just thinking that it entirely goes against Bungie's goal of the whole "bragging rights" thing, and being able to have community conversation and say "I was there when..." if the rewards for "being there" are objectively lesser.

Remember posting up in the Tower in D1 with a complete set of dazzling Raid armor, a badass ship, and either the Chatterwhite, Glowhoo, or Queensweb Shader? Our gear spoke to our accomplishments.

Remember completing the 980 Nightfall in D2 (arguably some of the hardest content in the game) and getting a... reskinned legendary ship? But hey, there are a STAGGERING amount of sweet ships, ornaments, and other cosmetics coming to Eververse last Season, this Season, and not to mention Festival of the Lost and The Dawning. Maybe you can buy one of those to remember that time you beat the hard thing in the game... /s

I completely understand that Bungie needs to sell premium cosmetics, and back when these premium cosmetics were more exclusive or singular (and/or we had realistic means towards earning many of them in-game) I was more than happy to open my wallet and get them. But now that there are literally hundreds of dollars worth of cosmetics coming around every Season, with pithy amounts of Bright Dust being offered, it's such an overwhelming storefront that I don't even want to buy a single thing. I don't want to commemorate the Season by forking over $45 for the seasonal armor ornaments.

Bungie, if you want players to be able to say "I was there when..." give them means to earning awesome things that commemorate those things. The more empowered and commemorated players feel, the more likely they'll be to want to throw some money into the in-game shop for the extras.

The Lore from the Garden of Salvation as One Cohesive Narrative: The Story of the Kentarch 3

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 01:59 PM PST

    Before You Read

Updated GoS Armor Lore Tabs: We finally have a better picture of what happened to the Kentarch 3 Fireteam — Yardarm-4, Rekkana, and Lisbon-13 — after venturing into the Black Garden in search of a Vex object called "Divinity".

Important Note: In order to make this read more like a narrative, I've used [brackets] to include small details and to write-in story notes from each Armor Piece. This does not interupt or distort the actual story taking place but interweaves them since the same story is being told from 3 different perspectives. Also, I included all GoS Weapon Quotes to possibly add more depth.

TLDR of GoS Lore: The Kentarch 3 discovers "Divinity" (the actual weapon) within the Black Garden along with the Darkness that casts a veil in the Garden. The Darkness intends to commune with the Kentarch 3 and gifts all of them its power. Ultimately, the Darkness turns Lisbon against Yardarm and Rekkana resulting in a clash between friends.

    Chapter One: Divinity

    Divinity

Lisbon-13 looked back toward where they'd left Yardarm-4. Separating the team always felt wrong, but Rekkana needed uninterrupted time to confer with the Senior Sybil, and if the Vex had detected their crash landing in the Black Garden, Yardarm-4 would give them that time.

"You'll have to move quickly," the Sybil said to Rekkana. Lisbon-13 shared her secret channel; Rekkana trusted him. "The Vanguard have discovered that our order persists, as Osiris predicted."

"They'll send a fireteam after us, then."

"And after any other Cryptochrons they learn of. But your path is more dangerous than most. The Circle has foreseen many fireteams following in your footsteps. You can find the knowledge the order seeks at the Tree."

"Can? Not will?" For the first time, Rekkana sounded concerned.

"The Circle has had limited success in piercing the veil that surrounds the Black Garden, so the order offers no certainties. They say that a group of Guardians will discover secrets about the origin of the Black Garden at the Tree. The Oneiromantic Circle foresees no reason why it will not be the Kentarch 3."

    "Nor can I. But…?"

"There is another thread in the tapestry, entwined with this one. The Vex, or some fractal faction of them, worship or honor a… divinity there."

"The Black Heart? It was destroyed."

"Yes, but this is something different. An object. Something like a sacred relic. It is important to the Vex for reasons that we have not yet fathomed. The Circle has determined that it is dangerous—"

    "A Vex weapon?"

"Perhaps," the Sybil sounded annoyed at the interruption. "Rekkana, the Circle concluded that it is a danger to you."

"To me? But then, why send me on this mission?"

"When the Circle dreamed of the object, you were beside it."

