    This week at Bungie, the final bunker opened.

    A third and final Seraph Bunker has opened on Io. The new Bunker points players to partake in the Seraph Tower event and new Legendary Lost Sectors on the Jovian moon. Guardians also made a new discovery in the bunker about Rasputin's efforts to track our enemies.

    We're one month into Season of the Worthy and we're not done yet. Grandmaster Ordeal is only a few weeks away, but before we share more on that, let's talk about a new charity initiative coming up next week.


    Making a Difference

    As the world responds to the outbreak of COVID-19, many of us have been urged by our local governments to stay home. Containing the spread of the virus is one of the best things we can do to protect our fellow humans. If you're a gamer, you've been training for this moment for your whole life. If you possess the heart of a Guardian, however, you might be wrestling with the urge to do more!

    This is the question we've been asking ourselves at Bungie:

    Players of Bungie games have never backed down from a fight. We've banded together to support the survivors of floods, earthquakes, and wildfires. You may even have a memento to commemorate the role you played in some of those initiatives. On this occasion, when it seems like the world needs help more than ever, we have an emblem to mark the Guardians in our community who choose to throw their lot in with our efforts.

    On Monday, we'll reveal how you can earn this emblem to display proudly in game. We'll talk about this charitable call to action, who will benefit, and the impact that we will have together.

    Grandmaster

    In a few weeks, we'll debut a new difficulty selection for The Ordeal called Grandmaster. It will test your fireteam's coordination, communication, builds, and skill like no other activity in Destiny to date.

    Here's a look at a few of the goals we had when approaching Grandmaster after we saw how the rest of The Ordeal was received:

    • Grandmaster should build on Master difficulty, but be significantly more challenging.
    • Once you reach a certain bar, the challenge should be found completely in perfecting your builds, communication, and execution.
    • The primary rewards should be doled out on initial completion.
    • Completion should be the primary metric for success, rather than score or time or another in-activity metric like 'killing all Champions'
    • Grandmaster should stress the top end of build crafting.
    • Grandmaster should be watchable.

    To attempt Grandmaster, you will need to be Power Level 1025 which is 15 Power above the Pinnacle cap but will be 25 Power below the activity which will be set at a Power Level of 1050. We're also going to have something similar to the Contest mode we introduced for Crown of Sorrow. You will gain no extra advantage for being higher than 1025. We wanted to require a mixture of pinnacle rewards and artifact power to get you prepared for this, but not make you feel like you had to put in a ton of extra hours over-leveling the activity.

    We're introducing some new modifiers along with some familiar ones, including Extinguish (if your team wipes, it sends you back to orbit) and Limited Revives (you start with a small pool of shared team revives and you get more every time you kill a Champion). We don't want to spoil everything, so there are a few other wrinkles we'll let you discover when it goes live.

    Does this sound like a worthy challenge so far? We hope it does, and as a reward, you'll have increased chances of being awarded Exotic armor and Masterworking materials. But the main draw of the mode is the new Seal and title available for beating each of the Grandmaster Ordeal Strikes once during the Season: Conqueror. We want this to be one the most challenging titles to get, but we want it to be approachable for anyone to try who puts in the time and dedication with their team during a given Season.

    Grandmaster Ordeal will begin on April 21.

    The second coming of Iron Banner for this Season is already upon us. Lord Saladin will be setting up shop at the top of the Tower and you'll have another shot at finishing the quest and earning the new Bow.

    Bonus Valor gains are also enabled throughout the week.

    Iron Banner and bonus valor begins at 10 AM PDT on April 14, running through 10 AM on April 21.

    Pleas welcome in the Player Support team with the latest on known issues we're tracking.

    This is their report.

    TRIALS WEEKLY CHALLENGE UPDATE

    Last week, we released Destiny 2 Hotfix 2.8.0.2. As part of the hotfix, we resolved an issue where Trials of Osiris Weekly Challenges were not being reset properly. We believed the issue would be resolved later that week when Trials of Osiris went live, but the issue persisted, causing players who didn't have their Weekly Challenge to not receive any rewards on their third, fifth, or seventh win.

    Starting this Friday, April 10, all players are expected to have their Weekly Challenge available to them when Trials of Osiris becomes active.

    CLAN CREATION AND EDITING

    Players may notice that they are unable to create or edit their clans in Destiny 2. While we investigate this issue, players can still join or leave Destiny 2 clans at any time.

