Next season this subreddit is going to be the worlds largest fucking saltmine lmao

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 01:08 AM PST

IF trials is coming WITH the lighthouse returning too, im sure the new equipment will look great, have high roll % drops, flawless ornaments may or may not be universal, emblems.. shaders, (adept) weapons perhaps?

Theres going to be GOOD shit to work for in PvP (Besides the old pinnacles), no SBMM, no bungie holding your hand. if you wanna go flawless you've literally got to fireteam up and earn that shit, which means?

EVERYONE will be using the cheesiest fucking loadouts you can imagine, from OEM, handheld with 100 discipline to 100 mobility hunters with mindbenders/lord of wolves

Thorn/TLW/erentil, camping with revoker taking pot shots.

you name it, everything goes. calling it now this subreddit will go up in flames with complaints and sore losers with tears of salt because they cant earn that sweet sweet loot. You need to mentally prepare yourself for it. Fight cheese with cheese

for real though, cant wait for the game mode (and this subs reaction lol)

Edit: lol this shit post made it to r/popular

Bungie Devs Speak About "Telesto-Based Game Engine" | The Speaker

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 02:56 PM PST

    The Article

    A brief look:

It turned out that the new engine built on the exotic fusion rifle Telesto would be a huge help to development time.

According to May DuPname, You don't get to see it, but there's a lot of love put into this engine. Calus from the Leviathan raid is made up of no less than 900 Telestos. They're hard to spot unless you know what you're looking for."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Bastion's exotic perk effectively useless?

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 03:35 PM PST

It doesn't do enough to kill an enemy without breaking their shield, so in the end the exact same amount of damage is required to kill the enemy, with the only exception being if an enemy regains shield at low health.

Cool gun, but it's just such a weird idea to make it partially bypass shields. Would at least have some utility if it completely bypassed shields.

How to cheese Gambit Prime when you’re solo queueing

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 12:50 AM PST

Disclaimer: this method isn't a guarantee for winning (since the opposing team might be a 4 stack using this method) but it should greatly and significant AND substantially enhance you're chances of winning a gambit prime match.

I wanted to share this method with everyone in case they weren't aware of it. I've been using this method for a while now and it seems when everyone on the team uses it, it works insanely well. I recently brought in 21 invader kills in a match using this method.

The Brass Tacks: The most important thing to do for this cheese to work is... the moment you are standing by to deploy, look at your teammates. It's crucial for this cheese to work. If you notice:

    • Red snake on armor: that's your guy who is going into the portal! Not you... not unless you have red gambit prime armor on. The guy with the red armor is going in, he can lock their bank AND steal motes. Also, let this guy grab heavy first. If he goes in without grabbing the heavy, then have at it.

    • White snake on armor: this guy picks up the glowing pyramid triangles... they will most likely try to grab ALL OF THEM UNTIL THEY AFE FULL AND READY TO BANK. So just do him a favor and stay out of the way and kill shit from a distance to keep him alive best you can. Don't run after those white triangles, you stay back a little bit until he's done. And if you accidentally grab one, you should feel guilty on the inside, like how you do because you haven't donated to the Australian wildfire relief efforts yet. When he heads to the bank, go ahead and get the scraps. He won't make it back in time for them. If he banks 20, it sends a giant blocker which drains enemy motes and locks their bank, it also gives the RED SNAKES ARMOR guy more chances to go kill the opposing team, deny motes, and drain motes!

    • Yellow snake on armor: this player protects the bank, they kill the blockers the enemy send over. Feel free to provide free DPS on blockers, they'll appreciate the help. These guys are clutch because they can spot the invaders too. This guy can do work with malfeasance or riskrunner and a shotgun.

    • Green snake on armor: now... hopefully this is a stormcaller with crown of tempests on. If not, well then shit they might be fucking worthless (ok sorry slova-bombers, doomfang titans, kamehameha warbros, burning man warlocks, and raiden flux pole dancers, you're all amazing too), but fuck it, help this guys kill as many ads as possible. But again, remember that neither you or green snake armor guy should be grabbing triangles, that's only for white snake guy, okay? Good.

