Armour that drops from endgame activities should never have a stat roll of under 60. Period. Posted: 25 Jan 2021 02:16 PM PST Bungie please. The power grind already feels pointless. We're already grinding just for the sake of getting to the next number that our power is capped at. I love this game. I do. And that's why it hurts so much to feel like my time and effort is not being rewarded. If you're going to sunset armour and make it so that we have to farm out new sets every few seasons, there needs to be a more reliable way of seeking out high stat roll armour. Even with sunsetting aside, it doesn't feel good to complete an activity classified as "endgame" and drop a piece of gear I could have dropped in patrol. You keep saying that you want players to tell you what we like and what feels good. Well dropping a 54 (yes, 54) piece of armour on multiple characters in the same week in the RAID, which is supposed to be the pinnacle PvE activity, does not feel good. It feels awful. And I LOVE this raid. It might be my favourite raid in D2. But no matter how fun it is, it's disheartening if the rewards just aren't what they're supposed to be. The same goes for Master level content, and even to an extent Legend level content. Running a Legend or Master lost sector and getting a single enhancement core or, more often than not, herealways pieces and a blue makes me want to uninstall. Please reward the players who want to grind your game. TLDR: Raids/endgame/master level content should drop minimum 60-62 stat roll armour. Maybe for legend drop it to 58-60. But more high stat roll gear. Pls. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jan 2021 03:00 AM PST I don't think I've seen a post revolving around this particular bug yet that has been negative or poorly received. Very much the opposite in fact; the general consensus from those who are lucky enough to experience the bug has been incredibly positive, with some people I remember having said "it was the most fun they've had running a strike in a very long time". I think what you have here is a great opportunity to turn a game mode many have grown tired of and put a nice new spin on it. It's not exactly a secret that the Menagerie is sorely missed, not just because it offered a fantastic targeted loot system, but because it was a six person activity that was just casual fun. It's my belief that this bug with the strikes was, even if unintentional, something that has helped fill that void left behind when the Menagerie was vaulted. If there were a way to incorporate a mode that took the feel of the Menagerie and rolled it into strikes I think it would help scratch that itch a lot of people have been having. Will it be a replacement for the Menagerie? Probably not, in all honesty. But the desire for a game mode or activity that captures the essence of what the Menagerie was has been very clearly in demand. Put it on a weekly rotation not unlike Nightfalls. Give it special team challenges present only in this game mode specific to the maps in rotation. Give it the option for a hard mode with its own loot and special set of challenges to overcome. Perhaps even create special weapons that only drop from this particular mode for people to chase. I feel like this strike bug has sat you all down on a veritable goldmine that's begging to be tapped, and I most certainly can't be the only person who would love to see you expand upon the kind of experience this bug has provided. The demand for something like it is certainly there. It's my greatest hope that you at least consider the possibility of making such an activity a reality in some fashion. I honestly believe it could be great. Edit: For the sake of clarity, what I'm proposing isn't something that's meant to replace playlist strikes, but rather is a separate activity that can be chosen at will. Just as the Vanguard subscreen on the system map has the options of strikes and Nightfalls, this new mode could be a third entry to choose from for example. [link] [comments] |

Weekly Reminder: Do Duality Catalyst before the Season ends if you haven't already Posted: 25 Jan 2021 12:31 PM PST Don't be like me who forgot to do Eriana's Vow and till this day didn't finish. All that sweet Catalyst Progression Passives will go away. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 25 Jan 2021 08:21 AM PST Title. I'm sure this will get a ton of downvotes, but these guns do *not* need to get stronger, else we end up with another Gjallarhorn situation in which these weapons are absolutely mandatory -- and would could say they already are mandatory in raids + GM Nightfalls. Instead, give us more meaningful catalysts (like Wish-Ender) that will push unused weapons into a place of viability. New catalysts with more built-in anti-champion perks would be incredible. Edit: This is specifically to orb generation, since all other perks would be hypothetical. They're already the exotics of choice, why do we need a "rich get richer" application of catalysts to these weapons? All exotics should have kill trackers -- another point some of you have brought up. Izanagi's (formerly another king exotic that's used a bit less often) has a catalyst -- but when you're primarily using it for burst DPS, you're not generating orbs. I'd rather see lesser-used exotics get *stronger* than make the top-tier exotics even stronger. [link] [comments] |