"All right. We'll see what fate we will find ourselves in. Sybil…" Rekkana paused a long while. "I don't know that we'll see each other again."

"The veil around the Black Garden, the influence of the Vex—they make such matters difficult to know. I choose to believe we will meet again."

"Then I won't say goodbye," Rekkana said and closed the channel.

Rekkana stood, eyes closed, for a time. Lisbon-13 waited.

"Lisbon, when we find it," she said, opening her eyes, "you should carry it."

    "The object? This divinity?"

"I can think of no one whom I'd trust more with it than you."

    Chapter Two: Trust & Secrets

Mask of Righteousness (Rekkana) + Cowl of Righteousness (Lisbon-13)

Lisbon-13 was already walking away when she spoke.

"You don't trust her. I can see that."

He almost stumbled, but he quickened his pace to cover for it.

Rekkana saw so much. It was the thing that astonished him when they first met. She seemed to see right into him, to see all his flaws and failings, all the guilt and regret, and she didn't look away.

"I don't need to trust her. I trust you."

    "And that's enough?"

    "Always."

It was, and would be. The truth of that rested easy within him. It was the razor that cut through the chaos and ambiguity of their wild and dangerous lives. She knew what she wanted, and she wanted him by her side. It was an honor.

Rekkana took a quick half step, trying to catch up to a heart that had leapt too far ahead. But her thoughts were heavy.

Cryptochrons learn to judge and balance secrets. Everyone with sense knows ignorance isn't bliss, but few besides the Cryptochrons know how terrible the truth can be. Those warlocks who join the order must be willing to learn what most would rather not know and to remember what they would rather forget. But accepting a truth is always harder when it's one you cannot share.

She'd known it would happen before they met. She knew everything about him before he'd ever laid eyes on her. She even knew about the man Clovis Bray had to kill 13 times to keep him in check. And it didn't take a Warmind to predict how he'd react to her.

She thought that all this knowledge would serve as armor. You should care less about the characters when you know how the story ends. But then, she was a character, too. It was her story.

She lingered behind him, no doubt thinking about their mission. "Hey, slowpoke. You coming?"

    "Yes."

Rekkana quickened her pace and met him in the shadow of a cube of stone bejeweled by ruby flowers. His glance caught her as she approached and then shifted to the vista around them.

Lisbon-13 stopped to wait for her. He looked out at a landscape somehow outside space, terrible and yet still beautiful in its own way. Rekkana caught up to him.

"Strange, being through the looking glass."

    "Yes."

Rekkana could see him thinking. His bright eyes were focused on some middle distance as he turned things over in his head: their mission, what her superior had just told them, and her. His turn toward their camp was abrupt.

Her eyes were a luminous blue. It was the first thing he'd noticed, before he understood what she could see. He wondered at the mind behind them.

He wondered what she knew about their mission that she wasn't telling him. He wondered what the ramifications of the Cryptochrons learning the truth about the Black Garden might be.

But then he remembered that none of that mattered. He didn't need to ask questions if she knew the answers.

"We should get back to Yardarm before he starts shooting bugs for fun."

Chapter Three: The Sails & The Anchor

    Helm of Righteousness (Yardarm-4)

    "How about now?"

    "Still nothing."

Yardarm-4 squinted up at his Ghost. "You sure?"

"Of course I'm sure. There are no Vex within at least a mile."

    "What about—?"

"They're on their way back now. What do you think they were doing?"

Yardarm-4 rolled his eyes and kicked a stone over the cliff's edge. "Oh, come on. You've got all those sensors and you can't pick up on the signals they're sending?"

Yardarm-4's Ghost bobbed in the air, visibly acting out its waffling thoughts. "I—"

"Hey, don't worry about it. I'm not jealous."

"You're not?" His Ghost sounded shocked.

"Boy, you really don't get people do you?"

Yardarm-4 watched his Ghost shift its gaze around, trying to make up some excuse for itself.

"Hey, it's OK," he said. "I don't need you for that. I just need you to watch my back. I'll take care of the team dynamic. Rekkana might be the captain, but the good ship Kentarch needs sails if it's going to go anywhere."