    PC CRASHING UPDATE

    On Tuesday, we worked with Valve to issue a small update to Destiny 2 on Steam that should resolve a crashing issue players have been receiving. This small update is also helping us to determine what is causing the BEAVER error code to appear more frequently.

    BEAVER ERROR CODES

    Since Season of the Worthy began, we have been seeing a significant increase in the following error codes: ANTEATER, BEAVER, BEETLE, and WATERCRESS. While we continue to investigate the cause of these error codes, we have implemented fixes that have helped reduce the number of BEAVER errors on Steam, which you can see illustrated in the chart below. We understand how frustrating and painful it can be to receive this or any error code, and we're working intensely on further mitigations.

    KNOWN ISSUES

    While we continue investigating various known issues, here is a list of the latest issues that were reported to us in our #Help Forum:

    Fully upgrading any Seraph Bunker sometimes doesn't unlock the associated Warmind Security Triumph. This issue is expected to be resolved in our next update.

    Warden of Nothing doesn't give platinum rewards if one of the Unstoppable Champions is killed by a train.

    The Dynamic Charge perk doesn't activate on Symmetry if shot through Citan's Ramparts assisted Assault Barricade.

    Replace glimmer in season pass with bright dust

    Honestly, glimmer is the last thing I need as a reward and doesn't feel very rewarding when you level up. Plus it's super easy to come by as everything you do produces it in some form.

    Replace it with 200 bright dust. Would make it much more enticing to get and allow you to buy some skins, effects, etc from the store this season instead of hoarding it. Seeing as the BD economy stinks.

    250 hours in, and I cannot grasp why we can’t put Champion mods on Exotics.

    I don't understand why I have to use 2 legendary weapon slots for a basic kinetic/energy weapon to stop barriers, unstoppables, or overloads. The exotic weapons provide a far more interesting style of play, so why wouldn't I be able to toss an unstoppable mod on Sunshot? Or an overload mod on Sweet Business?

    Do you not realize you have a LOAD OF CONTENT ALREADY IN THE GAME but you are not using it?

    Someone once said this game is getting wider, not taller.

    I couldn't agree more. Give more visibility to all the content that is ALREADY in the game.

    • Update Escalation Protocol to give random IKELOS weapon rolls.
    • Give Y1 strike specific loot random rolls, like Duty Bound or Braytech Osprey.
    • Give Mercury heroic adventures some relevance so we have a reason to return to past/future Mercury (imagine random rolls on the prophecy weapons, stuff that we spent hours grinding for!)
    • Update Blind Well to give you more rewards or complete faster

    And most importantly:

    • Update old raids/raid Lairs so they give pinnacle gear (on a weekly rotating basis). Even random rolls on Leviathan weapons would be a blessing. It's been so long since I've run Spire of Stars or Leviathan or even Last Wish, and it would be refreshing to run a different weekly featured raid instead of GoS over and over again.

    You still have a bunch of Y1 weapons that haven't been updated yet. You still have content that people have no reason to play. Give us some sort of Age of Triumph style update. No need to make a new Obelisk style vendor with mindless public events. Give us a reason to play.

    No one is saying CoO was good, they’re saying it is better than SotW

    It's really annoying seeing all the counter threads attempting to bag on people saying they'd prefer a Curse of Osiris (CoO)-esq drop to the current seasonal model.

    No one is arguing that CoO was good, as it's pretty universally accepted it's a mediocre DLC that was released during a pretty bad sandbox that was D2Y1.

    However, when compared to the last 3 Seasons of Fear of Missing out (FOMO), it at least added long-lasting, meaningful things to the game. It was larger than this season. It did not require you to play during the 3 months it was out. It was far far from perfect, but it at least felt like an attempt at improving upon the game.

    Once this seasons over, nearly everything (which isn't saying much) in it will be gone, forgotten, and will have made nothing of an impact on the long term experience of old and new players.

    They're asking for a CoO sized drop alongside this current sandbox. They're asking for meaningful, long term content. Please stop confusing their requests as pleas for the crappy sandbox of Y1 or the mistakes made during that DLC.

    This seasonal content stuff feels like a job except every new season im fired from that job and hired for a new job.

    It just doesnt feel exciting like a big dlc drop and i would gladly have some "content drought" if it meant i could build up excitement for a new dlc. Besides, content drought can be a good thing because it means you can finish quests, grind for a god roll, or even just have fun in other games instead of feeling forced to play destiny all the time.