Ikora would make a damn fine raid bounty/pinnacle activity bounty & armor vendor Posted: 25 Jan 2021 05:09 PM PST Title Ikora has basically been unused since warmind, with one brief little stint as a vendor in undying, and the occasional dawning cookie people send her way. So what if ikora simply offered weekly raid and pinnacle activity focused bounties (ie stuff like get X kills in say harbinger hunts, dungeons, etc.) and offering raid armor for spoils of conquest provided you've cleared enough encounters (perhaps 5-10 of the encounter that drops the armor?) with perhaps a weekly limit on pucrases. For such a simple update it'd kill three birds with one stone, make ikora revelant again, give more value and more importantly seasonal xp for those able/willing to do raid and pinnacle activities, and easy access to raid armor in exchange for having proven sufficient mastery (or carries) eliminating the hassle/irritation of rng screwing you on armor. Posted: 25 Jan 2021 05:44 PM PST Hey Guardians First of all. No rant or anything the system is about to be gone for crucible but since you don't get the chance to waste 26k tokens everyday I might as well show you some flaws of the current system. I finally got around doing this since those Tokens are about to be invalid. Also, I did this on a char were I had all the Crucible Armor unlocked to not rig the numbers. So here are some diagrams since those are probably more expressive than my words: Chances of dropping a specific piece of gear Ok, Im aware that a lot of people probably have already done something like this but I wanted to see the raw data myself. And tbh im kinda shocked on some of these numbers. It seems weird that those numbers feel arbitrary because its supposed to be random but the weapon part is so strangely weighted towards certain weapons. Since this system is about to be gone anyway(at least for crucible) I won't spend time analyzing these numbers a lot and if there is anything I wanted to show you with these diagrams, its that getting armor and especially specific weapons rolls this way was completely busted. Here is why. Out of 772 Armor drops 6 of them dropped above 60 and two were worth keeping if im being picky So there is actually a 99% chance that you armor piece is going to be sub 60 And since out of the remaining 548 weapons drops some weapons have and extremely rare chance to drop its makes it practically impossible do drop a somewhat usable roll of a specific weapon. If I wanted to make some sort of sense out of the weird weighting towards certain weapons I would actually say that it has something to do with when weapons got introduced. If you look at the diagram it makes some sort of sense that weapons on the left hand side of the spectrum are somewhat newer. Its obviously not always the case but if I had to guess I would say it has something to do with it. If I go with this concept it looks like the system sometimes cares about the fact that a weapon was reissued and sometimes it doesn't. If that makes any sense. If there is someone reading this who wanted to do this herself/himself before the new season I would highly appreciate if you tag me in your post since I really wanted to know if other people get the same weird weighting. You can also reach out to me on Discord: Merri#2845 To come to an end here are some random numbers.
Have a good day Guardian see you in the wild :) [link] [comments] |
All Linear Fusion Rifles should use Special ammo. (Just look at Arbalest) Posted: 25 Jan 2021 05:39 PM PST KackisHD just posted this video today. The most RECENT Linear Fusion rifle (Corsair's Wrath) dropped from Season of the Hunt has LESS use than Mountaintop, a sunset weapon. How is this possible? It's because these weapons use heavy ammo. I would use linears far more often if the ammo economy changed to special over power. Sorry, I'd rather use my Lament or Falling Guillotine for my power weapon. Hell, I'd rather use a rocket over most linears. Arbalest is a prime example of linears being good, but not over-powered over most special weapons. Compared to snipers, they're not much different. Snipers are actually better, because there is no charge time. I can get 5 shots off a sniper in the time it takes 3 linear shots to go off. Bungie, you NEED to re-evaluate the ammo economy for Season 13 (or S14 if need be), even looking into Trace Rifles into Primary ammo again but that's another subject for another day. In conclusion, 2 REALLY GOOD linears are being sunset next season. And these weapon archetypes have little to no use anywhere due to the state they're in. Time for change. [link] [comments] |