    "And the sails are you?"

    "Yup. And the anchor, too."

"OK," his Ghost said, shifting its shell and trying to work through the metaphor. "What is Lisbon-13?"

    "The rudder."

    "The… rudder? I don't get it."

"The rudder is attached to the tiller. If the ship doesn't have it, the captain can't steer. The ship is adrift at sea."

"So you'd be lost without him?"

"Lost? Nah. We'd know where we were. We just couldn't be sure where we'd end up."

"Wow. That's… deep. Hey, how do you know so much about ships?"

Yardarm-4 shrugged. "Just do. Always have."

    "So… you're really not jealous?"

"Shut up. You really don't get people."

Chapter Four: A Voice from the Unknown

Gauntlets of Exaltation (Yardarm-4) + Gloves of Exaltation (Rekkana) + Grips of Exaltation (Lisbon-13)

Lisbon-13 looked around the grotto and then at his companions. Rekkana seemed tired. It had been a rough fight, but it was more than that. She'd lost confidence somehow. That wasn't normal.

Yardarm-4 looked grim. It was the face he always made when he switched from his sometimes abrasive affability to the somber disdain that meant he was taking a situation seriously. There was also that hot glimmer in his eyes that presaged that he was going to say something to provoke her.

Yardarm-4's back ached, and his feet were sore from running. But now nothing threated them in this unnatural vale. He looked over at his companions. They looked as bad as he felt. A joke wouldn't cut it, then. He needed to say something that would get their hackles up.

"You underestimated them," Yardarm-4 said. There was no venom in the words, just a simple fact plainly stated.

Lisbon-13 turned his head sharply, but Rekkana put a hand on Lisbon-13's arm before he leapt to her defense. Lisbon-13 felt Rekkana's hand and said nothing.

Good boy, Yardarm-4 thought. She keeps you on a tight leash. These ideas came to Yardarm-4 unbidden, and so he said nothing.

    "Yes," she said.

There was no point in dissembling and no shame in being wrong. The Vex were the most formidable opponent of the Oneiromantic Circle. As beings who share thoughts across time and realities, the Vex often eluded predictions, even those of the most senior members of her order. A fellow Cryptochron who'd spoken with a member of the Circle likened it to trying to count all the crystals of a snowflake melting in your hand. The very act of examination changed the result, and often the evidence disappeared before it could be taken into account.

"But it has given us perspective."

"Perspective?" What utter crap. Yardarm-4 had been tired, just playing at anger, but now it felt real. Still, Rekkana never said anything without purpose. Yardarm-4 didn't wait for an explanation. "What perspective is worth nearly dying for?"

Something passed between Rekkana and Lisbon-13.

Rekkana looked to Lisbon-13, and he understood. She had underestimated the Vex. Never in her darkest dreams had she foreseen the kind of resistance they'd encountered. It meant their quest had more meaning. There was a destiny in it that had somehow gone unaccounted for.

She did not answer [Yardarm-4], and Lisbon-13 leapt into the gap she left, as he always would. He was as reliable as ever.

"Those defenses were insane," Lisbon-13 said, thinking of the implications. That was true enough. Lisbon-13's clever mind made leaps, following her logic.

"The relays and tethers. The Angelics. The Vex really don't want us to be here. That means they consider this place a weakness."

Yardarm-4 arrived at the same conclusion. It's good to see some color back in her cheeks, observed Yardarm-4. And Lisbon-13 has his chest puffed out like some—

"Yes, it's a weakness," Yardarm-4 said, although he hadn't meant to. More words issued from his mouth [as] there was an echo in the cave. "Perhaps it's their greatest weakness."

But it was not an echo.

    Another voice said "weakness" again.

ardarm-4 shut his mouth in bewildered astonishment. The sentiments weren't wrong. It wasn't that they were things he wouldn't say. It's just… he hadn't meant to say them.

"Yes. So we must—" Rekkana began, but then Lisbon-13 raised the weapon they'd claimed and scanned the area.

Yardarm-4 jolted—a hypnic jerk. He wasn't tired anymore. He raised his own gun. "What is that?" Yardarm-4 sounded rattled. "Where's it coming from?"

