I can see a Titan wearing "Cuirass of the Falling Star" thundercrash into a team wearing Dino armor.

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 01:23 PM PST

Team trying to capture flag in control, all wearing Dinosaur space suits, and a Titan comes flying out of the sky, falling, crashing, killing. Shaxx screaming. The B flag is on fire. Everything is on fire.

    An Extinction. Level. Event.

Honestly should get an emblem for mapping the "dino-boys" whilst wearing Cuirass of the Falling Star.

As a Iranian destiny fan, thank you bungie for the new ornaments

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 06:55 PM PST

As a Iranian I'm used to seeing my culture be erased and just being portrayed as Mesopotamian. So seeing the ancient Iran inspired armor revealed really existed me even if it was mixed with Mongolian/Aztec themes. But what really got me in the feels is seeing the Shahbaz hawk on the armor set. Even if it's a small part of the armor it still means the world to me to be able to see something I so badly wanted represented in video games. I know it's small but thank you bungo 🙏

if anyone is interested this is the shahbaz hawkhttps://i.imgur.com/5EdCn7J.jpg

Edit 1: thanks for all the rewards guardians

Changing the element on an armor piece should not cost masterwork materials

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 06:21 AM PST

You should only have to spend those Prisms and Shards once to upgrade the armor piece, but not again when you're changing its element.

The current system actively discourages build crafting and experimenting for the vast majority of the playerbase who don't have time to grind Nightfalls all week.

I really appreciate the removal of FOMO

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 03:57 PM PST

I'm someone who was fairly burnt out and actually left Destiny 2 during the season prior to Beyond Light. I logged back in and played the campaign of Beyond Light and I enjoyed it. All in all though it wasn't enough to bring me back permanently, so I missed out on the entirety of Season of the Hunt. I heard tell of some cool exotic weapons that were released, but I was too far gone.

However, lately, and I'm not sure why, maybe I've just been itching to shoot aliens, but something about this new season brought me back. Initially I was hesitant because I was worried I missed too much content. I'm a completionist but also have barely any time to play.. so bad combination. I was pretty happy to see that I can continue with Season of the Hunt tasks + all the exotic quests I missed. It just feels so much better than last year. PLUS being rewarded with Cabal Gold for finishing content from last season feels good and makes me think I'm not wasting my time.

Anyway, just wanted to give my thoughts. Bungie should feel good about the current seasonal state for casual players.

Bungie's ability to create a game like Destiny with the PVE/PVP aspect is amazing to me.

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 08:22 AM PST

Despite some of the issues there are (which are pretty minor in my opinion) there is a lot going on between the two modes. Think about it, every gun, armor, stat, ability all work cohesively and almost seamlessly when going from one mode to the other. With what Bungie is able to do with a game like Destiny and its FPS/Looter/RPG aspects is amazing to me, and while balancing can be a tough thing to get right, they've done a damn good job. Not to mention, the quality of the game is second to none.

Edit: You guys are too kind. I guess I just want to throw in that this is also one of the best gaming communities I've had the pleasure of being a part of, despite it's ups and downs. Thank you Bungie.

Why does exotic armor cost so much to masterwork if I'm only getting the exact same benefits as I would if I masterworked a legendary piece?

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 08:16 AM PST

It would be neat if exotic armor gained additional benefits like our exotic weapons do. I don't know. I have pretty high stat legendary armor, and most of my exotic armors when masterworked don't even cross a single stat over the threshold. 3 ascendant shards for the same benefits of something that costs one? Ugh.

Random thought: Why was ruinous effigy nerfed when warmind cells exist?

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 09:15 AM PST

    Ruinous Effigy:

    - takes up exotic weapon slot

    - uses special ammo(albeit very ammo efficient as long as you only kill red/yellow bars with the effigy)

    - transmutation sphere is short ranged and you can't shoot until you drop or use it

    - grants damage resistance and healing on guard, but damage dealt by the guard has been neutered by nerfs

    - spheres can reliably nuke groups of adds with guard+heavy or single targets with light+heavy but you have to get close and are left vulnerable when not guarding

Ikelos smg + warmind nuke build:

    - legendary energy weapon + 3 armor mods(1 neutral and 2 solar armor mods)

    - uses primary ammo to create cells

    - covers 2 different elements in one weapon slot(arc smg+solar warmind cells)

    - 1 warmind cell can nuke an entire room of adds in an instant and can be created and detonated from range

    - free to shoot and swap weapons at all times with a warmind cell build

    - warmind cells can also be created by solar abilities and xenophage

The only advantage that ruinous effigy has on paper is the healing and damage resistance on the guard which is made up for by playing safe at range or using healing rifts/well of radiance. You can also bring an exotic heavy, izanagi's burden, or a legendary rocket to make up for the lack of single target damage warmind cells have.

It has now been 365 days since Bungie mentioned bad luck protection on Pinnacle drops

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 12:22 PM PST

From the March 5th, 2020 TWAB:

Slot imbalances can also affect pinnacle progression. When we say slot imbalance, this could be explained as those times you have a chest piece drop from pinnacle sources a few times in a row. We've been looking at player feedback for some time, and are investigating a few approaches to the problem space. We're looking to have an update on that at a later date.

    Any update, Bungie?