The cheese: Support your teammates and let them do their job.

A few more notes: If you hear Drifter McConaughey say "invader on the field" THEN SEEK AND DESTROY THEM (unless you got 20 glowing pyramids, then go hide under the bed like if sexual harassment panda were coming upstairs to get your ass). There's an exotic HC called malfeasance that does great against taken. Breakneck sucks (considering the grind). Delirium 21% is a must have. Curated roll gnawing hunger is OPAF. Nightwatch can roll rapid hit/explosive payload 👀. Truth is good for invaders on both sides. Fusion rifles are underrated in gambit prime and put out really good damage against primevals (especially everyone's favorite comp sniper, the Erentil). Riskrunner is great when hive or fallen are on the field. If you get scorn the easiest way to do this round is to pull out your ghost and return to orbit.

And finally, if you're missing the gambit prime armor and really wanna get you some, you'll need the jokers wild pass and there's an activity called reckoning that you can go play to farm the armor. Reckoning can be a lot of fun, kind of like bashing your head against the wall for a couple of hours. You'll need to literally farm almost every god damn piece of armor to work your way up to the tier 3 armor, it'll also take you 3 weeks to get a full set of tier 3 armor. So fuck that noise amirite?!

    /s

TL:DR: Let the invaders invade and the collectors collect, FFS people.

    Follow up:

Winning theme of the comments: fuck you teammates, I'm gunna do me

There's alternate Reaper builds folks. Bottom tree with Doomfang, dragonball z warlock, and raider flux pole dancer!

Solution to two Invaders: Dance off best one gets to invade

The number next to the guardians name is how many motes they have... if that number is 9, 14, or 19 then please dont slide steal the last mote

Hey Bungie! Are you ever gonna increase clan membership amount!?

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 07:21 PM PST

100 members is way too small for a game this big. Warframe had clans for 1000 members. I'm sure you could scale the perks to the amount of current members.

From A Logical Perspective, Rose Should Have Subsistence Instead Of Outlaw

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 08:16 AM PST

Think about it. Rose is related to two exotic hand cannons: the Thorn, and the Lumina. Two completely different guns, used for completely different things, right? True. But something they both have in common is this: after killing an opponent with Thorn or Lumina, an orb is dropped that activates their exotic perks, and reloads a portion of the magazine.

Therefore, if Rose was truly related to the two guns, it would also have a direct reload on kill perk, i.e. Subsistence instead of Outlaw. Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk.

Icarus Dash while in Super should not cost energy

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 05:25 AM PST

Tl;dr - Either Icarus Dash in Super should cause damage, have no cool down, or cost no energy

This is only a minor complaint/gripe, and I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, but nonetheless I feel like it's worth saying.

Icarus Dash on top tree Dawnblade should not cost super energy OR it should cause damage. This is supposed to be the air superiority super, the reason Dawnblade speed was nerfed, the super that makes up for a lack of tracking swords, and yet moving efficiently costs super energy. Why? I understand that light attacks for Spectral Blades and Fists of Havoc cost super energy because they actual do damage AND are used to move faster, but Icarus Dash is pure movement. I'd understand the cost if Icarus Dash caused some sort of flaming aura that did damage, but no. It's just movement. On the subclass designed around movement in the air.

I mean if Bungie feels like that would be too strong I'd even be okay with an exotic that just buffed Icarus Dash, like "gain an extra dash while out of Super, Icarus Dash in Super has no energy cost".

I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I feel like that Super could use that tiny adjustment

Edit: And because of the one second cool down that prevents you from spamming Icarus Dash, it feels extra bad to have it cost energy. If the cool down was removed, the energy cost would make more sense. But as it stands now a cool down + energy cost just feels slightly bad

It would be cool if Hard Light got the same treatment as Symmetry and Cerberus with catalyst

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 05:34 PM PST

With Hard Light in the spotlight again it would be great if the gun could switch mode without reloading. For me it's the only thing keeping me from using this volatile weapon. Having to go through the reload animation twice before being able to shoot the enemy can sometimes be a bit annoying which a quick animation could definitely solve.