Rekkana joined them in defense against the unknown, her shoulder brushing Yardarm-4 as she drew her gun. The three of them stood back to back-to-back, listening.

"I don't hear—" But then she did.

"Those with strength enough need not consider the weaknesses of others."

"You. It's coming from you. Because you're a hero."

Chapter Five: The Fading of Light

Plate of Transcendence (Yardarm-4) + Cowl of Righteousness (Lisbon-13) + Robes of Transcendence (Rekkana)

Yardarm-4 spun, looking around the grotto.

"You hear that? Who is that?" Yardarm-4 had to stop himself from shouting. Yardarm-4 sounded like he was on the verge of panic. Rekkana had never heard him like that, not even in the worst firefights, not even in their last battle, which might have been the last battle for the Kentarch 3.

"I hear it," Rekkana and Lisbon-13 said as one. All three Guardians summoned their Ghosts, almost simultaneously.

"Ghost?" Yardarm-4 was first. "What have we got?"

"Scan the area for life," Lisbon-13 ordered.

"Multiphasic scan," Rekkana barked at her Ghost.

Their Ghosts all started chattering at once, and they stepped away from one another to hear, fanning out across the grotto and widening their defensive triangle.

Yardarm-4 started walking away even as his compatriots began talking with them.

"What are you looking for?" his Ghost asked.

"Anything. Everything. I… I'm not… Scan me. Look for something, someone else."

"Wow. OK…" His Ghost didn't understand, but it did as asked. "So, uh, what exactly am I look—?"

Lisbon-13 stepped away from his compatriots to hear his own.

"Scanning. No sign of complex life besides you three. Widening the scan parameters. I got bupkis."

"Look for any kind of transmission, or a nearby audio device," Lisbon-13 ordered. "We're getting sound without a source."

"Got it," his Ghost said, but then it wobbled in the air. "Whoa. Don't got it."

"There's something weird," Rekkana's Ghost blurted, words shooting from it, rapid-fire. "I'm getting static on every wavelength. It's like there's a shadow being cast by every signal. It's nothing specific, but it's everywhere. Wait, no. There's something wrong. I—"

Rekkana's Ghost dropped like a stone. She snatched it out of the air.

    She looked behind her.

Lisbon-13 grabbed his Ghost before it could fall. Yardarm-4 watched his Ghost's scan sputter out. Then [his] Ghost fell and clattered across the ground. As Yardarm-4 picked it up, he felt his Light fading.

Lisbon-13 was holding his Ghost. Yardarm-4 was picking his up from the ground. The Light around them faded, and the gloom of the grotto closed in.

    "Yardarm, Lisbon, you OK?"

"I'm fine," [Lisbon-13] said. And he was. Something strange—something alarming—was happening, but Lisbon-13 felt no fear.

"Yeah. Sure." But Yardarm-4 did not feel OK, and he was not sure about anything. Yardarm-4's reply was distant and growing fainter, like he was facing away and moving off.

Rekkana reached for her emergency light.

"Wait." It was a whisper, but not from her friends—it came from somewhere ahead of her, deeper in the grotto. "Wait. Please. Can we just talk for a minute?"

"These forces have existed forever, but only one of them speaks to us."

As the gloom faded to black, Lisbon-13 set his shoulders. Whoever—whatever—it was had spoken. It would speak again.

Lisbon-13 stood against the dark and waited to have words.

    Chapter Six: Acceptance

Greaves of Ascendancy (Yardarm-4) + Strides of Ascendancy (Lisbon-13) + Boots of Ascendancy (Rekkana)

"These gifts were not made for us, but we were meant to have them."

    Yardarm-4 watched Lisbon-13 brood.

    He'll turn her against us.

    Never.

We've welcomed him. He accepted our gifts. Yet now he fears us. Does that seem right to you?

No. But he always was an odd one.

The thought came to Yardarm-4 with a surprising amount of warmth. Lisbon-13 was his friend.

"We didn't come here for this." Lisbon-13 was convinced.