    I just played a game where I invaded while the enemy team was clearing a zone. One of them spawned a Warmind Cell near him and got behind cover.

    So I shot the Cell and the explosion killed him.

    That was pretty cool :D

    Going forward, seasonal event activities need to be matchmade. Relying on players in a public area wanting to do the same thing as you feels like RNG.

    I really like the concept of this seasons activity. Like escalation protocol, vex offensive on the moon, altar of sorrows, it's a great concept to make the world feel alive and when it works, it works really well and it's awesome to see a group of guardians I don't know fight along side each other.

    But too often I'll load into and area over and over and find nobody, or find people in and area who aren't there to do the event, or simply are not leveled for it, or just don't want to do it. Especially as time goes on and more and more people complete it, the pool of players becomes less and less. For players who are playing catch up, this can be frustrating when they haven't "been there" when everyone else was.

    The best part about the sundial and menagerie, even the forge, is at least I know I'm loading into an event with other people who have also selected it. Even today I can load up the latter two and run it usually to success. In seasonal events that come and go, there's no bigger frustration than leaving it up to chance if I'm going to be able to even do an event during the time it's here.

    Alternatively, allow a very old request of being able to take 6 people into a public space with you. If the in game systems can't find players for an event, at least allow us as the player to find others and team up. Right now, 3 people isn't realistic to complete this event when it's designed for more than that. Not saying it couldn't be done by some elites among us, but everyday casuals like me and 2 others, if nobody else comes along, just can't cut it in a timed base activity with pretty large sized waves of ads and mechanics that require both killing and throwing items.

    It also discourages players from using the activity. I know after several attempts to find others, or having others but they don't participate with me and then event fails, I go to another activity or even game.

    Tldr: seasonal activities, especially ones that go away after a season, need matchmaking. Relying on patrol area population for numbers or participation in the event is too hit and miss.

    For players like me, who only have one friend left who plays this game, this has been Season of the "Screw you for not having 2 people to play with"

    Its just me and my buddy left who log on every week to play this game. We don't mind the bounty grind at all, but that's all we have.

    We cant play trials, we wont be able to play the new nightfalls. 2/3rds of the content so far this season just will never be touched by us. All we've gotten is 3 bunkers, some admittedly very cool raspy weapons, and lost sectors we already had.

    Thats it, and so far, thats all we will get. We play on xbox, so we can use the in game LFG, but i can count on one hand the times that worked and wasnt a toxic wasteland.

    I get it, people want more endgame activities. But bungie, why did you make that(so far) the entire focus of the season? What about the rest of us without a clan? Or friends who play the game? Our 10 bucks this season is worth just as much.

    I just hope something comes out thats matchmade relating to the almighty...

    Everyone is [rightfully] bagging on Season of the Worthy, but for the love of the traveler, please don’t sleep on Warmind Cells

    The seasonal mods for generating Warmind Cells are much more straightforward and fun than "Charged w Light".

    They have genuine utility, from easily suppressing a whole field of combatants of any tier to granting overshields, these little red guys are VERY handy, and don't require any gameplay gymnastics to get their abilities proc'd. Yesterday even saw the release of mods that allow you to pick up and move cells and keep them active longer.

    Especially great when everyone in a fireteam is running them.

    Is there a lore reason why the Io bunker is a new bunker rather than us restoring the dilapidated bunker from the Campaign?

    We already found one Seraph bunker on Io way back when the Cabal drilled into it. So why wasn't that area used as the setting for this new bunker? Instead we find a brand new bunker extremely close to where Vex built their Pyramidion and the area around it already showing Vex conversion?

    Is there any lore about this?

    Are Rasputin bunkers just littered all over the system?

    Make raid armor great again

    Just a random thought but if bungie wanted to make raid armor stand out and be sought after why not make it fully customizable stats wise ?

    Meaning if I wanna put put 10 on intellect or 25 on recovery I could just go to my armor menu and allocate the points as I please

    Bunkers should stay open after the season ends and you should get Seraph guns from the daily clears

    I wouldn't mind if the other activities this season left but I feel the bunkers are not taking enough file size to leave. Just have the daily clear of each one could reward a random Seraph weapon from this season.

    The guns aren't amazing but it is extra content for people that have checked out this season or are new.

    Also is doesn't really make sense that the bunkers would just disappear after this season.