Season of Dawn is the first content drop Bungie has put out that hasn't had a returning exotic in it since House of Wolves

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 10:50 PM PST

Ever since House of Wolves Bungie has rereleased old exotics in some form

TTK had the new Suros Regime, ROI had the Iron Gjally, D2 had a bunch, CoO had Telesto the Besto, Warmind had Sleeper and Spindle, Forsaken had LoW and Queenbreaker, BA had The Last Word, Drifter's Bizarre Adventure had Thorn, Soup had Truth and Bad JuJu, And Shadowkeep had Monte Carlo

Looking back this really explains why everyone expected the Corridors of Time to have a returning exotic. It's been a staple of a new content drop for years, and unless they're faking us out real soon this will be the first time we've had a content drop of 100% original content.

    The Xenophage is my Xenobabe

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 05:44 AM PST

I'm probably going to get downvoted to hell, but I LOVE THIS GUN. I don't know why... but it has the range of a sniper, the aoe damage of a grenade launcher, and the feel of a machine gun all in one. It is AMAZING for Gambit, with invading or countering invaders. Usually when I run the gun I can team wipe the others from across the map, around corners (with explosive ammo) or even up close if I just shoot the ground under them.

I know it's below average for boss DPS, which is disappointing, but I took it on a 980 NF last night, instead of the regular Izanagi/Heavy GL fully expecting it to suck. Instead, I took out several unstoppables solo with a quick stun then switch to Xeno and BANG BANG BANG 4 or 5 shots and DED. We also took out a couple Barrier champions without them popping up their shield with no one running the standard meta.

It feels slightly freeing to me being able to run a loadout I actually ENJOY instead of conforming to the meta all the time. I know it's there for a reason because it's usually the surest way to succeed, but it felt good to get a 180k score last night in 980 running a shotgun, scout and Xeno.

    Hashladûn: a bond villain wannabe

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 07:38 AM PST

Hashladûn went through all the trouble of being a keep to lure you, the guardian, to fight her.

Throughout the scarlet keep strike she lures you to the top of the tower, fully aware that you're coming, and she clearly wants you at the top of the tower

However, once you get to the top, she's stood facing away from you, looking menacingly over the pyramid ship with two body guards while she stands behind a gate.

You take out her bodyguards ready to fight her and then she turns around, it is here you realise her plan all along... She just really really wanted to have a bond villain introduction.

As she turns around the gate lowers and she moves forward, you can almost hear her saying to you "ah, guardian, I wasn't expecting you. No matter, I guess I have no choice but to dispose of you now".

The setup for this fight was so elaborate and the way she acts once you arrive shows just how many bond movies she's been bingeing recently and what better way to avenge her dead bloodline than in style

    Optimized Bounties For 1/31/2020

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 09:49 AM PST

Deer Trivia: The etymology of the word "deer" can be traced all the way back to the Old English word "deor," which originally just meant any big four legged wild animal.

Step 1 - Schedule yourself a mental health day!

Step 2 - Pick up the following Dailies - you can check here for the Weeklies you need.

    Tower Bounties:

    • Saint XIV Daily – Fallen Down – Kill 50 Fallen
    • Saint XIV Daily – No Challenge Too Great – Kill 25 Challenging Enemies
    • Saint XIV Daily – Rank and File – Kill 50 Cabal
    • Saint XIV Daily – Personal Space – 15 Melee Ability Kills
    • Zavala Daily – From Downtown – 2 Super Multikills
    • Zavala Daily – Vanguardian – 50 Kills in a Strike
    • Zavala Daily – They Were the Champions – Kill 5 Champions in Nightfall: The Ordeal
    • Shaxx Daily – Sparring Grounds – Complete 2 Crucible Matches
    • Shaxx Daily – Push the Advantage – 3 Kills With Zone Advantage in Control
    • Shaxx Daily – Area of Effect – 1 Grenade Kill
    • Drifter Daily – Big Game Hunter – Kill 1 HVT in Gambit
    • Drifter Daily – Fistful of Motes – Bank 25 Motes in Gambit
    • Drifter Daily – Face to Face – Summon 2 Primevals