Given that the seasonal PL cap increase is going to be reduced to 10, and most of us will be living full-time in the pinnacle grind:

What changes, if any, would you like to see made to the pinnacle grind?

Please for the love of god can we get a chest vendor at the end of VoG like we have with DSC?

I like team monster, but even I realize how hopeless it really is for Team monster

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 05:03 AM PST

Literally every single post I've seen today is team dino, especially from content creators. it kinda sucks cus I really like the titan set, and have been waiting for arms like the titan set for a while. hope Bungie goes with both sets since team monster really doesn't have a chance, though that would defeat the whole purpose wouldn't it.

EDIT: Don't let this discourage you! If you want your favorite set in the game VOTE!

Personally I'm team Dino, but for those who like Monster instead, I really hope both sets end up in the game at some point.

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 01:50 PM PST

So yeah, Dino looks like it'll be a thing in this year's festival, but maybe the Monster sets could be a thing next year?

I have seen a lot of thank you's regarding the reversal of Sunsetting, but the biggest thing for me was the power grind being nerfed!

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 05:15 PM PST

Playing the game is so much more enjoyable now that there isn't the 50 power grind looming next season. It would be even better if it was eliminated all together (imagine if we could all just play activities by selecting desired difficulty though like it was in Halo 😳), but for now this is a very big step in the right direction!

    Thank you Bungie ❤️

120s may need a small range tune-down but they wouldn’t be nearly as dominant if the overwhelming P2P latency didn’t render most TTK differences completely nominal.

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 05:49 PM PST

Title. You trade so damn much in primary duels with guns that have even remotely similar TTKs that we end up in situations like this where a 1.0 with more range is far preferable to a .8 because of forgiveness and a devious lack of practical advantage. This is also why sniper flinch nerfs have done, currently do, and will continue to do fuck-all in changing the fact that camping with a sniper is optimal. Flinch is not the issue. The reason you are getting shot by a sniper midway through your VigWig burst is not because they have minimal flinch, it's because they've probably already pulled the trigger and shot you on their screen before it can display on yours.

It costs 3,120 legendary shards to buy an ascendant shard

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 09:40 AM PST

So today spider is selling etheric spirals at spider for legendary shards and glimmer for etheric spirals.

To get an ascendant shard you need 10 enhancement prisms, 50,000 glimmer and 100 etheric spirals.

To buy an enhancement prisms you need 10,000 glimmer, 25 etheric spirals and 10 enhancement cores. It's cheaper to buy all the materials to get an enhancement prism and get them from banshee than it is to buy them from spider. This is because it costs 5 legendary shards to get 25 etheric spirals and 10,000 glimmer costs 4 legendary shards when converted to etheric spirals then to glimmer. 10 enhancement cores costs 300 legendary shards.

This means each enhancement prism costs 308 legendary shards if you buy them from banshee rather than the 400 legendary shards spider sells them for.

To buy an ascendant shard you need 10 enhancement prisms which costs 3,080 legendary shards if you follow the above method. The price of 50,000 glimmer is 20 legendary shards and 100 etheric spirals costs 20 legendary shards.

So overall it costs 3,080 for 10 enhancement prisms and then 40 legendary shards to then combine with those prisms to buy a shard from banshee.

So if you have loads of legendary shards and need those ascendant shards the price is 3,120 legendary shards each

Feel free to correct me on any errors I've made

Just to clarify I would not advise this method it's so much easier to do nightfalls to get them.

Please have VoG armor (and all returning D1 raids) come with their Age of Triumph reprised armors as ornaments by default

Bungie, you need another shader that glows like Gambit jadestone.

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 06:10 AM PST

Otherwise everybody in the game is going to be rocking that shader in the celestial sets since it's the only shader that glows that brightly. Maybe a black/red shader?

Bungie, thanks for letting us vote on Dinosuars vs Monsters. It would be nice to give players more choices like this about Destiny's future, be it small or large.

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 10:10 PM PST

I don't know why, but being able to influence things about this game, even if it does not go how I want in the end, feels good. Let's do more of that in the future.

(Not to the extent where we ruin the game mind you, you know how us players can be sometimes. Everyone has a vision of Destiny and it's always different to everyone else's.)

Perks like celerity and bottomless grief should be intrinsic on the Trials and Nightfall weapons.

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 04:15 PM PST

They are not active enough to be worth using over other perks and when you get those perks it feels like a waste because of how situational they are. Adding them as intrinsic perks would also make them a little more useful in the activity they are from.

Please bungie i'm begging you just let me turn rain makers and pure matterglass in to vendors for glimmer or shards

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 05:39 PM PST

    Title

I'm going to be 100% frank, Matterglass is completely worthless and irredeemable, and rainmaker is nearly as bad. i have at least 200 of both and i have zero reason to ever use them.

So please, let us just turn them in for glimmer and other goodies to tower venders. Gunsmith telemetries are 99% worthless as a currency and have been since forsaken. and glimmer.... while i've burned through about 300k glimmer this week after being motivated to masterwork gear fully for the first time since sunsetting was sunset... rainmaker is frankly still pretty bad as the chance of activation is fairly low, and just sitting at sorrow's harbor tends to be more profitable than relying on it ime. Plus even if it does grant more than i've noticed it would take....a rather not so insignificant amount of time to even hope of burning through 10, let alone 200 so being able to trim the fat would be quite welcome..