[Rekkana thought that] Lisbon-13 was still somehow unconvinced.

"Of course not. Who could have predicted it?" Rekkana began. "But now, with all that's happened, does it matter what our mission was? This is so much more important."

Lisbon-13 wanted to believe that, but Rekkana didn't seem sure of herself. Her eyes were too bright. She was electric, excited but also scared. The razor he used to cut through the chaos wavered.

Rekkana wanted to reassure him, but this was an undreamt-of impossibility—an unwritten story. She had never before felt so unmoored, and so free.

"And awesome. Don't forget how awesome this feels," Yardarm-4 blurted. He meant to say more, to express something better and deeper than "awesome," but then Lisbon-13 jumped in.

Lisbon-13 locked eyes with Rekkana, willing her to understand, to return to her senses. "But these things—these powers we've been given—they come from the wrong side."

Rekkana looked away. "I'm not so sure." And she wasn't. She seemed to be staring at nothing, eyes unfocused. She could be certain of nothing now.

How could she not be certain? What difference did it make, what side they came from?

"You remember on Io," Yardarm-4 said, stepping forward, "we were pinned down inside that shipping container with Phalanxes closing in from all sides, and you—you bastard. You ducked out a little hole in the back and made a run for it. I thought you'd left us behind."

"Never," said Lisbon-13 with vehemence. His eyes flashed with anger, but Yardarm-4 didn't seem to notice. [Lisbon-13 was] infuriated at this irrelevant interruption.

    He means it. That's good.

"I know," Yardarm-4 continued. "The whole box was rattling with bullets, and there were explosions, and we were shooting when we could, and suddenly, through it all, I hear you screaming. It was like a banshee wail. You came screaming back on an Interceptor—the Psion still in it. You were steering it with the Psion's head!"

"I remember," said Lisbon-13 as he tried to step around Yardarm-4, but the Titan moved with him, matching his motion. Yardarm-4 held firm and tried to catch his gaze.

"And you rammed it through four Phalanxes from the side, and then, and then—you remember this, Rekkana?"

    "I can't forget."

    Good. No one should forget.

"You splashed that Interceptor across the shields of another Phalanx, and you RODE THE EXPLOSION over the top. And when you hit the ground behind them, BOOM! It was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen."

Lisbon-13 said nothing. He stopped trying to get past Yardarm-4 and simply looked at the Titan, waiting for him to get to the point. It was as if the story had shut him down.

This is it. This is the chance to turn the tide.

"That's us right now. We're doing what you did. This whole universe is like that container, and the Last City, the Vanguard, the Traveler—they're all inside that box. But we just snuck out of a hole in the back. And there's that Interceptor, and there's not even a Psion in it."

Lisbon-13 narrowed his eyes. He's thinking about it!

"But here the metaphor gets a little muddy, because instead of one Interceptor, there's an Interceptor for you, a Goliath for me, and a Thresher for Rekkana. What would that fight have looked like if we'd had all their firepower on our side?" Yardarm-4 ended, triumphant, almost breathless with admiration and love for his fireteam.

Lisbon-13 let the question hang in the air, waiting for Rekkana to say something. But she continued to stare into space.

Lisbon-13's lip curled, and Yardarm-4 felt the shift as something almost physical. In his mind's eye, he saw a captain's wheel spinning wild and free.

"Something ugly," Lisbon-13 snarled and turned away.

    Chapter Seven: Desperation

    Temptation's Mark (Yardarm-4) + Temptation's Bond (Rekkana) + Cloak of Temptation (Lisbon-13)

"He said he'd always trust me," Rekkana mumbled. Her ears were still ringing, and it felt like the ground was rushing up to hit her feet. Yardarm-4 held her upright as they ran for cover.

"Yeah, he also said he'd never leave us. Turns out you can say a lot of things."

In the shelter of an overhang, she allowed Yardarm-4 to lean her back against a wall of stone. She was surrounded by an exuberance of red blossoms. Their simple, sweet scent mixed with a complex cologne of cordite, ozone, sweat, and blood.

She closed her eyes, and when she opened them, Yardarm-4 was inches away from her face, peering into her eyes, inspecting her, weighing what reserves she had left.