    Planetaries:

    • Devrim Kay – European Live Zone – 50 Kills in the EDZ
    • Devrim Kay – The Big Guns – 3 Power Weapon Multikills
    • Devrim Kay – Front Line Defense – 30 Cabal Kills in the EDZ

Step 3 - Follow these steps (in any order):

    1. Run one Sun Dial. (15 minutes)
    2. Run one 920 Ordeal. (15 minutes)
    3. Play one match of Control, and one of your choice. (20 minutes)
    4. Play two Gambit Prime matches. (20 minutes)
    5. Head to the EDZ, grab Devrim's bounties, and see if there's a Cabal Public Event (Winding Cove or the Gulch will work). If so, do that. If not, run a Cabal Lost Sector, then clean up the remaining 50 kills outside. (5-10 minutes)
    6. Optional - If you still need Heroic Public Events, Fallen Kills, and/or Hive Kills for your Obelisk Weekly, and/or today's Melee Ability Kills/Fallen Kills, head to Titan and grab Sloane's Melee and Public Event bounties. If you don't need any of those, pass her up. (10 minutes)

Total Non-Elemental Non-Weapon-Specific Bounties Cleared: 16 Dailies, and who knows how many Weeklies at this point?

    Total Time: 75-90 minutes.

Bungie, you say classic mix is preferred connection for matches but thats a lie.

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 08:19 AM PST

Just got put against a 6 stack who were all in germany, how do i know this? There clan bio was in german, all of their steam profiles said they were in germany. Im in California, how is it connection preferred if its like this? Just admit it has sbmm, no one asked for sbmm in classic mix, IMO it should only be in comp.

How many players here can afford a 4,250 bright dust emote?

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 09:15 PM PST

Not trying to be negative. Genuinely curious.

And if so, what percentage of your bright dust would it be?

I've seen some criticisms of it, but you can manage 3600 bright dust reasonably easy across your 3 characters each week.

Again not trying to be negative.

Simple Suggestion for Sunbracers, have it work with the other solar grenades...

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 04:45 PM PST

I main top tree a lot since the rework, and obviously my favorite exotic is sunbracers...

Ive used solar grenades this whole time, but today I switched to firebolt for crucible and had fusions on in gambit. (I also put strafe glide on, actually meta guys)

I noticed sunbracers not procing and read the perk, which words it only for solar grenade use, but as mentioned, I want to use other solar grenades.

I want to spam fusion grenades like the D1 sunsingers of old, firebolts too. I see why that may be a problem, but really neither grenade are as meta as they were in D1 or now in D2. This just makes solar grenades the even more pushed pick for top trees running this exotic.

Now there is star-fire protocol but it doesn't have the ease of use of sunbracers and doesn't take advantage of celestial fire.

Unstoppable Arrows mod on Hush is actually incredible

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 03:11 AM PST

    Title pretty much.
It gives Hush explosive arrows, and they have quite the blast radious.

The mod procs every time you fully draw the bow, and it doesn't really need anything else.

Sometimes Archer's Gambit doesn't proc, it happens randomly, but not that often, and the plus sides are huge. You can target many enemies at once, and the explosion deals a considerable ammount of damage.

I've been using it on console ever since the patch hit and it's been really really fun and actually good!
Put on a Tenderizer mod for the Unstoppable champions and go to town on them with Izanagi right after you stun them!

    Give it a shot!

I really wish there where other ways to get prisms.

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 05:10 AM PST

So I don't do many activities with people I know. I'm mostly a solo player. I don't really have many options when it comes to prisms. I wish that you could get one for every time you complete a weekly bounty. Or if they where in the loot pool. I don't have many enhancement cores to buy prisms. I do however have allot of legendary shards 22k. If I could use them to buy prisms that would also be great. I don't feel it necessary to spend 1000 shards on 10 cores. I just feel it's more geared towards people that can party up and run with a fire team.