WHY IS HAWTHORNE STILL TALKING ABOUT GHAUL?! Posted: 25 Jan 2021 05:00 PM PST "Took out Ghaul. Woke up the traveler. And now half of what I hear in the streets is how much you and your clan are making a difference. And that's why I started this whole clan thing in the first place. People are still waiting for the Vanguard to lead the way. But it's time for a change! And guardians like you are making it happen. No pressure." Umm excuse me but...…..what?! Hey Hawthorne its been multiple seasons! Hawthorne out here confusing the shit out of New Light Guardians talking about some dude from over ten seasons ago. "It's time for a change!" and yet you are standing on your perch, and doing jack shit. The Darkness is here and we can all wield it and you cant. Cayde died, Uldren died and then came back, Taniks doesn't feel like he needs to die so he keeps coming back and back again, we defeating a motherfucking dragon and you wanna keep on talking about Bane and his Uncle taking over the Traveler ….okay. Like...…Hello?! We woke up the traveler ages ago, and then it fixed itself. There have been a many other bosses that have been a bigger deal then big ole Ghaul ex: Raid Bosses. In fact Ghaul is nothing but a fart in the wind at this point. Why is Hawthorne still talking about this? I swear I have a conniption fit every time she repeats something about old ass vanilla content, Devrim, pie, or her bird. "Is he looking at you funny? I think he was looking at you funny because you are a bird." no it's because you keep on talking about... oh nevermind.. "We're all the same deep down" Nope, wrong, I have friends that are legit robots, friends that glow blue and human friends, whilst you sit there and talk to your bird, riddle me that Batman. She also has the ghaul (haha I made a funny) to mention clans that are making a difference? 50% of the clans in this game are D-E-A-D or dying or just getting back on their feet. Then you proceed to give me a useless engram and wait for it... seven whole enhancement cores uh....yay? Tell ya what here's a better idea. How about we sunset Hawthorne? Put someone else there or better yeat old tower soccer ball or just send her bird and her hoppity doo-dah poncho wearing ass back to a planet that has rain, at least she would be of use there. When all I get at the end of a season is a stick (raid banner) it doesn't seem worth it to me. At least let me equip it so I can beat enemies to death with it. - Lunchbox (: [link] [comments] |

Lament is the Perfectly Designed Exotic Weapon - It is Simultaneously Overpowered and Mediocre Posted: 25 Jan 2021 09:27 PM PST I hope Bungie takes into account for future seasons - the success of the Lament weapon design. I know these successes are not always possible to replicate willy-nilly, but it's works because Lament is great for both casuals and for serious players, and is overpowered for certain content while quite mediocre for others. Here's why: For Casuals (or just casual gameplay):
For Serious Players:
Overpowered in Specific Scenarios:
Mediocre in a lot of Endgame Content:
Basically, a weapon that is easy to get and that you can have a lot of fun with just swinging it around, fulfilling that power fantasy. Or you can have a lot of fun with DPS optimizations and calculations if that's your thing. It has specific niche uses in certain high-level content (Atraks-1), so you feel great being part of the team, but it's not a weapon that if you don't have, you're missing out (e.g., Anarchy, Divinity, maybe Xenophage). I say this because it doesn't happen too often. Falling Guillotine came close in some ways, but it didn't have niche specializations, it didn't have very interesting mechanics, and it wasn't a storyline exotic. I would have put it more in the FOMO category - no FG, no spin to win. Several seasons ago, Thunderlord partially filled the space when it first came out - easy to get and pretty useful everywhere, but not at all mandatory. Whisper of the Worm as well, though harder to get. Sleeper Simulant to some extent...my memory is hazy there, I never enjoyed aiming with that thing. Anyways, good job on Lament Bungie, and whatever secret sauce you used to develop those exotics, please bring it back again in the future. It feels really bad to get a nice looking exotic, get a catalyst, masterwork it, and then toss it right into the vault. [link] [comments] |