    "You still with me?"

    "He hasn't."

    "What?"

    "Left us."

Yardarm-4 stepped back and scanned their surroundings.

    "No. I guess not."

"He winged those Goblins so they'd rush us."

"Yes. He was flushing us out."

"It worked." Rekkana pushed herself free of the flowers and Yardarm-4. She began an inventory of her ammo.

"He doesn't have eyes on us now, or he'd take a shot."

Rekkana wanted to argue against this logic, but she said nothing.

"He knows we're making our way to the gate. So what does he do, Rekkana? Does he get ahead of us to block us, or hit us from behind when we're not looking?"

Rekkana thought about the two men, the Lisbon-13 she knew and the one he still carried within him, somewhere behind those gleaming eyes.

"Rekkana? We could really use that brain of yours right now."

    "This isn't it."

    "What?"

"This isn't how the story is supposed to end," Rekkana said, seeming dazed.

"You know how this will end."

"Knowing how it ends isn't the same as wanting it to be over."

"It's not over yet. We'll win this." Rekkana didn't look convinced. Yardarm-4 changed tack. "Listen, Lisbon's been holding back. He's afraid to use his new powers. So, in a straight-up fight against him, the advantage is ours, in numbers and strength."

    "No."

    "No?"

"Lisbon isn't afraid. He's angry. Desperate. He feels betrayed," said Rekkana. She was clear-eyed again, scanning their surroundings for signs of another ambush.

"HE feels betrayed?" It was a ludicrous idea. "He turned on us!"

"Yes, but it's because he doesn't see us as friends anymore."

"Well, he's got that part right. How'd he get so twisted? We all took the deal. And look at us now!"

Rekkana did look at herself, and then at him. "Did we do the right thing?"

Rekkana doubting herself? It was disorienting. He had to get her to focus.

"Of course we did. And we're going to return to the City and share what we've learned with your order. But first we have to make it out of the Black Garden. Listen, we don't have to fight Lisbon. But if we're going to avoid a showdown, we gotta know what he's planning."

    Rekkana nodded.

"OK, so does he hit us from behind or block us? Should we expect more Vex to get funneled toward us?"

Rekkana closed her eyes. Her breathing slowed. Yardarm-4 kept an eye on their surroundings, but he glanced back at Rekkana often, to see the flicker of REM on her eyelids.

After a few minutes, Rekkana's breath quickened, and she opened her eyes.

"It's no use. There are too many possible threads to plot our paths."

"It's OK. We'll go where the wind blows us," Yardarm-4 mumbled.

    "What?"

"I said, we'll chart our own course. We'll write our story as we live it."

Yardarm-4 put on a smile he didn't feel, and Rekkana pretended she had not heard what he'd first said.

"Why not use these gifts we've been given?"

    ...

Lisbon-13 leaned hard against the boulder and reloaded. "I didn't want this!"

He leapt up as the grenade he'd been expecting landed. Shots tore through brush and kicked up stone on the other side of the boulder, but he was already moving up the slope, using the grenade's explosion to cover his movement.

"I should never have let it come to this. Now each arrow is a penance."

A quick peek from his new vantage point revealed no sign of them downslope. A day ago, they would have taken the bait. Yardarm-4 would have run up and made a shield to cover Rekkana. Then she would have jumped over it to land behind the boulder, a comet of energy that would meteor down to finish him off.

He'd taught them to be more patient.

"I have seen too much. No one else should bear these burdens."

"What did you want?" Yardarm-4 called from about three o'clock, moving to Lisbon-13's right—but it could have been a feint. "You accepted. What did it offer you?" From farther to the right. It hadn't been a feint.

Lisbon-13 threw a grenade right where he knew Yardarm-4 would be, and then turned. Rekkana stood a few feet away. She'd crept up while he was focused on Yardarm-4. She'd probably been on the move before he'd spoken. It was what he'd have done. He almost smiled.

Her fist glimmered and quaked with an unfamiliar power. She only had to release her grip, and that energy would rip through him, burning without fire.

"It offered me what I most desired, but in the end, it could never give me that. It could only take it away."