Getting a gift handed from god in Trials Posted: 25 Jan 2021 06:24 AM PST It was about 1:30am last night, my Trials team and I had been playing for the last 6 hours trying to go flawless, we had a couple cards where we got to like 5 games but ran into teams of super sweats (1.8-2.0+ K/Ds), streamers, etc. I had just made a comment to my team that it seems like there are less cheaters (lol) than usual. We get to our flawless game, after a tough 5-4 victory over a solid team of 1.5's. We are all tired as shit. "Last card boys, im out after" Low and behold, we get our final match and are flying in. I look up the team and see one guy with 4036 Elo, 1000 Adored kills for the week (99% accuracy), 3.5 K/D. We let out a big sigh of frustration. I tell my buddy to back out, he says "nah, lets try" We go down 0-3 with the quickness. My buddy's mic is extremely sensitive and I can hear his typing to someone mid game, figured it was to one of our clan mates. We start the final round now 0-4 and are just waiting for our demise. All of sudden, they back out! Turns out my friend added one of them and explained to them kindly that we were playing all day trying to go flawless, the guy replied "GG's man enjoy" and they backed out. See, some of these savages have a humane side to them. Just felt like sharing... [link] [comments] |
Grandmaster Nightfalls need return protection for people who get kicked due to error codes Posted: 25 Jan 2021 04:40 PM PST Was on by far the best run of Scarlet Keep I had had this weekend, the last Grandmaster I need, when one of my teammates got weaseled and basically killed the entire run. I get that they don't want people to join and leave, but it's ridiculous that someone can get an error code and it ruins the entire strike. Can we PLEASE have some kind of allowance for people who get the error code to re-join? [link] [comments] |

Explanation Of Cloudstrike + Divinity Nerf Posted: 25 Jan 2021 08:45 PM PST I'm basically bumping this old post and rewording the explanation + combining it with the recent cloudstrike patch. If you don't know, recently Bungie fixed a bug where Cloudstrike shots on the Divinity Bubble were counting for two precision shots. (1) Something is up with Cloudstrike : DestinyTheGame (reddit.com) So originally I was like the person in this video and I thought that Cloudstrike would shoot lightning for every precision shot after the third. Instead, the Cloudstrike ability works just like triple-tap in that every set of three shots will generate a lightning strike. What was happening is that the lightning strike itself would count as a precision shot since it was hitting the Divinity Bubble. Normally you would get two lightning strikes per mag, on the third precision shot and the sixth. With divinity, the first lightning strike after the third precision shot would count as another, so you're fifth shot would generate a second lightning strike, which combined with your sixth and seventh shot would generate a third lightning strike. Essentially we were getting a pseudo triple-tap effect with Divinity on top of the lightning damage since the lightning strikes counted as a shot from the mag. Now that the lightning strike doesn't count as a precision shot Cloudstrike will only have a slightly better triple-tap since as Ehroar showed, the lightning strike does 1.64x damage of a direct precision shot. TLDR; Funny lightning gun still works in the crucible, but now is only slightly better than a normal triple rapid-fire frame sniper for PvE purposes. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jan 2021 10:14 PM PST So I was on Youtube and I saw a Destiny video from Dunkey in my recommendations list (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1QxSfMUujo). I've never played Destiny 1 so I checked it out and pretty much everything he said is what players till this day complain about. I'll list it out for people that don't want to watch:
This sounds very similar to what people have been complaining about right now. For example, rewards are still pretty bad and you do endgame content like raids which have spongy bosses only to come out of it with less than ideal stat distributions on gear. Or how worlds are pretty one and done locations until some content forces you to revisit an area. It honestly just makes me wonder how all of this "We hear you" from Bungie really plays out if for 6 years going on 7 the same issues are still present. [link] [comments] |
Code of The Missile Titan Class is the most fun I've had in Mayhem ever. Posted: 25 Jan 2021 01:31 PM PST Bout to get a lot of people be like "DUH! You JUST NOW realized this?" My Titan is still fresh so I haven't been able to experience anything Titan related till a month ago and thought I'd see how Code of The Missile works in Mayhem and out of all 3 character classes and subclasses, Code of The Missile is my favorite. The only thing I don't have to put the icing on the cake is DUNEMARCHERS and it makes me big sad. So for right now I'm using the MK. 44 Stand Asides and they work despite what their description says so it's a good placeholder. Being able to counter a Stasis Hunter when he freezes you with that 1st pick axe (if it's not a direct hit) is very satisfying to super missile out of the ice and yoink their soul.