Lisbon-13 lifted his gleaming eyes to meet Rekkana's cobalt gaze and raised Divinity.

    ...

    Chapter Eight: Absence & Mystery

    Never Live It Down

    Zavala: "He's late."

    Ikora: "Zavala—"

    Zavala: "Again."

    Ikora: "Cayde has his… methods—"

    Zavala: "His habits, you mean."

Ikora: "They get results. The Hunters and fireteams Cayde marshals would not be as effective under your command, and you know it, Zavala."

Zavala: "Yes, well, I just wish he'd exercise a little more—"

Cayde-6: "Who needs to exercise more? Maybe it's me, 'cause that… was a lot of stairs."

Zavala: "Cayde. I take it you had enough time to put together a report of your scouts' findings?"

    Cayde-6: "A report? I didn't even bring a pencil."

Zavala: "Cayde, you know how important this is. The Kentarch 3 harbored a Cryptochron."

Ikora: "They're Warlocks, Zavala—fellow Guardians, not a disease."

Zavala: "And yet, you agreed to dismantle the order and banish them from the City."

Ikora: "After Osiris's exile, it had to be done. But they are still Guardians."

Cayde-6: "Oh boy, Mom and Dad are fighting again. Hey folks, how about I just give my report, and you two can argue about this later?"

    Zavala: "Very well."

    Ikora: "Fine."

Cayde-6: "Right. So their ship crashed after passing through the gate. From signs on the ground, their little Black Garden adventure didn't go so well after that. Huge Vex resistance. But then it looks like they turned on each other as they ran back to the gate."

Zavala: "Turned on each other? Are you certain?"

Cayde-6: "Zavala, they fought Vex, for sure. But that last fight? Just three Guardians, two against one. I put my best team on this—well, second best, but they're really good."

Ikora: "So what did they find?"

Cayde-6: "The fight went up a hill. One of them had the high ground."

    Zavala: "Lisbon."

Cayde-6: "Seems like it. It took a lot of guts to charge a good sniper like him, especially without Ghosts."

    Ikora: "Without Ghosts?"

Cayde-6: "Yeah. Pieces of two Ghosts were found near the entrance to the Undergrowth a few klicks away."

Zavala: "The battle started that far away?"

Cayde-6: "Eh… that's not so clear. It doesn't look like the actual scrap started until they got well away from there."

Ikora: "Cayde, this doesn't make a lot of sense."

Cayde-6: "Oh, I know. Wanna hear the weirdest part?"

    Zavala: "Go on."

    Cayde-6: "No bodies… Spooky, right?"

Zavala: "Your second-best team, you said?"

Towerthought: The only place we should be landing in the tower is the one place we can't.

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 08:22 AM PST

I know the hangar is useless, but it's still pretty ironic the only zone in the tower we can't land is in the hangar, lol.

Edit: Wow! Thanks everyone! I know it's not much but this is my first post of any kind to get over 100 upvotes! And now over 400 upvotes! You're all breathtaking.

    Xenophage is Good Now

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 04:51 AM PST

Havent seen this talked about yet, but after that 50% damage buff Xenophage hits like a bloody truck. One-shots most yellow bars from nearly any range, demolishes champions (3 hits for a barrier in Sundial), basically just wave it in somethings general direction and watch it die. Pair it with MG scavenger and finder mods and you can keep the giggles going, thing shreds pretty well.

Kudos to bungie for finally admitting they screwed the pooch dropping Xeno in the state it was and finally getting around to buffing it. Went from insta-vault to one of my favorite guns, im actually happy i went through the quest for it now

Kissed by Fire Triumph is no longer completeable

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 01:24 PM PST

Requires Swift Strike kills, which we don't have as an ability anymore. The replacement warlock melee doesn't count toward the triumph.

Was reading through one of those end of year articles on CNN about the most googled terms of 2019 and to my wonder under the "where is..." Category there is our worm faced friend coming in at number 6 right behind "where is the hurricane now" and before "where is Clemson football team from". I noticed no other gaming terms in the lists! This weekend make sure you congratulate him!!
